422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 01:32:45 AM
What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers you've heard or read, So They Can Continue Gambling

Ok, disregarding those who play just for fun/entertainment and who are not worried about losing money, we have those who play to get "rich", but why do they believe that?

I think the main reason they keep playing even though they lose is because we think that after they lose several times, they believe they will win the next time. For example, we bet that a coin will land “Heads”, and we know that the chance of winning is 50%, but what if “Tails” had already come up “Tails” ten times in a row in the bets, perhaps you think that the chance of it coming up “Heads” ” this time it is greater than 50%, since “Tails” has come out many times, so at some point “Heads” will start to come out, and many really believe that... especially those who bet still believing in the Martingale technique.

But in reality this is not what happens, the coin is the same as always and continues with the same probability of 50% for both sides... it is difficult to explain this to someone who is already addicted to gambling, but the Mathematics is king and casinos even more so when they program their machines to give you chances of winning with just a little more than 50%

No matter how much humanity evolves, gambling will always be our weakness Tongue
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is the money manager? is it a casino or game provider? on: January 12, 2024, 01:22:18 AM
Most of the games in online casinos come from third parties or game providers such as Pragmatic Play, Bgaming, Pgsoft, Play'N Go, etc. When playing at any casino, we will use their services. Perhaps only the house edge games are fully owned and powered by the casino

So who actually manages finances? is it the casino itself or the game provider? Does the casino only get a commission from the game provider or buy the game license from the game provider?

I'm not sure, but I believe that the casino is the one who manages all the inflow and outflow of money, after all, user deposits are made in the casino's wallets, right?

What game providers should do is periodically "issue a charge" to the casinos demanding their share of the profits... obviously, with each player's "play", the game provider immediately knows what the amount was bet and what the amount was eventually paid to the player, then they just need to calculate their part of the commission and ask the casino to make the payment.

For newer casinos, this may be different, I believe that owners of casinos without reputation even need to make payments in advance or provide some reliable collateral.
424  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 12, 2024, 01:13:51 AM
So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?

Both, equally.

There are those who think that the addict is always the most affected person, but I believe that the family sometimes suffers much more than the addict himself.
While the addict is in a world of illusion, he often does not realize the harm he is causing himself, the only thing he suffers from is the lack of money or "lack of luck" in gambling.
The family, however, remains lucid and really realizes all the harm that gambling is bringing, which is why I believe they suffer more.

However, the family's recovery is usually faster than that of the addict, even though the wounds never heal, the addict may never be cured of this disease.
425  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: ETF do BITCOIN causa SUPER PUMP NO ETHEREUM (?) on: January 11, 2024, 02:12:29 AM

Eu to lendo direito?

Poderia o Ethereum, algum dia, superar o Bitcoin!?
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2024 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: January 11, 2024, 02:04:47 AM
Is it too early to say Palmeiras will win once again? Cheesy

Betting houses are considering Flamengo as the favorite to win Brasileirão 2024. Palmeiras comes in second place and Atlético-MG in third. They might know something we don't, but it seems unreasonable to put Flamengo as favorite when Palmeiras remains unbeatable and getting stronger season after season. There aren't significant changes in Palmeiras team to consider they shouldn't be the favorite anymore.

They have proven to deliver a stable performance even in very unfavourable and uncertain conditions, like it happened last year with Botafogo dominating the champioship for a long time. Despite this fact, Palmeiras didn't get unsettled and bounced back in the end.

Yeap!

So... last season Botafogo led the championship from the third round until the thirty-third, so I honestly don't want to bet on any champion for this 2024 season, at least until the middle of the championship.
We already know that the main Brazilian football championship is the most competitive and difficult in the world, and we also know that being champion in the last season does not guarantee good results in the following season.... unlike the European championships, there are no pre-defined favorites in the Brazilian championship, every year we have a surprise.

