441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: September 29, 2019, 06:14:58 PM
so Barcelona should pay attention to the defense area and I think it will help them to return UCL trophy to their ShowCase. They need to do well in away matches too.

If talking about returning the UCL trophy to Barcelona, it seems less convincing for this season. You are right, their defense must be rethought and unfortunately their defense is not heeded or they are always convinced, CB is now able to deal with defense problems. Actually this is a fact, that Barcelona are always strong in the front line and inversely proportional to their back line.

It is too soon to say anything. Even in 2018-19 season, Barcelona had rough start in defence with Umtiti getting injured and Lenglet getting red card in his first game. Pique was making huge mistakes and cost 4 points to Barcelona. But as season progressed, defensive duties turned better and Barcelona had pretty fine last season except Liverpool disappointment.
Similarly, I feel defensive crisis will soon get over this season too. In one or two months, Umtiti will be ready. Also, rumours are out there that Barcelona is planning to sign Rugani in winter window. So they will have quite number of choices in defence by the start of next year when important matches will be played.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Curious Case of Bullrun on: September 29, 2019, 05:25:35 PM
I am curious and i need answers, the last bitcoin halving happened in 2016 and a year later bitcoin bullrun follows, in that year many believes that ICO HYPE was responsible for the bullrun and others belief it did a big a part so my question now is what do you guys think will drive the next bullrun season?

Prediction in crypto market is actually unworthy, crypto market is totally unpredictable.
You listed down two reasons which you think were behind last run (most probably you pointing the bullrun of late 2017) but can you really trace them on price chart? I don't think 2016 halving created any instant uprise in Bitcoin price so that reason is completely ruled out. ICO Hype, maybe it contributed to Bitcoin price rise a bit but it wasn't surely the main reason because hardly 5% ICOs receive contributions in Bitcoin, rest of them are more inclined towards Ethereum and other alts. So in short, we can say it is not possible to determine single reason that push prices, there has to be number of reasons and when combination of them create a bullish trend, then only price start rising which is then turn to bullrun when more and more investors start jumping due to FOMO.
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Dropping - Are You Scared? on: September 29, 2019, 04:29:35 PM
I'm not scared, I'm sure this is part of the crypto-currrency cycle. Even if I don't have investment in bitcoin now, I'm sure the price will hit high again soon. If I have money now I would buy some bitcoin for sure.

Well, natural market movement is considered to be around 5-10% plus/minus but in last 3 days drop is around 20% which isn't natural to be honest. The most prominent reason links to the expiry of high number of options on Bakkt. However, I agree with you later words, price will recover again soon. This drop is just temporary and we may see $15K again by Christmas.
444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: YoBit Signature Campaign (Bitcointalk) on: September 29, 2019, 03:47:04 PM
I guess Yobit should have gone through the "needs approval" route instead of paying people until they get banned. It shouldn't be a major issue tho.

Yeah, that would also decrease the workload for yahoo. I think they should add a script where users need to get approved by yahoo before they can start earning satoshis. Should not be a huge problem to do that. Or, they could go the traditional way with a spreadsheet and stuff like that. Easier to track participants and increase transparency. More importantly, the funds should be escrowed. Their last campaign didn't end well and IIRC some of the participants didn't get paid.

Do you really think YoBit concern about the quality of campaign, all they want is trouble-free campaign on Bitcointalk until their funds allotted to campaign is exhausted. Hiring Yahoo solved this problem for them and they gained little reputation to run campaign without getting any hammer from Theymos. Though, I still think current scenario is quite ok because Yahoo is doing commendable job to cut-out spammers at maximum.
445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be careful of Bitcoins giveaways that are too good to be true on: September 29, 2019, 02:31:19 PM
~

Are you new in crypto space? This bitcoin doubler scam is one of the oldest and most famous scam in crypto space. They usually pay people for first few days and then when they reach break-even and made enough profit, they close the site and run away with people's money. Never fall for them, no matter they are registered or even run by President of USA.
It only takes 2 to 3 days then it will run  Grin. This kind of scheme is very popular in social media like facebook, until now there still ponzi scheme  promoting there. I remember i also fell for this kind of schene way back 2017 before i learn trading.

