Epic scenes at Bramall lane, Sheffield United drew back level against Arsenal and very deservedly so, after playing extremely well during the second period. Couple of minutes later, arsenal go back on top through the substitute Ceballos.
I must say I've seen a much better Sheffield in the 2nd half than I have seen all through since the restart, but they look set to miss out on a place in the semi-finals.

I backed all the away teams to score Over 1.5 goals today and the first one just got in. Fingers crossed for the rest of the day.

I'm guessing the post you claim to have made is this one on cryptotalk; https://cryptotalk.org/topic/107162-how-to-keep-your-account-secured/ Both posts are reported to have been posted 22 hours ago on the search engine, based on forum time on bitcointalk, I don't know how timing works on the other forum so I can not tell which post was made first, maybe you can confirm that? And if the other one was made first, except baniakash can prove both posts were made by him/her then it's clear plagiarism
4303  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Captcha bypass v2 on: June 27, 2020, 06:42:41 PM
As a guest, you can access a page like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote.
Would it be generated on every IP login, will a single IP get multiple addresses to pay to when they access the forum at different times as guests? I don't know how much data the forum stores, but for this to happen I guess the admins would need to access every unique login and know when the forum is accessed from a new device.
This is going to be complicated to implement, the captcha bypass works fine for now and if you click on always logged in you will not need to go through it once logged in.

I can't see "captcha bypass" option in my account ?  Is there any thing i am missing here ?
Edit- It's not a paid option, it is available when logging into your account, or go here to access it; https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php
4304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: everything was fine untill BSV scam appeared on: June 26, 2020, 09:33:29 PM
It could be due to the inflation, when the supply of a product increases. So many Bitcoin forks have been created and airdropped to hodlers of bitcoin and with a supply increase the value would have to adjust, it's similar to what happens in staked coins where the value drops as more coins are created.
The tussles between some of these projects and the claims of being Satoshi by the creators have not helped to improve the credibility of the projects.
4305  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Make it just a little more difficult to create a new account. on: June 26, 2020, 06:23:05 PM
I'm not even sure people are creating 20, 30, or 100 accounts like they were back in 2015-17 when all it took to rank them up was to post regularly.
I also don't think so, the period you cited was when Bitcoin had the most buzz around it and ICOs were benefiting from the hype, hence creating multiple low-ranked accounts on the forum must have been productive as some of the ICO bounties I've seen accepted Jr members who did not need a single merit to rank up even after the merit system was initiated.

The buzz of that period have quietened down and ICOs are not as popular anymore, the enhanced newbie restrictions has also worked to limit the growth of account farms, there may still be a few from back then, but it's a diminishing system.
4306  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy supposed to be a political tools? on: June 26, 2020, 10:09:49 AM
To the best of my knowledge the federal government does not draw up fiscal policies, they rather approve them when a bill is passed, the central bank of a Nation is responsible for making economic policies which they think would benefit the nation.

You should also note that the sector that makes the policies is different from where actual bills are printed. The idea of 'printing money out of thin air' should not be taken literally as this rarely happens. What the central banks does is they put measures in place to counter the effect of an economic issue;
During a recession, an expansive monetary policy would be passed and this would help to stimulate the economy and increase the cash flow without printing more actual bank notes. This can be done by;
• Making cheaper credits available for banks. This would increase the amounts local banks can borrow from the federal reserves, the bank in turn would make loans readily available for the populace at cheaper interest rates. This is done to stimulate SMEs by injecting more money into the market.
• They can also engage in quantitative easing: were the central banks would buy securities and bonds from member banks, and provide them with credits in those amounts, this increases the liquidity in Banks and increases the flow of money. This was done by the Federal reserve in America during the 2008 financial crisis

These measures are rarely taken proactively and are usually implemented after a recession has already hit, hence the outcomes are not usually very impressive, they are used to set an economy on the path to recovery. It could take several years after it's implementation for the economy to begin to expand.

First off, you can start by learning a few basic things about bitcoin through this links
- Bitcoin whitepaper - https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf
The Bitcoin whitepaper is not a basic aspect of Bitcoin, and I will only recommend it to newbies as a reference to understand the purpose of Bitcoin and it's origin, but it contains so many technical stuffs that would be difficult to understand.

Op, welcome to the forum, you have already gotten a handful of useful answers.
i need to know the dos and the donts about Bitcoin and this forum
One of the don'ts is; do not see Bitcoin or this forum as a get rich quick scheme, this is why most users fall victim to scams or get banned for trying to cheat the system. Always gain knowledge before trying to profit.
You can always use the SEARCH option at the top icons, when looking up anything Bitcoin related, there is a plethora of information on the forum, feel free to ask questions as well.
4308  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk IP log on: June 25, 2020, 10:28:53 AM
No admin know more than 30 days.
It can be limited to 3 months, check the full text for more info
There's now an option in your account settings which will allow you to reduce retention of your logged IPs to 3 months. You should only consider enabling this if you've staked a pubkey in the thread and you're sure that your account email is correct. I'm not sure if 3 months is enough to respond adequately to all abuse; we'll see, and I might change it later or perhaps restrict it based on rank.

