441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Crooks are not Who We Thought They Were on: March 01, 2014, 07:30:18 AM
Maybe Japan just wanted all that USD/JPY/EUR/GBP/AUD, before the USA attempted to seize it all...

Didn't hear mention of any other denomination other than USD... What volume of the BTC stolen was on the other exchange/pairs? Why are they even valuing it in USD in Japan? So... all BTC was lost, from all exchange/pairs, but only USD is going to take the hit?

Can't wait to see what the actual criminal investigators and government auditors find... Since his word of loss, is only good for applying for "Bankruptcy Protection", not for actually getting it approved. Than again, it was "Bankruptcy protection" that he filed for, not actual "Bankruptcy".
442  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The US Govt stole your coins - not MtGox on: March 01, 2014, 07:11:46 AM
You know... it is like a 1:987654982364832846873287468237648732684692423684683276483268463286 chance to find the pass-phrase to open a wallet...

However, that being said...

You can still find it in 1 shot...

However, I do believe the draining was a long-term thing. The only good thing about that, is that there is a record of every transaction that was "resent", since the coins were not drained "accidentally", and it could only have been done if someone purposely altered the txid that Gox was using to confirm the "sent transaction"...

Eg, They know everyone that they re-sent to... because they have double withdraw records. One of each transaction was just "nullified", so it didn't come off that accounts balance. (Even if they didn't have the original Txid, they have the resent txid, and can check the address, and find 2 exact transfers, one after the other.)

Now... hopefully the idiots doing this, (though doubtfully), had verified accounts. (Accounts which had multiple IP's show, were forced to verify. Large transactions were forced to verify. Thus, some verification must exist, as well as a list of IP's or one singular IP for each drained account used.)

If that is actually the case. (Which I honestly doubt.)

I find it more believable that "someone", not K, has drained the wallets. After having somehow gotten access to the wallet and with equal access to the records.

That, or his wallets got "crypted" by that BTC ransom virus... which is uncrackable, and would require the ransom to be paid, to decrypt it. (Until the gov catches that guy, and freely decrypts everyone's locked computers.)

Or...

There was this other "Issue" with wallets... kind of a little known annoyance.

After the first 100 addresses that are created in a wallet.dat file... You can create many more. However, unless you have those saved, knowing the actual created addresses... they can never be "recreated", from an older backup of the wallet. Thus, those funds are essentially "gone", unless you randomly find the randomly created prior addresses, by luck.

That would make them "not gone", but "not accessible", which is a word he used in an interview.

The only solution to resolve that, is to not let the wallet create the addresses, you use a wallet generator, which is external, and can re-create the same random addresses, if given a seed-value. Then you just add those addresses to your wallet.dat file, to use them. (If the wallet becomes corrupt, you can still recreate it, using the external address generator. But not the wallet itself.)

Only sad part of the above... it does not work for "returned change", which will go to a new random address, beyond the 100, and out of the scope of the address generator.

honestly, the wallet needs an overhaul.

There is always simple "espionage"... hidden cameras, invisible tracer-paint on keypads, key loggers, database prying, packet-sniffing... It is not like he hand-built the systems himself. Nor did he have 24/7 security control, with security-watchers watching them, like a casino has.

It is time Gox was purchased by a real trade-market manager, with the security and protections it needs. Including fraud detection, and live audits.

Also.. how the hell did the audits NOT detect this? They had to audit off something real. (That alone says it probably wasn't actually a draining of a wallet.)

Whatever... a real criminal investigation is now underway. The reality will be exposed, then a real auditor will re-evaluate the actual losses... since his estimations were not legally valued like they should have been. 10,000 BTC deposited 4 years ago, was not worth today's prices, if it was never sold. It was worth the value at the time of deposit or of the last trade it had. He estimated all values at today's prices, including his own coins.

Not to mention all the dead accounts that were fake, and not a loss, because the depositors are dead, or in prison, or can never legally verify. (Thieves will not be going through the verification process to get laundered money that they stole, and now have to claim, for fear of being caught. Those have to come off the top of the "losses" also, and have to go to "unclaimed funds", which will just become, "unclaimed losses".)

Yea, because you don't want the public to know your public name...  Roll Eyes

That was the point... They could have sent an email, and they continued to reply here.

Should they have said, Sorry #678 I don't have any info for you.

Darn, now that person has to come up with a new fake name to hide behind, the mask has been revealed!

You are right, if you want to remain anonymous, you should have that right... But you should not assume that everyone shares that same view, and should state that before opening your trap. Or use emails, and not public forums.

File a police report for that too... Under sirminesalot. Let me know how that goes for you. Curious to see what the charges would be. Social disorder, use of a public name in public, without express written permission, after being addressed and addressing the addressee.

