421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All this Speculation is meaningless or please correct me on: September 28, 2017, 08:28:30 PM
Hi,

Whenever bitcoin goes up green the Alts follow the same.

Whenever bitcoin goes down red the Alts follow the same.

So lets say and speculate for example Ark will be releasing a new website on 30/10/17. Investors think price will go 10x for Ark however on that same date for example some idiot banker comes on tv and say bitcoin is a fraud knocking 35% of its value from bitcoin and knocking 70% value from Ark regardless of its new website.

The question is whats the point of all this speculation when Alts prices are tied to bitcoin prices? If bitcoin is not having a good time then whats the point of speculating on Alts or when will Alts prices become independant from bitcoin prices?

So for USDT Tether seems the only independent Alt Roll Eyes

This is normal as BTC is the first and most proven crypto. On top of that it is the gateway to crypto. Maybe with ICO fever some people around here came to crypto through ETh, but the largest majority came from BTC. So there is an established movement making BTC determine prices. On top of that BTC is considered the less risky investment so it drives prices as well. Maybe with the merging of some other strong coins, with innovative features and increased % Mcap we see some of them detaching from BTC.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what the best feature you loving from altcoin? on: September 28, 2017, 08:23:42 PM
many altcoin have some feature, like zcash, zero blockchain, dash with masternodes, ethereum smartcontract, etc.
which the best feature you loving from altcoin? : )
The best, the greatest, the most important feature is fungibility. Monero is aiming for it, and Komodo as well. Without fungibility no coin will be a widely used currency. So i would single it out as very very important..
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [KMD] Komodo speculation on: September 28, 2017, 08:22:08 PM
Let's hope it goes up then. I'm only in this one for speculation. I think the platform has a future though, but we'll see about the upcoming ICO(s).
I want to see it up because part of the Komodo tokens are actually used for development purposes. So letīs see it sky i and make everyone happy. the long termers and the speculators:)
424  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: September 28, 2017, 08:19:55 PM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?

Probably the new "tech" billionaires do. they understand technology and believe in the future of blockchain and of lots of startups emerging around crypto. "traditional" millionaires, however, i doubt it. some of them just heard of BTC when it spikes and makes the news:)
425  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chinese Regulators Crack Down on Bitcoin Exchanges on: September 28, 2017, 09:13:56 AM
Chinese regulators issued closure notices to bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchanges last week, informing them that they must voluntarily shut down.

On September 14, Chinese bitcoin exchanges began to publish abrupt announcements that they would shutter their order-book exchanges by the end of the month. BTCC, the world’s longest-running bitcoin exchange, was the first to announce its closure, citing the September 5 ruling by the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) that initial coin offerings (ICOs) were illegal.

READ MORE HERE: http://strategiccoin.com/chinese-regulators-crack-bitcoin-exchanges/
This is a few weeks old. What iīve been reading around this China news is that they felt they had no grasp on the crypto exchanges nor had any part on the profits generated by them and ICOīs. So they came in hard with Threats of closure so that the exchange owners feel some fear and accepto to work on exchanges that are at least partly regulated or controled by the hardcore of Chinaīs comunist party. They just want a piece of the pie and they are not willing to ask nicely, they just want to take it...
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think LTC go up soon? on: September 28, 2017, 09:06:14 AM
I think at this price level there is some room for Litcoin recovery. It is a good coin but not disruptive comparing to BTC. So i donīt see it as a HUGE pump in the future but will go a little higher with the rest of the market . It can maintain itīs place as a refuge when there are the usual disturbing news about BTC.
427  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Scam Sites that use Bitcoin on: September 27, 2017, 08:53:21 PM
here is a scam website http://apvpresearchchemicals.com that scammed me of bitcoins equivalent $750, i could'nt pay with ny card so they said i can pay with bitcoin which i did.My order had to reach me in 2days as they said but its over a week now, nothing from them and they are not replying to my messages or emails. Beware please

This is really troublesome. As BTC is based purely on trust this kind of dirty scams only avoid the already difficult penetration of BTC in traditional businesses. thanx for posting. Every eyeopener is welcome!
428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the first rule of daily trading in your opinion? on: September 27, 2017, 07:57:56 PM

Let's see what you think Guys.

