Cryptonite doesn't have a company behind it. It's community driven. So, instead of complaining, why don't you do the support in Thai? You do speak English and you could relay here the questions you can't answer yourself.

Recently i tried to solo mine few new coming coins..... But not succeded....
Perhaps the new coins based on new forks of bitcoin.... does not have solo mining enabled...as it had been dead for bitcoin.
Always Get Work failed. So i decided to stop trying solo mine....

yeah, new coins usually don't support getwork, getblocktemplate only.
one solution is building your own pool.
but you may find a fork of ccminer with gbt support, I heard nanashi has it.

you mean this? https://github.com/nicehash/ccminer-nanashi/releases

static bool gbt_work_decode_full(const json_t *val, struct work *work)

:-)

Lux and Bitcore seem to be the new goto for better then average, but not always profit. There really aren't any major niches anymore. New miners obliterated those. If you're lucky you'll find a coin that will give you +10-20% for about a day~ before it's on par or worse then something you can find on whattomine. Profits actually aren't THAT bad even though they're declining significantly, we're still well ahead of where we were in parts last year.

You can always gamble with unlisted coins.

True for the average miner.

So I'm running into an issue when I run the build.sh script on Linux.

Code:
/usr/bin/ld: scrypt/fermi_kernel.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.bss' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: scrypt/kepler_kernel.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.bss' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: scrypt/nv_kernel.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.bss' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: scrypt/nv_kernel2.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.bss' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: scrypt/titan_kernel.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.bss' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC

ect...

I tried setting my CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS variables to "-fPIC", aswell as just passing them directly to Make, but neither of those worked, so I'm pretty stumped as to what I should try next...

Try CPPFLAGS instead of CXXFLAGS

There were hacked coins into circulation?
Or exchange just created some IOUs and pushed it through?

This is extensively covered in this thread. Long story short: there are hacked coins but most were freezed by means of a wallet update. Lukely, most of the hacked coins which we couldn't freeze were on btc38 (which did nothing to help us with this).

This is a realy chance to add a coin to the exchange. Do not miss it, Dev.
with best reguards

Chance for what? Such a crappy exchange for 3 btc?
https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/btc-alpha/
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cryptonite/
vol = 0.75 btc in 24 hr. This is fiasco Cry

Fiasco? A coin that had 3000 btc daily volume? More than your exchange as a whole? Lol.

About DAG, it's kinda different tech. The DAG is about every client having its own chain, linked to the others. Mini-blockchain is about having a "snapshot" of the balances, instead of computing them from the full blockchain (or trusting someone to do it for you): this enables clients to start keeping the full blockchain from when they appeared on the network, or even later if they don't need full transaction data. Please see cryptonite.info for detailed description of the XCN custom tech over bitcoin base.

Great explanation, thanks!

From a UX perspective, what are the trade-offs (in terms of phone battery life, confirmations, etc.) of running an XCN client vs mining my personal Raiblock sidechain in order to buy a couple of pizzas or a cup of coffee?

Any idea or guesstimate where the tps top out, all else being equal (IE same number of users on the same mix of hardware)?

A real life test of tps on cryptonite hasn't been made yet, and it's very difficult to make an estimate. What we can say, though, is that xcn transactions are usually lighter than the classic bitcoin based coin, because xcn doesn't need a change address and, thus, needs one less output per tx, making it lighter. Max block size is dynamic, similar to cryptonote coins.

I respect all the opinions but let me say a couple things.
I don't come here to fight with words or anything like that.
I also don't assume people will like what I do.
But there are ways and ways to say things, if you know what I mean.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 19, 2018, 11:52:42 AM
I'm European, living in Thailand and I use bx.in.th.

On BX I can invest in cryptonite.

XCN/BTC Cryptonite

Last price : 0.00000084
Change : -5.62%
Volume : 989,681 XCN

I only have 1 question, why will I invest in Cryptonite, or why will I advice people in Thailand and Europe to invest in it?

The website about Cryptonite's, home page is ok, but "development news" looks "Not-Professional" and is out-dated. Last input was from 19th of September 2014.

I'ts maybe possible for go for the fast gaine, hoping on a positive change and fast redraw the investment.

But we are more looking for a long time project.

I repeat my question : Why will I/We add Cryptonite in or long time investment strategie?

