441  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Countdown to shipping all units - 15th October on: October 14, 2013, 06:23:18 PM
I got the impression they simply changed the status to keep us calm
I am not totally sure when the status updated on my order but it was clearly between 6 to 7 days ago and still no information given
For me it will end in another not making back the money i paid for, what makes it all more sad is that they answered in a previous mail that the miner should we shipped before 15 october.
Its evening in europe and shipments are not being made at this time not anywhere, unless it was shipped to the service before 18:00 hours
After this time the arrived packages go into the distribution proces so they broke another promise they made.
But it would have been nice if i had seen a apology or any updated info, or any news for that matter.
Even though its not an BFL drama yet, we still are left in the dark and sadly are loosing hard needed mining days to get ROI
I am already sad that i did not cancel the order because for a freaking saturn you get now a jupiter for the same price

after 3 days running with 3 cpu's no blocks recevied at all
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin fast blake-256 Alt Coin for CPU/GPU/FPGA on: October 11, 2013, 12:26:58 PM
Something is wrong the program closed by itself for no reason
I restarted the program and again poof closed
No messages or errors given just instant gone

have you updated?

Remember to update your wallets before block 3500 as I have fixed some bugs added more checkpoints and tweaked the up step to reduce large jumps upwards  Cool

also you can find the debug.log in same directory as Blakecoin.conf scroll to end and it often gives the errors

edit:
block 3500 and new rule in effect waiting for retargets over next few hours

AddPortMapping(16996, 16996, xxx.notofanyonesbusiness.net) failed with code 403 ((null))
Flushed 1576 addresses to peers.dat  8ms

Looks like the program do want make its own port mapping on my firewall which ofcourse is not allowed

Well you can catch a block even if the diff is 100 trillion but the change to get it became ultra low
On quark when the diff became over 2 all people went berserk on the forum
Only a few persons running a asic miner or using several gpu's with his cpu's can do this easily

Hell if my kncminer comes in i can put a fat 220 Gh at it
If its usefull .... not really but that won't stop them clearly.
The costs of running a cpu for a new coin and not even getting 1 block after so many hours is a darn expenssive hobby
both the amd and the intel machines did not find any blocks at all in 18 hours running

Still the client hangs often as well, it seems to stay at a certain block found and does not continue to update.
I have to stop the client manually and restart before if updates several hours of blocks
Looks like there is a flaw in the client preventing it from updating.
I shall have another go with the deamon and see if that works, but if i do not get minimal a few block before tommorow i stop trying
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 10, 2013, 11:51:49 AM
If you let it cool a bit and not switch it on/off fast as i never do.
When i switch of this kinda devices i let them rest for say 15 to 30 seconds before turning them on again
Then their should not be any problems, at least that was allways told by the engineers from all big firms i used to work with.
448  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Switching off my GPUs, tears in my eyes on: October 10, 2013, 11:44:19 AM
Well XFX is another name of the company which own also Sapphire
The sapphire is probably the better one of those 2

However i have mixed results with them, even though many complain about them.
Some say these are bad but i had pretty good cards from them and only 1 out of 30 went defect
These often where minor defect like fan braking but most was improper usage of the owners,
Like breaking the case by those taking the cards home secretly for gaming in the weekends.

Over a year time we had pretty darn low fallout of these brands, but again i saw less problems with the sapphires

I have had loads of cards used in the workstations doing all kinda different tasks, most of them been pretty battered and abused.
The company owned at that time in total 2850 pc/workstations containing about around 3500 cards, almost all where dual cpu heavy workstations containing 3 or 4 gpu cards each.

At first many had nvidia and later i threw most of the nvidia's out where ever i could.
Though some programs sadly still needed nvidia for operation.
But i had to switch many of them, so the local chefs had to decide themselfs what brand and models they wanted to buy (budget).
Those who choose powercolor, club3d, gigabyte, asus and alike cards had much more problems and fallout. The figures did not lie, all other brands then xfx or sapphire failed more often.
And clearly had much bigger problems so we had todo alot of rma's on the other brands.