444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 05:47:45 AM
We are on a FORUMS where users use HANDLES to preserve their real identity. For them to OPENLY post on the thread someone's name because they don't like what they are hearing, is TRULY unprofessional.  I'm pretty sure 99% of the people here would agree that them posting responses using real names was just a straight up dick move. At least if they greeted you by NAME in bank, it won't be with a loud speaker, and it's not left on the internet for the world to see. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!

No, that is why YOU are on the forums, because you are a coward in real life, and want to hide behind a pseudo-name.

We can't all use our real names as member-names, because it is impossible to do... there are too many of us with the same exact names... that is why facebook adds a number to your name. JohnSmith123, JohnSmith64345, JohnSmith3846723... who am I exposing by addressing JohnSmith? 123, 64345, or 3846723?

Mine is an advertisement name... search it, and you find my real name... my websites, and anything-else related to my actual person. (Still doesn't show exactly "which" of those names is actually me. There are other people with my exact name, and your exact name.)

Phin even posted his address...

The "customer" who addresses them here, in the "official post", with specifics to the order, (as opposed to e-mails), obviously is posting as a customer, with a name, not an anonymous pseudo-name. How else would they identify them? They don't know that "ISAWHIM" placed an order. They know me by my name. If they were talking to me (my name), in a forum, they might address me as me.

What are you haxor! lol, give me a break. I am sure you have a facebook page with your name, and if I searched for your "handle", something would lead me back to you, as a human.

So, the customer must have full disclosure of the business, but customers must remain completely anonymous to other customers... but only be "know by the secret identity" (their real ununique name) by the business themselves... So much for being a "community".

Sorry... I just don't see it... You are no-one important. Nor are you of any importance to have a "non specific" thing like a "name" exposed. It isn't like they are telling everyone your address and SSN. You don't own your name, nor is your name unique. There are 12 people with your name, I am sure... Nothing isolates "you" as owner of "that name". Your NAME is just a pseudo-representation of your identity. As outlined on your birth-certificate, which is the only thing that identifies you as you, when matched with your records.

You want anonymity, order from craigslist... Or disclose that you don't want your name mentioned. That is not a normal assumption, except by those that assume it.
445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 05:33:24 AM
He gets off on being a crusader. He also gets a response. Just look at the BlackArrow thread. No official word or action til Bruno pissed them off.

How do you know his crap isn't what put them out of business... Could be that they just said fuck-it, and screwed everyone, due to his bull-shit... (Not that I think black-arrow was legit myself.)

Hell AMT almost abandoned us completely... but they didn't... due to similar crap.

Best thing any business can do, in this field, is avoid public forums... lol. (Unless they are spamming with fake accounts, acting like customers.)
446  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 05:28:35 AM
Once AMT_Miners started addressing customers by their real names like that: they lost a lot of trust, and opened themselves up to the same treatment.

Yea, the last thing I want them to do is start addressing me by my actual name! Whoooo big flags light-up when I walk into a bank and they look at my ID and say... Can we help you Mr John Smith?

Run, they know your name! Burn them at the steak, they addressed Mr John Smith as Mr John Smith!

That is a violation of the anonymous collision! How dare they!

I am calling the police right now... Hello, Police I am... Um... Some guy... and I would like to report... Um... Some other guy, who's name I can't mention... How fast can you arrest... Um.. him... or her.. or them...

What is this Harry Potter?

I would find it strange if they called me Mr ISAWHIM in person...
447  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 05:01:20 AM
According to your logic, if some entity named AcMe MIners started an official thread for hawking their wares, later, when serious question arise about their operation, NO relative information in that regard should be placed on ACME's official thread. Correct?

I am still trying to get them to change the 20x10x20 cm size stat... and 8.0lbs. stat...

If it isn't official, or their information... then no... You go to one of the already existing topics called "scams", and post your crap there, or make a new post for your detective-work.

Better yet... you contact the police... the FBI... or anyone-else with proof of the crimes. Failure to do so, knowing a crime has been committed, makes you just as guilty and a possible accessory. Even if you did yell out loud, "thieves!"

Why no police report... Since you claim to be "helping us out", by trying to "save us from fraud"... Show them your proof of fraud, and come back here with the filed police report, and a follow-up investigation from real certified investigators. I would entertain their post, as i have entertained yours. However, their post would help us, unlike yours, which does nothing to help us. (If it were a little more clear, it might... But I doubt that.)

You could seriously start your own threads, and people would even help you collect information that MIGHT actually be helpful... if they didn't have to dig through the pink-words and hundreds of posts, with personal knocks between your findings. Knocks that have crude racist remarks, and lack any professionalism or seriousness. Might even make a few bucks doing your searches!

