401  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: We need to stop Senator Joe Manchin in making comments about BTC. on: March 04, 2014, 05:26:25 PM
Ban the internet!

Ban pollution!

Ban oral sex!

Ban prostitution!

Ban deodorant!

Vote for me again, now that I have made everything you own worthless! NOT!

How about banning FIAT... Oh wait, he owns banks and FIAT services... Plus he gets paid in FIAT... Last thing he wants is FIAT to be useless...

Too late...

No more power! Go swim in your paper-cut pools of money! Hope he gets a staff-infection... (Play on words.)

Government will not BAN something they want to "reposes", and have already "taken ownership of"... Otherwise they could not "cash it in" legally. They still have tons from silk-road they are cashing-out.
402  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Country XXXX declares Bitcoin legal tender. What happens next? on: March 04, 2014, 05:09:17 PM
What would the incentive be for a country to declare Bitcoin legal tender?

I don't see any benefit to a very large country like the USA, but perhaps for a very small country there would be a benefit.

Would it make it easier for Bitcoin exchanges or other Bitcoin service companies to set up shop in this small country and then do business all over the world?

Would the country then be able to reap a benefit from taxes on these companies. The companies will have to pay taxes anyway to some country. Why not to the country that declared Bitcoin a legal tender.

No reason to have counterfeiting insurance or agencies.. (less overhead use costs and restrictions)

No "printing", thus, no associated maintenance or losses due to cost to print, record, destroy, recycle.

No need for expensive underlying networks for transmitting and tracking... We already do that. (Less overhead costs.)

Direct bank use, storage and tracking. (Countless benefits there.)

All those costs come from your dollars/FIAT's value, and taxes.

What advantages does FIAT have? Banks as we once knew them, are a breed that will die. Transactions take too long, communication between banks is slow, and records are just useless to most people. Not to mention all the hidden fees and overly complex operation, just to spend a dollar, or save a dollar. We no longer need banks. Get rid of them. They better upgrade to BTC loan-agents, or they will no longer have a use.

P.S. Iceland has made Auroracoin an official "currency", and accepts BTC as a currency.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will bitcoin price be in 2016? on: March 04, 2014, 04:56:13 PM
One Million dollars... Mwaaahaaaa.. (What, that... that isn't a lot anymore...)
Two... no
Five... no
Twenty... no

One Billion dollars... Mwaaahaaaa... (Yea, that's good now a-days... Ok)
Mwaaahaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaa (Evil laugh)

Wait... no, that's not a lot anymore either. I just checked the interweb WiKi...

One Trillion dollars... (Wait, you sure this time? Yea, Ok, good...)
Mwaaahaaaaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa (Bigger evil laugh)
404  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why would anyone "sell" a money making machine? on: March 04, 2014, 04:32:15 PM
Cash up front NOW guaranteed, as opposed to possible undetermined cash potential in the future, that costs you money, before it makes you money.

That... and this...

Charge them 100% more than it costs to make...

1 for me *
1 for bob
1 for me *
1 for sue
1 for me *
1 for joe
1 for me *
1 for dave
1 for me *
1 for jess

Total:
5 for me (50% of the market)
5 for others (50% of the market, or 10% each x5)

End of the day, I spent $0 for my 50%, and you spent 200% for your 10%... I win. Not to mention, I can cash-out 100% faster than any one of the 5x miners can... at a lower price. Take your money both ways... Have a nice day!

Also...

Make 1000, keep the best 500 for yourself, sell the 500 slower ones... (Future market security)

P.S. China, selling you USD prices for the same miners are making 3 for them, 1 for you. You are paying 4x more then it costs them to make them.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emerald - EMD, a great cryptocurrency | Version 1.3 released! on: March 04, 2014, 03:59:41 PM
Market shift coming... buy while they are nice and low, and mine the hell out of them while the difficulty is low. BTC/LTC is about to have major good news unleashed.

All alts are changing direction fast. Lowest diff and valued ones usually see the greatest returns.

Don't say I didn't give you fair warning... These next three months are going to be a blasted road up to the next highest yearly levels, before summer-time lows come back.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Emerald - EMD, a great cryptocurrency | Version 1.3 released! on: March 04, 2014, 07:55:36 AM
Anyone still mining emd? Time to move on or life in it still?

I still mine it, but rejects are still about 50%... (solo mining in the USA)

Not sure who has zero rejects... But that pool stated above seems to be in the same reality I am in... High rejects, thus, half the reward.

This is windows wallet, that, I assume, is linux for the pool.

Guess the guys who are close in one giant lump, in the same country/area are the only ones not getting rejects, because their daemons are rejecting everyone's except their own. (Not on purpose, they are all just closer to one-another, thus confirming their blocks faster than ours, which come afterwords.)

Got one USA node up... With two more big miners, they will start seeing rejects as we start taking the cake. Tongue

Long live the green glass rock!

P.S. Saying version 1.3 is useless when the internal version is showing v0.6.3.0-unk-beta... call it version 0.6.3.

