The hypocrisy is strong in this thread. Roll Eyes

How is ridding oneself of an unwanted fetal parasite destroying their humanity?

Disgusting!

If they don't want babies, then they should use proper contraception methods such as IUDs or condoms. Killing babies is not the solution. Birth control methods are very cheap, and in most of the countries, the government is sponsoring them (with the exception of hardcore catholic countries such as the Philippines, and most of the Muslim nations).

So you've never killed a 10mm insect? How kind of you!

Wait, you had a HAIRCUT recently?! You murderer!

Cancer also has a right to life.

If cancer has a right to life (which it does) and non-cancer also has a right to life and both are existing in the same realm, at the same time then this debate is an internal one. If this is indeed an argument that one has with oneself then PvP victories can at best only provide temporary solace/relief (ego satisfaction) because the crux of the problem is unresolved. Victories on the outside hold no comfort on the inside because you cannot win against yourself lest you be destroyed in your entirety.

Of course you can win against yourself. .. but you need the right tools. Anesthesia. A talented neurosurgeon. Scalpel.

anytime someone dies and I hear someone say 'he's in a better place'.  If the person truly believes that then why don't they kill themselves? It's way too common, even the fast + furious 7 song has that phrase.
George Carlin has a great bit about this, he talks about how we always imagine our loved ones smiling down us, but points out that half of em are in hell, so it's just as likely that they're screaming up at us from below.

Religion is beyond insane.
463  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pope apologizes for the Catholic genocide of the Native Americans on: July 18, 2015, 06:06:45 AM
That's a decent start,  but all us dirty Caucasian Immigrants need to at some point do the right thing and give the indigenous peoples their land back. The entire continent. I think the only ethical thing we non-naties can do in this situation,  given how horrifically we've debased their land during our 400 year hostile occupation,  is exile ourselves from this planet forever.

The whole white race is a monster,  and what we eat is land.

Cuba wants to "coexist" with the US.
translation: Cuba wants to exist.

The opposite reaction is therefore, not real.

Newton's Third Law is about action and reaction, cause and effect.

You're not even trying anymore.  Go lay down or something.
Superstition ties a mind up into logical knots, makes it about as functional as a doorknob as an engine of rationality.

Religion is good until don't go to the extremism.
In the age of Reason in which we now live, superstition itself has become the extreme. Religion is superstition, ergo theism is extremism.

Theism displayed on the internet is farcical, approaching dark comedy.

EDIT: Look. Since you feel so badly about the human race that you want to kill off humans when they are fetuses, unable to begin to defend themselves, why don't you start, right now, with the one human you can get rid of and nobody will care - suicide yourself! God might weep over your loss. But when He sees how many others are saved because of it, He will become joyful.
Not at all, I love humanity and I am mostly optimistic about our future as a species. I don't want every baby aborted, that's absurd. I'm just pro-choice about the matter.

For the record I do think Earth has a sustainable carrying capacity of approximately 2-2.5 billion humans, so we do need to cut the breeding down a bit.

Why chop your tubes up when (...)
Why NOT tie my tubes when I know I'll never want children?

Oh you go right ahead and tie them up.
Already done two years ago. Your turn!

If certain religions are against using condoms and abortion, I wonder what they will say about vasectomy.
Nobody intelligent gives half a fuck what any superstition-poisoned mind thinks about anything. The mind of a theist is broken, dysfunctional rationality machine.

To atheists, theists are walking tragedies, vandalized minds. I feel great compassion for these people because they were abused (intellectually) as children, just like me.

There is no such thing as privacy here now in the information age - it is a ghost of what once was, a dead thing walking.

Let it go, and rejoice fellow slaves, for your masters are losing their privacy too, and the next thing the will lose is the billions they horde for themselves.

I like this point of view!
All systems seek equilibrium in nature, only an outside force can prevent it. Capitalism is a system of non-equilbrium, dependant on constant hierarchy-based violence to keep things out of balance. As information flow becomes wholly impossible to impede or even delay, the light of truth will wash away all the myths of man, and the very worst myth that's going to die this century is the myth that some men deserve to live as kings while others deserve to suffer and die in the mud.

Jeremy Rifkin, economist, government advisor & New York Times bestselling author of the book: The Zero Marginal Cost Society.

Rifkin describes how the emerging Internet of Things is speeding us to an era of nearly free goods and services, precipitating the meteoric rise of a global Collaborative Commons and the eclipse of capitalism.

