4041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin not yet at $100k, why? on: May 04, 2021, 04:08:59 AM
$100K is going to be difficult to crack. I think that most people will want to take some profits at least at that level. I am pretty sure it will take a few tries before we break $100K. I think many will start to sell some in the 95-99K region because they assume $100K won't break.

I think those that invested at $19K when it seemed that Bitcoin was going to break ATH will most likely be taking some profit in that area. Same with the people who bought at $33K and those that invested recently at $50K. So you need to be cautious and understand that this won't be an easy target to break.

I think we will stall first at $100,000 AUD and CAD which will happen around $80K USD or so.
4042  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Dominance Update on: May 04, 2021, 04:06:32 AM
Tesla selling bitcoin is old news. It was originally bearish however given that they only sold 10%, people considered it pretty bullish. They sold for 2 reasons. One was to test liquidity to make sure they can exit the entire position without moving the market and the rest was they needed the cash for something else, hence why they sold some of it.

Its not bad to take profits from time to time so its understandable what they did. You all should take profits even if its just 10%. Sure it might rally from here however if it topped $65K at least you don't want to be holding the bag for years without taking any profits along the way.
4043  Economy / Speculation / Re: May 13th, Bitcoin will surge to $70k or it will be dump? on: May 04, 2021, 04:03:33 AM
This will most likely be like the Apple earnings which were also suppose to put Bitcoin on balance sheet, so we rallied to the earnings and then when we heard that they didn't buy Bitcoin, we dumped hard and alot of longs got stuck.

I heard this rumor and have no idea how it started. I think someone on Reddit posted it without any actual proof and it just took off. Maybe I would believe it if it was like $500 million or so however $20B is just ridiculous and I don't believe they would buy that much. If they were to buy it they would of bought it a long time ago not at $50K. I am pretty sure its a rumor.
4044  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to make money countertrading high leverage degenerate traders... on: May 03, 2021, 03:48:51 PM
Today there was a crazy liquidation event due to his streams. On Bybit there was a nasty wick all the way down to $54500 while on spot exchanges the low was $57500. The guy was on a roll, tons of viewers copying his trades. His mistake again was showing his stop loss public. The whales knew his stop loss but worse they knew the stop loss of all the viewers. Here is the video stream,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baJ_sfJ9tac

His stop loss for BTC was at $57800 and stop for ETH was $3124. Then the cascade long liquidation started right after his stream ended. Basically when his stop was hit so was the stop for tons of other traders and in that 1M candle there was $340M volume. The ETH pair didn't have such an event. Which means most traders copied his BTCUSD trades.

If you bought the wick you would of been in good profit. Probably would of been difficult to get an order in however.
4045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum price will now go down again after reaching 3k? on: May 03, 2021, 05:12:06 AM
I would of agreed with you however what is strange is that this rally is being led by the spot markets and not derivatives like in the past. Means that more people are buying ETH on spot instead of on high leverage, and hence it means that the chances of a huge rug pull are smaller and longs seem safer.

In the past when BTC would break new ATHs the funding was very high and usually shortly after we got a nasty rug-pull and we moved back 15% in a matter of hours. Usually a cascading of long liquidations however now that doesn't seem to be the case. The funding is flat.
4046  Economy / Speculation / Re: The total BTC balance on exchanges continuously decreasing since 2020 on: May 03, 2021, 05:09:26 AM
What will be interesting is what will happen when BTC balance on exchanges will start an uptrend. Obviously when that happens it means that a top either occured or will occur however the question is when will that happen with relative balance on exchanges increasing.

Someone did an analysis of this last cycle and I think the balance on exchanges started to increase and it was still far off from the top of $20K. So hence this isn't always an accurate indicator. When BTC hits $100K most likely more people will deposit into exchanges to take profit, but it doesn't mean $100K will be the top.
4047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell your Bitcoins or die - Bitcoin to $5000 soon - Fiat is best alternative on: May 03, 2021, 05:05:56 AM
If you really think its going to $5000 then there is a way you can easily make big money off it. Just go to Deribit and buy some puts. Currently you can buy a $12000 Put for only $150

So what that means is that if BTC is $5000 by the end of the year that put option would be worth $7000. So a small $150 investment would yield at least $7000. So if you are so convinced that it will hit $5000 this is a great way to put your money where your mouth is instead of creating FUD for no reason.
4048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Virtually 10.000 coins out there. Where to find a mining overview? on: May 03, 2021, 04:44:45 AM
There are 10000 coins out there however maybe less than 100 are mineable. Most are tokens these days. Tokens are basically created and sold as an ICO and those you can't mine. You can only mine ETH which is the network that these tokens are run on.

