401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining in virtual computers on: May 27, 2017, 12:36:03 PM
What might be worth looking at are VPS services with free trial.

Yes, I was meaning this. To have free access to one or more VPS services. So, let us calculate with positive amounts only. Would that worth in a foresee-able time with any altcoin? Since you would not use the VPS for anything else, only the essential software (like OS, as it was mentioned) would come down from full power.

It could be either GPU or CPU mining.

Also, if it did not worth at all, why would be software such as Adylkuzz?
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining for the future on: May 27, 2017, 12:28:36 PM
Last couple months have been different though - my power capasity where I'm at now is capped, and I've been in negotiations for a new place (then availability got delayed when the existing tenant took a month longer to get moved out than the landlord was anticipating) so I had to save up cash for first-and-deposit while keeping enough around to keep the current place paid up....

So, could you move into your new home, at the end?
My acquaintance happened to be in a difficult situation too. She was supposed to move into her new place, but the existing tenant took more than a month longer than it was planned and in the same time my acquaintance's landlord wanted her to move out, already. Fortunately, she could find a place at her relatives until she could move on. She was not familiar with mining, though. But you were lucky to have have this income from mining to help your cause  Smiley

Your description suggests you are making your living from mining. Is that true?
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining for the future on: May 24, 2017, 01:50:39 PM
When you mine, do you consider the altcoin's current price only or "mine for the future"? The same amount of mined altcoin that does not look worthy now could worth much much more in the future. How do you consider an altcoin's potential when choosing what to mine?
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining in virtual computers on: May 24, 2017, 01:48:41 PM
Could mining in virtual computers ever worth?
Maybe using the virtual computer could cost less (or even free) than the amount you could mine with it.

What if you use several virtual computers?
The sum income could be considerable and let us not forget about the optimization such as spreading the work over a virtual network like parallel tasks.
405  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Recommend a language for this on: May 23, 2017, 10:59:55 AM
After analyzing the components, I came to the conclusion that I do not really need a framework for this project. As for the language choice, I have opened a new discussion, which also came to a conclusion. You can read more here.
406  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Development without framework on: May 23, 2017, 10:57:49 AM
First of all, Java (or Kotlin), or C# for that matter, should be a good language for this; you will have the ability to target mobile devices, AI, and decentralize when the time comes. Of course, if you're doing web interfaces, you're not getting around the requirement for HTML+CSS+JS (unless you use GWT or something). I can only really speak to the Java/Kotlin aspect of things though.

Now, why exactly do you think you will/won't need a framework for Java? You should consider the scope of your project, and whether there is a framework that is useful for it. If there is, and it saves you time or makes you more productive, use it. If not, don't. You can also separate your project into components--some may use a framework (such as Spring+javaEE for web-facing components) while others might use other frameworks or none at all.

I was thinking a few hours and I realized I should use Java. Since I do not have any mandatory .NET project in the visible future, but I will have a SpringBoot project due to my upcoming job, the benefits I expect from Java are:

  • sounds good together with JavaScript (even though the two haven't got much to do with each other),
  • minimal plus to my job,
  • multiple platforms,
  • know about good frameworks if need them,
  • has wide and good reputation
... and I could start without a framework.

Thank you for your advice! I think, that is all I need at the moment.
407  Bitcoin / Project Development / Development without framework on: May 22, 2017, 07:45:22 PM
I am developing a web application whose details you can read here. In short, it has to be mobile responsive, ability to have AI support and smooth shift from the centralized web server to a decentralized network when the time comes. I am developing the application alone, deadline is ~one more year, "target-market" is Uni professors (it will be a degree project), later traders in general.

I have ~3 years of experience with C# and a year of experience with Java. I have tried a few other languages too, but my preferences is Java for other reasons.

Recently, someone advised me that maybe avoiding framework usage would make things easier at this particular development.

