461  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [TELEGRAM] Bot de Notificações e Tópicos do Fórum on: December 30, 2023, 01:54:03 AM

Muitas perguntas complicadas Undecided
463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 30, 2023, 01:25:33 AM
Happy Christmas to all gamblers. I have been reading some threads and comments that many people have been saying that they find it very difficult to stop gambling (not only gambling addicts), but on one hand, I really think that it is not hard to quit gambling even when you are winning and not winning, but it is you who can't control yourself. Bets can not force one to stake, but a gambler can force themselves to stake a bet, even when he or she does not have money to bet. Some gamblers did not learn how to gamble. They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
What do we have to say about this?

I believe that one of the biggest causes is idleness!
The person who is not yet addicted and is aware that the odds of winning in gambling games are not in their favor, generally continue playing because they have nothing else to do, or even there is, but online games are the way to entertainment that is more accessible.
You see... the number of gambling addicts skyrocketed during the pandemic, which was exactly the time when people spent more time at home, with nothing to do and easy access to the internet and electronic games.

Certainly the expansion of advertising "helped" with this, but the main problem is the ease of access to gambling. It takes a lot of self-control not to open a casino site whenever you have free time.

That's my opinion, but I could be wrong.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: December 30, 2023, 01:19:30 AM
Every story you tell someone can either be a motivation or something to get them depressed. I have been thinking about this and I'd like to pass this advice to every serious gambler in this platform who has won a substantial amount of money from gambling, not to share their success story about winning to everyone and in every place. You do not know the story of every gambler, and on the face some gamblers may just look alright but in deep down they are in debt, some depressed due to addiction to gambling that is destroying them and has made them plan to quit. Your success story when shared indiscriminately may trigger and motivate this addicted gambler battling to stop to want to keep gambling, having the believe that their time is close. Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.

I agree!
Positive results in a game of chance are generally the result of one or two of the following reasons: Luck and Professionalism.

About luck, we are talking about something that happens rarely, we hardly see anyone getting rich in gambling games just with luck because it needs to occur several times at a strategic moment so that you can multiply your winnings a few times exponentially.

Regarding competence, we are talking about that player who knows what he is doing, who only bets on what he knows, who studies games a lot (mainly sports or cards) and has mastery over the subject.

Both scenarios are for few people, most simply don't fit these criteria and that's why most of them lose.
Unfortunately, these factors are not explained by people when they say they made a lot of money, they say it as if it were actually something simple that anyone can do, but no!
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: December 30, 2023, 01:13:30 AM
I always hear stories of friends who always lose playing online gambling. I don't know what his purpose to tell his story to me. even it's clear, his story makes him look stupid.

Besides that, in another place, Many young people around to me still play slot gambling even don't have a job and always lose. I wonder where they get the money for deposits? and why they repeat that?. I don't know what the reason reason that doesn't bother them, they should have given up, and changed the game that makes them profitable. if I always lose in the game, I will change the type of game, example If I always lose on a slot, I will change the type of game like sports betting until my capital is back and try the luck again to the slot.

Betting gives us the positive feeling of doing something good for the future. We create the expectation of changing our lives with the hope of making a lot of money.
Even though it is much more likely to lose than to win, we are driven by hope, and we always create the expectation that one day luck will come. Even though we lose, we all intend to wake up every day with some kind of confidence that the next day will be better, right? The big question is: we are driven by optimism and this makes us bet. The emotional always takes precedence over rationality.

Your friends are not betting because they lose a lot of money, they are betting because of the possibility of one day winning a lot of money to compensate for their losses and still make a profit.

The question is: Will they stop playing once they achieve this? I doubt it!

468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How should Lotteries be categorized? on: December 29, 2023, 12:28:25 AM
Title speaks for itself. I know that Lotteries are a form of gambling since at the end of the day, you're banking on your luck to bag the win and earn huge amounts of money, but compared to our conventional knowledges of how gambling works, Lotteries are quite different, a few of them:

~snip~

With all these factors laid in front of you, would you still think that lotteries are supposed to be linked with standard gambling systems, or should we set them to a different system/standard from here on out? Answers please.

For me it's all the same thing, because my reasoning is:
If I'm playing with the intention of (in addition to having fun) making a lot of money, then it's gambling!
The differences are limited to the betting possibilities, as in lotteries you basically choose some numbers and hope that they are drawn. But in casinos you can choose between cards, dice, an electronic game, etc... the ways to bet are very wide. The same occurs in sports betting where the possibilities and modalities are practically infinite.

Why are lotteries allowed in almost all countries while other games are not? Because it is easier to control and supervise games based solely on choosing numbers.
It is easier to detect fraud in a lottery than in an electronic game.
But in the end... everything is gambling!
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 29, 2023, 12:20:08 AM
Almost every gamblers notably those that make use of online Casino's for their gambling have the notion that except from a license owned casino they don't use any  casino without a license, which I think is a cautious thing to do.

But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.

Theoretically, a casino license is a legal document that allows a gambling establishment to operate in a specific jurisdiction. The license ensures that the casino complies with the regulations set by the licensing authority and provides a fair and safe gaming environment for players.

But in practice, a casino license guarantees very little protection to the player, as it all depends on how regulated casinos are supervised and also on what actions regulatory agencies or governments take when they receive a complaint.

Obviously it is always preferable to bet at a licensed casino, but players cannot believe in the illusion that this solves all trust issues between casino and users.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Was You Biggest Win in 2023? on: December 29, 2023, 12:15:03 AM
What's up ladies and gentlemen...

2023 will soon come to a wrap and doubt, it's been an awesome year for some of us, while I also understand it might as well been a bad year for some persons, but I am glad that finally, the year is coming to an end and we get the opportunity to try again and make 2024 a year we get to celebrate things, accomplishments and achievements we failed to celebrate this year.

