441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports that you don’t watch but you keep placing bets on: February 29, 2024, 11:07:51 AM
Do you have a sports that you keep betting on even though you don’t watch this sports live or you don’t know the full specifications of this game?
If you stake like 2 or 3 matches and they are playing the matches at the same time, what will you do? Generally I stake matches than I watch matches. What that is most important is to analyse the matches before staking it.

In my case, I keep betting on tennis whenever I have spare money on my casino balance from my VIP rewards(Rakeback) after my long game session on live games. I’m not really a fan of sports betting in general but I do place bet randomly on tennis especially the Asian Handicap on live match. I’m always betting on the underdog that already has 1 set advantage to the favorite players. I do this bet just for fun no string attached.
I also like tennis. It is better than football betting to me. Although very risky as well.

I believe this is the literal definition of “gamble what you can afford to lose”.  Grin
This is what that is most important in gambling.

Even for in-play matches, the stats are enough to stake bets.
442  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about futures on: February 29, 2024, 07:01:16 AM
Your issue will be however the funding rate. Currently it’s expensive to long bitcoin on futures or perps. You are going to lose a lot of money paying the funding alone with the 3x leverage. And if the bull market continues then the fees might get worse and worse.
I also wanted to talk about the funding rate but I thought it is not necessary, but the rate has gone higher. I saw it for bitcoin at 0.0753 on the exchange I looked at it now. The funding rate increased recently because of the increase in bitcoin price but once the market is less volatile, the funding rate will soon return back to 0.02% as usual. This will not take more than 3 days. But generally speaking I will also advice of holding on noncustodial wallet instead.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: February 29, 2024, 06:51:10 AM
I see the future of gambling to be very interesting, especially when gamblers can meet their friends online like what meta proposed. They will meet online but it will look real like they are in reality. One of the reasons we say land based gambling is more entertaining is because of the social interaction. But virtual reality can make social interactions possible just like it was proposed by meta by meeting yours friends online, play and gamble together on a gambling site without even seeing each other physically.
444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about futures on: February 28, 2024, 08:08:39 PM
I have a question... do you think it's a good idea to invest BTC in futures now? With 3x leverage so as not to run as much liquidation risk?
If bitcoin is at $60000 and you long it with 3x, the liquidation would be around $40000. If you can take the risk, you can go for it.

Or do you think it's better to put my €100 in a wallet and wait?
The exchange that you use for the future trading can be hacked
I do not think bitcoin can go below $40000 again but anything is possible
You may think to increase the leverage which might lead to money loss, that is future trading.
445  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The Bitmex exchange is a scam. on: February 28, 2024, 03:37:40 PM
Bitmex closed my account, won't let me withdraw money. Even though I've emailed them many times, they just say, we can't provide information. He stole 1.68 btc. If there was any fraud or I didn't follow the rules, they should make it clear.
I have been using this exchange for sometime now, I do not think they are bad exchange. Did you email the exchange customer support? What do they say that caused them to block your account?

The reason I just do not like the exchange is because that it has few coins and not supporting many chains.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you & friends thought of engaging on any unfamiliar activity for gambling on: February 28, 2024, 08:33:35 AM
Has gambling been set illegal in your place and due to how much you and friends love to gamble, you would just think of a unique activity that you can play even in the public and people would never suspect it that there is stake placed in the game?
Gambling is legal in my country and in the town that I am. In countries that gambling is not legal, there are hidden places that gamblers are gambling. Also there are still ways that gamblers go online to gamble. But I do not know how they do that because gambling is legal in my country with both local and foreign gambling sites that are available.

This thought came to me after remembering some of the pasts that the cards, cheers, dice and the rest of the skill-based games has ruined people in the street on the cost of gambling.
The authorities took it upon themselves going after the gamblers to put the situation of the ruined lives to an end.
Some people will want to have fun with gambling but your government do not let people of your country to have freedom that some people will want. Some people will be gambling in your country and that is just it. While some people will prefer to use foreign gambling sites.