Haha, right! Nowadays even 2-3 days are long for these scamming sites. In my early days, I also used to fall for them. Actually my problem was I didn't know what Bitcoin is back then. So I used to buy Bitcoin from my Paypal account assuming it is some kind of investment tokens that can only be used to invest in these doubling sites and then invest Bitcoins in those sites. I lost around 0.02 BTC before realizing that Bitcoin is actually much more than that, lol.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: September 29, 2019, 12:25:20 PM
As someone who recently lost in one day several times more than what I could afford to lose, I urge you, guys, don't play poker when you are unstable

And it is not just about poker

As it refers to anything where the outcome (largely) depends on the quality of your decisions. That is kind of obvious, but sometimes you have to make a decision under pressure, for example, if you are running out of time and have to make up your mind anyway. And you may not leave, i.e. refrain from making any decision, as that would spell complete failure. The point is, you have to deal with your emotions somehow even if they are overwhelming you

Well it's easier said then done. The problem with gambling is that you don't know the stopping point. Let's talk a hypothetical example: You won one bet, you won another. Now you have 3x the amount you had initially. You decided to continue, you lost one, you continued, you won next. By this time, you are completely into game and decided to make you money 5x at least. But you lost all three of your next bets and ended with zero money.
Something similar happens to me everytime I decided to try casino. It's not like I don't win, I do win almost half of the bets but I hardly remember if I ever withdrew my winnings. Every time, every single time, I end up losing all money in the end.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why its hard to attract investors on: September 29, 2019, 09:48:49 AM
Before investors are everywhere in crypto currency specially mid 2017 but everything change
Ico's started to boom in the internet, you can choose a lot
of ico that you like, but then started to change , there are ico that are scam, running with investors money in a snap, lending platforms also can be seen, the same happens they suddenly disappear
we have already have a very good market if there are no scammers
they change everything, now investors are so hesitant whenever there is a new coin that are good but they opted out because they think its a scam, I think we should find a way to lessen or better eliminate them for good.

There are still investors, angels, VCs out there is crypto space, nothing has changed. But the problem is with the number of projects getting launched everyday. It has become too easy to launch ICOs in 2019. A started pack includes $100 tokens on ETH chain, $20 whitepaper from some freelancers, $30-40 for designing and website, $0 for bounties. So you can launch ICO for just under $200. Hence, so many amteurs have entered the space with no vision. Just compare the average whitepaper of everyday ICO with whitepaper written by Vitalik Buterin in 2016, you will understand why investors hesitate to invest in these so-called visionary projects.
448  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION IN THE UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES on: September 29, 2019, 08:49:08 AM
The world economy keeps crashing with many incidence of inflation. What is happening at the moment is  a clear indication of a world that has failed the minority. Although the underdeveloped countries could partly be blamed for the high inflation that exists in their respective economies. Would things turn around for good  if underdeveloped countries start to add value to their natural resources themselves without selling to the countries with good economy?

It is easy to say on paper but not possible to apply in practical. Underdeveloped countries like African and Asian countries are rich with natural resources and can do wonders if they get good value for their products. But they fall prey to the first-tier countries and their manipulative practices. First-tier countries especially European Union countries and USA have manipulated WTO to come to the arrangement where there is almost negligible import/export duty on raw materials but levy high duties on finished goods. So first-tier nations buy cheap raw materials from underdeveloped countries but sell them finished goods at inflated pricing. This leads to further depreciation in the value of fiat currencies of undervalued countries. Also they lack machineries and resources to consume natural resources in their own countries.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Initial Offerings Overpriced? on: September 29, 2019, 07:34:55 AM
You need to understand that cryptocurrencies are just like other market securities. These too don't have any intrinsic value. Cryptocurrency's value is determined by the reputation and operation of project underlying such coin. Better the project, better the value of coin. Another factor that determines value of coin is public believe in coin. So you can't say ICO are over-priced, it all depends upon how good the coin is. If people take high interest then it's under-priced and vice-versa.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: September 29, 2019, 05:17:24 AM
I really liked this thread @OP, I think this is genuine concern. Altcoins are truely the backbone of crypto industry. You can't expect everything from Bitcoin. It is first cryptocurrency but surely not the best one in terms of specification. Other cryptocurrencies like ETH, Tron, LISK, EOS provide comparatively much better blockchain to create DApps. And we surely don't want new altcoins stop coming. This market is still new and there is much more scope of improvement.
451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be careful of Bitcoins giveaways that are too good to be true on: September 28, 2019, 07:51:25 PM
Hi, recently I went to a website https://www.crypto-way .ltd (I add a space in ltd so that you won't click on this accidentally.  It offers 2X of the amount of money you send in.   I find it too suspicious and did a check on the domain name.  It was only registered a few days ago.   The British company they are suppose to be does not exist and they are hosting in a russian hosting company, making it impossible for me to contact them to feedback to them.  If anyone can speak Russian and do the feedback, that would be great as it keeps another scum away from our Bitcoin environment.

