4301  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Website that shows shops that accept Bitcoin on: October 21, 2017, 03:47:23 PM
i believe this is called a "directory" of different services. and yes i believe it is a very good idea. but there are already some similar ones available.

some examples:
http://spendbitcoins.com/
https://www.bitcoin.com/spend-bitcoin-online
https://www.coindesk.com/information/what-can-you-buy-with-bitcoins/

there are more if you use google to find similar lists, they can give you good idea for your project and also can be good source to update your lists.
4302  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expected Bitcoin price by the end of the day [2017-10-21] on: October 21, 2017, 03:40:56 PM
right now we are in the uncharted waters and bitcoin is unstoppable with the current ongoing rally. and when that happens it is impossible to "predict" the price. so far it seems like $6200 is the nearest target.

we may see another one of those sharp drops back down to $6000 though, so putting some buy orders around those parts can be a good idea to pick some coins up for day traders.
4303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Bubble that is just waiting to pop? 6000/8000!! really? on: October 21, 2017, 03:29:37 PM
maybe it is or maybe it is not. that part is hard to tell.

but i am more interested in knowing why you (and some others like you) are always surprised about bitcoin price!
i mean have you even looked at bitcoin supply, ever? there are about 16.5 million coins mined. they speculate about 1-1.5 million belongs to Satoshi. and there are lost coins for many different reasons. that is about 2.5 million gone.
that leaves us with 14 million coins only. with all the recent media attention and the performance of bitcoin there is a lot more than 14 million people investing in bitcoin, even if every one buys 1 bitcoin, price goes to the moon. much more than $8000!

and that is not even taking into consideration big players like JP Morgan guys and Goldman Sachs,.... who have been investing in bitcoin this year.
4304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinGold is a Scam!?! Carefull with Your Bitcoin Private Keys!!! on: October 21, 2017, 03:08:43 PM
There is no electrum wallet for BCG and the website asking people to enter thevBTC private keys directly onto their website to open an account or wallet of BCG  Huh

you know, creating a website very easy. i can create one right now called "claimbitcoingold-verylegit.com" right now.

will you enter your private keys there also?

the bitcoin gold "website" is called btcgpu.org and i can not see any section there that is for you to "enter your private key".

a dozen other impostors exist out there though!
4305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if bitcoin build a headquarter bank on: October 21, 2017, 02:39:50 PM
what happens if bitcoin builds a bank just like a bank with a headquarters, savings account management and also makes a bitcoin account card ??

bitcoin is not a person to build a bank.
bitcoin is not a centralized group that can build a bank.

anything that is made is made by third parties like you and me.
nothing happens when others offer different services such as wallets (coinbase, xapo,...) exchanges (bitfinex, poloniex,...) gambling sites (....). so nothing will happen when someone offers a "bank" services too.

what did you expect to happen anyways?
4306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Cashout BitCoins? on: October 21, 2017, 02:33:17 PM
i rarely "cash=out" from bitcoin. i am in it for the long haul and i even have been keeping my profit in bitcoin. meaning every time i make trade using bitcoin fluctuations or trade altcoins to make profit, i end up having more bitcoin not more fiat. and when bitcoin goes down i buy even more to have more bitcoin.

i believe in much higher prices which means selling at 5k, 6k, 10k is like losing a large amount of money.

but to answer your question, on those rare occasions i sell bitcoin, i sell it to those who want to buy. meaning p2p but not to those who buy and sell, but just are looking to buy so i can get a better deal.
4307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to BTC after hardfork? on: October 21, 2017, 02:28:11 PM
Any idea what will happen to the BTC after hardfork? Will it go down ?

if price is your only concern then visit the speculation board there are a lot of discussions about this.
i think it may go down, even if it is a correction. the timing will be right anyways. even if it had nothing to do with the "fork".

