481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin Over Market Price? on: September 06, 2017, 03:54:47 PM
Okay so right now can someone tell me why the btc to usd price is a lot different on every site?

google shows price at 4631.70

coinbase shows price at 4,669.01

bittrex shows price at 4585.23

So does that mean right now it cost 4585.23 to buy 1 bitcoin on bittrex?  This makes no sense because if that is true, even if you sell it at market rate to someone else... wouldnt you make money on this?  Or if you buy it on bittrex now and sell it at coinbase?

I believe the price on bittrex is very similar for the buy/sell price so anyone can explain this?

The price on each exchange depends on people willing to pay. usally it show the last price someone payed for that coin. IF you look at lower liquidity coins you can understand it better. You could have a sell order for 2 dolar and a buy order for 1 dollar. in a split second the price can go form 1 to 2 dollars if there is somone o buys at 2 and next second someone willing to sell at 1.

That is happening every second on every exchange depending on volume and number of transactions. At coinbase the prices reflect the fee of the service so you dont sell at coinbase at the same price you buy.
when you do arbitrage you must take care of the market movement, the transaction fees and the exchange fees. All this added makes arbitrage difficult.

Security and Privacy indeed are several traits of Komodo that are very much important in building decentralized apps and sidechains. In an event where kmd platform starts using kmd gas to fuel such apps and sidechains, well I will let the price speaks for itself so hodl.

well, actually almost all such features are implemented in different coins, so I can not say this is something completely unique   Undecided

but, the rally Komodo started recently is fantastic without a doubt, I wonder will it hold there and continue to climb higher ... or... will fell donw like Ikar..

only time and market will tell

Security using dPoW and Privacy are not used almost all. In fact you can only count with your fingers the cryptos offering mixing and privacy so where did you read almost all have this features? Better read the whitepaper and not just riding the bandwagon of shills and trolls. Even more premium than Ethereum . So watch out in less than 3 years, it will be in place.
Actually true privacy and more important fungibility are yet to be proved in crypto. For me what is somehow worrysome is what was shown with the recent BTC-e scandal. BTC in no that private and Zcash as itīs on backdoor at the devs disposal to turn privacy on and off..  said by the Zcash devs themselfs.)
Letīs hope KMD can help solve this issues and establish as a true privacy coin.
There is no backdoor in zcash and devs cannot turn privacy on and off. Not sure where you get such misinformation
https://www.newscientist.com/blogs/onepercent/2013/03/bitcoin-zerocoin.html
have no idea why you think that article from 2013 supports some dev controllable privacy switch. the user controls whether they utilize the privacy or not

For me is not that reassuring that the dev says he would be able to add this kind of feature to a coin. If it is not possible , great news. If it is possible itīs something no one wants to see in a privacy focussed coin. Iīm not a tech guy. thatīs why i like to see what people that are has t say. So thanx for jumping in this "discussion".
The zksnark tech that the zcash team developed was an improvement on the original zercoin method. You can be assured that if I knew of any backdoor in zcash, I would not have chosen its tech

if you are not technical, you will need to trust the judgements of those that are and hopefully a 4 year old article is not going to cause you much concerns

still not sure if the hype is real -.-

Who has read their whitepaper, who is legit and actually endorses this coin? I try to stay away from pump and dump...

Everything in blockchain tech is very new. So the actual valuation of coins, even BTC itself, is always speculative on future usabillity of the techs. Itīs no different here. If you add to that the speculation on exchanges, you always have pump and dumps despite the awasomness of a given project.
487  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin Over Market Price? on: September 06, 2017, 07:53:12 AM
If you could get bitcoin at a certain price and then sell it to another exchange or person... how profitable would this be?  For example bitcoin is 2500 a coin.  You get them at 2500 a coin.  Localbitcoins it seems like ppl who buy bitcoin actually offer you more than 2500 per coin right?  If thats the case, why not look for a buyer... then buy your bitcoin from an exchange... then sell that bitcoin to a buyer for profit?  The issue of course is you need to make sure the price doesnt drop much between when you get the actual bitcoin in your wallet and doing the transaction with the other user.  Does anyone know how much money ppl are buying over the market price for bitcoin on localbitcoins?  For example if price is 2500... are people paying like 3 percent for it?  Thus 2575 etc for a coin?  Or is it the other way around?  Because i recalled didn't people sell bitcoin at face value or actually get less than face value?  But since bitcoin gotten really big, its actually worth more than cash value?

