401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB good to invest at price of 0.0019 BTC ? on: October 08, 2019, 02:29:48 AM
hi guys do u think BNB good to invest at 0.0019 BTC ?
my friend bought BNB at 0.0029 and he is in a big lost now
i was thinking to buy at current price but im afraid that BNB
fall more to 0.0012 - 0.0015 BTC

If you are doubting, do not do it. Listen to it. BNB at 0.0019 BTC is already high, at least for now. It has already risen with that price. You should have bought it at 0.0018. That was a cheaper bargain already. Right now, the line is already going up and it has already started. If you are planning to HODL it for a long time, then go ahead. But if you are just going to take a little profit from it in short term, wait for it to go down in a day or two from now.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: IS 5G AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CRYPTO TO GO MAIN STREAM? on: October 07, 2019, 04:08:17 AM
5G is for faster internet connection. It will help in so many internet-based applications but it will not help in the confirmation time of crypocurrency transactions. So, 5G is going to be useless if the network, for example Bitcoin network, is handling too much heavy traffic. In that case, it is the network and not the connection that has a problem. Even if you are using 5G if the transaction fee you are paying is the minimum, expect a slow processing. If you are using 2G and you are paying high transaction fee in your transaction, the processing will be swift. Add to this that confirmation layers vary in different wallets, some have 5 confirmations while other reach as high as 20.
403  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic situation around the world and Bitcoin on: October 07, 2019, 03:22:14 AM
Do you think this Economic situation will push More People into Bitcoin?

We know that countries like venezuela, ghana all Ready are Bitcoin adopters.

China USA  trading?  Do you think that has impact too?

Coz i think the gold market is about pop the bubble soon

Which economic situation? You're not specific here. It is not only Venezuela and Ghana that are adopting Bitcoin. There are many other countries that are already open for Bitcoin. This is just the beginning though. There are still countries that are not yet raising their green flag. Sooner or later they will join the Bitcoin community of nations.

The gold market does not and cannot burst the bubble because there is no bubble in the first place. And there is no necessary competition between the two. Bitcoin could be treated as a gold alternative just as it is also treated as a fiat alternative.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another PONZI scheme money frozen in bank account revealed on: October 06, 2019, 03:00:08 AM
maybe this is the umpteenth time, Indian Police, specifically tasked with dealing with cyber crime, in December 2018 has seized 452 Bitcoin worth $ 1.8 million and now Indian police again seized $ 1.2. The Bitcoin seizure came from one of the suspects involved in the Ponzi cover case. The government's weak attitude, coupled with the continuing delays in the fate of the cryptocurrency, further weaken the scope of crypto ecosystem maturity in India.

What you are saying is rather sad, especially because many Indians are active in the crypto community. This will really hamper their crypto activities. Do you happen to be an Indian?

The governments are seizing huge treasures in these cases. Although that Ponzi case is more than a valid reason for the police to intervene and stop its operation, I am afraid that the seized amount would not go back to their owners. I hope that the leadership of your country will soon give more tolerance to Bitcoin and accept it eventually.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: REQUEST FOR GAS FEE TO GET PAID ARE SCAM. on: October 06, 2019, 02:32:49 AM
Nowadays, even those projects that do not ask for gas fee or anything at all such as KYC are mostly scams also. So those that are requesting gas fees are more scam than the rest. It is not advisable to take unnecessary risks with these kinds of projects. Always remember also that there are only a small number of projects that are really pursuing a legitimate objectives. The rest are merely taking the opportunity to ride with the current crypto waves.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shill Me Your Altcoins on: October 05, 2019, 09:30:53 AM
If your choices of altcoins belong to the top 100, there is actually no need to explain. Their rank is enough explanation already in my opinion. They would not have climbed that high and passed by thousands of other altcoins if they are not the cream of the crop.

Ethereum (ETH) is my topmost choice. The rest include Monero (XMR), Litecoin (LTC), Bancor (BNT), Waves, Cardano (ADA), and Icon (ICX).
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't survive alone on: October 05, 2019, 03:46:12 AM
Over 850 millions of people use alipay as means of payment mostly in china and i heard lots about wepay as well, i come to think of it that what if bitcoin was been used in their places instead? if alipay and wepay can get to where they are today then altcoins have all the chances of survival as well. Wepay and Alipay are just online payment solution, crypto can do better.

