I don't understand how any block can be stale today. There have been periods of no blocks today from 20-30+ minutes, new to the blockchain. Something has to be wrong or the difficulty is too hard.

Well, here's a chart:

https://blockchain.info/charts/n-orphaned-blocks?timespan=1year&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=7&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

More stale blocks in the last month than any other month blockchain.info has stats for.

Check the 60 day:

https://blockchain.info/charts/n-orphaned-blocks?timespan=60days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=7&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

........ some of these *pools based in China really need some work on their peering.

Need more workers? You can now have 10 workers without the team effort perk.

Great Smiley

Hopefully this will lead into a increase in pool hashrate a bit and removes the little barrier for some miners to add more workers.

The network where the main mining server is appears to be having some issues. Many users got disconnected. For the moment mint.bitminter.com now refers to the secondary US server.

If you still have problems connecting your equipment may be ignoring DNS TTL settings and caching DNS entries longer than it should. In that case try setting us2.bitminter.com or eu1.bitminter.com as a backup server.

Maintenance on some backend servers will begin saturday 7th of march at 11:00 UTC.

Mining will not be affected. A brief downtime (less than 15 minutes) is expected for the website.

The Bitminter website is currently unavailable because Cloudflare (CDN) is down. Apologies for the inconvenience.

This will hopefully not last long.

You'll probably notice half the web is down right now.

Looks like that was a DDoS attack on Cloudflare.

Now a DDoS attack is hitting us directly. Apologies for the rough ride as we sort things out. Most users seem to be mining away still though and we are barely reduced on hashrate.