So I and some friends creatively brought about drawing a circle ⭕ and agrees that whoever throws stone and gets into the circle without touching its line is the winner of the game.
So only us (friends knows what we are doing and that there is a stake in the gaming).
I can not have the fun to gamble with friends because I will not want to gamble with them like this. I prefer we should be together and gamble on a gambling site. But if your friends agree to that, it is not a bad idea. But avoid making it big in a way that other people will not be coming.
447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHO DOES CRYPTO DAY TRADING? on: February 28, 2024, 07:02:15 AM
Trading is risky. I am telling you that to be very careful. As you can make profit, it can be losses instead. Many people do not have good history of trading.

What I have learned in trading is to trade good coins and do not leverage. Just go 1x. But if you are getting better, you will know the right leverage that you should be using. Do not use high leverage.

Trade with small amount of money.
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: crypto on: February 28, 2024, 06:57:32 AM
If you can wait till 2025, you will have more ROI. Do not sell your coins. We are still going to all-time-high and also six digits. At least $100000 would be gotten to in this bull run and that is almost twice the price of this bitcoin present price. It would be good for you to wait and not sell.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You See Losing Your Weekly Payment to The Casino on: February 27, 2024, 10:58:49 PM
How do you see losing your payment to the casino?
I will not be happy with it because it is a good sum of money in my country. I collect it and I do not use it to gamble. I use it for important things in my life. If I lose the money, I will not feel good at all.

Do you think that I already have a bad gambling mindset thinking that by engaging in one or two bets or games I am supporting the project I promote? [/b]
It is you that needs to ask yourself a question. Can you afford to lose the weekly payment to gambling in a way it will not affect you financially and it will not disturb your progress in life? If otherwise, you have a bad mindset for gambling.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 27, 2024, 10:25:56 PM
You can add these two:

When you win little, do not gamble on that day again. But some gamblers will feel like they should continue to gamble and they will lose at the end of the day.

When you are addicted. Quit gambling for a long time.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: February 27, 2024, 09:56:59 PM
Like you all know, I was an addict before. One thing made me stop was when I started to think that gambling is not a way of making money. Instead of me making money, I was losing. I borrowed money to gamble several times. I hardly have money in my bank account at the time. I have not known about cryptocurrencies around the time. When I know that I can not make money from gambling, I stopped after it took much from me. I stopped gambling for a year. If an addict can also realize that, he will stop the addiction by not gambling for a long time just like I did. But an addicted person will always still talk that they see a means of making money from gambling.
452  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2024-02-02] Expert Peter Brandt Foresees Bitcoin’s Ascent to $200,000 by 2025 on: February 27, 2024, 11:55:59 AM
I am predicting $170000 but that is not that far to $200000. Bitcoin is getting close to $69000 which is the all-time-high even before halving. We do not know if that would be possible, I meant for bitcoin to get above $69000 before halving. Definitely the bull run has started. We would get to six digits this time before we enter 2026. Bitcoin is an asset that its value is increasing and if someone is predicting $200000, we do not know the future but from the past we can say it is possible.
453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Arbitrage Trading (Market Inefficiencies) on: February 27, 2024, 11:05:35 AM
Arbitrage trading is for people who can code and have their own trading bots too.
I will not completely agree to this, but people that can code will find it easy to make tools for themselves for arbitrage trading. If you can get a good developers, he can create one for you. Also that you can have some exchanges and noticed price differences in some coins and use the opportunity for arbitraging. I have like 7 exchanges, even with two exchanges, I do notice price differences with some coins on the two exchanges.
454  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Arbitrage Trading (Market Inefficiencies) on: February 27, 2024, 10:15:41 AM
Is there like a free scanner/tool to find such opportunities?
The best that you can do is to have the exchanges and check the price differences of the coins and tokens. If you go to TradingView, Coingecko or Coinmarketcap, there are places you will see the price of coins of each exchanges but I do not know how accurate this is but I think TradingView would be good. You can create a bot that can help you to list the exchange price of coins. I am not an arbitrage trader, let us see if someone will post about this.

Also does living in a different time zone affect you spotting or being notified of these opportunities? Usually in what time zones at what times is the crypto market is boring sideways? I am from the UK. I ask because arbitrage trading in a bull market doesn't make sense right?
There is nothing time Zoe has to do with this.

