441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 05, 2024, 10:25:48 PM
Jorge Jesus could immediately train Brazil after his contract expires and is not extended, but looking at Al Hilal performance it seems impossible if they let go of Jorge Jesus because his contract is only for 1 season.
Especially if Al Hilal can actually win the SPL title this season then there is chance contract extension.
Brazil will experience several internal obstacles, looking for the right coach for their national team and this happened because Ancelotti had contract extension with Real Madrid.
Brazil must really be able to get decent and experienced coach, so that the Brazilian national team can have much better quality than before.
They have quite lot of great, talented players and it would be shame if they couldn't be trained by great and experienced coach.
The Brazilian national team abilities are actually above average and if they get the right coach there will be chance for them to play very well at the 2026 World Cup.

I've been reading some news and another hypothesis is that the CBF may go after Portuguese coach José Mourinho as their main target to take command of the Brazilian team.

Mourinho, who currently leads the Roma team with a contract that will end in June and which he does not intend to renew until that moment. The CBF is already aware of this situation and intends to advance in negotiations for his arrival. But just as happened with Lancelotti, so far no official proposal has been made by the Brazilian Federation, only consultations and expressions of interest.

Although it is difficult, I believe that they should maintain their commitment to looking for a foreign coach.... some friends of mine argue that they should choose a Brazilian coach, but among the "available" options, I don't see a future for Brazil if it is led by them .
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval results? on: January 05, 2024, 10:14:59 PM
A Polygon-based gambling site allows gamblers to gamble on the outcome of the spot Bitcoin ETF application by some investors. Gamblers are required to choose Yes” or “No” bets on whether the Bitcoin ETF applications will be approved or not. According to a report about $1.5 million worth of bets have been placed and bettors are patiently waiting for SEC's decision. From reports it seems that the majority of gamblers believe that the SEC will approve so the majority of them choose yes.

I know that there are diverse bets on unconventional events like Miss World, the US election and even wars. But this one is new and I just want to know if you will be comfortable betting on the spot Bitcoin ETF.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-etf-approval-results-gambling-reddit-community

I hadn't seen this type of bet yet, but I find them super interesting because the result of the vote can never be challenged, as the SEC would never overturn this decision.

I'm quite biased when betting, mainly due to the fact that my opinion is contrary to the majority (I vote NO), so if I'm right I would win a higher amount. I believe that the president of the SEC remains very suspicious of fraud in the cryptoactive ecosystem to be able to approve an instrument that should make institutional investors dive head first into a sector that moves billions of dollars.

But the main bet is on the Bitcoin buying/selling movement, because if it is not approved, the price of Bitcoin should plummet. The opposite should not happen, as I believe that the market has already priced the value of Bitcoin in anticipation of this SEC approval.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 05, 2024, 10:03:40 PM
I know for sure that if we take periodic account of how many times that we gamble, maybe weekly, monthly or yearly, we'll find out that the loses are far greater than the winnings, so I sometimes wonder how we can be indulging in something that we lose far more than we gain, in the name of having fun. I know that it's human nature to want to conquer, defeat, control and be the leader, yet we go into gambling knowing that the system doesn't give us a fair advantage of achieving these aims, yet we're happy to go back and likely be defeated again.

Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?

The fact that we are losing money should not be a problem for those who argue that they play just for fun.
Think of it this way....

When you go to a football stadium, when you go to watch a film at the cinema, or when you join a club and pay a certain amount each month to use the swimming pool, sports or golf courts, etc... you do not pay for that?

The fact of "spending" money on something that gives you pleasure is completely justifiable, and you should see gambling in the same way.... I spend money on gambling because I feel good when I'm playing.

The only thing that changes in gambling is that we have the "possibility" of getting back the money we spend, in some cases even more than we spent, but the main objective is not that but spending money to have fun.

