421  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: January 28, 2021, 05:49:25 PM
Going cashless these days is a common thing, because people are getting used to card transactions and other forms of digital payments through mobile. When you don't have cash in hand there is more chances of spending on unnecessary things. Even the small shops have started to provide QR code for payment. Through digital payments corruption is made easier. Whatever might be the pros and cons, if it is used for the bad it affects the reputation and same is when used for good.
Of course, non-cash payments make our life easier and more convenient. However, we become attached to certain technical means that can be easily lost or stolen from us. In addition, non-cash money is often attacked by hackers or various scammers.
At the same time, cash is very easy to use, it is convenient to make small household transactions in cash. Also, cash, unlike non-cash, is very difficult to track.
I don’t think we’ll get rid of cash anytime soon, if ever.

Very well said, going cashless saves you a lot of space when you're out and let's say shopping or buying groceries, it makes our day-to-day life easier, but it doesn't mean that we are invulnerable and no one would plan to steal our money, and that's where privacy and security comes in very handy, having 2FA or biometric security is a must, technology continues to evolve and so does hacking, thieves move in from the streets to their laptops or desktops because they know how much people are moving in to the "cashless" lifestyle, this is definitely the biggest cons in cashless aside from forgetting your password/passphrase from your mobile wallet.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: January 28, 2021, 04:25:30 PM
As long as you know that the price can change anytime, so I'd suggest putting the products on fiat currency and make a signage or poster that you accept crypto as payment and that prices may vary because of the volatility, with that being said, I think adding another method of payment is good and as long as you have a good trusty wallet that you use, and that you can easily convert, then I think there's no problem to that, good luck!
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I want to buy LTC on: January 28, 2021, 03:37:09 PM
Haven't heard of any LTC threads/posts for a while, almost all of the threads that blew here were about Tether and XRP issues, I remembered investing on Litecoin back then, it's actually a good steady coin, although after I finished my investment, I moved on to ETH, no one can accurately give a heads up on this forum, though the market is almost done with its bullish run, it's still up to you if you're willing to invest on it right now or wait until the next bull run.
424  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC drop an opportunity to buy on: January 28, 2021, 03:21:41 PM
The price is unlikely to get a boost even if Biden does something, the price looks like it's about to have a bearish season, I don't think buying right now is actually a good idea since the price is still high and instead of calling it an opportunity it's honestly more of waste of money, I'd suggest waiting a little more, a few more weeks or a month before we see the price at its lowest this year, well at least for now.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: January 27, 2021, 05:06:09 PM
Still a long way to go if that's the case, some hodlers that are patient enough for a 20-year hold or even more before BTC actually hits that $1m price mark, and if that does happen, I'll become a millionaire and probably improve all of what I have, definitely upgrade my appliances and won't forget to give my PC a huge upgrade that's for sure, but will definitely build a business to furthermore secure my future, and pizzas.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if internet connectivity gets terminated on: January 27, 2021, 01:29:26 PM
If there are any interferences or problems with the internet, in developed countries like USA, there seems to be no problem and services act fast whenever there are problems like this, my main concern would definitely be on third world countries, their internet connections are not the best and just like in my country wherein Internet is very slow, although if things like these tend to happen, we have our mobile data to back us up, so if we ought to do some transactions or do trading, we can rely on data, for businesses or companies, they have fast internet, but for residential areas, nope.
427  Economy / Economics / Re: Will President Joe Biden be good for business? on: January 27, 2021, 12:29:24 PM
Our hopes are high up again with expectations from the new government, will campaign promises be fulfilled? Or are we about to get something again that we didn't bargain for?
With the inauguration of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. as the 46th president of the United States, what is to be expected in the economic world?

Shouldn't expect too much from him already, but to compare him with Trump, I don't think he'll do much worse on what Trump did in his term, I'm looking forward for him to be as open as he can in terms of business and for his countrymen, though I am positive that Biden would fix and clean the things Trump messed up in his term, I'm just glad Trump is not president anymore.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: stay away from new type of bitcoin scam on: January 27, 2021, 09:41:47 AM
In the first place, come to think of it, they have no possible way to gain profit from this but to just simply scam the investor, I had people on my messenger offering me this kind of investment scam wherein if I drop more BTC, I'll double the amount I gave the first time, not the person you'd want to talk to because I don't get scammed so easily and you guys really have to do your research before making a decision, because it's either you'll gain or you will simply lose everything.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is dying on: January 27, 2021, 03:14:12 AM
I do not think that XRP can win this case and I won't want to hold in loss and keep waiting for a positive result that won't come. Even if it's not Dead, there are many options to look into.
We should look bigger picture. Anything can happen. Pets wait the decision and then we will see where is Ripple I still have hope.