Are you new in crypto space? This bitcoin doubler scam is one of the oldest and most famous scam in crypto space. 452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dead? on: September 28, 2019, 07:05:39 PM
ICOs are still alive, but only units are successful. Mostly, these are serious projects that are difficult to get into due to strict conditions and restrictions.

LoL, that's the most vague statement I read today! So you think there are projects out there which are making it difficult for investors to make investment because they think they are superior than other ICOs. Oh god, don't write anything for the sake of money. Be reasonable at least!
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 28, 2019, 06:42:14 PM

It's very unlikely Barca will still concede a goal here...
90+ minutes and Barca is playing well so we can safely say that the match is not going to have both team to score. Good to see full 3 points for Barcelona (hoping).

Edit: It's official Barca won by 2 - 0 and have full three points.

Good to see Barcelona finally keeping a clean sheet, clinching 3 points and winning away game all together in one game. It wasn't the best performance from them to be honest but what really mattered was that they kept the composure throughout the game. Pique was awesome in defending so was Firpo. Lenglet did make a silly mistake and got red trust but luckily it didn't cost Barca much. But what should I say about the duo of Frenkie and Arthur. How good both of them are, Xavi-Iniesta 2.0.
Quick fact: Arthur has got the highest SofaScore ratings among all Barca players in every of his last 5 matches he played for Barcelona.
454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin cross 3K USD this year? on: September 28, 2019, 06:13:54 PM
This is what we would call a bull trap... get the last weak hands to lose faith...

Probably just another shake up and get rid of those weak hands.

It seems to bear market. Should I hold BTC now?

Why $3,000 though? Why not $1,000 so that we can purchase more and fill our bags? Are you one of those weaker hands that we've describing? If you don't have faith or at least very nervous about the current price then why not just hold on your Bitcoin and then let this bearish cycle pass by? Opps, I spoke to soon, Bitcoin somewhat recovered to $8200 now.

You don't expect something to fall by 90% and still believe it will recover. It took around 8 months for Bitcoin to recover from 65% fall in 2018, imagine how many months will it take to recover 90% fall. So if you think it's ok for Bitcoin to fall to $1000 then it isn't really. If anything of such sort happens then Bitcoin will get the status of non-serious gambling investment than a competitive high-yielding investment status it has now.
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC bearish sentiment breaks 2018 levels & folks start calling the bottom on: September 28, 2019, 05:47:33 PM
Pah. The people in this market are so pathetic and skittish that give it a $200 move upwards and it'll be back to '100k by Christmas' again.

After all this time I still find it pitiful how easily spooked or stoked people are.

Maybe, but this was quite a drop. The weekly candle declined 23% from top to bottom. That's nothing to sneeze at.

I'd say the change in sentiment is notable. People were acting like another bull run was in the bag, riding Bakkt hype and talking about the halving next year. Now I'm seeing people say "$10K is impossible" and "we're in a new bear market now" etc.

Bull runs are built on pessimism and disbelief. Not everyone is bearish yet but we're getting there. Smiley

I would still say there isn't much to panic about. It is still above $8000 and let's not forget the fact that it remains below $7K for most of the time in 2018. If it can recover 65% contraction of 2017-18 then this one is just a soft hit in the belly.
As we all know crypto market mainly rides on news and FOMOs and the events you mention especially halving next year are surely gonna create buzz again. I don't see any radical changes in speculative articles online. Most of them still stressing the idea that Bitcoin will cross the mark of $20K again next year.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stick to the same option or switch to another option? on: September 28, 2019, 05:26:23 PM
Is crypto included in the ponzi scheme to get rich quickly?
in most cases I have observed why people rush to get short profits, this is not a good way. I mean the decisions they make are not based on common sense.

