They're not /that/ interesting once you factor in the hefty btc price jump variance. Remove that and you're left with 30-40% trade profits, which many other settings are also providing. They're good, I'm just saying it's not a goldmine unless you did this exact thing starting over a year ago.
If btc holds at current values for the next year (hypothetically), for example, the trade profit would be single digit.
It's a great example of the power of the bot long term, which is the point of it to begin with.
Hmm, not sure I agree with you there as the trading volatility is an inherent part of the system, not a real far out event. Still, my point was to counter the idea that Butter only focuses on Fiat profit, it's job is to maximize depending on the market trend as shown above . Pablo, how is the bot downloading the trade data? I've been working on something and would love the raw data it uses to create the EMA output.
Sure, let me talk to the developer and see what we can do . Drop me an email and I will be glad to get back to you about this ASAP . Pablo.

7900% beats B&H by almost 200% These are quite some interesting settings! I think we should be looking at these more closely, the great part is that they are long term results on a long term liquid exchange, it's really quite interesting and quite an improvement on Buy and Hold. If my numbers are right, you could have purchased 8.66 BTC with 100 USD at start which at last EMA trade would be worth 2,666 USD, but you are holding (also at last EMA trade) over 7,000 USD worth of BTC. Where is all this loss of BTC Butter causes? Butter is a tool and it must be viewed and used as such. You need to invest time in developing your strategy and learn about the trading engine (EMA); our job is to provide you (the trader) with as many tools as possible to help you succeed and develop your strategy (altcoins, alternative strategy modules, back testing , etc.) but the onus is on the trader to put in the hours; just like in all trading . It might be interesting if we could work on this automated settings adjustment idea and see what we come up with. Pablo.

Pablo, can you check Below settings yesterday were : And today are : Maybe this will change by tomorrow too ? Hi Zubillica , This is the reason we encourage you to back test 6 months or more, results over the short term, 1 week or one month are way too variable precisely because of these mean deviators we keep talking about, you will see more constant and reliable results over 6 months or more. Please let me know if you need anything at all. Pablo.

I just want to thank you for your effort here. Very professional no doubt. I'm a noob in trading and just found out about this bot. If the thing works during this week I won't hesitate about buying it Please let me know if you need anything at all . Pablo ( Pablo@Butter-Bot.com)

is there any way to see the tests with bitcoins rather than dollars? i want see how effective the bot is getting bitcoins, because its easy get 5000% profit due to price rise, but i want see how many bitcoins i would win,
Hi Luicon, Not right now, but that feature is in the pipeline . Pablo.

If I did something wrong, i apologise in advance, but i'm just not seeing that performance.
Tick offset can make a big difference. For 2 hour strategy, it seems we should try at least 180 different tick offset settings... maybe one day butter will do this for us to find the best setting?? Automated strategy adjustment is actually something we are interested in, but it is very resource intensive to implement. We will be looking into this once we have pushed out hosting, altcoins, etc. and our pipeline is a little bit looser . Pablo.

Maybe there should be an extra layer of clicks required to access the TSL field that require users to check a box that says something to the extent of "enable expert feature", or "enable experimental feature", and have a warning dialog pop up when doing so with an "OK" button that forces users to acknowledge that they know using the TSL function is not recommended for normal use.
That's a good idea, we are actually working on that for time frames below 30 minutes. I'll put it on the board. Pablo.

During these days you advice to setup a trailing stop loss in case of a huge drop? If yes, which percentage did you set?
Hi Davider , We HIGHLY discourage the use of Trailing Stop Loss (TSL) because although it is a simple enough feature to understand in principle, it is very difficult to use in combination with EMA and, unlike the rest of Butter, must be constantly monitored as the market changes. Because of this, there is no company recommended stop loss, if you do use it however, keep in mind that when TSL is triggered it deactivates the bot and you will need to reactivate it by hand so that adds another layer of difficulty. TSL was included because it was requested by a small group of expert traders for testing purposes, it is not intended to be used in normal trading. We are working on improved Stop Loss mechanisms. Please let me know if you need anything at all . Pablo.

Pablo,
I was just thinking, with all the activity from the regulars we have in this thread, and the community that's formed here around the forum, it might do well to create a 'ButterBot Fan Club' Facebook Group which we all could join & contribute to there as well.
Just a thought.
This is a great idea for the future, will definitely see if we can get on this in the near future. Pablo.

sounds like you're gonna need to have the buttery bot translated into chinese... and add a forum in chinese?
The translation part we will likely need to take care of in the future, we plan to release BTCCHina with the English language module first. About the forum in Chinese, I'm not sure about that, we would have to hire someone who speaks Chinese to monitor it and frankly I'm too much of a control freak to have someone interacting with my customers in a way I can't supervise . If it grows to the point it becomes a must though, I'm sure we'll figure it out. Pablo.

