421  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: April 03, 2023, 10:53:47 PM
The government that the interest of the people at heart will provide the service that will make life easier for people through the provision of social amenities, economic growth, and empower people through job creation but no government can end poverty.
Ending poverty depends on us.
422  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe racism has come to stay!! ? on: April 03, 2023, 10:28:10 PM
racism should never be a choice for anyone one of us no matter what had happened in the past.
I know there are some countries that are very discriminating so with that, we don't need to worry much since the world in revolving and it will get to a time when people will have good reasons to love there brother no matter the colour.
You make the statement of people not worry about the people who are very discriminating about racism because you haven't experienced it before and when we're talking about racism it's not something that affects the black only it also affects Asian that live in the US and a lot of people have lost their lives to this course.
Racism has come to stay and we need to work on genuine solutions that will stop it so the world would be a better place for all of us.
423  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: April 03, 2023, 10:07:04 PM
I don't think the gambling site that claimed to be a web 3.0 gambling website misunderstands the concept of Web 3.0. I believe they only apply web 3.0 just to gain more traffic while they only focus on the cryptocurrency and individual non-custodial wallet use on their platform while they ignore the control of personal data and decentralization.
424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: +0.54056624 BTC Scam mail on: April 02, 2023, 09:29:33 PM
I don't know if any one have raised this alarm here.

Avoid such mails they are all scam

I have been receiving this mail lately and I don't always give a f*ck to it because I don't have account with any platform neither am I expecting any form of payment from any one to any platform, so I total discard the message and trash them at the end even as they keep on coming in.
You are getting the email because you have used your email to register on crypto-related platforms that verbatim sell their user email addresses or you participated in some airdrop.

Yesterday a friend of mine told me how he fell victim of the scam, he also got same email with a tempting amount 0.5+ BTC his greed could not let him let go off the mail he decided to open the link and undergo all their process, and the BTC moved from 0.5 to 1btc + which was worth about $38k according to the screenshots sent over to me  when it was ready for withdrawal, he was as asked to make a payment of $64+ seeing the huge amount of money on the fake platform and his eagger to withdrawal 30k plus  dollars he, made a move purchase Bitcoin from Binance and make deposit to their generated address.
You ought to spank your friend's butt really bad. How could he believe there's a chance for him to get 0.5BTC he didn't work for out of the thin air?
The strategy used to scam your friend is a Bitcoin bonus scam on another level.

425  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 01, 2023, 09:31:08 PM
Everyone who wants to create a fortune has a long way to go, first we need to learn how to earn, save and then learn how to make money work for us.
Everybody needs to learn how to earn but saving is a long-term ago scam strategy we are thought in school to believe saving is one of the ways to build wealth.
Saving is the mental thinking of poor people, the wealthy invest in assets instead of saving their fun and living on loans to be task free.
426  Other / Meta / Re: New CAPTCHA now required before posting on: April 01, 2023, 09:05:14 PM
Looks like it's all spammers here.  Angry

Not everyone here is a spammer! Some of us are genuinely interested in cultivating a positive reputation and contributing to constructive discussions.  Wink

From what I notice I believe only users who are able to solve the "New Captcha game which is said to be required before posting are those that didn't have the "This user is a suspected spammer!" above their posts.
See Meser# as an example.

429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: March 30, 2023, 06:54:11 PM
It is likely that the price of BTC will increase this year. Even in this month Bitcoin price has increased up to $26k and fell back at $19k, after which it pumped back up to $27k. This suggests that investors are back on the market, just haven't had the right time to pump that high yet. But if we talk about BTC reaching $80k within this year, I doubt this.
Investors never leave the market in the first place and the reason for the current uptrend in the price of the Bitcoin market is the banking crisis that's not yet over and the reason for the downtrend is that the bearish market is not over. If the banking crisis continues Bitcoin may experience an $80K price this year.

wrong mate , there are some who already left and you cannot prevent that from happening , I have met some that already gone in crypto market as some of them experienced bad losses from wrong decisioning and some have changed place of investment as they lose trust in this market while saying it is manipulated.
but indeed that bitcoin will have a long shot and can break ATH after ATH in the future.
I think you just misunderstood my statement. Investors not leaving the market is the reason why Bitcoin is still in existence those the left the market that you categorized as an investor are frankly not investors but naive people that join the market to seize the advantage of Bitcoin.
Ask yourself why would genuine Bitcoin investors leave the market just because of making a loss through wrong decisions.
430  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: March 30, 2023, 06:41:42 PM
The player was confirmed to have had a past history of gambling addiction and has wasted much more amount than the 1.4 million dollars in the last loss, but then I wondered why he is still having access to such huge funds when their knows he has a gambling problem, it shows the have not been proper rehabilitation for the ops.
No wonder and what you said here explains the main reason why he made the silly bet without risk management because only a gambling-addicted person would go that big on a game.