So, the question is simple, in your gambling activities all through 2023, how much your biggest win?

And in loses as well, how much was your biggest loss?

Is it possible for you to calculate your cumulative wins and losses, and tell if 2023 was profitable or not; to you in terms of gambling?

Lets discuss..

My bets are always of "moderate" value, so I have never had significant losses or gains.
If I'm not mistaken, the best I've ever achieved was winning almost $200 in bets placed in a single night with less than $50 wagered on a series of sports combinations.

I don't aim for more profits for 2024, as long as there continue to be plenty of betting options on my favorite sports and championships, then I'll be happy.

For those who had terrible results in 2023, I hope that next year you will have more profits (or fewer losses).
471  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Fork do bitcointalk: altcoinstalks.com on: December 27, 2023, 12:14:00 AM

Exemplo
Bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478398.0
Altcointalks: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=313382.0
Bitcoingarden: https://bitcoingarden.org/forum/index.php?topic=124142.0

Wink

472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2024 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: December 27, 2023, 12:06:25 AM
It's the first time Santos will play in the Brazilian B series  Cheesy
So we need to look on the bright side of history... Santos will finally have the chance to win an unprecedented title: First place in the second division of the Brazilian championship.

Speaking of Internacional... I read today that the promise for 2024 is to focus 100% on the Brasileirão so that maybe we can break the 45-year fast without winning that title.
The promise is to carry out a very aggressive campaign with an investment of up to 9 million euros in acquiring players in all sectors of the team and providing the coach with several options.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should security be employed in local bet shop? on: December 26, 2023, 11:59:46 PM
For those persons who prefer gambling in local bet shops instead of gambling online. I know that most times some persons carry huge sums of money to come to gamble and I understand that if it was a local casino there would be securities. Now, in the local bet shop, why are there no securities? I know a local bet shop close to where I reside. There are no securities there and there are people who act strange and mentally unstable there. They could cause fights, noise, and cheat. So for other persons to feel safe betting there I think securities should be employed there.

In fact, I believe that local bookmakers are much more concerned about protecting their own money than protecting their customers. Generally, security cameras or any guards are only there to serve the establishment itself.

In any case, no person should go to or leave a physical casino with cash, nowadays it is much easier and safer to use credit cards or bank transfers.
I think that nowadays those who still use cash generally do so with the intention of laundering money, but if someone "normal" needs to do the same, I at least advise you not to go to these places alone... take a couple of friends big guys as bodyguards Tongue
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2023, 11:53:39 PM
De Zerbi will go to Manchester City, next year or in the next 2 years.

Guardiola already "announced" him.

De Zerbi would certainly love to follow in Guardiola's footsteps at City, as the Catalan's work with Barcelona was what convinced him to venture into the world of coaching when he was winding down his career as a midfielder.

While De Zerbi was finishing his career with Avellino and then Cluj in Romania, Guardiola was managing Barcelona where he won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues, playing with an irresistible style never seen before.
De Zerbi himself has already admitted that when he started as a coach he was inspired by Guardiola.

But, I believe that what exists between the two is just mutual respect, and I actually can't imagine De Zerbi managing City.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In The Span Of six months what will make you trust a new casino on: December 26, 2023, 11:44:41 PM
If a new casino launches an announcement here in Bitcointalk what are the requirements or criteria that will make you trust them?
Within six months after they launched their announcement here

Certainly reputation is the most important thing.
Even a casino with several years of presence here on the bitcointalk forum but with a bad reputation will not have my trust.
The absence of serious complaints or always refuting complaints with concrete evidence or consistent reasons is the main reason for me to trust a betting site. Although, in the case of a new casino (the OP said 6 months) then it is expected that there will not even be a serious complaint involving money that has gone up, account banning or withdrawal problems.

Obviously, the constant presence of a representative here on the forum is also very important, mainly to resolve any problems and also to answer bettors' questions.
476  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: 2FA adicionado ao forum on: December 23, 2023, 10:57:15 PM

477  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [VOTAÇÃO ABERTA] Concurso de natal Bitcoin Talk on: December 23, 2023, 10:51:03 PM

479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 23, 2023, 10:33:40 PM
I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

Later he open up to have been using $500 for gambling per day, he said all these started when his wife left him, that he isn't into gambling at all, but I can't ask why his wife left him in the first place, but does loneliness make people become addicted to gambling or it's something else.

Yes!
Loneliness can lead a person to fall into a world of addictions, often including alcohol, gambling, pornography and smoking.

In the case of addictions to online games, this is entirely possible because the practicality and agility provided by the web cause some users to become isolated from the real world, leading them to seek refuge in digital and electronic media from everyday problems.

You didn't comment on this person's age, but teenagers and young people are the profile most susceptible to the ease and vices of the internet.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one did you use to gamble with more on: December 23, 2023, 10:24:34 PM
I prefer staking before matches start when I started to gamble as a newbie. I later prefer virtual matches. I left both to staking on live matches which is what I gamble with most on bookies now.

This is just for fun. Let us post and have fun to know which one that most people on this forum that are posting on this gambling board like most.

Betting live is pure adrenaline, the complicated thing about this type of bet is that the bettor cannot forget that in this case he will always have to make decisions very quickly based on what is happening and it is easy to make wrong decisions when you are influenced by adrenaline and the hormones that predominate in your body do not allow you to reason sensibly.

When choosing to bet live, people have the false feeling that they are more secure about their bets, but in reality the game changes very quickly, an unforeseen and momentary move is not always a sign that a certain team is better, the Pre-game analysis should always remain and that is why I advise investing in simple bets for anyone who chooses this type of betting modality.

I'm not good at online betting.... I prefer to analyze the teams calmly before the game and place my bet regardless of what happens during the game.