The problem is when people spend a lot more money than they should to get that fun. Would you pay $1,000 to watch a movie at the cinema? I amnot. But there are those who spend to feel the adrenaline in a single bet. This is not fun

445  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Porque as pessoas deveriam usar endereços SegWit on: January 04, 2024, 01:41:43 AM

446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 04, 2024, 01:32:07 AM
Just a few months as Birmingham coach, Wayne Rooney was immediately fired from the coaching chair and this was not without reason because in 15 matches managing Birmingham he was only able to achieve 2 wins. That is a very bad record for a coach, even though I had hopes that Wayne Rooney would be able to bring Birmingham to promotion in the EPL next season. In fact, before he became Birmingham coach, this team was in 5th position in the standings, but unfortunately due to countless defeats, Birmingham now sits in 20th position and is closer to the relegation zone.

Birmingham's owner doesn't need to think long about sacking Wayne Rooney because if he continues the results will remain the same and it could even threaten Birmingham's fate in this season's championship competition. It seems that as a former football player or even a legend he was a great player but to become a coach would be a big failure in his career.

I completely agree, because when "former Manchester United star" Wayne Rooney was appointed as Birmingham's new manager in October and given the keys to a rising team that was already in a play-off position, the least they could do was What could have been expected from him was an attempt to gain access to the Premier League but instead, in less than three months he achieved this terrible result of 2 wins in 15 games, dismissal is the least Rooney deserved. They were in sixth place in the league table and now the team is in 20th place, just two places and six points above the relegation zone.... regrettable and shameful for Rooney's work.

Instead of fighting to be promoted to English football's elite, the Blues now face a fight to avoid falling into the third tier of English football, which would be a total disaster for NFL legend Tom Brady, who has become a minority owner. of the club in August 2023.

Anyway... there is still hope, let's see what the next steps will be.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 04, 2024, 01:24:22 AM
There are gamblers that have a bad plan or no plan at all about their life, they gamble with whatever amount they have rather than what they can afford to lose that won't be a worry to them if lost. There's this thought that am sure almost every gambler that have won a bet before must have had. which is the thought of "had I knew this game was going to win  I would have used bigger amount of money to wager".

That's why they say: Bet only what you are willing to lose and not how much you would like to win.
Gain is a likely consequence, loss is a concrete reality that will occur!
It can be distressing to see a victory and think that it could be 5x bigger if you had more courage, but the pain of losing 5x more money than you were saving to pay a bill is much more painful. That's why I always say that we should be happy with every victory, even if it's a shame, because if it's consistent, it's possible to reach 5x without taking big risks.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: January 04, 2024, 01:16:41 AM
Not possible for a gambling addict to quit slowly. If gambling is a problem, the best is to just quit. After he quits, he can start to gamble again after a year. If he sees that he is still gambling in a way he waste money on it, he can quite again. This is how I stopped my gambling addiction.

But if the gambler do not quit and not able to quit, he needs something like rehabilitation program or medical consultant.

It depends! I believe that it is possible to reduce addiction without completely stopping gaming, but to do so you need a few factors:

1. The person really needs to be aware of the problem and willing to change their life. If she doesn't admit that she is addicted or even admits it but believes that "everything is fine", then she won't be able to change.

2. It is necessary to have help from someone who will control access to the games, limiting the time they can play and also the money spent on the games. To do this, this person needs to be extremely trustworthy as they will need full access to the money in order to control it and also to the player's personal life to be able to limit their access to the game.

If the addicted player manages to improve, over time it is possible to give him more freedom and see if he can maintain control on his own.

451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2024 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: January 03, 2024, 02:37:32 AM
So, I remembered now...
In the Brasileirão we also have a women's league that is gaining a lot of prominence and praise, as the quality of their football is enough to impress many men.
In this sense, I am updating the OP with information about the women's championship, which will start on March 17th with the following teams:

  • América Mineiro
  • Atlético Mineiro
  • Avaí/Kindermann
  • Botafogo
  • Corinthians
  • Cruzeiro
  • Ferroviária
  • Flamengo
  • Fluminense
  • Grêmio
  • Internacional
  • Palmeiras
  • Real Brasília
  • Red Bull Bragantino
  • Santos
  • São Paulo
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: January 03, 2024, 02:27:11 AM
How about you as a Lotto bettor do you buy more tickets when the prize skyrocketed and how many more tickets are you adding

Yes!
Here in Brazil, this year we had the biggest prize in history in the country's main lottery. This certainly motivates many people to bet, and I was also one of them, as I bet much more than I should have, and I didn't win anything Tongue

However, here the main difference and motivator for betting is not so much the amount drawn, but rather because the last lottery of the year is special... the prize does not accumulate, that is, there must be a winner. This means that if no one wins with the 6 dozens drawn, then the prize goes to whoever got just five right.
Then the chances increase.

