461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 12, 2023, 05:13:53 PM
If someone wins, he might also think about stopping gambling. Take a big hit, win a lot of money and then quit. But if you lose, different thoughts can come through a player. They may want to stop, but others want to continue gambling in order to regain lost losses. That rarely goes well, of course. Quitting gambling is a good intention in itself, but often little comes of it. And if players then stop gambling, it will be for a fairly short period of time and after a while they will still gamble again, often with much larger amounts. We can all do the consequences and outcome.

Difficult Feyenoord victory, but who cares? Won is won. Ajax and Twente have now also started their matches and both play a home match against a team that is weak on paper. Those should be easy wins too. By the way, PSV won very easily against Groningen yesterday and at the end of the match there was a score of 6-0 on the scoreboard. Those are big numbers. There are basically 5 title candidates, who will be the first to drop out? I would also like to see Twente and AZ finish in first place, but they are qualitatively below Ajax. But maybe even above Feyenoord.

Ansu Fati is certainly a good player, but is perhaps overestimated at its current market value here and there. He is also still very young and is not yet physically great. You cannot compare him to players like Mbappe or Haaland who are of a completely different level. Perhaps he has been dismissed as too great a talent lately. We have also seen a lot of big promises over the years that couldn't all be fulfilled afterwards, I hope Ansu Fati will choose a better path for his career. There are also a number of trainers available now, perhaps an idea for Liverpool to take on a new assistant coach for the time being?

I'm already looking forward to the mutual meeting between Barcelona and Real Madrid. It seems a bit of an upside down world compared to last season, when Real Madrid had made a big gap with Barcelona. But there are still a lot of games to play before we get to this stage in the competition. Celta de Vigo - Atletico Madrid is currently underway and it is still 0-0. Atletico has been scoring very difficult lately, but they have collected some points lately. It is a pity that this team has sunk so far, even for players like Griezmann it must be extremely frustrating that that team has deteriorated so far. Still became champion a few seasons ago.

The last 10 years have not been very exciting for the championship. In his good years, Borussia Dortmund was a formidable competitor of Bayern Munich, who often fought great duels. But Bayern has always had a bigger name and has also made a lot more name internationally. Dortmund still has every chance to finish in the top 3 this season. Bayern may remain volatile in the coming period, but I think the competition will be even more volatile and therefore also drop more points in the coming games. Should be an easy title for Bayern. There is still hope for Schalke.

It seems to be a solid and businesslike victory for United's team. But beautiful football is apparently no longer a priority. It is important to collect as many points as possible in this phase of the competition. Apparently Man City will also be deducted a lot of points as a result of the fraud with the figures? In that case, Arsenal would actually already be champions in principle. Only United then remains somewhat close. I do not think that they will let Man City relegate to the 2nd division.

PSV played hard today in the home game against gronigen, one of the worst teams in the Eredivisie this season. And Fortuna Sittard has also had an excellent season so far. Since a Turkish trainer came to power there, things have only gone very well. And the arrival of Burak Yilmaz will certainly have contributed to that, I think. Emmen still need not panic. How will Ajax and Feyenoord do tomorrow? Both teams also have important games next week in European tournaments, so the question is how the players will be deployed in this match. Things seem to have only gotten better with Ajax since Schreuder left there. I think he can forget his coaching career.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: February 10, 2023, 07:59:26 PM
If you want to make money betting on chess, I would definitely go for the draw option. Many games end in a draw. You have to see who is playing then. If Magnus Carlsen is behind the chessboard then I would watch out because he goes for the win every game. There are a number of players who often draw draws, for example you used to have Giri who drew extremely often. And in the last rounds of a tournament you often have the chance of a quick draw so that players can pack their bags and rest. But I wouldn't bet on speed chess games. There are far fewer draws.

I somehow disagree with your statement as it depends on several factors.

First, you have to consider the time/game format of the tournament. If it involves a classical match between the players, then expect draws to happen given the nature of it- more players have time to calculate and the pressure is relatively low. But, if the game is either rapid or bullet, then drawing the game is most likely off the table as there will be a player that will most likely blunder at the end.

Second, you must also consider the players that will participate. Like you mentioned, Giri has that reputation of drawing such games but if you watched closely, he actually won the recent 2023 Tata Steel Championship. So I guess, him drawing the games are not possible anymore.

Lastly, you must also consider the overall tournament that will happen. If it is a big tournament where top GMs will participate, then expect outrage and chaos on the board.

The average results are that a game between 2 GMs has a high chance of ending in a draw. You can also check this with the bookmakers. But that only applies to regular parties. I think it is one of the few sports where you get such a low amount for a draw with a bet. The question is what Carlsen will do next with a view to his world title. He has indicated that he would only like to play another match against Firouzja, but maybe he should reconsider that statement after suffering some hard defeats in the tournament at Wijk aan Zee, where Giri proved really solid and Carlsen suffered a dip had 2 rounds.