Time for a coin repossession!
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1BTC or 1oz of Gold. Which one would you take? on: March 04, 2014, 06:00:13 AM
1BTC
408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 04, 2014, 05:30:30 AM
Did you guys see this one
http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/03/03/why-the-tsa-hassled-a-traveler-with-bitcoin-in-his-bag/
This is hilarious, I feel much safer traveling with these guys on the job
I was considering applying for the TSA, but then realized I wouldn't be able to stand the stupidity.
Perhaps I'll aim for another governmental agency, see if any my my military experience can get me a job.
That bitcoin, if it was ever found, would never be reported as "collected". lol. Just like the DEA... Found $500,000 in USD at the raid.. (But only claims $5,000 was found... Like the dealer is going to tell on them... lol)

Excuse me sir... can we check you.. you might be carrying a CC with a $10,000 limit, across international lines... FFS... seriously...

Excuse me sir... can we check you... you have a money printing machine in your possession that prints $10,000 of potential value...

Yea, and my testicles are worth 10x that much on the black market... Take them too... What about my kidney, my liver, my heart... Hearts go for over $800,000... Oh, did I mention I am an escort, and I was paid $40,000 to go overseas to seal the deal...

Since when is it the transportation's duty to judge who they transport? They don't stop people on the subway, or the highway, or the bus-station, or in taxi's... And they wonder why sales are declining. It isn't because people are afraid of terrorists, it is because they are tired of TSA crap and scared of what every innocent trip will end-up getting them flagged as, or end-up taking from them.

Fly naked... The only way to fly.

I mine naked...

Oh, the price you pay to use FIAT...
409  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 04, 2014, 02:53:54 AM
They all look like legit organizations.  Until the don't.

No, Microsoft still looks shady... Tongue
("They all seem legitimate, until you actually look at them." That would have been a better statement.)

Unfortunately this is one of those thing where having "no credit", is almost better than having "bad credit". I think in the community aspect of things, this is as big of a mess as many others. I don't think any ASIC company (or representing distributor), is going to win any gold medals for a while.

The good part about all the knock-offs, is that they have zero support, and I assume a lifespan of 30-90 days. Tongue Though, I don't think any miner needs a lifespan greater than 3 years. Those who can use recycled parts, will be the ultimate winners... (Reusable PSU's is a given, but cases, heat-sinks, daughterboards... That will be the only next real advantage. Rip out the PCB and simply replace it with a new one. Building everything over and over from scratch is just going to be too much long-term overhead. Even the PCIe slot-miners are not a great concept. That just adds more overhead and limitations.)

Ok, back to my corner... (Fighting with paypal and ebay at the moment. It won't let me pay for my stuff. lol, keeps asking for a credit-card. Though I have multiple accounts with plenty of money linked to the account already. Something is broken there.)
410  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 09:52:59 PM
Not sure if anyone saw this, but it's worth a look.

Bill Maher referencing Bitcoin fall in value recently.

Value now is more important than value 10 hours ago. Tongue

30m chart looks best... but the 3d chart is looking like it has promise too.

Ok, off to work... back in 4 hours... Tough day at the office! Tongue
411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 09:51:38 PM
he sent me a "few" pictures. i got more updates from this guy about AMT then i get from AMT. It's ridiculous. the picture of him and josh lead me to believe they know each other.

Good news if it is true... then we have proof of delivery! Tongue

Even better if they are working together... Shows a strong delivery-base... but the stuff he sells is china-counterfeits, thus the complaints. (Few would ever know, and quickly just leave a good reply based on delivery-status.)

Still cautious unless he shows one of the new cases, with the clear side and an inside shot of the boards they actually produce, and the back-plane with the AMT logo on it. Oh, and it actually mining. Tongue
412  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 09:41:36 PM
Anyway,  I am selling my pre-order #961.   12.5 BTC...
AMT will handle the transfer.
PM me!!!

BTC on the rise, now that GOX announcement indicates they are applying to "reopen" and "pay all losses". Still a great deal to buy at, if you got the BTC.

I am sure the miner will still pull-off a good 25-35BTC in value mining. (2yrs 2 life-time @ 1.2 THs) 10x more if you mine alts! lol. If I had the BTC available, or funds left... I would buy it myself still.
413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 09:38:44 PM
Clenell... He has a photo of Josh and some guy... (I don't doubt)...

But no photo of the "miner in hand", and that is not even the correct photo, specs, or anything, even for that photo... and he is saying +/- still...

Not to mention he said he got three, wanted to sell ONE, but has TWO listed, both for separate prices. I think he hopes his will get delivered by the time someone buys it. One for 10K one for 13K. Each one says the same thing, "I got three, wanted to sell ONE"

Not only that... but no LCD panel, not the correct logo, not the correct case in any AMT images. (Thus, not AMT miner.)

All the stuff he photographs for sale, and no photo of his actual miner, in his hands... (Sure he just saw the list of miners, and said that he was one of those in that number. Would even doubt if the person in the photo is him, with Josh. Tongue)

Buy it.. Tongue
414  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-03-02] eBay Bitcoin: Man Conned Out of Bitcoins Through Hacked PayPal Acct on: March 03, 2014, 08:49:49 PM
Did you hear, bankers conned out of money, by pointing guns at their heads...