How long are records kept for my first log IP address?
The answer is in the link above your reply. There are different retention times for different levels of IP log and you can limit that through the settings on your profile.
Limiting your IP retention would not be applied retrospectively and only reflect in future IP logs, so your first log address would be retained according to the normal retention time.

Click on account related settings on your profile, and tick to limit IP retention

How can I do that?
I found this - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_(networking_utility)

Congratulations on achieving the hero status, make it a challenge to double your efforts so you can achieve greater heights. See you at the top, enjoy your stay on the forum.
Thanks for the advice and for recognizing the efforts of others on the forum.
I also appreciate the lessons, support, advice and corrections I've gotten from a lot of members. It helps build the community and makes it more welcoming to newbies.

I'm still a newbie technically and I read to learn more each day. Putting in effort into developing yourself regardless of your account rank would benefit you both in the knowledge you'll gain and other perks.
4310  Economy / Economics / Re: Roubini Warns about the Incoming Stagflation on: June 25, 2020, 05:06:04 AM
It's dependent on the fiscal policies as well as the health policies the government takes. Every economy has taken a hit, some more than others. Uncertainty about the future is high and this could stall growth as people would be preparing for the worse and spending would remain very low even if lockdown is effectively lifted. The government actions would be vital, it could raise the optimism and create a market environment which is attractive if the right choices are made or it could raise the negative sentiments if they make the wrong ones.

Most governments missed the chance to act decisively during the onset of the pandemic leading to a greater economic hit, decisive action is still needed. Health measures need to be taken more seriously, as it's closely linked with economic recovery. If countries open up too much, too early, there's the risk of a second wave which would spread fear and panic and slow down any recovery.

The article is not pessimistic imo, it would be the reality if not prevented through; improved infrastructure, better health and safety practices, well regulated cash injections.
4311  Economy / Economics / Re: Is global adoption of Bitcoin possible post-Covid? on: June 25, 2020, 04:43:02 AM
I think these issues are already what Bitcoin is striving to fight with but in current times they seem to be more deadly. Bitcoin is providing a practical solution for it at-least as a stable alternative to Fiat.
Bitcoin was created during the aftermath of the 2008 recession and many assumed it was meant to correct the failures of the banking sector and salvage the economy, these however is not stated anywhere in the white paper. I don't think Bitcoin was created to prevent the collapse of global economies or to thrive in crisis. It's a trustless peer-to-peer payment option that gives the public an alternative. It may or may not be the solution to a global crisis.

Pros and cons;
• Bitcoin can be used to prevent inflation caused by debit financing due to its limited supply, but if more people held due to less spending there'll be more demand than supply and could lead to deflation.
• On the debt issue, Bitcoin can only be used to finance debts if it became globally accepted and it would function like any financial tool in this regards. It wouldn't prevent debtors from losing part of their territory if they can not repay their loans.
• It can be used as a hedge fund for those who want to escape the uncertainty of their local currency.

How Bitcoin would function in the future either as a staple currency or an alternative to fiat is yet to be seen and with time and adoption it would mature into the currency of the future

Recently updated the OP with some of my threads.
I do not post topics that much so I do not get that much merit (according to some of my friends, the best way is through posting)
Posting topics does not guarantee merits. I compiled them as they are much easier to sift through than replies, do more reading and contribute constructively to discussions, you'll gain more knowledge to share with other users
4313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 24, 2020, 06:31:11 PM
Full time scores;
Manchester United 3
Sheffield United 0

Newcastle United1
Aston Villa 1

Norwich City 0
Everton 1

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1
AFC Bournemouth 0

Results are going pretty much as expected. Manchester United have been impressive with great play in the midfield and attack. Martial has gotten a brace and if he can get one more he'll score his first United hatrick and the club's first hatrick since 2013 (Van Persie)

Edit: Martial gets his hatrick and United gets their third
Aston Villa equalize and look to grab one vital point which gives them a lifeline in the struggle to reman in the league
4314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does deleting of old post affects a participant who is handling signature? on: June 24, 2020, 04:06:57 PM
So, it depends on which posts are deleted.
True, that's why average post per activity period counts. You can selectively delete posts across each period and it has no effect on your total score.
I just want to clear it up, so my account will look much better.
It depends on how much posts you plan on clearing up. You can afford to lose a couple of activity points as you are member ranked and require >60 activity to retain your rank.
4315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does deleting of old post affects a participant who is handling signature? on: June 24, 2020, 02:32:28 PM
Please does deleting of my old previous post that has been made for years on BITCOINTALK FORUM affects my present activities when it comes to Bounty signature Campaign that am handling presently.
No, most managers would count your individual posts rather than simply subtracting the previous post count from the current one. Most campaigns have board specifications as well as minimum characters to be eligible and managers have to properly check each week.

