I also emailed them today, and I got this really disappointing reply:

Hi Gitle,

Thanks for the email. We do receive a fair amount of requests to support Bitcoin as a payment method. Unfortunately at this time we aren’t planning on adding it as an option.

We apologize for any inconvenience,

Weekly bump! Smiley

Remember, there's a 5% discount code in the first post of this thread!

Can you get hosts that have a side momentary button instead of a maintained endcap button?

I'm sorry, I don't know of any good laser hosts that has side-momentary button, and even if there were some, it would create some complications, like probably being unable to offer it as a kit that doesn't need soldering for assembly.
404  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Legal SILK ROAD: royalresearch.tk/ on: July 17, 2012, 04:52:54 PM
May be a scam, may be legit, but either way there are other and probably better RC shops out there. It's not going to be the "next silk road", and also the chemicals are not legal in all countries, beware.

Blue 1300mW laser and Red 250mW laser in stock.

And yet more are incoming.

Don't forget the 5% discount coupon on the front page, no one has used it yet Smiley

I want to order but it's always "out of stock"  Angry

I also want a green one.

I want to order but it's always "out of stock"  Angry

I'm sorry, the only laser in stock now is a 1300mW laser..

I've ordered more parts, but it'll probably be a few weeks before it arrives.

I'm aware that I haven't handled the stocks very ideally, but please understand that I'm just a student and don't have a lot of money, so I can't afford to order large amounts of stock. Also the interest isn't as high as I thought, there has been plenty of "I'm so tempted"-posts, but I've only made three sales with bitcoin so far, after several months. I've ordered a little ad in the next issue of bitcoinmagazine, and I'm noticing traffic going up, so maybe that'll change sometime.

Please do note though that I accept pre-orders, so that you can order an out-of-stock item or a custom laser, and I'll order the parts and ship it out. It takes longer than in-stock items, but it is an option if you are really interested in a certain laser.

EDIT: And there went the last blue laser too, heh. More should be in stock in less than a week though.

How long could I keep it on?

And could you send as complete?
I bought lasers from out of the country and it got here fine.

And I'll consider it

I don't have an exact duty cycle, but I'd stay under about 1 minute on, 20 seconds off, to be sure.

I could also install a driver with lower current for you, making the power less, maybe 800-100mW, but with very increased duty cycle, such as the Arctic.

I can ship it complete if you want, but you must understand that I cannot take responsibility if the customs does bust it..

Yes, because it only goes back to the people. (Maybe not 100% of it, but whatever).

I'll take a blue spinel, PM me with your btc-address.

Oh, and what's the shipping cost to Europe? Norway to be exact.

I have a co-worker who bought a WL Artic laser.

And it's pretty awesome, it Burns in instant and I can keep it on as long as I like.

Do you have something simliar

Yes: http://bitlasers.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=30

It is about 60% more powerful than the Arctic, at almost half the price! The only difference is that the arctic has better cooling, so you can't keep this laser on for too long at once.

Exciting news!

More blue lasers are now in stock. Specifically one 1300mW, and one brand new 1800mW laser, in a sexy stainless steel host, with a copper heatsink. It's not cheap, but it IS cheaper than a certain company's whimpy 1W Spyder Arctic  Grin

Check them out:

Oooh, I'm almost sold on the 1.8w.  Shocked
If only I got paid today...

Too late, someone grabbed it Smiley

On a sidenote: I am also discussing a cross promotion with another bitcoin shop owner. Discounts for the other shop will be available on purchase if we get a deal working.

Someone grabbed the last laser on the site. I will order more, at least some blue ones. It shouldn't take too long, maybe a week or so, for them to get back in stock.

I find this all very cool.
Though I just cannot understand why you would spend 260 dollars on a laser.

You're obviously not a nerd.
Or been waken up by a crow at 4am.

Out of curiosity Grix, do you know what the divergence of your beam is?

I've measured the 1300mW blue laser to be around 1.5 mrad on the fast axis. The divergence of the blue lasers are not ideal because of the multimode operation of the diode, but it's still low enough for most purposes.

Many items out of stock at the moment. I probably won't be restocking all the different lasers due to low interest.

So I'm asking you, which of the lasers listed on the site do you think would sell best? Which would you be interested in? Maybe something completely different than what is listed? Smiley

http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Spyder_III_Pro_Arctic_Series-96-37.html

Get that in stock and send it to Korea and I'll buy one.

My blue lasers are nearly twice as powerful as the Spyder Arctic, AND half the price.. They are quite honestly a steal in comparison.. Is it just the looks of the Arctic you want?  Undecided

I ship wordwide too.

Seriously? I honestly didn't know. I'll check those out then. I'm quite a newbie when it comes to lasers.

Yep Smiley The spyder arctic is notoriously underpowered, it's actually around 700-800mW even though they advertise it as 1000mW. I sell 1300mW and 1800mW lasers, both cheaper than the arctic.

And yet Wickedlasers makes tons of sales. If only every potential wicked lasers customer on this forum knew about the lasers I sell.. Smiley

Have a free bump

You should stock more SSD's, you're missing some of the best current models (imo), the Samsung 830 and Vertex 4.

I can only talk for myself, but my little store at bitlasers.com isn't doing too well. I've only made two sales since startup a few months ago. But I haven't exactly done much advertising, and it's a niche market, so your mileage will probably vary.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: low transaction fees, I don't think so on: June 15, 2012, 10:11:19 PM
The day bitcoin is truly mature is when there are enough services accepting them so that you would never have to convert to and from official currencies. Paypal sucks in many ways, but I love the fact that I can sell one thing for paypal and then spend it in various places without ever having to meddle with bank accounts and credit cards. When bitcoin is there, third party fees are irrelevant, because you wouldn't have to use any.