PS: The very low price is not an argument.

Looks like I was in the wrong tread with my first question  Roll Eyes

Cryptonite is still in active development but we have some issues:

- difficulty in entering new exchanges now that some (where we have been historically strong) were closed (luckly, novaexchange seem to be headed for a relaunch).
- need to organise a rebranding or at least an update of the website and other information, but before investing in communication we should fix the previous point.
- my time is limited and I'd need support from community (which has been great till now): for a serious relaunch we need to work on the previous 2 points.

So well, things are progressing slowly but after 4 years we are still here with our innovative technology, which in part is still unique in the crypto world. And this is a proof that we are not a scam or P&D scheme like most of the other coins, which may have a lot of support but end up as worthless.

Thanks for your support.

Ik think you are speaking like a programmer, and if I am correct, respect for that. Than maybe you see Cryptonite as your baby. And because the respect, I will like to know more about your baby.

But first, you can not forget the marketing. Most of the people who I know, have no knowledge about blockchain, or public/private passwords, or miners, or .... They only have a lot of money, and wish, in a short time, make little bit more money from it, or in long time, make a lot more of money from it.

My first step for learn cryptonite was on bx.in.th. But I never have  spend to much time on it, becausse the value was so low.

But, there is an difference between Asian and European thinking. Asians like more to gamble with virtual currency, where an European more looks for the technologie and long time investment. With always the exception on the rule.

So my Thai friends asked if i wonna give Cryptonite a closer look. And I did that. Reason for the question, current rate is so low, if I spend few 100.000 baht, and it doubles in a month, easy gain.

Where I started with searching information, the chat group on BX. I don't know if you understand Thai, but you have to check what the people write, or not write about your baby.

Second part was the internet, website, google, and the TOR network.

3the, my network from people who I know, interrested in crytpto currency.

and now here.

And if I only follow the marketing, without speaking with you, I will advice my Asian friends, good for gamble, but only in very very short periods.

And than i mean in Hr's or minutes. Invest, hope for have a gaine, and than sell. But still be careful.

For long time investors, for now, my advice, stay far away from it.

But that's why I come back to you.

How you see, on long time, your baby become an adult?

Do you have a time line?

Don you have a schedule to follow?

And why i must chose cryptonite and not dog/panda/.. coin?

What makes your baby special?

And last but not least, you are on bx.in.th, an exchange in Thailand. Why I can not find information in Thai? It's like sellling a product in the USA, but never use English. But lucky me, that's why my Thai friends come to me for do it for them.

You are suggesting your friends to pump and dump XCN. We are not interested into this. We are interested in a stable, long running coin with added value (which is the technology and the people who work on it). This is fact, as the coin has been running for 4 years and the technology is working and documented.
I understand that technology is not easy to explain, but if you are looking for a long term investment, what's better than an old coin still running fine after a lot of time? In the end, the probability of a coin (or an asset) to last is proportional to its life.

Speaking about Thai people, I can't read Thai but you and some other people can; it would be very interesting to know what they are saying about XCN in Thailand, and we can respond with help from your translation. What do you think? This will help us understand.

Hi Pallas, I'm pleased to see you are still enjoying working on this groundbreaking yet sadly underperforming and all but forgotten project. Smiley

I wish we had rebranded to Minicoin when we had the chance (and I wasted money grabbing the domains on behalf of the community).

Too bad TPTB refused to listen to reason when we mere users in the peanut gallery explained why Cryptonite is such a godawful, counterproductive, self-defeating name for the project.

Anyway....

I would very much appreciate it if you could ELI5 the difference between the mini-blockchain and a DAG (like Raiblocks).

In my dim, filthy casual understanding, XCN's mini-blockchain is somehow kind of like a type of proto-DAG but I'm having difficulty analyzing and articulating the technical bits.

TIA for educating and uplifting. Cool

Thanks for your renovated support :-)
I remember the days of XCN renaming, though I was not a member of the team yet.

When I download it, I save as file name cryptonite-qt save as type 'Application' and run it. After loading it shows 0.00 XNC amounts and says, in red,  out of sync

Well, the moment you run it it will be out of sync, but should start syncing in some seconds and be done after 30 minutes or more depending on your hardware and connection.
