1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Media is negative about Bitcoin? on: March 23, 2018, 04:45:49 AM
Whenever a government announces to regulate bitcoin or cryptocurrency or whenever BTC price is in downfall, most of the media start to warn everyone not purchase or invest in Bitcoins.
https://www.bitex.in/a-class-of-indian-media-unnecessarily-damaging-bitcoin-reputation/

What is the reason for doing this? Do they intentionally do this so that even they can invest in Bitcoin and make some profit?

I don't think the primary reason why the media spreads more of the negative news about Bitcoin rather than the positive ones is that they really want to invest in it once the price is already cheap. I think they are more of the side of their benefactors rather than on the sheer truth. This is true about media not just with regard to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, but also about social issues, issues that have to do with the governments, and so forth. The media are always one-sided; they side with the powerful bodies supporting them. And then there's the ignorance of the majority of the media about crypto and Bitcoin.
1023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think HODL is bad for your health? on: March 23, 2018, 12:47:32 AM
I find it kinda hard to HODL when the marketing is bearish... there is a lot of stress:p
Do you think going HODL might be bad for the health?Smiley

Hodling is bad for your health, I mean hodling your breath for a long time. LOL.  Grin

Kidding aside, why do you have to blame hodling for the deterioration of your health? You know what, it is not hodling that gives you stress actually. It is the emotional loads that you insist on carrying when you do not have to. There is no need to get stressed just because you are hodling in times of a bearish market because hodling is the best option available. When you are doing the right thing, you should not get stressed. Instead, you will be feeling hopeful and positive because of it.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: March 22, 2018, 01:01:32 PM
If you always look back at the past prices of Bitcoin, you cannot avoid thinking that you are too late for the party. But if you look the other way around, you would think that you are still very much early in the party. A bigger crowd is still coming after you. Case in point is your case itself. You were thinking you are too late to join the party in October last year because the price of Bitcoin was already as high as $5,800 and yet barely weeks from that time, Bitcoin has already managed to double its price. And then days from that point, it has already made its price triple. The lesson is to look forward, and, of course, join as early as possible.
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum under $400 will be a good buy or ? on: March 22, 2018, 11:26:51 AM
It seems pretty much confirmed we can see Ethereum going under $400 these days.

Qn - Is it a good buy under $400 or wait for even more price drop?

Why, of course! If Ethereum comes down below $400, I might try my best to have some extra money to buy as much Ethereum as possible. The larger question, however, is whether or not Ethereum will go down any lower than that. Personally, I don't think Ethereum will fall down on that price anymore. While there is still a possibility because Ethereum is really decreasing in price even as of this very moment, Ethereum has already gone down really low since the time it achieved it all time high in December of last year. Most probably, we will be seeing an increase instead.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end? on: March 22, 2018, 09:18:33 AM
Bitcoin right now keeps on increasing its value, and many more cryptocurrencies are occurring.
Do you think someday bitcoin will end or will be replace by other cryptocurrencies?

Is it too late to invest?
Is there a chance that bitcoin will be down?

Bitcoin and the other alternate cryptocurrencies are still considered young. Although Bitcoin has been ahead by several years in existence as compared to the alternate cryptocurrencies, it is still considered one in young age with the entire cryptocurrency world. We will still see a much stronger and more influential cryptocurrency in the near future. We have to consider that the influence of crypto is still very small and almost exclusive. It is all right for anyone to just join the crypto ride right now. There is still so much things in store for us here in the crypto world. Bitcoin is the top and will remain to be so in the future.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency on: March 20, 2018, 09:53:59 AM
Seems like most people just want to become super rich in a short period of time.
If you don't believe in this new technology, and just want to earn quick money, I think you will probably not achieve what you want.
All I want to say is be patient, live your life, and don't get too emotional by all the negative news/FUD. Yes, crypto might be ended in a really bad way and you lose most/all your money. But if you truly believe in the new technology, just invest the projects you like the most and hold until it gets mature and returns.