This is not what you think, if you think that crypto can become rich overnight, you don't need to bother avoiding investment risks. You only need to focus on crypto investments that you think can make you rich.

but unfortunately the market says it's different, there is no way to get quick profits & all you have to do is how you can survive in this market. between a fixed choice with the same option or switch with another option.

Well you can't generalize the trading strategy for everyone. Everyone invest according to his own wisdom. If someone thinks he can make quick profits through day-trading or arbitrage then what's wrong with that.
Same goes with options too. Some investors love to stick with limited choices and invest in such coins for long term while some investors love to explore and switch between coins to earn margin. We can't say which strategy is good or bad, as far as one is making profits, such strategy is fine.
457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: time to change BTC to ETH? on: September 28, 2019, 05:07:57 PM
ETH is now in an extremely low position. How good is the idea to buy it now?

I don't know why you have a title like that,
Quote
time to change BTC to ETH?
you never convert your Bitcoin to Eth or your Ethereum to Bitcoin, there's no logic on that, this is the top two coins in the market, any changes in the market will show the impact on these two coins because this is two most-watched coins in the market.
I always tell my friends to always have these two coins as their main portfolio how the these two coins perform will always have an impact in the market.

True! Both btc and eth are co-related in terms of market behavior. Except any strong market indicators, both btc and eth generally moves in same directions. When one is bullish, other is bullish too and vice-versa. So there is no point shifting between these two really.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promote bounties for how good the projects are and not for reward on: September 28, 2019, 04:16:08 PM
If there would be no reward I doubt that anyone would promote the projects for free.
I have been promoting 5 or 6 projects in my signature so far, and majority died out and had million problems so now their tokens are worthless.
It is very hard if not impossible to know which project will succeed even if it is not scam in the first place.

Time when bounties actually used to work is over. Now bounties only create spam. Twitter Campaigns were used to be very popular back in 2015-2017 due to their high conversions for ICO projects. But as the number of participants grew over time, quality of accounts have started becoming dull and dull. With all those mass follows and follow-back, I doubt any ICO project actually reaches the target audience at all nowadays.
Same goes with signature campaigns too. All good posters usually lurk for Bitcoin paying campaigns. Hence, either low-quality posters or alts are left for bounties. As a result, they are unable to produce results for ICO on forum too.
So its wrong to blame projects alone for unsuccess. The blame should go two-ways. When people can't sensibly promote projects, why should they expect projects to be successful at all!
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Online Casino has the Most Fun Games? Recommendations? on: September 28, 2019, 04:05:10 PM

You summed that perfectly. Gambling is matter a of chance not skill. But to make something enjoyable, it has to include skill part. You can't just stake money on dice or play card game for fun alone. There is actually no fun element when seeing oneself losing against the house.
Sports Betting is more appropriate option in this circumstances. It involves set of skills and not completely wagering event. I would say it is 40-60 for skill-chance. There are sites out there where one can create his/her own team and compete against other real human win real money the same time. Much more fun, isn't it!

Even games with no skill element can be fun, people enjoy the anticipation.

No doubt in that! The addiction gambling provides is incomparable. But there is a difference between thrill and fun.
Casino Gambling provides the feeling of thrill rather than fun. You can't say I am feeling bored, let's roll the dice or play slots. There is more of monetary motives involved in gambling than leisure motives. Well, these are my personal thoughts about standard games like dice, slots, roulette. If any casino have some exciting games, I would love to try them too.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Choose Lottery Instead Of Anything Else? on: September 28, 2019, 03:01:00 PM
The simplest reason I can think of is that lottery requires small amount of bet yet high return, it even simple to play. The small bet is the more people would play the game simply because anyone can afforf it and others only plays the amount they can afford to lose. However, you really need a huge amount of luck just for you to win.

Whats the purpose and use of small bet when you cannot gain anything from it. Apart from the few exceptional cases, i never seen anyone wining a lottery. It is like that you invest something in which you know there are only 1% chances of wining. If you are a part time gambler, only then you can choose to try your luck with lottery otherwise you should avoid it.

So from your logic, there is also no good in taking insurance policy. Only 0.2-0.25% people actually claim insurance money, rest of the premium goes unused. But still taking insurance policy provides safety against unforeseen circumstances.
Similarly, lottery can also turn someone future without denting wallet much. Imagine buying $1 lottery ticket and winning $100K! I won't regred spending such $1 even though winning probability is just 0.001%.