How am I advised to start? Should I develop this application without a framework? What language?
408  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Recommend a language for this on: May 21, 2017, 09:10:34 PM
vue.js, meteor.js, riot.js, node.js

but it also can be .net

and main rule - use what you know best

Thank you! Although I have developed a bit with JS, I have more experience with .NET technologies and Java frameworks than with JavaScript frameworks. The issue is, my future job will request Java. So, developing in Java (and with a Java framework) would be better. Can we choose this option too, is there any modern, good framework with Java?
409  Bitcoin / Project Development / Recommend a language for this on: May 21, 2017, 10:45:09 AM
I am developing a web application, which I would like to decentralize later. This web application is an automatic program. Later, I wish to add a soft artificial intelligence too. Also, the web application could be mobile responsive. Current objective is to make the automatic part very good, but if possible, let us consider the other mentioned factors too. So, I would like to choose technologies for the mobile-responsive web application that are very good for that purpose but also will make the "decentralization" and "AI part" smooth later. What language and framework do you recommend to start the project?
410  Economy / Services / Re: Services in tailoring on: May 20, 2017, 08:58:29 PM
I can vouch for this service. I ordered an unique bandana from BARADED. I went first and you can see the result here. Communication was smooth, delivery was as quick as possible and quality is super. Actually, it is even better in real life than in the picture lol. You can feel the quality and effort that have been put into the product by a single touch. Thank you!
411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Alt2alt || alt2BTC on: May 20, 2017, 03:22:49 PM
Thanks to the high growing potential in alts, we all profit from time to time from investing into them. The question is not whether investing into alts worth, anymore, but that should we keep our funds in alts or exchange them back to BTC? According to your strategy, do you change from alt to alt (temporarily BTC) or prefer to withdraw to BTC?
412  Economy / Marketplace / Intentionally leaving my sales request out? on: May 20, 2017, 08:28:14 AM
At exchanges, I experienced that sometimes the order after and before my sell request gets completed, but my request does not. It is like someone would intentionally leave my request out. I could understand if a better request arrives, the buyer accomplishes that instead, but why does he choose the "worse" request after my one?
413  Economy / Marketplace / App hosting via the blockchain on: May 19, 2017, 08:43:43 PM
I know there are several platforms now that provide decentralized application hosting: EVM, EMC and partly Golem too.

Could we have an example collection? Oleg, the lead developer of EMC was kind to send me some examples and I also read EVM tutorials and of course I know the roadmap of Golem. I just want to see how some competitive market-products operate in these platforms and what the differences are.
414  Bitcoin / Project Development / Web applications and serverless applications on: May 19, 2017, 08:41:19 PM
Does anyone use EVM already? For what are this decentralized structure better than running your application from your own, well-secured server?

I read some EVM tutorials and it is all nice and interesting, but I did not understand why it was better than a good Unix setup.
415  Bitcoin / Project Development / Desktop bots VS web applications on: May 19, 2017, 08:37:41 PM
Bots, without an exception, I have seen so far were all desktop software. Of course, you could put them into a server and run them from there, but why aren't they web applications from the start? Wouldn't it be better for creators protect their product if it was a web service?
416  Economy / Exchanges / Why don't exchanges run their own bots? on: May 19, 2017, 08:35:01 PM
I have used bots some times and some of my friends are addicted to bots, I am just curious about this idea.

Why do not exchanges host the features in their own site as services,
why do they let 3rd party bots run instead of providing the possibilities themselves?
417  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Bitcointalk thread autolocker on: May 19, 2017, 08:28:44 PM
How can we put a time limit to any thread?
If we do that it will be locked when someone is replying and sharing some useful information.
What about if we set a timer and in the mean time we don't get the solution?
I am not saying that its a bad invention I really appreciate your work but if you want to be perfect then you should lock your thread manually.

What is the rate in $ you are selling?

You can unlock the thread, which was locked. As an extra feature, timer could be dynamically modified in the meantime. When you have several threads, maintaining them could become very difficult and no one wants his thread become a spammer hell. I am sure, you know the situation when people are saying the same thing again and again...
418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Sites that support more than crypto on: May 19, 2017, 07:58:47 PM
Do you know any trading site that -of course- has crypto, but also has other types too? Is there any site or web application that combines crypto trading with other kinds of trading? I wonder if traders here are into crypto trades only or have a wider range of interest in the topic.
419  Economy / Trading Discussion / What are your site-pairs? on: May 19, 2017, 07:54:39 PM
Using more than one trading site utilizes greater power than relying only on one. It has security reasons since if one of them gets DDoSed and you have funds elsewhere too, you probably are good with your trades. But it also adds new tactics (such as arbitrary trading). What are the trading sites you usually use in relation with each other and how?
420  Economy / Digital goods / Bitcointalk thread autolocker on: May 19, 2017, 07:47:10 PM
I have written a program, which can automatically lock my threads. There is a screenshot here. Would you find this program useful for a few dollars ($2-3 worth BTC)? I could add a few extra features such as exceptions, timed locking, auto-post before locking and so on.