Besides BTC/BCASH 95% of people mine ETH mostly. There is LTC and DOGE but you need ASICs for that. Then there are ETH forks like ETC which is unprofitable due to ASICs and there is XMR which is only good if you got a high end Ryzen CPU.

So just go to the calculator posted above and insert your GPU and power costs and it will give you a good estimate how much you will make.
4049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MacOS recommendations? on: May 03, 2021, 04:40:53 AM
Thanks all, great info.  OK so that makes more sense now, its MacOS itself which is a limiting factor so best to use Windows via Bootcamp or Linux boot-USB/OS to maximise the gpu.

Any thoughts on HoneyMiner?

Which iMac do you have exactly? Unless its one of the newer ones I don't think it will be worth it to mine. People almost never mined on a Mac. Hence why there isn't much resources about this.

Bootcamp most likely won't work since it technically still runs off OSX. You need to do a direct linux boot usb. From there your biggest issue however will be finding working graphic drivers, once the drivers are installed the rest should be easy.
4050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to choose between these two on: May 02, 2021, 04:46:44 AM
AMD cards will be in trouble once ETH switched to PoS algorithm because they are less profitable on other algorithm that isn't ETHASH, as for Nvidia they are way better because they supports other algorithms that are more profitable, most especially this RTX2080Ti the card is very good for other coins, go for the RTX2080Ti

This isn't always the case. Sure back in late 2017 early 2018 you would of been better off with Nvidia because it had higher speeds with Equihash and a few other algos. However back in 2013....2014 nobody used Nvidia to mine any scrypt based coins like Dogecoin or Litecoin.

I found it odd why only AMDs were used in 2013 but its because they were the most efficient and Nvidia just couldn't compete in that department. Hence why most people mined with AMD gpus back then. So who knows what will happen in the future when ETH goes POS.

There might be nothing worth mining and you will just need to sell your GPU on eBay or there will be some new algo however the efficiency might be the same as the AMD or worse. You can't predict these things.
4051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is dogecoin suitable for kids? on: May 02, 2021, 04:01:47 AM
Dogecoin is a good starter coin because with low fees you can easily move it back and forth and not have to worry about any fees. Its actually the reason why it survived all these years. Due to high fees on many networks, many gambling sites started to offer Doge because the transfers are near free and fairly quick and the network is very secure.

So you can send her $5 worth or so and she can send those $5 to 5 of her friends and the fees will be low. And worst case scenario she loses her private key or it get stolen due to hackers then its a small loss.

I don't think kids should hold large amount of BTC or ETH because there are just way too many scams these days.
4052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can doge coin reach 1$ this year? on: May 02, 2021, 03:57:54 AM
Since the market cap is very high, it would be very difficult for it to actually stay above $1 for long periods of time. I don't think it would be sustainable. However with Elon going to pump Doge on SNL it might actually easily break its prior ATH of $0.45 and head to $1.

Many people are short and they will most likely cover if they see him pumping Doge on the show. Many Americans got robinhood these days and they can easily buy it on there instantely. When they buy on robinhood the market makers need to hedge the trade with the crypto spot markets. Hence it would cause a huge squeeze.

So its possible however just not sustainable.
4053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull market is back? BTC is 57k on: May 02, 2021, 03:54:42 AM
This is pretty much a repeat of 2017-2018 and how many semi-early adopters ended up with nothing by end of 2018. There were a few people who got lucky and invested in BTC at like $3000 back in early 2017 and they took big profits when it hit $20K. Then they reinvested it in ICOs and made even more profits.

However the issue was that greed got in the way. What started out as a small $10K investment turned into $500K and people wanted more and more. And they kept reinvesting all their money into these ICOs until eventually in beginning of ICOs most were scammed and didn't rally like the previous ICOs and they ended up with nothing pretty much.