Lastly lets say you buy on 1 exchange and send those coins to another exchange to sell at a higher price. Wont there be a risk that during this transfer that the transfer takes a longer time and is slow and in that time the price could go against you? Isn't it a race against time, arbitrage trading in a sideways or bear market?
It is trading. Trading is risky. So be expecting something like this. I heard that arbitrary trading is not that risky also that you should go for the coins that has fast transaction speeds. But know that no matter how less risky it is, trading is generally risky.

Dex has high trading fees right so arbitrage trading on Dex is not ideal?
Go for the ones with cheaper fee like BSC, Solana, Polygon and some others. You can not do arbitrary with ERC20 because of the high fee. You can also use layer 2 like Optimism.
455  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should AI replace VAR? on: February 27, 2024, 06:39:55 AM
Something like this have been discussed before Will AI Take over the Position of VAR?

More like, the AI can auto dictate whatever foul or error that was commited by a player and just gives a final verdict that's obviously going to be unbais
This should not be the reason AI should replace VAR, but VAR can make use of AI to make there decision more accurate. You can read what some people posted on the thread that I provided the link to know about their opinion on this.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 26, 2024, 04:02:12 PM
This is the beginning of addiction. Or you are not gambling with too much money? I guess that you are gambling  with more money because as you are unable to control your gambling activities and unable to restrict yourself not to gamble, this will make you to be spending more than necessary on gambling. Also that even if you are not wasting a lot of money on gambling, as long as gambling is taking more than the time you want, it is still an addiction.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Unusual Story that Reflects the Current Gambling Addiction Reality on: February 26, 2024, 11:51:04 AM
In this group a person shared a story of how a married reached out to her for medical assistance to support his wife terminal illness treatment. Instead of providing his wife's account details as requested, he offered his own. Concerned that the funds might be misused, particularly for gambling, the person offering assistance insisted on the wife's account details. However, the conversation ended there, with no further response from the man.
Is the man a gambler? I think this is not about gambling if we so not know if the man is a gambler or not. You know how people can think, in a selfish way. I also always prefer to send money to the person that is in need of money, but if someone ask for help because of his wife, I think I can give it to that person that ask for help. But if the person is a gambling addict, I will prefer to send the money to his wife account. Some people prefer to send the money to the victim account just because he want the victim to know the actual amount that he sent because her husband can tell her a wrong amount. So it is a good idea.
458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 26, 2024, 10:08:59 AM
My question is, isn't trading almost like gambling considering it uncertainty and also looking from the fact that he has lost a fortune out of trading within a short space of time?
Trading is not gambling but the risks are almost the same. They are very risky. Most traders are losing. So we can say trading is like gambling.

Some people are good and have strategies to make money than losing. Trading is not the same as gambling for people like that. But generally speaking, trading is like gambling.

Is it possible for him to easily recover his money back or is losses like that very much a part of the trading experience?
A trader should not think about recovering from losses because it is not good to think about losses as it can lead to more losses. He should consider ways to make money and not having losses or a way that the profit will be more than the losses as he continues to trade.

If he continues to trade and not making money from it, he should quit.
459  Economy / Economics / Re: USA and cbdc and Donald Trump on: February 26, 2024, 07:45:48 AM
The btc are ready the stablecoins are ready the old fiat system is done and the smart money old money trump friends are allready in crypto and they are not in Cbdc -s they are in btc and stablecoins.
CBDC has not been created in the United States. What is the meaning of they are not into CBDC when CBDC is not existing in a nation?

If I am from United States, I will not buy stable coins. I will prefer to just buy dollar instead because I trust dollar than those fiat that are pegged to dollar price. Instead of buying the peg (which can depeg), I will prefer to buy the actual fiat.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: February 25, 2024, 02:18:44 PM
Do you have the same situation like this in your country where gambling operators are not getting the same treatment?
No. People know how risky the gambling is.

People should know that as they are gambling, they can lose money as they are looking for money. It is also good to know that the gambling operator are most likely to win while the gamblers are losing. So why are people should despise what they already know the outcome. The higher the odd the harder to win are the games. So people that cannot risk their money should not gamble or they should gamble with the money they can afford to lose.