You can either do arbitrage. That is play on the price difference between exchanges. Thats not that easy because bitcoin transactions are slow and the market tends to the same price over time. However you can sometimes take advantage of local diferences (eg some countries paying higher) or less liquidity (again dangerous because with low liquidity there are less deals to be made:)).

On local bitcoins you are trying to provide a service. You are selling BTC to someone who canīt or wonīt go o an exchange so you put on a fee to your price. That fee will be higher if you are more trusted as a seller.

Other reason to ask for fees is the fact that everyone thinks BTC is going higher so to sell your BTC to someone you are trying to get a part of itīs future valuation.

strong shilling

as an XBY holder, it's truly cringeworthy. These clowns are doing more harm than good
Unless Devs need some token valoration to get funding this hype/fud talk neither arms nor makes any good. In my opinion this is a good project, disrupting one so i donīt need any news to want to invest in it. All itīs needed is the whitepaper and the road map.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 05, 2017, 10:41:31 AM
The price of Moreno has risen so fast, but it has not fall fast. For now, it's picking up faster than the other top-level altcoins! I guess Monero's rise is not speculation.

If Monero continues to be such a stable altcoin, it may come to better places than Ethereum.

ETH is fucked with the ICO ban, the market will get interesting for the rest of the week I am sure. some big big winners and some massive losers.
why ETH? I think it's just NEO. And I think it will recover soon. China people can hire someone from other country to host ICO. ez

ETH is totally over hyped due to ICO's NEO as well but ETH has a lot further to go down in my eyes

EDIT- fuck those shitcoins anyway - only 79K XMR for sale on polo 39K on trex...

XMR = MOON???
With amount of shity projects being funded on Eth smart contracts itīs becoming almost impossible to distinguish any good ones.. That could really doom Eth. When XMR moon...again?Smiley
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders; what do you look for on: September 05, 2017, 10:28:37 AM
First of all, ICO isnīt always the same. When you invest in an ICO you are funding a project. What i see in most icos is that you are funding the project but the token itself is useless for the future project ( a good example is Ripple - you dont need to own tokens to use the Ripple platform for transactions, so aprt from the hype and speculation on the token itself, itīs useless), and you dont own a part of the company. So if this two factors are in play you are funding a company and getting nothing in return apart from a token that is used for speculation in an exchange.
So in a ICO what i look for is pure speculation for profit sometimes, other is actually having something usefull for the future even if it does not mean short term profit.
491  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HAVE you tried daily trading using SMA on: September 04, 2017, 08:20:59 PM
i don't understnd how to read candle stick, just watch this thread hoper get something for learn.

The candle stick is easy. shows the price range from opening to close of a given time frame. Can have candle sticks of 1 min , 5 min, 15 min 1 day what ever.
If the price goes up during the period, eg. the opening price is lower than the closing the candlestick is green if the rice goes down in that period eg the opening is higher than the closing of the candlestick the colour is red.
492  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HAVE you tried daily trading using SMA on: September 04, 2017, 02:55:42 PM
Thats where this strategy pays off when sharp moves on market>

Entry/Exit
•   Buy BTC - when BTC price is above SMA100, and SMA100 is above SMA200
•    Exit BTC and hold fiat  - when BTC price is below SMA100 and half way to SMA200
Check a photo of exit here>https://www.yogile.com/kiyq02h7#21t

NOTE> That this is test and according to signals we made an Exit BTC and hold fiat at 4575$ and still hold $ until it wont happen  "entry BTC signal - BTC price is above SMA100, and SMA100 is above SMA200".
I can see some logic in what you are saying conserning enterinmg and exit. In this case what i donīt understand is the need for 1 in candlesticks.. because you are not necessarily aiming for daytrade... So why so short candlesticks?
493  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have a QUESTION on: September 04, 2017, 10:27:25 AM
So you see guys, i am really starting to like the idea of trading bitcoins and other alternative coins. And i really wanna try it, but sadly, I really don't know where i should start. Given the fact that i dont have a personal computer or a laptop. All i have is an iphone gifted to me by my sister. So my question is, can I do trading by using only my cellular phone? I mean, I can't have different kind of wallets for other coins because almost all new altcoins dont offer a wallet app for iphone. Should i forget the idea of getting into trading?
To be quite honest, over an iphone alone i would only by coins to hold. Not short term trading.
try to see wich of the established coins have iphone wallets. download cointicker or a similar app to be ontop of the prices and buy to hold mid to long term.
Poloniex mobile site is not bad but wont allow you to porper analyze things fordaytrading.
494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice please on what to do with my coin on: September 04, 2017, 10:24:17 AM
You enter at a hype. Wrong move, lesson learned. Donīt make another wrong move to learn the lesson. Keep you 4600 BTC and wait. Before the year ends you will be at good profit. If your heart cant take the emotions, put a sell order on 2 or 3% gain and forget about in. in the short future ou have your fiat back at a small profit and you keep on leaving without an heart condition:)
495  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when prices are falling on: September 04, 2017, 10:20:23 AM
Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