Assuming you daytrade for profit.
1st rule is buy low sell high.
All the rest is aimed at this. Choose high volume coins for more trades a day, small profits at a time to not be caught with bags, all trade what you can afford to loose so that you donīt start trading with emotions. Practice. And so on and on. But in the end all this is as i said to buy low and sell high for most profit.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 27, 2017, 07:46:28 PM
So with what few Monero I have not irrevocably lost I am actually having a strange temptation.

BTC might be setting up for a reversal here, and I am curious if anyone besides me is tempted to move some XMR over to BTC as in these scenarios we seem so often to drift downward against the rising BTC.

Someone talk some sense into me.  There are almost 3 XMR at stake here!
Iīm soon having 1k euros to dump on crypto. iīm strugling with myself about going all in XMR. HOwever i have that bug in my head telling me. Diveerrrrrrrsifffffyyyyyy, diiiiivvvveeerrrrsssiiiifyyyyyy:) soon is probably only december...so until then many things will happn for sure.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we totally eliminate all the banks in this world? on: September 27, 2017, 07:41:39 PM
What is the future of cryptocurrencies when all the government need to do is to close the bank accounts of businesses or exchange?

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-businesses-face-bank-account-closures-in-singapore/

The cryptocurrencies have to solve some of itīs problems to became really usable currencies. coin will have to have more stability in price, be private and fungible and  have fast and low cost transactions. These are the main pillars of a currency to be widely accepted. and while BTC paved the way a long path have to be walked until this is achieved. till then you need to change it to fiat and that gives some importance to banks of course...
431  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happened to bitcoins after one died? on: September 26, 2017, 05:39:53 PM
Who owns the bitcoin after someone died?  How to state this in the will? Please share your thoughts.

The owner of the coins is the owner of the private keys. If you control them yourself you have to let it somewhere for others to access it. If you have the BTC in some party wallet , you should have the passwords or the pasword recovery available to whoever stays behind.
If not the BTC will remain unaccessible....
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does BTC control a lot of the other altcoins on: September 25, 2017, 04:32:23 PM
You gave the answer for your own question. There is a normal movement of money in crypto. People usually buy BTC and then begin to get interest in the other coins and move from BTC to them. So they depend a lot on BTC movement. In time ETH, for example, that can already be easily purchased from fiat and as itīs very own "ICO" ecosystem may start to move more independitly. But for the time being itīs BTC that is determining the market movements in all of cryptoland.
433  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just print dollars? on: September 25, 2017, 04:19:54 PM
Grin the good point of bitcoin ... is that you can print paper money if you want : https://www.bitaddress.org

and, it's real value !  Cheesy

You're right that bitcoin can't be printed when more is needed.

You're wrong that bitcoin has real value. The value is perceived because all of us place value upon it...just as we do fiat currency.

There is no tangible thing that supports the value of bitcoin, that can prove there is value to it.

There's no Gold, no Silver, no other tangible item that exists in the world...just the promise that only so much bitcoin can every be mined and that the validity of transactions and balances are verified by the community that uses it.

Every currency as we know it today as no value backing it. The bank basement full of gold is gone long time a good. Currencies as we know are no more than Debt titles.
That we believe will have value to trade for something. Bitcoin is the same but the trust base is not the state or government but a decentralized algorithm...
434  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is neither a currency nor a store of value ! on: September 25, 2017, 09:42:03 AM
Did you create the account just to FUD? are you new in the forum or just created an alt account to bring value down. Some will actually thank you for that, if they get cheaper coins.

