My cards (both vega 64 and vega 56 flashed with vega64 bios) are running perfectly stable 1408/1150@875mV for a weeks. Clocks aren't floating at all. Power usage ~150watt for Vega56 and ~160watt for Vega64. Speed is 2kh/s for Vega 56 and 2.07kh/s for Vega64. I'm using 23aug drivers and softpowerplay reg mod + overdriveNtool.

Could you please link or upload your Softpowerplay reg file? When i try to use one of the 3 reg files from the Guide a get a green screen at Windows Start. Dont know why, maybe someone has an idea

It's nothing special, guys

Then set P7 state to 1408@900mV and P6 to 1560@900mV with OverdriveNtool. Mem P3 to 1150@900mV

First I connected the vega 56@64, installed the driver, then replaced it with 64, I think it's somehow related. After rebooting hashrate drops to 2000 and that would get 2500 I need to remove the driver, insert the vega 56 and so on

I cannot reproduce ... I swaped rizer cables between my flashed vega56=>vega64aio and native vega64aio. Speed stays the same, 2k for v56 and 2.07k for v64

Question for anyone pushing over 1950h/s with the Vega 64s. How stable are your card clocks in Wattman while.mining? Also could bouncing clocks damage the card/reduce life of card. I feel that if the clocks hold steady mining when using standard settings then it should be the same when over/underclock get but this might not be true.

The best settings I've found to keep stable clocks are 1100/1100 core 1025 mem -10% power temp 62 max. Reducing power any more causes bouncing clocks as does increasing mem. No Bois mod cards using 215w each.

On a different point I've found that setting core clocks manually at 1100/1100 or even 1200/1200 let's the cards run much cooler than using the % slider to a similar level.

I tried even 1700/1200 with my liquid vega64, max I've got was 2180h/s
Mem clocked higher than 1150 seems to produce fake hashrate due to compute errors.

You need win10x64 with blockchan drivers and HBCC enabled to hit 1600-1700h/s xmr

1600 xmr is pretty good.  what is the temp and the watts for that?

my amd ryzen 1800x   cpu does 580 h on  stock clock settings  uses about 70-75 watts more  with this rig
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

130 watt for 1600h/s - this is diff between idle and mining with one card measured from the wall, so guess total is near 150 watt ... much more for 1700h/s cause you will need max gpu clock and voltage.
Temps are fine for me - I use liquid cool Vega ))))))))))))))))))))

And one more ... Vega seemes to not need monitor or dummy plug attached for tuning - very convinient ))

I don't see how that has anything to do with Vegas.  If I don't have a monitor or plug in TeamViewer and VNC will not display any video.

well. that was rather old post ))
I meant that you don't need monitor or dummy plug attached to vegas and still can tune clocks, etc. My monitor is attached to iGPU.
For my old hawaii and tahiti rigs I need to attach at least one card to monitor or dummy to have ability to control clocks and voltages
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 21, 2017, 06:06:06 AM
1. add virtual memory, 16gb per card
2. Make sure you use 23aug blockchain driver
2. re-enable both cards in device manager before mining
3. use cast-xmr miner
4. make sure your temps are below 70 degrees (both gpu and hbcc)

Thank you very much.  increasing VM fixed the error message, now running consistent 1975 h/s per card without tweeks using default cooling on the blockhain driver.  Still connected to onboard video (Intel).  Wondering what I'll get with HBCC enabled.  For some reason it crashes my AMD Settings prog as soon as I try to change it to anything.
You doesn't need HBCC for high mining speeds. Old tricks with HBCC was used as switching HBCC was causing card re-enabling that solves internal driver paging bug. The same can be done with just disabling and then enabling the card in device manager.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 20, 2017, 08:56:20 PM
I have an issue with my setup.  Can someone point out what I'm doing wrong (my first setup).

I'm getting very low speeds on my 2x vega 56s regardless how I set it up.
I've tried the following with the results:

- index 0 only: 1 thread per GPU 2016 results in 600H/s
- index 0 only: 2 threads per GPU 2016+1600 results in 236H/s
- index 0+1: 1 thread per GPU 2016 results in 1175H/s
- index 0+1: 2 threads per GPU 2016+1600 results in weird rates ID 0 = 132, 1 = na, 2 = 221, 3 = 853 and 1 and and I get CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE

"platform_index" is set to 1 (doesn't work when set to 0)
Sometimes xmr-stak-amd freezes when setting up 2nd "Device 0 work size 8 / 256" or sometimes on Device 1

My setup:
ASRock H81 BTC R2.0 mobo with G3260 CPU and 4GB of RAM running Win 10 64bit
Both cards are connected via risers (PCI-E #2 (long) and #3 (short) are in use out of 6 total) and powered by 1000w EVGA gold
I am connected to the onboard HDMI for monitoring
There are no HDMI dummy dongles in the Vegas
Running blockchain driver v17.7

Anything obvious pops up?  I'll try disabling onboard video and connecting the monitor to one of the Vegas, but can you see any other issues with this?  Pointers perhaps?