It's not looking at the bigger picture, it's more of safekeeping the guy's holdings because we're never sure if XRP will continue to dump and possibly die if they won't win the case, yes you are right, anything can happen but if the market value continues to go down then it's better off converting your XRP to a more reliable currency.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I HODL DOGE? on: January 26, 2021, 05:40:21 PM
Highly suggest going in for the conversion if you ought to hodl, hodling DOGE is a bad idea, I don't think it's a fast pump and I think you'll lose your patience trying to see if you could actually make profit in the future with Dogecoin, hold the bigger ones like BTC and ETH, these are more worth it to HODL rather than hodling Doge, I know the OP would have converted it already by now because of the huge pump from BTC but I think it's better to say these if the OP is planning or still has faith with Dogecoin.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Driving to the moon? HODLer installs portable mining rig in BMW on: January 26, 2021, 05:22:01 PM
That's innovative and optimistic. Driving while getting to earn some altcoins that he wants? maybe he's using nicehash if it's a graphics card to mine bitcoin?

What for? I don't quite understand why do this?
Experiment? well. If you've got tons of money and crypto holdings. You can do whatever you want with that money.

I do understand that it is an experiment, to be honest, it's actually a great innovative idea, but with 6 RTX 3080 cards only on the rig, I don't think it's sufficient enough and I do have to say that the car's battery won't last enough with that much of a firepower of a rig, imagine 6 GPU's inside your car, definitely an innovative and good idea, but definitely has to have changes and adjustments, especially with the cooling system, that's a killer rig and you need to have a killer cooling setup to normalize the temperature, it's good though and I don't see a reason why this should be stopped, it's just an experiment, well, an expensive experiment indeed.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to still make a good return from Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2021, 05:00:09 PM
You shouldn't, you got yourself 1BTC and that's a lot, you can actually gain profit in the future and hold that until the next bull run where BTC can potentially hit another ATH, I highly suggest that you should get more inclined with cryptocurrency instead of just holding it to get yourself a clearer view on the amount of profit you can actually get if you'd put more time studying crypto.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple (XRP) price will it recover or will it dump more? on: January 26, 2021, 04:42:56 PM
My friend holds a lot of XRP on her wallet, sad to see yhe price dumping more but if the charges continue, more and more interested people would likely shy away from investing and in buying XRP, not only that but if they do not win against the lawsuit, then the answer to that is definitely a big dump, might as well convert your XRPs to ETH or BTC.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell my bitcoin from 2010 on: January 26, 2021, 01:18:56 PM
To answer your question directly, yes, yes you can actually sell them all, but that would be the worst decision there is, we all know that BTC is yet to hit it's new ATH in the next bull run, and if you do sell them all, it would be a big waste, and selling $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin is actually unnecessary, call it an overkill.
435  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: -what are the best Bitcoin wallets? on: January 25, 2021, 05:58:29 PM
If you are to store huge amounts of Bitcoins or whatever that you are holding, the best tip really is buying a hardware wallet, and if you want your earning to go around, having a mobile wallet is very trusty and convenient, with the use of mobile wallets, you can make transactions much much easier, I tries Bitpay, still using it right now and I can say, the UI is actually family friendly and you can assure that your security is at maximum level because of how Bitpay actually offers different ways on securing your account.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MinecraftCoin on: January 25, 2021, 05:49:46 PM
I mean, I don't wanna lie, this honestly looks promising, as a gamer myself, I love MC so much and just playing survival or go creative and hop in to different servers and bond with my friends, building up a specific coin for a game is undeniably a good idea, but I am looking for something more convincing than this, I appreciate the effort though if you are to establish something like this from a game as famous as this, then I'd say put up more efforts, create a website, contact Java, Mojang about this because I don't see a problem about it and I think the devs would also like this idea, give it a shot.
437  Economy / Economics / Re: What We Should Learn From Elon Musk Influence on: January 25, 2021, 05:33:07 PM
Of course, the rich and the famous have undoubted power to actually make a move on the price, not only does Elon makes 'Elon' things, he's also a powerhouse in the crypto industry, you can definitely say that with the power of fame, comes the power of people idolizing you and following whatever you'll say, because of how famous and powerful he is, besides from being smart and everything, his influence itself can actually do a lot and manipulate the market, Elon is not only Elon, he has connections from other powerful people.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing data on Bitcoin blockchain? on: January 25, 2021, 06:46:25 AM
It is possible, there's a system that uses data while sending transactions, there's an option to actually send messages depending on the platform that you are using, in the wallet that I use, you can send a custom text to the user before the user actually receives the transaction, now I don't know if other platforms also have that feature but it is actually quite possible but not technically on the blockchain transaction itself. (correct me if it is possible though).
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm back and ready for action :) on: January 25, 2021, 04:41:47 AM
A little too late but I guess it's better late than never, you got a lot of catching up to do though since a lot has happened in a matter of 1 year ever since the pandemic started, with back to back ATHs for 2020 in Bitcoin is crazy and I'd say you cannot miss that part if you'll backread through the events, also, ETH hitting its ATH as well for the year 2020 and with what happened to XRP, best of luck to you my guy.
440  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there subject to study Cryptocurrency ? on: January 23, 2021, 06:11:39 PM
Business and marketing majors would probably be involved more when it comes to cryptocurrency itself, and from countries that are actually familiar with cryptocurrency would definitely put this as a subject for these specific courses.

In my course and in my school, as an IT student, we tackled more on the technology of blockchain itself, but we can never forget about cryptocurrency of course, having an advantage over this topic I was able to get a better grasp when we watched several clips about how cryptocurrency evolved and much much more on our next sessions.