As being a pyramid. Everything is. That modern banking system. Huge pyramid that as to adjust from time to time.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: JPMorgan Knocks Bitcoin Again on: September 25, 2017, 09:37:10 AM
Itīs very normal that tradicional finance comes hard on cryptos. They are manipulating the market openly because they can. This is something to expect as new money comes in from BTC and traditioal finance invests in BTC they will listen to the usual news, so they will respond to them. Letīs just buy the Dips and be happy.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you Do When You Run Out of Money to BUY During Such a Great Opportunity? on: September 25, 2017, 08:22:37 AM
I think we have to set emotions aside. We had a plan, invested in some alts and BTC and what we felt like was a fair part of "trade money" is gone. So for me if its gone its gone, i either wait, or i very very carefully sell something at a losse or small buy to adjust the portfolio.
For instance, i had some coins that iīm in profit for USDT but loss in BTC. I decided to sell and move to another project. Some might say it is a bad bet as iīm loosing the king BTC, others good as they will argue that we actually leave evryday life from fiat.
Just think carefully and donīt let emotions kick in.
437  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time management. on: September 25, 2017, 08:18:46 AM
I have appointment all day. What iīm doing is using my "dead times" to be around the computer crypto related instead of trolling in social media or playing games. IF i want to read the news papper i read some crypto news as well, if iīm going to studdy i add a whitepapper to rest of the pappers, if i have some kind of urge to "socialize" in facebook i go to medium and tweeter for crypto groups. And BTC talk is being increasingly a part of my day.
438  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe governments can stop bitcoin after all on: September 25, 2017, 08:12:12 AM
The regulatory pressure will be huge, and to a certain point necessary. For our structure of society taxes are still needed, and i donīt see people willingly paying them i there is no obligation.  What i think is huge in crypto is not the fact that states can or canīt stop it is the fact that some states/governments are waiking up to the fact that some form of parallel economy is developing outside their regulations. The fact that an increasing number of people is believing is some form of currency that isnīt issued and back by state/government trust.

Where it will lead us? it is still to be seen...
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - INTEGRATIVE MODULAR BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATIONS on: September 24, 2017, 10:14:16 PM
I believe XBY is safe, scalable and unique and once people get their head around it and get the AHAH!! moment that with due respect to other individual decentralised ICO projects will wipe the floor with all of them cause they wont have the sustainable internal economy that XBY will provide or the connectivity of having everything under one decentralised 'roof'.

In short its FUCKING HUGE!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin[/b]
All we need is a 3 character tweet endorsement by Charlie Lee or someone of that caliber. (see his 'buy DCR now' tweet).  Wink

Once all the pieces are in place we can expect something like this to happen.  Smiley
For me itīs a 3k word Fatoshiīs BTCtalk post to triple my coins:) Ok ok, i know itīs about using due diligence, make our own researh. However startups are made of solid projects, great devs but also dedicated and enthusiastic communities.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - INTEGRATIVE MODULAR BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATIONS on: September 24, 2017, 09:40:53 AM
Could someone write 50 - 100 words in simple English what makes this coin different and the value of that difference?  Maybe a couple of people giving their version?

Being able to create Dapps (Decentralized Applications) in a programming language agnostic environment (meaning you can use any popular language, you could even potentially take already existing PC/mobile apps and stick them on the network if I remember...) which seamlessly "plug-in" to the XTRABYTES network which will be backed by a consensus (Proof-of-Signature) with unlimited scalability and unparalleled security. It is going to be an entire infrastructure/smart contract platform for developers to use, similar in scope to Ethereum but without a lot of it's issues such as iffy scaling and susceptibility to attacks (DDoS, 51%, etc.).

Is this similar to what Komodo is doing? I feel itīs important to get to know the projects we are interested and we feel have a great future as i do about XBY, but to know what other are doing as well. I also own some KMD and really like the answers their dev gives. So are we talking about similer or competing projects?