@ Pablo
I think I might have found a strange inconsistency.
I was installing B-Bot on a ESXi server, on a virtual desktop to test out a few settings. I set B-Bot to standard settings (2 hours, 0.25 buy/sell 10/21 ema settings) and refreshed the popup.html page and I noticed that the desktop time sync was off by about 3 or 4 hours.
When I went to refresh B-Bots status page I noticed it was reading in sync with the wrong hour.
I corrected the clock on the virtual desktop and only then did B-Bot actually use the current stats up to the current hour.
I know this is a small issue but if someone has their clock off by a significant portion of time they might be trading with very old data. You might want to look into it and see if B-Bot is synchronized by the clock on the users computer rather than the api/feed servers it is getting data from.
As soon as I corrected the time, B-Bot started pulling several extra hours of data that weren't there before.
(By the way, are there any current Beta Tester spots available?)
Thank you PuertoLibre, on it. About Beta Tester Spots: If you want in the next Beta I will guarantee you a spot, you are one of the top bug spotters in the community, if not number one . Pablo. I am writing the email right now. I do want in to the next Beta. I am kinda surprised that I am supposedly number one at bug reports.... I only try to turn butter into margarine through plenty of abuse...haha You made me laugh, not quite sure why but I did; heh

Thanks for the reply Pablo...
I got another Question...
Is there an ETA for alt-coins support? Like LTC and etc... ?
Hey , We will push that out ASAP. Right now the immediate priority schedule looks like this: 1. BTCChina 2. Hosting - Strategy Improvements 3. Version 3 (Altcoins) The bottleneck right now is Hosting which is consuming more of our development resources than we thought it would. We are looking into ways to speed this up; rest assured we want to get out as many features as we can as fast as we can safely build them and test them . Pablo.

@ Pablo
Any chance we can buy extra licenses at a significant discount? (5 - 10?)
I know you are going to be offering virtualized butter-bots in the near future...so I assume our current [or concurrent] instances of butter won't be there in the near future...
Or any chance we can convert subscription months into extra butter bot licenses?
I have devised a strategy that requires more than one instance...and I want to make sure this won't flop over the long term.
Hey PuertoLibre, Drop me an email, I need to understand what you want to do before I can give you an answer. If it's a matter of running multiple instances of the bot for yourself on one or two systems we can probably authorize you to do it for free. Look forward to your email . Pablo.

How do you handle refunds?
If your order can not be placed within 24 hours we will issue a full refund via PayPal. Pablo. What if the item which we have ordered arrives but there is damage? How would you deal with issues like that? We will help you do the refund to the best of our ability; frankly this has only happened twice so far. We do expect you to take the lead however in approaching the store you purchased from, we will be happy to provide them with whatever documentation they need from us or give them a follow up call but since you know what is wrong better than we do, the onus is on you to take the initiative. If the store offers to send you a new product before receiving the damaged part (very rare) we will need you to make a 100% refundable deposit for the full amount of the replacement product. We have already been scammed by people who got replacements but never sent the old one back . Please let me know if you need anything at all. Pablo.

I just noticed that. I went to settings in anticipation of an answer, and just noticed I couldn't find a fee field.
Thanks nevertheless.
Just to be clear: It's not that you can't modify it on the bot, it's that you can't modify it period. Each exchange sets a trading fee based on your personal trading volume . Pablo.

What should my trade fee be set to for BTC-e? I've never verified that it's set properly, and for all I know I'm overpaying.
Each exchange sets their fee automatically, you can not modify it. You can modify it in back testing because the fee becomes lower the more you trade and the default settings on back testing are the max for each exchange; I'm pretty sure the max fee on BTC-E is currently 0.2%. Pablo.

I'm using BTC-e. How do I obtain the logs?
1. Go into the "manage extensions" page. 2. Enable "developer" mode by checking the "developer" box in the upper tool bar. 3. Go to the extension and click on the "generated_background_page.html" link. 4. When the new window opens, choose the "console tab" 5. Copy and paste the info there to pastebin.com as close to the time of your issue as possible and send it to me. And: 1. In the developer tools open the network tab. 2. If it's empty, press F5 to reload the extension and wait a few minutes until there are some requests listed. 3 Then right-click the list in the left pane and select "Save as HAR with content". Please scan the file and remove your API Key from the text and send it to us. This will help us resolve your issue much more quickly. Pablo.
