My opinion is that if you want the coin to get more popular...sure a giveaway would be nice, but the best bet would be an easy to deal with exchange, like cryptopia, nova or bittrex, and eventually see the coin on whattomine calculator
We are on nova already, bittrex and poloniex are in limbo (bittrex since forever, poloniex new coin submission some days ago). We are already on whattomine as well.

Good idea. Everybody, please post features for the poll list with a short explanation why you think that feature would be necessary for the perfect XCN-based coin. The poll will allow 3 votes per user. The 3 winning features will then be examined closer by us all and we can talk about how to implement them. I will collect the feature proposals and update this list. Possible features collection for new coin: - Mini-Blockchain (not votable, assumed decided)
- ZCash-like privacy
- PoS instead of PoW
- xmr with privacy (please provide further information)
- dcr type pos (please provide further information)
I think we should start with generic topics like: - POS (or POS/POW) - private transactions - TOR or I2P Then we could move to more technical discussion.

We need some promotion for the coin. I need to ask you guys two things.
First is what do you think is better: a twitter giveaway, a facebook giveaway, something that is not a giveaway (please suggest)? The last we did was a twitter giveaway and it worked pretty well.
Second is the fund is running low, currently 47315 XCN only. I'm not sure it's enough for a decent giveaway and for sure it's not enough for the bounties that are left, considering we will be adding more in the near future. Please donate, even small amounts are good: CP6uhgcDnXzdgQhnz2q1xhSFMFinmqkQkh
Thanks!

And poof goes the profitability from btc38 as well. I'm sorry, but they seem extremely incompetent. Shouldn't be this hard to get a wallet running.
I think they just are not even trying... yet. They fixed it in the past so I'm sure they will again, it's just a matter of time.

it seen this is dead coin
Seems not to be dead... the blockchain is sane, getting several connections, no problem syncing, and it is still being mined. I agree, but there is no currency exchange yet, the coin should be traded. I wonder if bushstar is still involved in this project. Deepcoin needs to move forward. Why not trying yobit, novaexchange or cryptopia?

Not on my todo list
your cpuminer can do it, i find it strange that you can not implement it here too It's a boring task. Any volunteers?

My wallet just stopped working. I was solo mining and the wallet suddenly closed itself, then I try to open it but the process kills itself after it starts loading. I tried both cryptonite-qt and cryptonited. This is the log file: https://i.imgur.com/M2BBtCU.png and this is how cryptinited output looks just 1 second before it closes itself(after sync point is written on the screen): https://i.imgur.com/R8PpinG.pngI have about 80k xcn on my wallet, and I have backup wallet.dat with about 75k xcn but I hope it's nothing serious and that I didn't lose my money. Why is this happening? How to fix it? Probably the block database got corrupted. No problem, just use the snapshot in the first post.

Btc38 say: "There is a BUG in the wallet, maintenance..."
Don't know what they mean, wallet forked flawlessly for weeks, all wallet functionality works too at full volume.
Nevermind, support doesn't know what's going on the technical side.

No successful pow to pos coins? Diamond for example. And there are many pos coins in the first page of coinmarketcap. Don't shit over things that don't go your way just because of that.

My wallet has been running flawlessly for long now. Any of you ever had a crash, after upgrading to the newest wallet? I'm still wondering if there is some work left to do in that regard.

Hey sp_, there is new open-source miner for NXS that doesnt use CPU with 8 GPUs running. And, 1080ti speed is 240 MH/s and it is much faster than your last miner version (190MH/s) And, there is no need to overclock GPUs and run at crazy intensities like you recommend to do, it works faster and much stable.
AND... It finds a blocks like it should. (which is not likely for your NXS miners)
Cheers!
Link please

New blockchain snapshot: https://mega.nz/#!5EIglJRD!9iijrPglB6s_ahw6SCqxv9xmSv_rx8wivD6CTPOlLUg I've moved to bi-weekly update (from weekly), because full blocks download is not a problem any longer (it's much faster with the new wallet).

In search for new coins to mine I found this one. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ulatech/I had a quick look at the sourcecode, and it seems to be using murmur hash as the POW. From wikipedia: Unlike cryptographic hash functions, it is not specifically designed to be difficult to reverse by an adversary, making it unsuitable for cryptographic purposes.
no, it uses sha256.

It is not possible to solo mine digibyte because of the change in bitcoin core i think , the method for rpc is not working. Only nanashi version is running but it is slow, is there any chance to implement this ?
Do you mean that nanashi ccminer has full support for getblocktemplate?

Looks like btc38 is down for english speaking people (at least).
That's because their Facebook authentication is down and doesn't necessarily mean they're upgrading anything. Since you have a contact there, you should let them know that it's down because they might not know. Look at the chinese pages, they have a new layout. They surely know but I'll write to them nonetheless.