Let me be honest with the prices dropping on any of these cards which probably are not cheap to make i fear in the last years they cut on quality of the cards to still make profits
Nvidia at certain moment completely stopped making certain models because they where loosing money building them.

Do not forget those who make/grow/catch products are often not the ones making good profits. The resellers/markets are often the ones making the massive profits
Small example shrimps caught by fishers are bought by a reseller for $0.30 per kg
The reseller package those in crates, or peel or and whatever they do (often not very much). Then they are offered to shops and suddenly these cost $2.25 per 100 grams, then the store puts in their own 100% and poof in the shop you find 100 grams for $5.50

I think either someone has found a real miner on gpu or some people was extreme lucky
But with 3 strong cpu i mined all night and did not get any blocks at all
The difficulty being so high means many gpu miners put massive power in the coin or try to mine with asics, if i am right they will not find any coins but for cpu mining a diff over 4 is extreme high

In my client it shows 2950 coins created so i wonder what is going wrong

I restarted the client and it updated on itself thats not good either because it have a solid connection to the net but when i reconnected it rushed towards block 3100

Someone is finding these 150 blocks but its not me Sad
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin fast blake-256 Alt Coin for CPU/GPU/FPGA on: October 10, 2013, 01:58:12 AM
Glad to be of help

The screen bug has never been fixed i think it was related to the HyperThreading pooler had once made the program look for cores but then it only found REAL cores and not fakes like HT
The amd however does have real cores which ofcourse is the blame for the higher power usage, the fact that these slow down is the shared cpu caches for 2 cores. The idea of sharing cache per 2 cores did not have such high impact as amd was hoping for in the real world. Its still a damn fast cpu anyway with good programming at certain programs it beats intel cpu's big time.

If i remember well the last i send you in pm was the one released all the specialized versions
However i am not sure if they also make such a huge difference on blc as they do at quark
But on quark it was impressive

Hope its helpfull Cheesy

BTW people with the AMD APU cpu's like the A8/A10 your using probably also your internal gpu and i almost 99,9% certain its only using power for do 0,0 blocks finding because blc has not yet an opencl solution.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin fast blake-256 Alt Coin for CPU/GPU/FPGA on: October 10, 2013, 12:49:15 AM
LoL its so funny when people are fooling themselfs with a screen bug as being faster mining Cheesy
On the new model Amd FX processor you get faster speeds with lesser cores enabled, my 8320 is a 8 core but i run it with -t 4 thats giving me the best results

The last minerd made is the one which have for each processor a different miner, they where released for litecoin and quark dated : 16 aug 2013
Versions released where : avx, avx2 barcelona(k10), generic, sse2, sse3, sse4 and one for the last fx versions called BD "for bulldozer".
However these versions do not have the "Blakecoin" option so i do not think they would work well
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 10:00:04 AM
I guess for me its again a loosing money like bfl, i see day 2 miners not even delivered and the difficulty keeps jumping upwards
The miner costed a small fortune and will never pay back what it costed again.
Income from pools has dropped so low thats almost scary, getting allready the 1 billion shares blocks more often then not
And security from bitcoin payements is next to absolute zero

This again proofs the whole bitcoin industry is for normal people a absolute no go

457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.1 New Design! Auto check pointing! on: September 27, 2013, 05:18:44 PM
That freaking warning checkpoint is too old, annoys me enormous especially since 7 addresses are connected
How the hell can it not find a checkpoint ?!
458  Economy / Auctions / Re: 4 x 5 Gh jala + 20 am usb erupters black on: September 26, 2013, 03:29:35 PM
One jala is returning back to the usa.

Currently 1 is reserved and awaiting payement for it.

So leaving 2 others which are currently on the biddings

Since a few bidders pulled back or do not respond as i aks them to pay up

I do remind the buyers you pay the postage i loose too much allready on the bfl deal

I do however want to finish the sales as soon as possible

It has taken a while allready

Remember that people are buying am blades doing 10 Gh at 84 w
These do +7.5 Gh minimal at near 40 watts depending on i see them hovering more near the 8 to 8.5
The people who call this brand new miners expenssive , its a cmplete joke since many here pay easy 4 btc for the blades
