My score is still shit....i got s5 my hashrate is about 500ghs Is it running at half speed? Maybe not running on all cores?

Sorry, the livestats were unable to get the BTC and NMC difficulty for a while and showed difficulty 1. Fixed now.
And yeah, that is only used for the live stats page, not for other statistics.

Looks like that was a DDoS attack on Cloudflare.
Now a DDoS attack is hitting us directly. Apologies for the rough ride as we sort things out. Most users seem to be mining away still though and we are barely reduced on hashrate.

Cloudflare looking stable again. Knock on wood
|
|

The Bitminter website is currently unavailable because Cloudflare (CDN) is down. Apologies for the inconvenience.
This will hopefully not last long.
You'll probably notice half the web is down right now.

Maintenance on some backend servers will begin saturday 7th of march at 11:00 UTC.
Mining will not be affected. A brief downtime (less than 15 minutes) is expected for the website.

mint.bitminter.com is back on its regular server again now.
|
|
|
The network where the main mining server is appears to be having some issues. Many users got disconnected. For the moment mint.bitminter.com now refers to the secondary US server.
If you still have problems connecting your equipment may be ignoring DNS TTL settings and caching DNS entries longer than it should. In that case try setting us2.bitminter.com or eu1.bitminter.com as a backup server.

Need more workers? You can now have 10 workers without the team effort perk.

Antminer S5 is probably a good choice.
Note that the difficulty will change in the future and the earnings will not stay at the level indicated by mining calculators. It's hard to predict how the difficulty will change and of course also how the bitcoin price will change. It's always a bit of a gamble.

Not too shabby

+1 I had high hopes for an Asia server for a while
Do you get a high reject ratio with the american servers, or is there another reason for this?
|
|
|
Are there only the two US servers?
And is anyone mining in China on bitminters?
Yeah, currently 2 in the US and 1 in Europe. Are you getting a high rate of rejected work? Reducing that a little is really the only difference between close and remote servers.

The difficulty starts at 16 when you connect. But yeah, it goes up quickly, so setting a minimum difficulty isn't really necessary.
Setting a minimum diff is very useful for dragonminers since they violate the stratum specification and ignore the difficulty the server tells them to use. For those miners you should set the minimum diff at Bitminter to the same as the diff in the dragonminer configuration.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Did it already happen here ?
Possibly, but it's a rare event.
