new intensecoind seems to be causing more hdd load on sync than other coins. adding 20 blocks at the speeds others typically add 100 blocks. Anyone experienced the same?
blocks are added 20 at a time since the first v4 block, because transactions (and thus blocks) are bigger 'cause of of mandatory minimum mixins and RingCT. |

When was the last time anything from sp_ produced this kind of an improvement FOR FREE?
When I did opensource work i pushed the most profitable algos at the time like quark +50% faster. for FREE. I have done my opensource part for the community. Time to move on and let the cuda students take over. 4-5 years ago mining was done by the few in their garage and basements. Today you have bigger farms, bigger coins, and more money invested in equipment. Improving the money maker for free doesn't make sense anymore. This is your opinion. A lot of people are working on free miners and other tools. I have just released the fastest free x16r opensource fork @ github. What have you done the past few years? I heard that you have been working, but I haven't seen anything new for a long time yet. Why don't you share some tricks. Perhaps the cuda students can learn some and beat us. he-he I'm glad you started releasing opensource again. I didn't expect it, thanks! Most of my work is on coins, recently: intense coin, cryptonite, but I also do some miners. |

While writing this, it gave me an idea: @pallas: do you think it'd be possible for a wallet to sync ONLY blocks that contain my own transactions? So I could get at least a complete tx history for my own wallet? I think that'd be a nice feature to have  I'm thinking about a switch in the wallet options to enable this. I like the idea, but I can see at least one problem: to know which blocks you need to download, you'd need to download them all, then keep only the information you need. It is a bit against the original mini blockchain concept of not needing to keep all the past blocks. But, we've seen that there is at least a use case for full blockchain: the block explorer :-) Ah, so how does my wallet know about old transactions then without having the full blockchain? I mean, somehow the wallet at least knows that there have been transactions to me in the past: Now it shows my ammount of coins but in transactions - all are gray and with red flag telling "Unknown". Is it ok? So can't we derive the block ids from that source to then download those blocks only? I know that the proof-chain only contains the headers which consist of just the hashes of the previous block and the root of the account tree, isn't that so? So I wonder how does the wallet know about my old transactions without downloading the full chain? It doesn't know the contents but it seems to know when they were. This is what I mean:  I've just re-started syncing from scratch and right after opening my wallet, it knew about all my past transactions. It must be possible to salvage the block ids from that? the transaction info you see is in wallet.dat, not sure what's in there but if there are block ids, then we could indeed try your solution :-) |

It's strange. Finally my wallet became synced (it took 4-5 hours to sync 4000-5000 blocks)
So I wanted to experiment and deleted whole blockchain. After that wallet synced from scratch in 5-10 minutes. Very strange.
Now it shows my ammount of coins but in transactions - all are gray and with red flag telling "Unknown". Is it ok?
It's like this strange I know, but it looks like there is burden with re-sync after downloading blockchain. it takes more time because it downloads more full blocks. |

This altcoin has a very bright future, many coins on many fields are being created with new initiatives. But remember, before investing your money in cryptocurrency, you must be ready first mentally because investment in cryptocurrency a lot of risk. So, you have to be ready also if finally, you have to experience loss.yes, it's interesting. but I am curious about what other HODLERs do. I have a wide portfolio and I am struggling to keep up to date with all these coins. I think I need to concentrate on fewer coins. Any advice?

If you are making a new wallet, use db61. If you want to keep using an old wallet, created with an old release, you may need db48 for compatibility. |

Is it possible to make wallet sync faster? I have a speed of around or even less than 1tx/second. I run it one a week to catch up with the chain but even so - it takes several hours to sync. Actually no other wallets are as slow as this one. Even Smartcash finally improved the speed and now it is not fast but mediocre.

I have been with intense for quite sometime now. Followed every move they make and development they are going. Intense is not a scam coin. Project is very solid and roadmap is feasible. I tell you that before this 2nd quarter ends. You'll see big updates from the devs.
It maybe so. But what I see - everything that is connected with pallas has some problems. His XCN was hacked with 260 millions of coins, no normal exchange - only chineese/thai shady ones and no willingness to get to normal exchange or at least that stocks one. And this is after 4 years of "development"?  Here with Intense also "hackers hackers" everywhere. Everything connected to pallas? Did you even do your research? Or you stopped at XCN? Pallas has been involved in countless projects, been one of the best miner developers since i joined crypto 3 years ago... Him and wolf0 ( which you most likely never heard of ) where the go to miner software developers back then. Pallas been in multiple projects and his work speaks for himself Im not accusing pallas. I think he is good person. But it seems that he is like ..... a magnet for hackers. Maybe its because of long history and some/many enemies, that try to harm his projects. Probably the projects are good and some people are envious. |

You scare all the miners. Zero the balance on the pool. With the blockchain, fu***ng chaos is created. Write about some attacks, but most likely just could not normally copy the code of the monero.
It is not just a copy of monero because we have our own customisations and features. Besides, most cryptonote coins have been attacked as well. About the 179xxx chain, it's the old V3 one and you can ignore it, as those blocks do not get accepted by the latest wallet. |

I recovered the coin from a likely death and fixed holes and bugs. Also the exchanges were already there, the ones which I added are nova and freiexchange. I don't see anything shady with this. About intense, I think I'm a bit smarter than hacking the coin I work on and then fixing it a handful of hours afterwards, on Sunday morning, disabling all the hacked funds. |