ENVIENTA Open Source Ecology - Live In An Economic Revolution

With the current rise of global economical problems, more people have to sacrifice their time to earn more income in order to keep up with the times. This is due to the cost of living that has drastically increased compared to that of 10 years ago. Our living needs have changed so much since then, that we find it hard to cope with our daily life.

We depend so much on the main electricity and power this day, from how we cook food to heating up the water with water heaters during our shower. Not only do we have to deal with the problem of the rising electricity bills, we have to also tackle the problems with our economic system that were caused by the usage of these conveniences.

A non-profit association has sprung its doors open to cater to you, me and our beloved Mother Earth. The ENVIENTA has seemed to figure out an answer to this rising issue. They have come up with a whole revolutionary open source based economic system that might be just the exact solution for a better, cleaner and greener living for us.

The concept that they have put together will definitely change how we look at the whole issue. Imagine living in a space where it costs lesser than regular houses, but, it is fitted and controlled entirely with a smart home system. It costs lesser because, instead of a regular brick house, it is made out of upcycled shipping container which is reconstructed to cater to our basic living needs.

As the rising costs of bills does have a huge impact on not only our monthly income, but the time invested to earn the pay cheque, these houses will be fully powered through the natural source of light. Solar panels will be fixed on this housing concept, where light energy from the Sun will be captured and conserved. It will then be converted into electrical energy when needed.

This would mean that all our equipment and electronics will be powered by this natural source of energy. Thus, there will be no monthly electric bills, lifting off the huge burden from our shoulders.

What ENVIENTA has included in their economic revolution concept is the use of Hydroponics and Aeroponics to meet our food demands. This is not only a great idea, but something that has never been put to thought to exist in our own homes as well.

As known to many, more vegetables and plantations today are grown with the excessive use of pesticides, insecticides and other types of chemical. The food that we consume might not be as safe as we thought it is. This will not only be able to reduce the amount of spending on vegetation, but eat food products that are proven to be cleaner and chemical-free, as well as reduce the amount of land or soil used in its growth.

Adding the use of Hydroponics and Aeroponics to the concept for our own use is certainly a vital point for our sustainability in the future and will be able to progress us to live greener as well.

Another great idea that the ENVIENTA has included in their concept is the usage of 3D printing technology. Depending on mainstream mass production line of products would mean that more amount of plastic, paper and other materials were produced in efforts to create a particular product of interest.

Most of us know very well how much waste we produce by day, and some of the waste cannot be recycled such as plastic matter. The idea that ENVIENTA project has introduced in using 3D technology might be another great solution that one could think of. Replacing mass produced furnitures with recycled plastics made from using 3D printing technology is a very innovative idea.

The whole concept seems to work well hand in hand, making it a whole new living edge and space. The amount of ideas ENVIENTA has come up with and how practical and broad they are is something that is sought upon. They might just be the next vital project that will bring the world into a spectrum of economic revolution and the answer to the future.

This is an act of cowardice imo  Smiley  Our parents have cared us for years and then we don't want to raise a child. You should have atleast just one kid to be our successor. After that, its up to you if you want take vasectomy or anything you want  Cheesy
Sorry, too late for that now! Besides, there are plenty of homeless children, children in shelters without parents, abused children, starving children both at home and abroad. If I later decide I want to become a father (unlikely but admittedly possible) I would much rather rescue some innocent child from hellish foster home life or death by starvation than narcissistically spawn a copy of myself. Furthermore half the reason I got my vasectomy is because I would never wish my suffering on another. My DNA sucks, trust me.

Given how many children are already without homes and without food in the USA alone, frankly breeders are selfish pukes who makes me sick to my stomach.

Statement to the Court Upon Being Convicted of Violating the Sedition Act - September 18th, 1918
Quote
Your Honor, years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

I listened to all that was said in this court in support and justification of this prosecution, but my mind remains unchanged. I look upon the Espionage Law as a despotic enactment in flagrant conflict with democratic principles and with the spirit of free institutions…

Your Honor, I have stated in this court that I am opposed to the social system in which we live; that I believe in a fundamental change—but if possible by peaceable and orderly means.

I would sell all my Bitcoins if someone offered me a viable solution for transcending capitalism with minimal violence in exchange for them.

This would be something akin to a manifesto or treatise, I imagine.

if the price hit 2k i would sell everything. wipe out student loans, travel the world for a year, and then start a business
You must have a lot of BTC if 2k is all you'd need to do all that! I could wipe out my debt and maybe travel for a few months at best.

There goes the birthrate.
The birthrate was already going to be fucked anyway, because america is headed for third world status economy and a baby here costs on average $18,000k per year x 18 years if you're lucky! By 2025 only the rich and the insanely foolish will be having children in America.