Who will win?
Let's leave this question and answer for a few months, maybe!?
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 11, 2024, 01:59:33 AM
Anthony Martial the player of Macshter United had some offers from teams like Fenerbahçe, and Marseille and some Saudi terms but this French payer rejected all the offers to stay in Manchester unted.
Manchester United has not been interested in keeping Anthony Martial for a long time and they prefer to put this player or even let him join any other teams but this player is going to be a problem for Manchester United since he doesn't want to leave the team.

I don't understand what's going through Martial's head.... This "striker" isn't able to play for the Manchester United team, he isn't even able to get on the field and on several occasions he hasn't made a point of hiding his dissatisfaction with this situation. In addition to several physical problems, Martial is having a terrible performance on the field... he is unable to maintain a sequence of games.

It is notable that Manchester hoped to negotiate with other teams and proactively sought out several interested parties, but why did Martial refuse!?!?!?
I learned that Fenerbahçe had made a very generous offer.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 11, 2024, 01:51:39 AM
Let's discuss long-term profitable gambling strategies, as well as the elements of such strategies. It is not even necessary to back it up with winning statistics (although no one will mind). It is enough to write that “I think that this strategy is profitable in such and such a game or in such and such a form of gambling.”
Elements of profitable strategies are also quite interesting for discussion. I know that for long-term profitability, risk management is of course much more important. However, what is equally important is what leads to profit in addition to risk management.
If your profitable strategy is of a proprietary nature, if it is secret and you do not want to write about it, then you can limit yourself to general reasoning. I think that this discussion will be useful for everyone and perhaps it will prompt some of their own promising ideas.

I'm a terrible person to talk about profit in gambling games in the long term, my winnings are always sporadic and punctual, as I rarely end a month in profit.

It's possible? Yes, I believe it, but I don't think it's a question of strategy, because if there were an infallible recipe for profit then the casinos would be bankrupt. However, this is not what we have been witnessing in recent years.

But how is it possible then? In addition to the risk management that you have already mentioned, you need to bet on something that you are very good at, and in this regard you can now eliminate those games that depend a lot on luck, as these you will never be able to master. I'm talking about sports or card games, in which the player's skills overcome the mathematical probabilities of luck.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 01:47:06 AM
Women by nature are more conservative than men. They are better manager of resources and know how to prioritise things. This is what is needed for successful gambling because with it, the chances of using funds meant for basic needs in gambling will be minimised.

So do you think women will make better gamblers than men?

I disagree!
Many say that women are better at this or that compared to men, but my opinion is that they have been very stereotyped over time, at the same time that they have also suffered a lot of prejudice in relation to gambling.
Therefore, when we see a wet girl playing we still think... she must not know much about what she is doing, so she should take it easy in the game, take less risks... pure nonsense.

Just like anyone, there are women who are hopelessly addicted to gambling and we also have several examples of fantastic women.

It is not because of their caution, but because they decided to overcome prejudice, that I mention three great women who left a legacy and paved the way for the women we have today in gambling:
  • Shirley Brancucci, first female Baccarat dealer in Las Vegas. Although she proved her skills as a dealer, she suffered prejudice because she was a woman and was subject to objectification;
  • Judy Bayley, also known as the First Lady of Gambling, was the first woman owner of a major casino in Las Vegas;
  • Claudine Williams was the first woman to be inducted into the Nevada Gambling Hall of Fame.
430  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: CAMPANHAS DE ASSINATURAS ATUALIZADAS on: January 09, 2024, 11:25:26 PM

~snip~

Conselho e dicas preciosas Cool

431  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: O grande dia esta chegando !!!! on: January 09, 2024, 11:21:06 PM

Roll Eyes
432  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: ETF BITCOIN APROVADO - SEC on: January 09, 2024, 11:11:09 PM
Volatilidade no BTC ta alta

https://twitter.com/GaryGensler/status/1744833049064288387

The @SECGov twitter account was compromised, and an unauthorized tweet was posted. The SEC has not approved the listing and trading of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products.

Cara, eu estava pensando aqui....