We have been able to speculate for a long time about the upcoming matches in the CL. I can't remember that there has ever been so much time between the last game of the group and the Knock Out phase in the CL. It is a pity that Mbappe will not play along, that is a big difference. Germany at the World Cup also mainly consisted of players from Bayern Munich and were already eliminated in the group stage?! Individually, PSG is in better shape, and PSG now also has a great coach, perhaps the best coach PSG has had in recent years due to the results. They won't care much that they were eliminated in the French Cup by Marseille. After all, they have already won that cup more than enough times. It's just about winning the CL.
470  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: February 10, 2023, 07:48:31 PM
Depends on what kind of bets you play and how serious you are about gambling. Knowing that you do not have access to a desktop at an external location. In that case you will have to play with a phone on the site. There are also many people who place bets from a PC and only use the phone to check the standings and scores of a particular match. And some players don't mind the size of a phone screen at all and do everything on their phone. The phones nowadays are also more affordable in prices and the screen size is also much better than a few years ago. The old generation will probably prefer to use only a desktop.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 10, 2023, 07:45:23 PM
You can very often not recognize in a gambling addict that they are addicted to gambling. If someone doesn't get out much or is less heard from, that doesn't mean they have an addiction right? And often compulsive gamblers themselves do not want to admit that they are dealing with an addiction. That should be the first step towards a process to get rid of it. And finally, you can't force an addict to stop. That is perhaps the biggest problem. People must of their own free will recognize the addiction and deal with it.

Arsenal has actually remained constant all season, but against Everton we saw the first cracks of this team. Maybe it was incidental? After all, everyone loses a game once in a season. Luck for Arsenal was that City also lost, so in that respect they lost few points. But the championship is still a long way off for the Gunners. I don't really see United as a title candidate anymore. They also leave unnecessarily many points here and there against lesser opponents. If you want to participate in the championship, you just have to win your matches against lesser opponents.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 10, 2023, 07:41:35 PM
Schalke04 really needs the points. They have come a little closer to the winter break, but Schalke is a team that does not easily score more goals. Every win is extremely important for this team, which has had high peaks (in the CL, for example, won away at Real Madrid a few years ago) but also deep troughs with being relegated from the Bundesliga a few seasons ago. At the moment the game is still 0-0 but we are only 10 minutes into the game at the moment. At Bayern Munich - Bochum, the score could be quite high this weekend.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 10, 2023, 07:38:36 PM
At the moment, Barcelona is considerably stronger than Villareal, which is not having a very good period. A few years ago they almost knocked Liverpool out in the CL. But this team is too dependent on individual qualities of certain players, and Barcelona has much more quality in the field than Villareal. The title fight can be decided prematurely if Barcelona continues to win the next games and if Real Madrid continues to lose points. The 6th place for Villareal at the moment is neither good nor bad. It's kind of in between I think.

The penalty that Red Bull has imposed can have a considerable influence on the coming season. According to the team boss, this will save a lot of seconds because they are allowed to drive much less time in certain test tunnels. What I do wonder is why the World Championship title is not taken away and given to Hamilton? The regulations have clearly been violated, you have to see it as an athlete who has used doping, then a medal is also withdrawn with retroactive effect. We've seen that happen before with the OS. But Red Bull has only had a fine and also a light test penalty. They got away with that quite easily to be honest.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 07, 2023, 08:59:36 PM
Juventus on their way to a very simple victory. 0-3 ahead and just started the 2nd half. But that will not interest them all at Juventus after that points deduction as a penalty. It's a lost season at the moment because of that 15 point deduction. It would be great if they could still finish in the top 5. No less than 3 teams are relegated from the competition, so Sampdoria has to rise not 1 but even 2 places to avoid relegation. Or will that work? The differences are small so why not. I expected a little more from AC Milan this season, especially after last season's championship. And they've been able to keep most of their roster together. I might have expected Giroud to go to a real top club. He is also France's all-time top scorer.

Liverpool - Real Madrid may be in the shadow of the PSG - Munich match. But it will also have everything to do with the fact that both teams are not doing their best at the moment. Real Madrid has a slightly lesser period after the winter break, but at Liverpool it has not been good since the start of the competition and extremely disappointing. I don't expect any special things from Liverpool in this match either, I wanted to say that I think Real Madrid should go through quite easily, but they also have a Benzema who is not in shape and last season it was already shown in this tournament that Benzema in shape is needed to bring success to Real Madrid.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 05, 2023, 06:30:18 PM
Few goals today in the Spanish league. All games played only had 1 goal in the whole game and at the moment Real Sociedad - Real Valladolid is also 0-0, I don't expect too many goals there either. Barcelona also has trouble scoring but keeps it close at the back. And Barcelona also plays its match in Barcelona, so Sevilla would actually have little chance there. The visitors probably come to keep things closed as long as possible and then hope for a draw. I also don't think Sevilla is capable of playing offensive football. Barcelona has a lot of creative players and a lot of speed up front. But still apparently a good defense, although the names in defense are much less appealing than a few years ago. But it was time for renewal.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 05, 2023, 06:01:52 PM
There are many different casinos nowadays. Still, I suspect that there are about the same games per casino. And the number of games is not in the tens but in the hundreds or maybe thousands nowadays. And then you also have a difference whether you want to play a normal casino or maybe a live casino? If you really look at the casino purely in terms of content, then I think it would be nice to have acceptable limits. Whether a casino pays out quickly also seems nice to me, but in principle that is separate from the question.

Wolfsburg - Bayern Munich has become a fairly goal-rich game with a current score of 1-3 after almost 65 minutes of football. Actually, this match was already played after 20 minutes, as Bayern Munich was already leading by no less than 0-3. A pleasant game for Bayern, and also good for self-confidence with a view to the game against PSG next week. Not winning the last 3 games must have done something for the confidence with this team. Wolfsburg is not a bad team, but also not a top team. Bayern Munich usually wins very easily from that. Bayern is currently playing with 10 men, but I don't believe that is enough for Wolfsburg to get back into the game. And so Bayern takes over the lead again from Union Berlin, which will play against Ajax in the EL next week.