This is one post worth meriting. As far as I am concerned, I sincerely believe in cryptocurrency and its future. I truly believe in certain crypto projects as much as I do not in some others. I am a strong fan of several crypto projects which I truly believe is helping the society in one way or another by trying to address certain problems using the latest available technologies. The unfortunate side here is that we are the early birds. We are the future. Crypto is not yet on its fullest. That is why we have seen great projects not working as designed and expected. We have to patiently wait.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Just RELAX, it will be OK! on: March 19, 2018, 06:46:20 AM
Why are people panic selling right now? Scared of a little regulation? That is bull! G20? All they might do is AML prevention. If you are not laundering money, nothing will happen to you!! And we don't want money launders in our midst anyway! Chillax, it will be OK!

The truth is that the majority of those people who are in the panic mode right now do not really know a thing or two about what Bitcoin is potentially facing as of the moment. Neither do they know about what specific regulations are most probably be implemented with respect to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. G20? They do not know it either, even its meaning. What they only know is that the price of Bitcoin is falling down. And that is very shallow yet good enough for them to panic and sell. It is all right. Let them get out.
1029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin price change? on: March 16, 2018, 03:24:07 AM
I know im probably missing something but im wondering if bitcoin price should even increase, or any price really, because when someone buys bitcoin it creates demand so price increases if im correct but when the person is buying isnt someone else selling? shouldnt this decrease the price so now the price is back to its base? This has me really confused and i have thought about it for a few days and couldnt come up with an answer, someone please tell me the answer.

This is how it works, buddy. There are sellers and there are also buyers. But the selling price or ask price is always higher than the buying price or the bid price. Now, if the demand is growing, that means there are more buyers than sellers. What does this imply? It will make sellers increase their selling price because their previous prices were easily bought and consumed by the growing number of buyers. If this ratio of buyers much bigger in numbers than the sellers continue, this will cause the prices to go higher and higher. It does not actually matter whether there are only few sellers because the bigger the demand is the higher the price will also grow.

Say, for example, Joe has $10,000 and he is buying BTC. If there are more sellers than buyers, the sellers cannot easily ask a bigger price and so Joe can have a full BTC for his money. Now, if the buyers like Joe are more than the sellers. The sellers could then increase their price and instead of getting a full BTC for his $10,000, Joe could only afford 0.5 or 0.3 BTC. It is because the demand is so big.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As a beginner is it too late ? on: March 16, 2018, 02:13:27 AM
Hello,

I'm still learning about crypto currencies and willing to buy some bitcoins. Is it good time to buy?

Thanks

Learn more about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin and let your learning take the lead and decide for yourself. It is better if your readings will tell you exactly the best decision to take. As for me and for the rest of us here, I believe the answer will always be yes. The timing is not that vital if you really believe in Bitcoin and the idea it is trying to spread across the world. The idea behind the project will not pump or dump even if the price does. The idea will always spread out little by little and it is always up to the people to decide whether they will buy Bitcoins or not. When it comes to its price, do not worry, it will always bounce back.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sending in fake ID for KYC on: March 16, 2018, 01:07:56 AM
I just was brought up to speed on groups of people sending in fake/Photoshopped ID's by scanning public records to defeat the KYC process and it seemingly is very easy to do.  It appears that many people sent in fake documentation to the Bob's and Polymath KYC and had no hassles.  How do these companies verify people if all they have to go on is public information?  Did they even really check the ID's or were they simply collected the data?  How rampant do you think this is?  How many of us are complete fools for turning in our documents when others simply faked it.  Now they have our data and the people who faked it are still secure.

NOT FAIR.

How sure are you that there are in fact people who sent fake identification documents? Do you have any basis in saying that there are indeed groups of people who are doing this? A reference may well support your serious allegations.

Anyway, if this is true then the KYC/AML are mechanisms that are futile and will not really serve the purpose to which they are designed for. I was also thinking of how effective this is. If all they need are IDs then everybody can easily secure one from anywhere else without really divulging their real identities.
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: panic or to be calm on: March 15, 2018, 04:22:06 AM
the more days the bitcoin price slumps down, how do you think, whether the price will stabilize or it will keep falling down ,, seems like I'm getting scared Angry

I am not certain whether the price of Bitcoin will continue to slump down in the next days or start doing a U-turn and will instead be directing upward. I hope it will be doing the latter. However, this is for me immaterial. What is important for me is the performance of Bitcoin in the longer run. This slump down of the market is definitely just a movement on a short-term basis. We have been through this kind of slump down over and over again and yet we always see Bitcoin emerge very much alive and unscathed and even returning with a lot more strength.
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: March 15, 2018, 02:45:34 AM
Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?