By the way
How do you know the gambler didn’t use risk management
I know it is unlikely (but not impossible!) that this person has many millions or even billions of dollars and this loss represent just a small % of their fortune
Even if the person is a Millionaire or Billionaire he still didn't apply risk management when he makes the bet and no matter how wealthy he was losing 1.4 million USD in just a few minutes is never a good decision. If you read what the above user said he was gambling addicted.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why use Bitcoin mixers? on: March 29, 2023, 07:55:19 PM
Electrum wallet is not a privacy wallet and the unused addresses you see on the electrum wallet can be linked to the wallet owner. Besides, there's a way of getting the IP address of the wallet owner through an electrum wallet and this is the reason why people make use of a Bitcoin mixer or privacy wallet when anonymity is important.
Is there such thing as a privacy wallet? If there is, please list some of those. I would like to hear what others think of this. Also how's it possible to get the IP address of the wallet owner?
Yes, there is plenty of Bitcoin privacy wallet. I don't know how to explain the technology of it but the sender's IP address can be detected in the electrum wallet and that's people are advised to make use of VPN, etc when using it. Here is the list of Bitcoin privacy wallet I know but I am sure there still more
Wasabi wallet
sparrow wallet
Samourai Wallet

432  Economy / Gambling / Re: OLE777 - Join Us For New And Exciting Promos! on: March 29, 2023, 06:48:58 PM
This bookie is a huge scam.
I opened an account one month ago. In total I made two deposits via USDT within month. I never received any withdrawal from them. When I requested a 1st withdrawal they closed down my account due to violation of their T&C. They confiscated my winnings (approx. 1.5k USDT) as well as all of my deposits (approx. 700 USDT). They don´t give any further reasoning for account closure, just violation of T&C. Hopefully nobody will ever deposit at this bookie again as they won´t pay you.
Sorry for loss but why would you make use not to mention make a deposit on a casino that the forum has already tagged " Warning: One or more bitcointalk.org users have reported that they strongly believe that the creator of this topic is a scammer. (Check their trust page to see the detailed trust ratings.) While the bitcointalk.org administration does not verify such claims, you should proceed with extreme caution."
This is a case that shouldn't have happened if you do some research about the casino before using it.
433  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 28, 2023, 11:25:15 PM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions
I think the number one enemy in cryptocurrency trading is accepting the fact that crypto is always come with risk and the only way to avoid the risk is to choose a good coin and it the market is not in your favor hold it for the long term since the coin will relevant in the market

438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Fiat and Banks? Can Bitcoin solve the problem? on: March 28, 2023, 09:17:32 PM

The problem with Fractional reserve banking system.

Quote
Fractional reserve banking is a type of banking system in which banks keep only a fraction of the total deposits made by customers in reserve, while the rest is available for lending out to other customers or investing.
This means that banks are only required to keep a certain percentage of the deposited money in their bank vault or at the central bank. The remaining money is loaned out to other customers who need the money to finance various activities, such as buying a home, starting a business, or making a large purchase.

Fractional reserve banking allows banks to make profits by charging interest on loans while ensuring that depositors have access to their money whenever they need it. So, they are under the condition to let their customers withdraw mass amount of their deposits, thus creating a crisis.

This is the reason why all the Banks are broken. They are lending out money to people which they don't have or own. And the most concerning thing is counterfeiting. If a normal person does it, then it's a crime, but when the central banks and government does it, they can get away with it. This is the one thing that hurts the economy the most.
When they go bankrupts, the whole pressure is put upon taxpayers. This is a criminal scandal.

Bitcoin could solve all of this. Counterfeiting could be avoided at all cost with this, and bitcoin having limited supply makes it impossible to create more, as they are able to do with fiat currency. Other aspect of Bitcoin is already known to people, so I don't want to talk about those now. All I want to know is, how good is it in terms of preventing these crises.

What is your view on this?

First, Bitcoin is not the solution or answer to everything. The problem of fiat currency is called by the Central Banks/Fed's mismanagement and unreasonable printing of more fiat currency and there's no way a trillion currency will be printed in a year and it won't lead to inflation. How would Bitcoin solve the problem? Please don't let us be naive.
The problem of an institutional bank is also caused by mismanagement of user funds and I read from the news that the bank problem is not over.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you think second if crypto without internets? Impossible right. on: March 27, 2023, 11:03:48 PM
There's alot of project that are working in bridge the gap and creating something that will make the use of Bitcoin easy for people in the rural area and from what i once read the blockchain company called Meshnets has already done something like that allow the faciliating of Bitcoin payment using SMS bridge or meshnets but i dont know how secure is the transaction and the project latest update.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thanks to bitcoin on: March 27, 2023, 10:30:50 PM
The world economic challenge is getting worse as the day counts
There's no way for the country not to experience inflation since the central bank is printing at least 500 Billion fiat currency every year.

and I'm still thinking if their were to be no bitcoin how would people cope with all the challenges in this modern world. Bitcoin has really come through for people of this days in different way and in different countries.
If there's no Bitcoin, another alternative will have to be introduced by someone else. Don't forget the idea of Bitcoin is already researched before Satoshi did the finishing aspect of it.

In some countries where they have serious unemployment challenges many people have engaged in bitcoin to invest and into other aspects of bitcoin
This will always be the case when the government is funding the printing of cash instead of using the money to create more jobs and opportunities for the masses.
