421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 19, 2016, 09:06:58 AM
What happens if the MSM refuses to cover Monero (or any altcoin)? Can an altcoin overcome any way?

Can MSM overcome the internet might be another question.

Whats with the MSM? Before the MSM there were the church and/or kings, dukes, tribe leaders etc, history never changed because someone did NOT try. And with the Internet you can only keep something quiet till it catches attention.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Altcoin Community to Join on: January 08, 2016, 11:34:22 AM
I want to find am Altcoin community I can get plugged into. Figured I would let you guys make some suggestions. I want to join a community that has a dedicated members, but more importantly, one that resonates with my personal values/interests. Here are the basics:

* Early 30's software engineer, live on the east coast.
* I am politically Libertarian.
* Things that aggravate me: Oppressive Governments, Sovereign Debt, Drug War, Reality TV
* Things that interest me: Emerging Markets, Rural Sustainability, Urban Sustainability, Efficiency, Economics, Investing, Stoner Metal, 70's Country, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Metalocalypse
* Former linux hack who would love a good reason to get back into the weeds with an open source project (life gets in the way these days).

By plugged-in, I would like to start doing development and evangelism to grow the community. Start your pitches.

I'd say look into monero. Itīs got potential , a bigger community, is all open source and as a big extra with a good idea and the Forum Funding System at getmonero.org you could also get "paid" for doing your open-source things Smiley

Otherwise like tokeweed said Ethereum might be worth a look also.

Did you insert a Payment ID so they exchange knows its your account?
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the final amount of DASH? on: January 03, 2016, 12:33:12 PM
Different Coins is your answer Wink Dashcoin does not equal Dash
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 01, 2016, 01:23:09 PM
Happy new year
and see what the dev's brought to us as a new year present...
https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/releases/tag/v0.9.0

Nice Cheesy guess they wanted to prevent the "the last release is from last year issue" Cheesy
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: December 29, 2015, 09:29:59 AM
Can i introduce you to Spoetnik ? The guy that hates that Monero Topics get bummed all the time and yet opens his own thread about it and pushes it constantly... oh and he is ignorant and stubborn.

Did you get left negative ratings for said topic after posting it ?
Do you get harassed any time the issue of Monero gets brought up with guys arguing about what was quoted ?
I had to bump that because you guys REFUSE to see what was actually said.
You just keep twisting the story around.

Because of getting stupid NEG Ratings over the (Latapie Fraud Topic) i can tell ya one thing..
i won't be letting the matter drop until those invalid ratings are removed Wink

You brats here need to learn NOT to use the Trust Rating system as an attack tool because you don't like what someone said.

I got 2 each from Smooth and Smoothie (who claim to be different people yet act the same)
Who left me the Neg's ?
..claiming i "Lied" (when i asked where / prove it, i got the run around)

And have to re-bump post that quote over and over again because they STILL can't read.
Round and round we go with bullying, Trolling and Lying.

You get those bad trusts because your tiny brain does not get it ... first you make the threadtitle sound like David Lapatie is the scammer ( name calling like that could get you in serious trouble in some countries )... even though obviously the getmonero.org thread said he GOT scammed ( does not matter if its the truth for the moment ).
You are acting like you are on a personal crusade against him.... asking for proof that he is not the scammer... but not delivering either proofs that he is ( contracts etc ). That is called twisting the reality like it fits oneself.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Monero David Latapie French Police Fraud [updated] on: December 28, 2015, 09:48:46 AM
The best part about you being who you are is I don't even need to argue with you, your quoted materials prove your wrong. I love it.

I love making claims to.. I once shit a solid gold turd before and sold it for 13 grand.

This scammy HYP fucker started HYP after he paid a dev to make it for him.
Said he had no use for PR..
The crated a Monero Marketing Company with some other guys who got in trouble with French Police.
He made a couple of intense apologies for screwing over the Monero users etc.. AKA: The Shill team
THEN he went into hiding.. still coming here and logging in lurking, but HIDING !
A coward hiding like BigVern from Cryptsy as he fucks you all over !

He posted the most intense apology i have ever seen on the web but refuses to tell anyone WHY.

THEN
You sleazy little deceitful Monero Shills + Monero Marketing guys (Bitcointalk spammers)
Gang up on me accuse me off lunacy Trolling me and leaving me negative ratings
for posting his apology.

- Monero claims to be secure and untraceable which is a lie and will get people arrested.

- Monero is backed by a "Monero Marketing Team" that does nothing pretty much except Spam, Lie and Troll this forum for $$$

The kiss of death to XMR AKA: Monero is the scammy losers behind it.
If it was some other coin they too would kill that one also.. a toxic community of dishonest, greedy & deceitful bag holders.
I highly advise newcomers to avoid Monero at all costs and not just because it has a gay name ROFL

And.. leave me all the negative ratings all you want and Troll me all you want.. you will NOT bully & harass me into liking that scam coin !