if other things are your concern then don't worry about this upcoming fork called bitcoin gold, nothing will change. unless they fail with their replay protection you have nothing to worry about.
4308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where do I place 100k? on: October 20, 2017, 06:07:08 AM
if 100K is dollar (not Zimbabwe fiat Wink) then it is such a big amount to invest, specially if you don't know what to do that you have to ask other random people on this forum for help.

my advice is to start smaller. don't go in big as your first step. unless you have been investing in cryptocurrencies for a while now (at least a year). because you need to understand how the market works, lose some money first before you really understand it and that loss breaks your illusions about altcoins mooning or getting rich over night with holding bitcoin,...

then my suggestion is to buy bitcoin first with 100% of your money then invest some of the bought bitcoin in trading. try both trading bitcoin and altcoins and take profit from altcoin pumps but never linger long in them.
4309  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Physical Bitcoin on: October 20, 2017, 05:30:41 AM
the only purpose of physical bitcoins is (as it has always been) to be a collectible item. the value is also higher because of that. they need to be rare, as collectibles are, and have an interesting design so that it is pretty to hold one.

there is a board for them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0
4310  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC drop after fork 25th on: October 20, 2017, 05:19:49 AM
This is only a speculation and theres no big eveidence that it will happen  after the fork, what if the opposite happens instead of drop we will see a massive increase on the price after the fork. Like what happen on last hard fork,  they say that bitcoin will crash going to $2000 ,but they were all wrong.
If you look deeply there was a massive dump just after fork but that didn't last long, price of bitcoin recovered from that dump and actually set new ATH price.

I am expecting drop to below $5k after fork and recovery to over $7000 within end of this year.
Dumping is caused by speculators in order to buy back on low prices. After the fork price will head down to 4000$ level which we will not see this price again after this year.

i don't really expect any dump as big as $1700 (to go down to $4000) just because of "speculators". there was already that kind of dump and price went down to $5100 and even after the 25th if people cash out when they get their BTG, i still don't expect a big drop.
unless it comes with some kind of FUD to cause a bear market.
4311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not the new gold, Goldman Sachs says on: October 20, 2017, 05:10:54 AM
i never get the fascination for comparing bitcoin and gold. they have nothing in common. with gold being physical and being around as long as humanity Wink and bitcoin being digital and decentralized and being around for 8 years, it is practically a toddler versus an ancient comparison.
4312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coin trading exchanges on: October 19, 2017, 06:29:16 AM
you should add bittrex to the list of bad exchanges that are dishonest and risky to use. they just changed their rules and according to those rules (that are still unclear by the way) blocked a large number of accounts.

i for one have my bitcoin's and multiple altcoins stuck in that exchange and i can not withdraw! and this change was without any prior warning, otherwise i would have withdrawn before it even went into effect.

maybe one day one of the decentralized exchange altcoins will solve all our problems

i am also hoping that can happen, i have been researching about these decentralized exchanges but i am not happy so far.

if someone has any suggestion regarding this i would be happy to hear it.
4313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Invest On Bitcoin Before Upcoming Hard Fork? on: October 19, 2017, 06:20:40 AM
it will go up and down for the following days until the fork. i still don't believe the current rise has anything to do with BTG fork. which is why i say the fork itself won't affect bitcoin price either.
last day's drop was just a shakeout to clean the market from weaker hands.

there is still the risk of some drop although there is no indication of it yet.

I think those who wants to get those free bitcoin gold are still in the market and only a few has been shaken and get out before loosing their investment. But yes, I more inclined to say that after the fork we may see another price drop when people dump and go back to altcoins trading.

actually i was talking about other reasons that will come up in the future not because of bitcoin gold. i believe any drop caused by bitcoin gold is going to be minimal.