Real use cases plus real life working products, let these two be your main focus when picking altcoins to invest your money on, do not listen to those saying 'dump altcoins for bitcoin' when you are holding solid altcoins

That is why we cannot fully compare Bitcoin with all the altcoins because they are different in the first place. The are the same in terms of being cryptocurrencies and built on blockchain but in terms of use and function, they may be world apart. It is not fair to just trash all altcoins because they are lesser cryptos than Bitcoin. There are so many ecosystems made and each of them could have its own crypto. There are more focused coins. Bitcoin is generally for overall spending. Most altcoins, on the one hand, are specialized for a specific purpose.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: demands on Ethereum on: October 04, 2019, 04:47:34 PM
Prominent Muslim scholars and financial advisors released a white paper declaring Ethereum “halal,” or permissible, according to Islamic Sharia law. The clarity for Muslim purchasers may stimulate additional demand for Ether.
source :
https://cryptoslate.com/ethereum-halal-muslim-scholars-eth-demand

i hope this news will be good for eth price, and make the price grow more than $200 again

We have yet to see the impact of this declaration to Ethereum's price, if it has. It has been months already since this news broke out and Ethereum is still as shaky as in the past months, always in attempt to put $200 a value of the past. If the Arab nations will be more developed in terms of cryptocurrency sooner or later, Ethereum will probably benefit from this declaration. But if this declaration will be extending to the other altcoins as well, then the competition will remain the same and there is no more special impact of it to Ethereum's price.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SC good to invest ? on: October 04, 2019, 04:07:49 PM
hi guys
do u think SC (Sia coin) good to invest at 20 sat ?
https://www.binance.com/en/trade/SC_BTC

I believe in the old solid coins more than the new ones. I mean, those that are moving forward with the development of their technology. Siacoin (SC) is of course one of them. Although they are facing new and innovative coins right now, they cannot be kicked out from the top 100 because they have already built a strong community of satisfied cloud storage users and investors through the years. I can even categorize Siacoin (SC) with Ethereum (ETH), Stellar (XLM), etc.
410  Economy / Economics / Re: How did the Bakkt launch go? Quick recap on: October 04, 2019, 03:23:00 PM
Alright so Bakkt launched this thing and then the price of Bitcoin sank faster than whale shit.   What happened?

How do I sign up and get an account at Bakkt?  Did Bakkt get rekkt?  Or did Bakkt do the rekkting?

My memory cannot count the threads on this topic anymore. It seems there is a new Bakkt thread made everyday now.

I would like to repeat that Bakkt is already talked about since more than a year ago and people were really excited about its launching. And yet there were countless of next times just as there were countless of Bakkt threads today. And that killed all the excitement and anticipation. When Bakkt was finally launched, there is very little buying and hard selling. That has kicked Bitcoin's ass rather badly.
411  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency! on: October 03, 2019, 03:31:52 AM
We don't even know how much are they owning for their country yet. They might own some but the question really is what is the main point on having them in the first place and until know all I see are just confirmations without any kind of actual detail on how much they have, what price they have bought it, and what are they really planning to do with it in the first place. I have posted on another topic related to Venezuela about how can Bitcoin save them from the hyperinflation they are experiencing and I really didn't believe that they are trying to go for it this fast. I still don't think it can save their assess on fixing their economy especially if they don't know how to trade their Bitcoins properly.

The whole issue has actually been severely muddled to the point that we cannot tell anymore which part of it is real news or which part of it is only the product of interpretation or rumor. I guess the Venezuelan government has not issued a clear statement on this. People are taking tiny hints and made everything explode with all their interpretations. There really are no resources released by Venezuela itself to clear all these.

If I may add, if the Venezuelan government thinks that this is going serve as the redeeming factor to their socio-economic and political woes, they are badly mistaken. They need to wake up.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin was Created by the CIA, FBI, US Military??? on: October 03, 2019, 03:05:59 AM
What if we start quitting all these conspiracy theories that repeatedly come out?

What if we try to trace the dots and begin to realize that the CIA, FBI, US military are committing a suicide if they actually invented Bitcoin?

What if we begin to promote, understand, and use Bitcoin more rather than indulge in futile speculations?
413  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Bring change into Africa? on: October 02, 2019, 06:17:30 AM
The  nature of Africa was decentralization! Africa was unite and great until  colonial masters began to centralize  everything. Now  all the resources is control by the  western world.  Now that the world is changing and  blockchain is bring back  decentralization to the world would Africa get  their  power back?

It will contribute of course. But it will not bring back everything in the past as if the blockchain technology will halt everything that is being implemented right now by what you call as the western world, much less erase a significant portion of history that is influenced by the so called colonial masters. At the end of the day, the blockchain technology itself is most probably a product of the western world, Satoshi being a westerner most probably.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If regulation never comes on: October 02, 2019, 05:46:22 AM
If regulation never come anytime sooner can we protect ourselves? how can we protect ourselves from crypto monsters hiding in disguise, especially bounty projects coming into crypto space with full force, any ideas ? I know many are going to say we should do better research before promoting projects, is there any strict blows we can give these monsters by ourselves ?