I am afraid of hackers of course. Everybody is afraid of hackers. I mean the bad hackers. There are some good hackers I suppose. The ones who do not hack people's money, Bitcoins, altcoins, and personal information. But to those bad hackers, is there anyone who is not afraid of them? Even the banks and the governments and the intelligence agencies and the military are afraid of hackers. And they are hiring hackers also to counter all the moves of the bad hackers. What to do then? If you are not a hacker yourself and you do not know how to get away from them all the time, then you probably have to use all the available means to stay safe.

1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: March 14, 2018, 08:28:43 AM
I was asked by a friend why I don't promote Bitcoin { why i hated it} but love promoting altcoins. My reply was that Bitcoin can't give me 1000-5000% ROI in 2-3years time anymore but with altcoin that is possible.

I notice that each time I promote Bitcoin, I'm giving the early investors easy passive income why I settle for chicken gain.

Honestly I will prefer $50,000 in altcoins (with possible potential, underpriced and undervalued) than in Bitcoin.

Do you hate Bitcoin? Give reasons why you do or don't

I have Bitcoins. My reason is that Bitcoin is the biggest coin there is in the entire world of cryptocurrencies. And while you may be true that there are altcoins that grow a lot faster than Bitcoin, Bitcoin is still the top coin if you want to invest in the safest choice. With new altcoins, of course the growth is much faster than Bitcoin because they are still new and their price is still at the starting point while Bitcoin has already grown so huge in the past several years. Another reason is that apparently Bitcoin is still the most accepted as payment.
1036  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning Strategy on: March 14, 2018, 06:42:34 AM
The ultimate strategy here really if you want to earn without shelling out a certain amount of a starting capital investment is to have personal discipline, determination, hardwork and patience. Nothing can beat a person who has the mentioned virtues. There are so many opportunities to earn here. What you really need to do is to possess the necessary virtues in order to gain success. You may not be spending a single dollar to earn this way but you will be spending a good deal of effort as well as time and sacrifice to be able to do this.
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl or do I realize the loss? on: March 13, 2018, 03:29:26 AM
Hello to all,

I invested in Crypterium ICO a lot of money, from business plan I was going to keep CRPT Token until Q3 2018. We are still in Q1 is true, but mathematically, according to my calculations, CRPT token can not reach the result I was hoping for. I made about 90% loss from the amount invested. What do I do? Do I continue to Hodl or do I realize this huge loss? To get back on track I need at least 2/3 full points and I do not think the token can do it.

Did you invest in CRPT? Do you think you can do it?

If I am not mistaken, Crypterium was a huge success in its ICO, ending in a sold out. This is one indication that the project was a brilliant one and will most probably be going to meet its objectives. This is in addition to the fact that it has raised a big amount of money for it to be able to sufficiently fund all its aspects of development. Perhaps we need to wait for this project to truly prove its worth. For now, not even a decent exchange site lists CRPT in its platform. First things first, they need to get CRPT on a major exchange site.

1039  Other / Meta / Re: My bitcointalk account was stolen on: March 13, 2018, 01:13:36 AM
So, a long time ago I was a regular visitor and contirbutor to bitcointalk, last posted back in Sept 2014 when I had a change in circumstances leaving me with no time to chat. I came back only to find there is a guy using my account. Has this happened to anyone else?  Something fishy going on, I had a secure passowrd on the account

Username:   davida
Profile:         https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=80189

I will send him a private message to see what he has to say, but I'd love to hear your guys thoughts on this!

There are so many hacking incidents of bitcointalk accounts here. Especially with regard to your account, I suppose it has become a target of account hacking because it was dormant for quite a while. You need to direct message the one using it now and then wait for his response. If there is no response, then you will make a thread on the accusation stating your case. I can also see that the one using your account is a participant of a particular campaign. You also have to inform the manager of the project that the account is a stolen one.