All of this is running on default 1580MHz/800MHz speeds (haven't tweeked any Wattman settings and HBCC is off)

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey sp_, do you planning to decrease donation cost for your mods? Asking because, due to btc price goes higher and higher, its becoming more expensive for people to buy your kernels. Maybe you have a thoughts to distribute your mods for pure fee system?

No I was planning to increase the donation limit instead.

I had some zencash balance after you added this coin to pool. Maybe cause I had some ZCL before ZEN hardfork on MPH wallet.
I tried to send them to my Bittrex wallet but mph gives me error about address. Then I set it to autoexchange to ETH, it showed in ready for auto-exchange balance but then disappeared. Currently there are even no transactions on ZEN page ((

434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 18, 2017, 08:21:39 AM
Is it just my rig or everyone else has their AMD setting crash every time we close the Cast XMR?

I had this issue with xmr-stak-amd in the past, screen flickers and one of my cards goes to defaults settings.
But now all is smooth both with cast-xmr or stak.
It can be non optimal clock/voltage settings or some other hardware utilities that cause memory paging / I2C errors with such postponed effect

Make sure you are closing miner with 'q' key, not just closing miner window
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 17, 2017, 01:48:04 PM
How much XMR should bring GPU?

A single rx vega 56/64 can pull about 2000 hashes/second at about 150W if that's what you mean.

How many XMR?

It depends ))
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 16, 2017, 07:32:17 AM
Anybody having issues with monitoring the health of their rig ?

I an experiencing continuous lock-ups in cast-xmr (and stak for that matters) when I'm running hwinfo64 or gpu-z to monitor the health of the rig.

It's imperative to know temperatures on the hbm and monitor fan speeds.

4 GPU + single PSU is OK. On 8GPU + 2PSU the lockups are frequent (every hour - two).

Any other options ?
hwinfo64 works fine with vega, no speed decrease or lockups. Just disable GPU I2C Support in settings.

I've been reading through the threads trying to glean a little knowledge and it's things like this that light me up.

I've got the latest stable hwinfo64 5.60-3280.  When simply disabling GPU I2C support (that single check-box), my hash-rate drops.  Any other options I should be adding/dropping?  ... I think that it might be working now if I keep hwinfo64 open, reset my vegas, and then check temps.  Is that what you mean?

Also, since talking temps, you said you set target to 50.  Is that via Wattman in Radeon Settings?  For some reason I was under the impression that the temp targets in wattman weren't effective and that it all had to be done manually.  Yes, I'm talking LC here.  I'm also interested in keeping fans down if possible. You said hbm temp 65-67 C.  Would you say over 70 is dangerous?

Hi!
I use OverdriveNtool to set target temp.
I currently clock HBM high - to 1150mhz, so I keep memory temp below 65 with proper fan settings for that reason.

As for hwinfo64 issues you have ... well ... I currently use hw64_559_3270 ... didn't try most recent yet.
Make sure that other stuff isn't responsible for hashrate drop. It can be windows power saver options or other hardware related utilities (like nvidia utilities in task scheduler in my case before)

Fresh install of Fall creators update.
Download/unpack AMD drivers.
Shut machine down.
Install 3x Vega cards
Remove network cable
Boot machine and install drivers with no network connection.
Reboot machine
Go into crimson, enable HBC max.
Reboot
Connect ethernet
Begin mining XMR, 3,500h/s for 3x Vega 56x

Grrrrrrr
Does old good 23AUG blockchain driver work with Fall creator update?

Yes

What is the Aug 23 driver?  I keep installing 17.30 but in device manager it says that is 22.19.659 from 8/8/2017.

nanopool works fine for me, but yeah im seeing about 2-3% discrepancy.  For people who dont have a lot of hash, maybe nicehash is a better option.  Last time I tried it though the cryptonight servers kept restarting/disconnecting though.
cast-xmr is running very smooth with nicehash on my Vegas. claymore and sgminer have a lot of orphans and disconnects (polaris and hawaii rigs)

Show your calc's. There is no way.

OP, it is recommended to power the risers with the SAME psu used to power said gpu.

@rednoW What calc leads you to believe that?
Sorry for late answer. Cryptonight-based coins was twice profitable with Vega then 1080ti with lower power consumption. And still are good.
