NXT is currently actually working on speeding up its speed and improving its scalability since Ethereum is also in this phase (kicking around scalability options for when it eventually develops a solution like BitShares which is currently the smartchain to beat with 3 second blocks and VISA level scalability). You should have been invested into 2.0 technologies in 2014 and 2015. Now we need a 3.0 technology that uses PoS, smart contracts and also has decentralized storage and content delivery. Synereo is the closest thing to a 3.0 tech but they're so over valued. Not much profits to be had with them. Profits seem to be drying up all around as bigger investors are getting involved. It removes the ability to become a millionaire with $1,000. Now the millionaires try to double their money and they're happy. The small people aren't so happy. |

There seems to be some good progress going on for future development. I'm most excited about Ethereum 2.0 since Ethereum 1.0 doesn't scale... I had to pay 5 cents just to transfer my ETH to an exchange to sell them.
A block explorer and homestead MIST clone is cool and a great idea but Ethereum 2.0 PoS is where I see the biggest potential.
Regular users won't have enough ETH to stake so they will be flowing into SHF if SHF is the first PoS Ethereum based coin. I heard rumor you will need 1500 ETH to participate as a PoS node. If SHF has a limit of like 50 SHF we could easily build a way bigger community than ETH.

It should be noted that no one has lost money. You traded for SHF. Once SHF goes to all time highs you will happy. You can't always win. This isn't a magic thing where you put in money and you get money out.

They're working towards a PoS mined coin. This required ETH to mine so only those with ETH can mine. You could call that centralization. ETH will be fairly decentralized. Of course there will be a new coin that comes out and gets better decentralization but ETH will be pretty good.
There will be 1000s of coins that reach a billion $ marketcap with tons of users. This is where the true decentralization comes in, when there are 1000s of different coins distributed through the world.