Not to mention, posting one link, is a lot easier to digest, in a thread. (A link to your own thread with the bible of information you collected.) If you have a reputation, you can use that to your advantage. But I don't recall AMT calling you a white-trash Caucasian-cracker... So that makes them more trusting than your posts. (Or what-ever derogatory remark best suits your race, or lack there-of.)

P.S. I am a white-trash Caucasian-cracker... I just assume everyone-else is also...
448  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 04:54:50 AM
Yeah, right. And after you 'CONSULT' with Josh, you can ask him to shove his penis down your throat - because that's how you've been acting in regards to AMT this whole thread. Fucking AMT fanboy from the start with nothing to show for it, as of yet.

I'd be worried about getting into any business dealings with you ISAWHIM because I question your decision making. You seem pretty intelligent, maybe you're just blinded by those dollar signs in your eyes, I don't get it.

Why are you here again? Did you want a refund for your miner, or are you waiting like the rest of us, for delivery?

Phin is obviously only here to bash AMT... That is clear. (That's my detective work for the day)

If I ordered from KNC I would have nothing to show for it either... or BFL... or the china-knock-offs... Yet. So your point is moot. If I were a fanboy, I would be running around telling people to buy AMT miners. That, I am surely not doing, at this point, nor have I ever. (Once a miner is in my hands, reviewed, dissected and running... Then I might become a fanboy.)

You want to know who is accountable... the person who cashed the check... the credit-card... the wire... the BTC... It isn't like there is a mystery shop hidden off-shore operating this business.

As for the "blah blah blah.. mining growing thin.. diff climbing... sensitive market..." Yea, that is why we purchased next-gen hardware. To have the advantage over all those with old crap, that will disappear when we start mining. If they stay, then obviously they are getting returns with their old crap, so our new crap which is 10x faster, should be more than fine. You are not mining for today, you are mining for tomorrow. If you are mining BTC, at a loss, that is your choice. Mine something more rewarding.
449  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 04:32:05 AM
Listen, if AMT was more upfront about who was running the business and working for them: people like Phin wouldn't have to dig for intel.

I do completely agree with that... I will not argue that I would like to have that known too. However, that, to me, is just a wish, not a desire.

I don't care who runs apple, or microsoft, or even these forums... I don't even know who owns the electric company... But I still pay the bills and buy things from them.

What matters most, is what they deliver. (To me... and deliver to me! lol)

I guess I am just still more understanding to the situation than the few who have made it clear, that they are less understanding and have thinly growing patience. Anticipation kills, even if this was all executed on-time and all estimations were 100% accurate... this forum would be full of the same posts. Until the second the miner arrives, and we never hear back from 90% of the people who posted before it arrived. Tongue

The detective-work, along with the other facts, has a place... Just not in the official post.
450  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 04:11:48 AM
To throw a new topic in the mix, has anyone ever thought of all of us making a pool mine together?

That would be amazing, and then make our own COIN. We would call it: WaitingForAsicCoin  or WFAC LOL.

WFAC coin!!!!

I want to make my own coin... But that is a topic for another day... Tongue Completely unrelated to AMT, but designed for sha256. It does require more than me, for the creation, so until I find a decent team, it waits for the opportune moment to strike.

Perhaps when Josh has more time on his hands, I could use his consulting service, and existing miners-base as the "opening-day" release for the coin. But until I have mine to play with, there is no need to move forward with talk of a coin-design. lol.

Though, an AMT pool would be a big promotional point, when the miners come into possession. They could even "test-mine" on the pool, giving those mined blocks to the "first buyers", while also showing customers, "Hey your miner is built, and being tested now, watch it mine for you live." With the link to the miner on the pool, with the same number as the order, to identify it, until it is shipped-out.

Sans bold pink text and multiple thoughts, the only sites I quoted were of those that Joshua Zipkin personally has/had control of, knowing damn well the difference you've kindly outlined.

But how is having control of a website = scammer? (That is the part I am having trouble digesting.)

Amazon owns lots of websites, as does ebay/paypal, as does microsoft... They also offer some consulting, and have some consulting done for them.
452  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 01, 2014, 03:32:27 AM
Sorry Josh, but I have to add more info about you, for this point. (This is all public information posted by "Joshua Zipkin", as indicated by the matching photos and locations.)

Ok... Phin...

Let me try this in a civil manor...

Joshua Zipkin has a "Web Hosting Service", like I do... He hosts "other peoples websites", and helps them get started with setup and operation, AKA a consultant. These customers own the websites, he registers the names for them, and obviously hosts them on his web-servers. (Just like I do.)

Here, let me get that profile information for you...