Then ETH going from $1400 to $100 ended up cleaning out even more people. Hence if you got profits, just withdraw it instead of investing in anything this late of this bull market you might get burned.
4054  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Bitcoin support! Fall or rise? on: May 02, 2021, 03:40:24 AM
There has been a very good momentum in the market from April 25 after price reached $47k and for the past 7 days the price has been slowly rising but with a strong buy support and a solid volume. The new FUD didn't seem to be successful and so far the bear-manipulators lost a lot of money for the whole week.
If the momentum is kept the price could be above $65k by the end of next week.
The FUD machine has been going on strong and despite all of this the price of bitcoin does not budge at all, this is a good sign however I must confess that I am worried because of what we are seeing in the market of altcoins at the moment, we are already seeing huge levels of speculation there and this is bad because it is distracting people from bitcoin and sooner or later this is going to generate a crash that could create another crypto winter we will have to endure for years.

Alt rallying doesn't mean anything this cycle. They have been rallying on and off for the last 6 months or so. Its different because in 2017 it was mostly BTC rallying entire year, then alts rallied alot and then everything dropped. This cycle is a little bit different because we either have alts rallying with btc, or vice versa or sometimes they are both rallying.

So since BTC topped $65K a few weeks ago and alts like ETH are running down, it doesn't seem its like 2018 where everything just rallied like crazy and popped. The rally was much stronger in 2018. The only coin that rallied really hard is XRP and DOGE. Everything else is just going up slowly and steady.
4055  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3.6 Billion in Bitcoin Options Expire Friday April 30 2021 on: May 01, 2021, 05:14:18 PM
This options expiry was actually in some way useful compared to the previous expirys. The previous expiry all have a max pain which was far away from the spot price. This expiry had a max pain of $54K which was around were we traded around expiry time.

So how does this help you? Well it means that a week prior, the market makers might of brought BTC down to $54K which is max pain. When the options expired they had to close their hedge and we went right back up. Hence it would of been a good trade if you followed this months option expiry.
4056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price prediction 2021 on: May 01, 2021, 05:09:24 PM
His BTC prediction is the most accurate, however some of his predictions like ETH at $22000 or XRP at $0 make no sense.

There are way too many people coming here who have no idea how the market cap works. These same people think that Dogecoin is going to go to $10. They have no idea how many coins are out there. It’s easier for doge to pump from 1 cent to 10 cents than it is to go from 10 cents to $1 or $10. Even if celebrities are pumping it on Saturday night live.

Hence its post like this where if we topped at $65K I wouldn’t be surprised and even if we revisited $20K a few months down the line. Too many bullish people out there.
4057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull market is back? BTC is 57k on: May 01, 2021, 05:05:09 PM
This rally is very strange however. It’s different from the other rallies. Most of the other rallies into ATH lead to high funding rates. Funding is completely flat right now which is strange.

So it seems most of this rally is with spot buying instead of derivatives which is a good sign. Means there is some huge buyer on coin base and with earnings coming up might lead to a similar rally like we had a few months back.
4058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alternative coins to trade now on: May 01, 2021, 05:02:23 PM
The only coin that is a large cap that hasn’t rallied too much is LTC however it’s with the BTC pair and not USD. Looking at most of the top 10 alts there is really not much out there.

I think it’s a good trade if your goal is to stack sats instead of just making fiat. I have a feeling we might be near a top sooner than later and buying ETH at $3K seems risky. If it undergoes another 90% loss we might see $150 ETH which would be a huge loss.

If you buy LTCBTC if BTC tops you can at least regain some sats if there is a pump into the top. Similar to 2017.
4059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin do you invest and which coin in May to have a good profit? on: April 29, 2021, 06:56:09 PM
The only coin which I think might give a good run that is left is Litecoin. The LTCBTC pair looks like it can easily break and head higher. Right now pretty much every alt coin already rallied there is nothing left except LTC.

I think the whales are slowly accumulating some LTC while selling ETH and we will see that on the LTCETH chart. Doge, XRP, ETH everything pretty much pumped already. I would be surprised if LTC didn't. There really isnt much out there to buy.
4060  Economy / Speculation / Re: The total BTC balance on exchanges continuously decreasing since 2020 on: April 29, 2021, 05:49:52 AM
One thing you need to consider is this. Back when BTC was at $5K or so. If you had 0.50 BTC on an exchange it was only worth $2500. Now half a coin is still worth over $26K. So you need to understand that many people probably decided to get hardware wallets or some sort of cold storage setup since it was very risky leaving huge amount of BTC on a centralized exchange.

I think when people read about these sim swap attacks they all decided to protect themselves and invested in a hardware wallet. They are very easy to setup and use. Much better than using a paper wallet from 5 years ago. So one reason could be that institutions are putting it on cold storage and another is that people are just keeping less coins on exchanges for security.