Did you hear, Bob Smith was mugged for his cash, while using public streets...

Did you hear, Enron...

Did you hear, AOL...

Did you hear, housing values have dropped...

Did you hear, China has three major ghost-town metropolises...

Did you hear, smoking gives you cancer... So does the dust off cars break-pads, which has asbestos... Which you inhale while jogging near a road, driving with your windows down, living within 10,000-feet of a road... OMG NEWS

LOL, had to say it..

What about the people conned out of cash through non-hacked paypal (legitimate transactions)? That is in the multi-millions of dollars now.
415  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 07:48:17 PM
I liked that post on ebay... "I ordered three, decided to keep two"... Has two listed for sale, one for 10K one for 13K... Both china junk, with an AMT logo on it. (Notice no pictures of inside... Might be buying just the case of a 1.2THs miner! Tongue)

I also like that... "1,200 GH/s nominal performance ( + / – 10% )" on his ebay listing... What, you don't actually KNOW how fast it is... You have it in hand... Should have actual solid numbers!

Also LOLed at 18x7x18 high size... They are now using an extended case... Scam-ebay-listing-fail. (You can look at the photo and see that it is not 2.5x taller than wide. (18/7=2.57)

He must not be following the posts here, with the updated photos of the miners. Tongue

Funny, didn't they say they are releasing them with 1.5GHs... Or 1.2THs with a follow-up of one additional board...

Proof that the ebay listing is a scam. (Someone won't know the difference... They will be happy with the chinaminer. But pissed when they find it is not an actual AMT miner.)

lol... Everyone is delivering AMT miners, except AMT. (Bad joke)
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - Professional Investment, No Fees, Rising Exchange Rate on: March 03, 2014, 06:18:53 AM
. . . in order to drive up AIR price, you must have a reserve of BTC to be used to purchase AIR

They will get that through other trades, and by walling-off the highs of AIRcoin. Those attempting to pump, will be feeding the walls. (I assume sniper-walls, that will not be seen, but they will ultimately drink-up the pumps value. Same like I do on other alts.)
417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 06:06:03 AM
Where did everybody go? It's pretty amazing that most of all the other posters here logged out within 30 minutes of one another about an hour ago. Powerlines down due to Titan?

Watching "Walking dead"... Shhhh...

Also, buying a lot of crap on ebay at the moment... Fueling the economy...
418  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox, I Just Had Mt GoX on the phone... on: March 03, 2014, 04:04:34 AM
They filed bankruptcy, so there is zero chance they will send you money any time soon, sorry.

The "Type" of "bankruptcy protection" they filed, was similar to USA "Chapter 11"... "To pay all debts, and continue to operate".

They need "permission" to use some of the funds left, to pay "operational costs", thus the filing. They have to prove that they actually can "earn or pay-back losses", which will give them the rights to open again, or sell to cover the losses, which HAVE to be payed back...

In any event, essentially GOX themselves are "absorbing all the loss". Once they determine what the final "losses are, pending the investigation".

This is not "Bankruptcy"... (Which is walking away, absolving yourself of all losses.)

Gox will be up and operational in a month or two... or three.. Tongue

If they do, that couldn't be a better sign for BTC... As a whole... and for GOX, being one of the few exchanges that could actually do it. Hope the other exchanges will have that ability...
419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 02, 2014, 10:19:59 PM
OK, so supposedly this guy DAVE says that he had a skype call with Jim and saw the 3.2TH (or 2.4TH model) hashing.

If this is the case, they should've had this installed.

http://www.ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder/
I don't suppose they make one for computers, do they?

Alright, that's snarky. But I hate macs Cheesy

Any old 56k modem is also a "phone answering machine"... Some have complex "press button 1 for assistance with _____ " options actually. (Some free software does this with any 56K modem. Has since old packard-bell days. Tongue)

They still have a use, after all these years! lol. But google-phone has some nice business options too. Just get a google-number for free, and upgrade it to a business-line with advanced settings. (Buried in the bowels of google itself, but they do exist somewhere in there.)

I got a sweet number.. (You get to pick the number you want, or search for a list of available numbers.) Was like this.. (But not this)... 6565454 (6565)(454) or (656)(5454) Tongue
420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 02, 2014, 10:13:12 PM
we're going to round up because you can't buy a fraction of a machine. This means that you need 7 Machines to get a little more hashing power than AMT. So while (BTC1.37 * 7 units * $560) = 5370.4 and that is a cheaper initial buy-in

So the Ant is cheaper. Thanks for confirming my facts.

Quote
, you and other champions neglect a key factor. (7 units * 360 watts) = 2520, more than twice the projected AMT power consumption (1200 watts).

And you forget the most important factor. Delivery date. Order the Ants and they'll be delivered in a few days. Order AMT, and they may deliver it someday. That delivery date more than makes up for the minor electricity draw difference.

Not when you factor in power-supply, labor connecting it all, some form of case... (Last time I checked, they didn't ship with power-supplies.)