i am pointing to the SegWit2x fork in November which will start its drama soon after the BTG fork. and there is a good chance that the drop because of it becomes big. possible back to $4k level until it is resolved.
4314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading or HODLING on: October 19, 2017, 06:08:19 AM
hodling alone is not profitable!
you hodl as a long term investment, for example you buy bitcoin when it was $200 2 years ago and hodl it for years (at least 5) and start either selling or spending depending on where you are to take that profit.
the same with any price though, $200 was an example. you can buy now at $5500 and hodl for 5 years and spend bitcoin when it is $500,000!

trading, or day trading, is when you want more profit than what you are already getting. i have tried both and i found that doing trades when i am most sure is the best strategy i can take.
i keep profit in bitcoin so i am always happy.
when i am sure of a movement i make a decision and for example sell before an FUD dump and then buy back in a couple of days when it is at the bottom. to have more bitcoin in my HODL wallet.

altcoins come in as the second part of my short term profits. since they are getting pumped, the potential profit that can be made from them is absurdly high. again here i go in only when i am sure not when i guess.
4315  Economy / Speculation / Re: $6000 comming through on: October 19, 2017, 05:59:14 AM
The last split did not reduce the price of bitcoin. On the contrary, we saw a sharp price increase. I hope that thanks to this split we will see a very high price. And also we get a new free coin

The free new coin can be dumped, but there are risks involved. You have to ensure that you safely 'harvest' the new coin and don't lose out because of replay attack. Some people are lucky enough to dump the new coins quickly and profit.
That's their plan definitely, seeing how bch moves means who got it just dumped it after having it free.and btc value might falls too after unless some good news might make it through that amount this month.

The Last Split was performed well before the hardfork with full planned and with well built wallets but bitcoin gold still did not have built wallet and still their is no plan disclosed. Their is doubts of whether the Bitcoin Gold hardfork will happen or not as many miners and other are not supporting it. So this hardfork we have to be safe in lot of way as scammers will surely give their wallets and steal the private key of the users bitcoin wallet while claiming it and hack it.

i wouldn't even call BCH as the last "Split", it was a dumb fork off like 600 other altcoins that forked from bitcoin. they just did an airdrop and a lot of media spam so they gained a lot of undeserved attention. in the end it was just another shitcoin added to the endless list of shitcoins. the worst part about it was the fact that they attacked bitcoin and there is always a risk as long as BCH exists since it can simply leach the hashrate from bitcoin.
BTG at least is not attacking bitcoin and it can not get any hashrate from bitcoin.

4317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Segwit2x Affect Investors on: October 19, 2017, 05:44:40 AM
hopefully not much.
but it is a little too soon to give any better opinion about this. as we get closer to the fork there may be some FUD and finally a lot of panic (just like the August 1st fork and SegWit fork) and price may drop.

if you are a trader this can be a good chance to sell before the panic and buy back more cheap coins and make a nice profit.
if you are a long term investor it is also a good chance to increase the amount of bitcoin you hold.
4318  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: October 18, 2017, 03:45:54 PM

thanks for sharing the link.
this is not an explanation really it is just an excuse. the fact of the matter is that they suddenly decided to change their rules without giving their users notice first.
if i knew they are going to enforce this kind of verification on me i would have withdrawn my money from there. now it is stuck!
4319  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info supporting segwit2x question on: October 18, 2017, 03:36:58 PM
you should not be storing your coins on blockchain.info in first place. specially if you have large amounts of bitcoin.

start looking into cold storage types and choose one for yourself. hardware wallets are good if you want to spend money and buy one, paper wallet is also good if you don't want to spend money and want to store bitcoin for long term.
and move your coins there.

4320  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex on: October 18, 2017, 03:27:04 PM
I will stick to Livecoin.net and Cryptopia for now to trade rare cryptos. It sucks because Bittrex got the most volume, but I dont see any other way out.

sadly i am currently looking for a replacement, i should try livecoin since i have never tested it. but cryptopia is my current choice. although you are right these other exchanges are too small with low volumes, it makes it tough to trade.

i actually was searching more for "decentralized exchanges" these past days. not been so fruitful though.