435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2024 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: January 06, 2024, 11:07:33 PM
after Botafogo was embarrassed last season, I hope this season they don't stay at the top of the table in the first games, that would only make many people laugh at them and poor Botafogo fans who would have to relive the sad memory that Botafogo was very distant of all teams and at the end of the league they finished below first and second place.

So... I believe the opposite, Botafogo needs to surprise its fans by winning as many results as it can. This will not bring sadness to the players, but rather demonstrate that the team managed to reorganize itself and that it is capable of returning to the main category and being among the first in the following season (2025).

In addition to the Brasileirão, its important to remember that Botafogo can also achieve other achievements this year that will excite their fans, starting with the "Campeonato Carioca" which starts later this month, there is also the "Copa do Brasil" and the "Pre-Libertadores".

I believe that Botafogo can organize its team and think about winning titles... The "Carioca" (state) championship is possible to achieve, and with a good restructuring of the team its possible to also think about greater achievements for this year. Wink
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 06, 2024, 10:58:41 PM
Why shall not we see it? In the end there isn't such thing like there is a strong bond between Verstappen and Red Bull. It is all about having the fastest car. When his car isn't the fastest one on the grid anymore he would probably start making plans for his future. He signaled that in one of his statements in an interview before.

OK, let's go...

Red Bull was unbeatable in the 2023 season with absolute dominance, together with Max Verstappen they managed to rack up impressive feats and milestones.
Just to start... he was crowned three-time Dutch champion, climbing the podium 21 times out of 22 opportunities, 19 victories, triumphed ten times in a row, started from pole position 12 times, was champion with six stages to spare and ended the championship with 545 points . Do you want more than that? Where could he achieve such a feat?

For the first time in its history in F1, Red Bull won all possible titles for the 2023 season. In addition to being crowned champion in the Constructors' and Drivers' World Championships, it finished runner-up with Sergio Pérez finishing second.

If all of this is not yet a reason to make you believe that there is indeed a very strong partnership bond between Verstappen and RedBull, then I give up trying to convince you.
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most logical and profitable game on: January 06, 2024, 10:47:40 PM
I know that basically gambling is based on luck, but we can use tricks or strategies so that we don't spend a lot of money and can still win, even if it's only a small win.

In general, in my opinion, there are several categories of games in gambling such as house edge games, sportsbooks, slot machine games, live casino games, and lottery. In your opinion, which game do you think is the most logical to win? and what is the reason?

Many will say sports games, but even those depend on a bit of luck, as several times we have seen favorite or better prepared teams lose to a very unlikely opponent.

So, I certainly say that card games are the ones that depend very little on luck. Let's analyze, for example, a traditional poker game.... a player's victory depends fundamentally on specific skills he has to memorize characteristics, numbers and colors of the cards that are presented during the game, so it depends purely on the player adopting strategies and make the best decision (or the right one) to get the best results, then... I would say that an experienced player who has all these characteristics and skills combined, can practically eliminate the "luck" factor, because while he doesn't If he is sure that he can win the game, he will simply give up on continuing to play it or bet a low amount.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 06, 2024, 10:37:51 PM
Dean Huijsen the player of Juventos finally joined Roma and he is going to play there for six months with their coach Murinho. Dean Huijsen is a young player and maybe he won't have room much chance in a team like Juventus but in ROma he is hoping to have more chances However his contract with Roma is not permanent and he is going just stay and play there on loan.

Wel... after violating Financial Fair Play, Roma no longer had much money available for transfers in January and this greatly hampered Mourinho's planning.
It is for this reason that I believe we can expect a lot from Dean Huijsen at Roma, he is a great player and he was just not signed because they really don't have the money and not because his performance is questionable.

Loans without transfer costs fit very well into Roma's current situation, and in addition they can also increase their budget by trading players. This would increase the financial power in the market to seek out interesting athletes. And Roma have already defined who they can get rid of to boost their budget in this transfer window.

440  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: 1 bitcoin será enviado para a Lua dia 08/01/24 on: January 05, 2024, 10:35:08 PM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ6KTFMHenA