But this year, 5 people managed to get all 6 draws right and I only got 3 right in a "pool" (collective bet) of more than 2000 bets.

I'm very unlucky!
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: January 03, 2024, 02:20:52 AM
Gambling has been a part of our lives if you are an active gambler, and as this year is about to end, I would like to know your New Year's resolution.

Please share it with us here, and please don't make your new years resolution like you will not gamble again, that's against the rule of a gambler.

Also, I like to greet you all, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I don't have many ambitions for 2024 when it comes to gambling.... in 2023 I was quite cautious with my bets without exaggeration and I hope to continue like this this year.

What I would like, in fact, is a collective desire... for countries to invest more of the money they raise in campaigns against gambling addiction and also in inspections of illegal casinos that illegally exploit players, there is a lot of service to be done about this. Even advertisements need to be better controlled, as there are many young people and children being negatively influenced and too prematurely to start playing.

Os termos da campanha são claros: "Burst posting isn't allowed (spread your posting between the weekdays)".

456  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [0,001 BTC] Qual será o preço do Bitcoin no final de 2023? on: December 31, 2023, 02:40:52 AM

458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: December 31, 2023, 02:25:36 AM
I just wish to see people view about single bet and accumulated bet. Which one do you till can be profitable when it comes to gambling. Although I normally do the two but in most cases I prefer accumulated bet to single bet.

One of the main advantages of single bets is simplicity. You only need to focus on a single outcome, which can be less confusing and easier to manage than multiple bets on a single ticket. As much as simple bets are ideal for beginners who are just starting to get acquainted with sports betting, I really like them because they take me much less time.
I like to simply choose my favorites, place a bet and then come back to check whether I won or not without worrying about what will happen next.

Naturally, the greater the number of bets on the same ticket, the risks increase, right? Therefore, multiple/accumulated bets cannot be the basis of a bettor's activities... however, for those who want a profit (which is certainly not my case, I play for fun only) accumulator bets should not be left aside. side when you want to amplify your gains.

Red Bull has decided to push Perez to the end of the contract, he will be racing until 2026 apparently, or at least that is the decision they have taken this season, don't know if they will continue to do that next season as well, but for 2024 he stays.

It is bot ha great news but also a terrible news for Daniel Ricciardo as well, because it's terrible since he will not be going to Red Bull and going there would have been better for him, and yet it also means that he will not be on Max's shadow, and he doesn't have pressure on him and he got used to his car at AT for a while, so he could do very well this season. The fact is, if he does better than his teammate, he will be fine there, he is getting older anyway, so it would be fine to have a few more decent seasons, that's it.

This 2023 season saw an unexpected return in Daniel Ricciardo.... after he left McLaren at the end of 2022, the Australian seemed destined to spend the year as a reserve, but gained an opportunity at AlphaTauri after the team replaced Nyck de Vries on account of the poor results in the first half of the championship.

The problem is that Sergio Pérez's poor performance at Red Bull, the most powerful team in the group, meant that Ricciardo's name was also speculated about a possible promotion for 2024 or even 2025, even though the Mexican is still under contract and honestly I believed that this would happen, I still don't understand why they actually decided to go with Perez.

Anyway, this must be an "ultimatum" for Sergio Pérez and I hope Ricciardo doesn't lose hope of racing for Red Bull again.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: December 31, 2023, 02:15:15 AM
I do not like thread that are long already. I prefer threads that is not more than 1 page long. I went through a long thread this time, some people are quoting me on the thread about who loses more to gambling and I read some replies only to find out that most people are saying rich people are likely to make money than poor people in gambling.

The probability is the same for those who bet a lot or a little, but there is a very important variant that favors rich people: bonuses for playing.
It is undeniable that casinos value loyal players who spend a lot of money on their sites, which is why they distribute more bonuses for plays... the more time and more money you spend, the more bonuses you receive and this certainly increases your chances of winning. a good victory.

But disregarding that, the odds of you winning are the same with $10 or $1000.