If you donīt need the money right now and donīt have that much expertise in short term trading just seat tight, donīt panic and wait. Thjose three coins and probably some other on your portfolio will reach new ATH.

Of course you can sell at a loss to mantain liquidity and keep trading. but remenber if you loose , you will have to trade first to recover the loss and then beggin winning. So sometimes itīs better to relax and wait.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: I want to invest 1000 USD into crypto on: September 04, 2017, 07:25:15 AM
Alright, let's say I have a budget of 1000 USD and I want to invest it into cryptocurrency. Is it better to buy my own setup and mine or do cloud mining or should I buy some coins directly ? What cryptocurrency might be the best for long-term profit ? I am willing to lose that money (although I would be sad ofc) but I wanna somehow start with cryptos since I believe it has got a great future.

As for mining vs trading i would go for tarding as electricity costs in my country are huge and my knowlegde very scarse. I would also stay AWAY from cloudmining.
As for trading diversify. 50% BTC ( some could go in margin tarding lending). 25% well established alts like ETH and MONERO. 15% cheap alts like XBY. 10% is dividend paying tokens like TAAS.

This is not trading advice just an example on how i would diversify 1000 to reduce risk.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - INTEGRATIVE MODULAR BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATIONS on: September 03, 2017, 10:38:27 PM
lijoe408, you see, the main problem is a lack of serious funding.
This is amazing project but developed on pure enthusiasm, therefore it might take months-years to see proper working product.
For instance, currently they are looking for testnet participants (ideally 512) but there are only 150+ signed so far.
If there was bonus/bounty for participants, devs would gather required amount of participants in no time, thats pretty obvious..

IMO, devs should make a donation fund to keep the development going smoothly.
According to XBY rich list there are a lot of whales sitting on bags with millions xby, if they share as little as few percent of that
amout with devs which they spend on futher development/marketing/bounties etc, that would be mutually beneficial for everyone.

Iīm holding XBY for a while. Iīll to their slack and see if i can be of any use to the project. Enthusiastic developers are not a bad thing. SCAM ICO and runaway provids lotīs of funding, and no development...So, its not that bad.
498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My day trading plan on: September 03, 2017, 07:08:18 PM
300 to 3000 in a month. for me this is the only number that matters. Too good. as i saw in some response above you will have to divide your capital because if you are constantly going all in you can be left with nothing to trade or be forced to trade at big losses.
499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what do you think about pump and dump? on: September 03, 2017, 07:03:06 PM
what do you think about pump and dump?  did you ever trade on pump and dump event? can you give few tips for how to make money from this events? what i need to look for?
In alt coin markets most pumps and dumps are orchestrated. So there is an individual or group that as enough money to make the market move. As an outsider you should be very careful because you will mostly left with a bag of coins that you you will be buying to high and wont be able to sell before the value is too low.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HAVE you tried daily trading using SMA on: September 03, 2017, 03:34:56 PM
Have you got any explanations why you prefer lower SMA values on shorter timeframe 1min chart. The longer gives me less noise and less decisons to make and thats why I rely on SMA100 and SMA200. I am curious why I could benefit with lower than 100SMA? Tell us more.

I would not mix Long SMA with such short timeframe trades. For shorter timeframe trades i set moving averages to lower values. But anyway, did not test this so much because i dont use SMAīs alone.
As i told you i donīt use SMAīs alone. But longer moving averages would be good to predict support and resistence as well as put stop loss value. But to try to figure out momentum and trend on very short term deals i feel shorter term moving averages are more apropriate than to have infos on trend and momentum for 200 or 100 days.