People like you are the downfall for cryptocurrencies.... cause you donīt understand shit only that you came too late for bitcoin. Your reasoning is worse then a 5th grader ( oh the coin has a gay name LOL ).

Btw Monero is not backed by a "Marketing Team" ( must haunt you all night as you can not let it go ) it is backed by being open-source and everyone can look into it if he got the skills to do so.... otherwise it is trust like everything in life where experts are needed. DaveyOut

430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, which is better? Monero or Dash? on: December 20, 2015, 06:04:19 PM
.... AnonyMint pumping his vaporware as usual ...

"Proof-of-Stake Politics (non-decentralized governance)" - I guess you haven't been following Bitcoin lately? There are just as much politics involved with PoW as soon as a cryptocurrency is large enough. Google "Bitcoin block size limit controversy".

Bitshares R&D is average yet Monero (LOL) is above average and your vaporware is above average. Monero releases one whitepaper and all the sudden they are above average R&D... give me a break lol. You obviously have no idea how much R&D in many different decentralized technologies Bitshares has done in its forums as a community over the past couple years. They've done way more research and development than Monero and yourself combined.

Bitshares browser/mobile wallet: https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/

Your claim that your coin will be launched to millions of users is laughable. Please enlighten us how you plan to do that so we can pick holes at all of the issues with your "plan."

Your claim that attacking a PoS coin is a "fixed cost" and attacking a PoW coin is an "unbounded cost" is similarly ridiculous considering the costs of attacking both types are dynamic (PoS depending on the price of the coin and PoW depending on the hash power of the coin.)

If you sling mud atleast get your facts straight... 1 Whitepaper for Monero? What about https://lab.getmonero.org/ and https://eprint.iacr.org/2015/1098.pdf Huh So who has no Idea?
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoNote coins (BCN, Aeon, XMR, Monero...) and blockchain size - Trouble? on: December 18, 2015, 09:45:07 AM
The size of the Cryptnote wallet also grows very fast. It is easy to reach 20MB. Is there a way to reduce the wallet size?

How is 20MB nowadays a problem?  Shocked

But to answer your question the wallet file is just your scanned blockchain file, what matters is the .keys file for your coins... so you could possibly delete that if its to big for your and rescan everytime you want to use it Cheesy

434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which dev do you trusted more ? on: December 15, 2015, 12:33:39 PM
Because it makes no sense like this.... i will trust the dev more that getīs shit done... no matter if known or unknown.

Also option 4 is wrong... with ur example.... fluffypony is not unknown...
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 15, 2015, 09:26:05 AM
Hey,

So now Monero price is going up because of the long anticipated 0.09 release which took the developers over a year but I still don't get what is in their release? Also checked MoneroDice and like onemorexmr told me it's run by FluffyPony which is a main developer here and he takes 10% of all the Monero there I am guessing to fund the project BUT what about Othe he is a developer yet he won 21835.834259214586 Monero isn't this a bit fishy?  I got these info form this forum page " https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=720940 ". + the donation that Monero get's from it's community is "at least to me"is huge around 70,000 Monero's ! isn't this enough to motivate developers to work faster than a release per year? https://getmonero.org/getting-started/donate/hall-of-fame

Please get that I am not here to put down Monero I am here to make sure my investment is in the right place  Smiley

The way you ask, you don't deserve answers.
Nobody's here to please you with "your investment".

Ok, please tell me how should I ask then? should I beg? or throw my money and hope it works.

The best thing is to research everything you can yourself... if you want to make sure you do the right investment there should be no one else to trust. Just Research properly and invest wisely. In the End it is your money not ours...

Edit: obit33 already showed you the "roadmap" ----> https://getmonero.org/design-goals/
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which dev do you trusted more ? on: December 15, 2015, 09:14:34 AM
And yet you wonder why you get constantly trolled.... Kindergarten....
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If DASH is so confident why are they trying so hard to beat Monero? on: December 11, 2015, 10:48:51 PM
Its less Dash vs Monero but different characters from both camps going back and forth... and as everyone got their free will its not up to anyone but themselves to stop that.

439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 08, 2015, 10:05:12 AM

I'm thinking the price is being held down intentionally until the Gui is released when those that are in control have accumulated their limit.

The only other reason I can think of is that big holders know something the general public doesn't like a fatal flaw and are divesting as slowly as they can.

That was my thinking. A year after nothing has changed.

Nothing has changed? Did you even try to compile yourself or use the beta 0.9 binaries... the difference is a lot!
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: December 08, 2015, 01:59:11 AM
who is the original monero scam dev they kicked out? do we have his real name? where is he now?

thankful_for_today, i donīt know if anyone has his real name and where he is .... but you cannot call it kicked out... there was consensus to fork it away from him and community approved... thats how open source works Wink