Imagine a marketplace for all group buying deals:
A deal site, payment processor and coupon issuer, all in one. The Deal Fair is the first with this unique offering, aggregating group-buying deals from across the web and combining them it with user selected interests and location. Also, like with Amazon, local businesses can start their own shop or “deal”, and sell directly through the system without third parties getting in the way.

Not seeing "scammer" anywhere... I am seeing a man, like myself, who has had decent jobs, and has expanded his field. Getting into more of a hardware edge, which includes the knowledge of the software edge he is familiar with.

Listing crap about the sites he "hosts", or has "offered assistance with", but does not OWN... is useless. Registration of the name is not ownership of the content.

You have also yet to provide some actual proof that the man he addressed, was actually his father. Though, you have made reasonable assumptions by his statements about the description of the person in question. (Still irrelevant to AMT as a business.)

Frauds would not go forward and make purchases, and continue to produce items, and then attempt to actually deliver. Frauds do nothing, thus, making them frauds. These guys are doing as they have promised, and are building us miners. (Though the other promises have fallen slightly short, they have not been fraudulent about it.)

The photos show some rather expensive operation setups. Obviously not bitmine.ch labs, and obviously with specific AMT designs. Things are moving as fast as I am sure they can. But obviously moving forward. We were not sent more "renderings", and "wish-lists", and "text-updates", but rather some physical evidence of actual production. (They would not produce if the machines did not already function, or did not have anything to actually produce.)

Your investigations are now falling on deaf ears. People here have already made purchases. You are just pissing them all off now. Thanks for diverting that anger, but your vendetta is still a little too informal for many to even understand. (Seriously, if you want a more effective acceptance of your findings, they need to be short, to the point, and strongly supported with facts. Not just assumptions of "if this is..." and "if that were...", and "how could this not be..." While also keeping those "long-shot assumptions", and hypothetical things, all in one location. Without excluding the other facts, which makes your rants seem like biased rants, not actual fact-finding, when you exclude the other facts.)

P.S. That is purely honest constructive criticism, not an attempt to get you to stop your research... Just asking that it be presented in a more digestible short form. (Without pink outlines Tongue)
453  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to put Mt. Gox into involuntary bankruptcy in Japan. on: March 01, 2014, 01:55:10 AM
Filing for "Bankruptcy Protection" and filing for "Bankruptcy" are not the same...

Gox filed for "Bankruptcy Protection", so that his assets will not be lost. This will allow him to operate, with frozen assets, once an actual investigation has occurred, to prove "theft claims". You can't just say "I am bankrupt", you have to actually prove it. I can tell you right now, that the numbers proposed are inaccurate, and not the way "asset value" is actually reported.

Those who deposited 10,000 BTC when the price was $10/BTC, have an asset-value of only $100,000 USD, not the value of $600/BTC at the current price it was lost. (Because they did not "realize" {cash-out} for that value.) That is one thing that is "off" in the estimates. They may also have to UNDO the last few trades, because the BTC was not there to trade, for the money that it was offered for. That will break a few hearts, and heal some others. If the BTC wasn't there, and you gave $12,000 buying it, YOU do not own those BTC, and that person does not own that currency. They lost the BTC, and you get back your currency.

In any event, this is still going to be a messy resolution. One which will not happen over-night, but one which will have a semi-agreeable resolution, because he didn't just run away. He stayed to protect us, and his investors.

There is also the issue of "what funds were stolen", "when they were stolen", and "when they stopped being stolen". In addition to the fact that some of those "may be recoverable/accountable", because they know WHO they went to, by accounts and by IP's, on some respect. However, this filing HAD to be done, to "freeze the assets", to make for a proper legal investigation, and to protect US and the INVESTORS. While still allowing him to operate, if it can be proven that the "issue has been resolved". Also if it can be proven that the income from trades, could potentially "cover losses", once the "losses are factually realized", which can only happen after an official investigation.

For all anyone knows, the coins could just be in another wallet, still in his possession. Which is what a full legal investigation and he, will have to prove otherwise.

That also allows him to "sell the assets", which would cover most losses, as part of the sale, thus, reducing the price he could sell the exchange for. (If it were to be consolidated, that would be to simply accept all loss, which would STILL have to be covered.)

We have to wait for the "call center" to open, to confirm our losses. Thieves will obviously not be calling. Thus, those will not be counted as part of the loss. That is good for us, because it gives us a better chance at getting back all of our funds.

Not to mention, there were funds available, after the theft had stopped. Those funds, after that date, will be 100% returned. Which an investigation still needs to show. We were not investors. We were customers. Investors are the ones who are at the greatest risk of loss here. Customers, will all have to be paid back, in some way. Even if this was truly just a "Bankruptcy", it does not absolve him from paying back losses. It simply acknowledges the loss, for further legal proceedings to occur.