In the level of this forum, there is a certain degree of openness. Although some scam projects are red-tagged, there is really no paid staff or moderator that looks every single project coming in. If we want this forum to be cleaned up from these scams, everyone has to do his part. Especially bounty hunters, whose primary purpose in promoting a certain project is income, they are to be more careful and investigative in their research. You don't need to find protection from somewhere else, give it to yourself. Everybody can do it if they exert enough effort.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6th fresco crowdfunded with a Bitcoin QR code on: October 01, 2019, 01:37:52 AM
This one is amazing!

You are literally climbing up now, huh.

on the roof of the old gold fundry of the Bank of France.

But on the roof of the Bank of France?! Seriously?! Are they even aware that your painting is somehow subversive? Did they happen to get a look at the design and what else you are going to paint there before they gave their nod of approval?

Quote
Could you find what's the link to Bitcoin in the painting (besides the location and the QR)?

I cannot seem to find it. Poor me. Is it the sinking boat representing perhaps the old fiat system, signified by the sail which is made up of, or designed after, fiat currency bills?  Huh
416  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency! on: October 01, 2019, 01:00:29 AM
If this is true , then it has no impact on the market .
it would make some sense , if there are sanctions in place for their central bank. In this case I Imagine, they have problems buying stable currencies as USD and EUR. Then the logical thing would be to buy some crypto which is better than their local currency.

We cannot be sure which particular cryptocurrencies the Venezuelan central bank are holding. It could be Bitcoin or some altcoins or stablecoins or perhaps a combination of Bitcoins and altcoins. I guess this will have an impact to the market. Every single buy order will have an impact to the market and if an individual whale could cause a movement in the prices then a central could do it several folds. A central bank will not buy a couple of BTC only or a handful of ETH or a hundred of USDT.

418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you are Satoshi Millionaire? on: September 30, 2019, 02:51:04 AM
A lot of the forum members might think 0.01 BTC or $80 worth of bitcoin is not a big deal, but when you live in a third world country it is a big deal, because most people get like $10 a month and then they have to live from that. Most of these people do not have any disposable extra cash to buy bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

You can even get some people in 1st world countries with the same problem, because most of them are waist deep into debt. A lot of people are buying bitcoins on credit and that is their first mistake.  Angry

I come from a developing country. Although I do not belong to the bottom and I cannot speak on their behalf, I could say that 0.01 BTC or $80 is not really a big deal to the majority of us. Only that most of the people who are at my status do not have proper financial management. Yes, $80 is already a good amount to them but they could also spend it very quickly. They are spending around $2 of beer per bottle. And after calling it a night a group of poor people like me could consume 6 bottles in total, that would be roughly $16, not counting the food and packs of cigarettes.

If only these people know to manage their finances well, and set aside daily savings, or invest a portion of it to BTC or others, they can have a good amount of profit waiting for them in the future.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra in Facebook on: September 30, 2019, 02:16:39 AM
I urge caution for anyone trying to buy Libra.  I have s near escape. I saw an advert on Facebook and was thinking of getting some. But I remember reading that Libra is not launch.  It seems that Facebook dun really check on the authencity of the adverts. After this incident I saw 2 more different adverts from Facebook selling Libra!

It helps a lot to read a little here and there about the latest news about crypto. It will not only help you keep updated about the latest developments, it will also keep you relatively safe from scams such as this.

We can read even here in a crypto forum about pathetic members asking where to buy Libra, how to buy Libra, whether it is a good investment, or they will HODL it because it is owned by a very popular company. This kind of individuals are likely to fall to the Libra scams found not only on Facebook but in other social media platforms also.

That where they get the idea of selling a non existing token - from people trying to know where to buy Libra despite it not launched yet. They tend to buy advertising just scam, didnt they ask documents to people advertising it facebook?

It is however an indication that people are really up to own some of Libra even it being just a stablecoin and were stopped by EU countries.

On the contrary, that is an indication that people are not doing their research. It speaks a lot of laziness. These people are reading one-liner here and another one-liner there and receive everything assuming that it is what it is, which is clearly not the case. For sure, they do not even know what Libra is currently facing right now. They even do not know Libra at all.
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ATM Operators in Nevada Requires License to Operate on: September 29, 2019, 03:12:14 AM
US State of Nevada Financial Institutions Division has recently issued a statement concerning the need for the protection of the general interest in view of the increasing adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

The regulator's statement implies that even Bitcoin ATM operators are required to get their licenses before they can legally operate.

According to the NFID,

"Any entity that facilitates the transmission of or holds fiat or digital currency by way of brick-and-mortar,
kiosk, mobile, internet or any other means, should contact the NFID to request a licensure determination."

This is not an unusual news. You try to put up a business under the bright eyes of the government, you will be asked about compliance. And if you are planning to stick to it, you've got no other option but to submit to their policies, all in the name of public protection and of the general interest.

All you can do is murmur and whine silently not so much because of what they are asking from you but because of the ever-handy protection of the general interest overused by the government.
