403  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 14, 2013, 07:43:59 AM
I spoke to Yifu today and it sounds like a lot of people will be receiving their chips in the coming weeks. He told me that pretty much all of the 3rd batch had shipped.

How did you "talk" to YiFu? He stated all this on his "news" release last week.

I "talked" to him by calling his "cell phone", not rocket science.. The number is actually on the Avalon press release.

Out of all the countless people that have been blowing up his phone over the past few days, he randomly decided to answer YOUR call. Huh. What are the chances?

You must feel lucky indeed...

Probably a number he didn't recognize, instead of ignoring all the "usual" ones Smiley

Luckily my network supports #31# before calling a number, that puts me into unknown caller..

Reading reports of other group buys getting their sample chips. Here's being cautiously optimistic Steamboat sees something arrive soon.

Optimistic? If he gets samples, its for batch 1. Past due six weeks. This would then render any other batch 100% useless for anyone receiving them.

This has always been a very risky adventure and everyone knew that.  Invest only as much as you're willing to lose.
As for the court stuff - forget about it. It's next to impossible (like suing YiFu in HK according to US laws?) and will be a waste of your money (unless you're a lawyer in which case you will be making money from the other losers and still not making BTCs).

Thank you for the motherly lesson, very well received. For me, i'm never interested in investing anything that I am willing to loose. If I invest, I do so based on trust most of the times, and trust is created due to past experience or past business that I was informed about, but never took part of (avalon batch 1-2). This agreement was based on 9-10 weeks delivery time, with sample chips after 4 weeks. They are in breach of contract and should pay for it.
And to inform you. Bitsyncom LLC is an american company, abiding by American Laws and regulations.

BOOM!

At this rate, my BFL asics will be unprofitable by the end of the year.

Yeah, my mini rig btc per day just went to ~BTC5 from BTC6.4  That is huge.
Next estimate is 86M, crazy numbers...That would put GPUs and FPGAs to rest.

Forget Avalons and BFL singles...,  you need bitfury, cheap, and lots of them...

Avalons making ~BTC4 a week now.

Look historically, always someone powered on some hardware around new diff update to offset the numbers.. i believe it to be asicminer..
anyway, this update will land on 55 i think. and the upcoming update will settle on much less than next estimate in a few days.
but it is for sure alarming with this much hashpower out there..

55?  no way, this huge quantity of ASIC stuff that ppl are paying way too much for, keeps selling out.  why would hash rate drop?

what are they going to do with it except mine bitcoins?

yeah, i wouldnt expect it to go to 75million, but it'll probably be 65m

didnt past updates happend in steps? like over a set of hours? thats what it looks like on http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/..
this would then mean 50 is first step, and 55 would be our current. but i might be wrong.
Also i meant upcoming foreseen update will settle on much less than the 88 it is expected to be now. not next update on 55. Cheesy
409  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Avalon batch 1 * 70 gh/s * Three available * US shipping * 78 btc each on: August 13, 2013, 07:52:41 PM

Can peeps help advise w.r.t. US law? How is that affected state to state? I will update above with any succinct relevant material as and when it's shared below. Thanks! Cheesy

Take note, swedish regulations differ B2C And B2B rights. If we as clients purchase a complete miner, its b2c. But if we only buy chips, its B2B company to company have different set of rules.
KonsumentVerket = The consumer Agency. Which only regulates the end client.

However if you have paid by card within the UK (and EU) at least;

Business to business sales, are consumer rights applicable?!

In short, yes, unless the company you are dealing with has specifically underwritten terms in their Terms and Conditions negating aspects of your consumer rights. This is known as an exclusion clause, and is yet another reason why Terms and Conditions should always be read and thoroughly discussed in your respective thread.

How do you know if the contract (business to business) takes away your statutory rights?

If the person who sold you the goods or services has taken away your statutory rights, there should be something in your contract about this. For example, it might say  the seller isn't responsible for goods that are unsatisfactory, don't match their description or aren't fit for purpose. Or it might say that the seller isn't responsible for any loss you've suffered because of their lack of care or skill. This type of content in a contract is called an exclusion clause.

http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/consumer_e/consumer_problems_with_business_to_business_services_e/consumer_protection_for_businesses.htm

This could be, but sweden has its own protection for the swedish consumers, to protect them. And it mostly only covers b2c inside sweden from what i know.

Shit! Difficulty approach 50 millions, and my AvalonB3 in way at while. Time to delivery estimated 1-2 weeks, and very possible growth difficulty to 70 millions for this time.
So, where I can buy voodoo dolls "Yifu" for Bitcoins? Now I have all another components for revenge: nitric acid, gas burner, shredder.

70 millions is optimistic. Next difficulty (estimate): 88,110,415 (source: http://bitcoindifficulty.com/)

Estimates on next adjustment right after an adjustment are spurious at best.  Give it a week before the actual hashrate starts to present itself and then a more accurate estimate can be had.

right, that projection is based on 0.45% of the dataset.  Smiley   (http://allchains.info)

Current Hash Rate: 610.145 TH,
Estimated in two weeks: 1023.518 TH

Amazing.

Edit: must be a mistake, can't be added that much in two weeks.

But historically, there has always been dumps before a new diff. update, and spikes just during the diff update.
Who in the world can arrange that? and why? the numbers wont be offset for long..

people calm down with your refunds ... there wont be any ... all we can do is wait ...

Any specific reason why you are speaking on behalf of Avalon?
I've said it before, lets solve world peace! LETS WAIT!
If we don't speak up, nothing will happend. Ofcourse. (and we will receive miners making $.10c/day.)
All we should do, is ask for refund, if no refund, ask for compensation, if no compensation, ask for more chips or gen 2 chips.
Waiting solves very little problems.

reason is im realistic, we got in this game, now we pay for it ... its simple ... no more pre-orders from now on, lesson learned

There's no reason for us to take all the risk here. We are not talking about an unregulated, unregistered american company. Thats what im stressing..
But if you want to take all the fault here and call it lesson learned. Well noted, i doubt the people with 10k+ invested in this shares your thoughts and views.

anyone naive enough to associate their real name with any significant bitcoin operation will be unpleasantly surprised.  Bitcoin is completely incompatible with modern western banking and legal systems.

I would say

Bitcoin is completely incompatible with banking and legal systems.

instead

So what you are saying, you can create a company, and if you charge by using bitcoins, no legal system can touch you?
Are you then also incorporating your company in bitcoinland?
If you have a corporation, it will be legislated by local goverment jurisdiction. No matter what monetary transactions you use to charge your clients.
Then yes, bitcoins has some control issues (kyc, and anonymous illegal transactions) and this is what governments are adressing.
The wallets, are slowly abiding by banking regulations, requiring kyc from you (passport and proof of address), this would then make it more legit in terms of regulations.
Corporations does not become lawless on the mere fact of being a bitcoin business..

What wallet requires your address or passport?

Bitstamp and Mtgox. Especially for sepa transfers..

I agree, something to compensate us for a month delay is not unreasonable.  Everyone but the purchaser is making money off this deal

It would be one month delay if batch 1 gets their chips NOW...
How many months for batch 2-3-4-5-6? (where i think batch 5 is 2 weeks delayed now, and batch 6 is just getting due mid next month, so batch 6 should start seeing sample chips around now).