On your activity count, that would only be affected if you post and activity count are close. You have 712 posts and 546 activity, deleting a couple of posts would not affect your score. Although, some users see post deletion as an attempt to hide something, so you should have a valid reason to delete old posts
4316  Economy / Economics / Re: What if this pandemic persists till the end of the year? on: June 24, 2020, 01:44:53 PM
If people continue to behave like this, then we are definitely threatened by the second wave, although in some countries the first wave has not passed yet.
The general optimism and reduced fear factor would lead to lesser precautions being taken and increased risk a second wave in most places and a longer first wave in others.
In my country we are still battling with rising numbers and the government has opened some sectors while others have been told to prepare to open up. More bank branches as well as markets are opening up with schools looking to open soon.
It appears people would have to learn to live with the virus until we get an effective vaccine, but then some would die from the virus and more efforts should be taken to prevent this.

If we take notes from countries that were more pro active in handling the virus and are experiencing lesser economic crashes, it would seem that effectively fighting the virus would benefit the economy.
4317  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Black Americans are hypocrites, claims black lives matter but hate on Africans. on: June 24, 2020, 10:41:08 AM
The book- Americana by Ngozi Adichie discusses on the identity struggle within Africans in diaspora especially the African Americans.
Africans shipped abroad were cut off from their history and roots and were forced to accept new identities, so much time elapsed in-between and they can no longer reconcile with what they used to be (Africans) and hence they can no longer identify as or with Africans same way some afro-latinos refuse to identify as blacks even though they are.
The pains and struggles of their transition from Africans to AA may be the cause of the resentment towards Africans. Another problem is history is not taught enough and this further widens the divide.

Tools like the media should be utilized appropriately and every race should be given the opportunity to tell their history by themselves, rather then the poor portrayal of Africa as a remote community or that of black Americans as gangsters. If we can all have discussions on sensitive issues without bias, there may be an opportunity to get rid of the hate.
4318  Other / Meta / Re: Why does bitcointalk allows signatures? on: June 24, 2020, 07:36:20 AM
It is also my assurance that a poster is not spamming because of the sig that he is wearing just like, chipmixer. We all know that every participant of it is contributing a lot in this forum.
Using the don't show user's signature option does not help with spam as you still view the posts made by other users

It's a personalized option and is down to user preference. Some members visit the forum only for the discussions and are not interested in the latest projects and websites or they prefer the layout without ads.
Some other members prefer to visit boards were signatures are automatically disabled, as posts there are purely non-incentivised.
4319  Economy / Economics / Re: The Covid19 Curve is Flattening on: June 23, 2020, 04:21:50 PM
Live: WHO reports largest 24-hour increase in coronavirus cases
The above report was made on the 21, June 2020. GMT+3. Nations reopening their economy does not mean the curve is flattening, it's rather a reflection of the impact on the economy which forced nations to make a trade-off between attempting to rescue the economy at the expense of a wider spread. There is also a lower fear globally of the virus compared to when the pandemic was at it's early stages.

Despite the optimism, everyone should still adhere to safe health practices.

Most economies are re-opening and businesses are now operating partially.
The problem with a partial reopening is that sectors are interconnected and closure of half will impact the other half which are allowed to open up slowing down a recovery. Flattening the curve imo, should be given priority over boosting the economy. At the event of a second wave the economy will be harder hit.

This article analyzes the situation during the 1918 flu pandemic and it shares some similarities with the current global crisis - Fight the Pandemic, Save the Economy: Lessons from the 1918 Flu. Admittedly, the 1918 pandemic had a higher mortality rate, but states which kept NPIs (~non-pharmaceutical interventions, like social distancing and mask wearing) in place for longer experienced a quicker economic growth after the pandemic.
4320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 23, 2020, 09:49:47 AM
I will go with over 2,5 in both games, I smell goals today.
I will be focused on the Leicester vs Brighton fixture, both teams are highly motivated, Leicester are in a kinda comfortable position in the quest for top four but need to keep their heads and finish strong, same can be said of Brighton on the other end of the table, they'll look to go further away from the relegation zone. There would likely be lots of goals in both of today's match ups.

Vardy would also be looking to get on the scoresheet to go further ahead in the top scorers list, who you all backing to win the golden boot?
