I see my account has been closed over there and i have no idea why they did that since my behavior has always been good with them in the past months. I had a liquidity provider bot running on their exchange and more then 27K $ deposited. I just found out other people had serious issues with them in the past so this looks very fishy and i seriously think they're running a scheme over there.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TO NOT DEPOSIT FUNDS ON CAMPBX UNTIL THEY GIVE US SOME EXPLANATIONS.
I contacted their support and will update as soon as they answer me.

They have been down since Thursday July 3, 2014. It is an obvious hack. I didn't have anything for sale, but do have some coin in my KYC'd account. How are you contacting support? They have been silent since supposedly thwarting a D-Dos attack on July 3, 2014 (per their twitter and facebook). You have more at stake on Campbx than I do. Although I haven't had any trouble with Campbx in the past; I am concerned. That chart where the price spiked is confounding. Let's get to the bottom of this. It's possible they got hacked, someone succesfully gained control of a huge $$$ supply and bought up all the orderbook in an attempt to cash out BTC as fast as he could.
But i don't get why they closed my account since i was not involved in the hacking attempt.
Maybe your account and those of others got hacked and they used your USD to buy up all the orderbook. Maybe CampBX doesn´t want to show that your account is empty right now. No my account has not been hacked i still can use API request to see my balance. |

Very good question.
Short answer: because they don't understand economics.
Is fair distribution really important?
Facebook stake was 100% premined and owned by the founder. Userbase has grown bigger and bigger creating value with their contents, then a lot of investors were more then happy to jump in the IPO enriching the greedy Zuckerberg.
Distribution is not really important, what really matters for an investor who considers switching $$$ for cryptocurrencies is network security, liquidity and volatility.

What type of requests exactly? The only one I use is https://api.bitfinex.com/v1/lendbook/usd (and the same for btc and ltc). And it's working. And yes, I received HTML bullshit with captcha about 12 hours ago. But now it's OK. Public API is ok for me too. Still doing my due diligence but I have about 10K sitting in my bank doing nothing and was thinking of signing up for BitFinex and provide liquidity to get some returns.
What are the risks and what are your guys thoughts?
It is very profitable but do it with money you can afford to lose. It is certainly very profitable in comparison to a savings account. It is not very profitable if you take your advise at heart and consider a real risk of losing it all. Think about the profit you would have made buying bitcoin at 450 on May 20th (possibly on 2.5:1 margin) and selling at 650 on June 8th. This would have been infinitely more profitable than having your funds lend out for whole 2014 and also bears the risk of losing it all. Buying on margin has exactly the same risk of losing everything as lending out those funds because in both cases you have to trust Bitfinex. And why do you assume that if he doesn't lend out he will be able to buy the bottom of the next swing up and sell the top? He might as well buy on margin at 610$ face a margin call at 400$ and lose everything according to your strategy. Buy some bitcoin (not on margin), hold some gold and also lend out some of your $$$ is my advice. |

I have the same problem here, it started some hours ago, i already contacted their support but no answer by now.
I experienced the same. But i discovered than during last 2 days my bot sended "ticker" requests every 1 second (or even 2 times per second) Fixed now. May be they just changed parameters of anti-DDOS system for "programmers with not straight hands"? Now i can send one request, but after that any others cause "incapsula incident". When i waiting about 15 minutes - one request is allowed again. On BTC-e, when API-cloud ban you for overloading, you have just to wait about 1 hour. May be here is the same? Who know, how long "auto-ban" stays? Wrote to support about 5 hours ago - no answer yet. My last succesfull request was 3 hours ago. |
