Hi everyone. I'm thinking of creating a forum software for BitcoinTalk. It will be a SMF fork, modified to fit the requirements theymos laid out in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50617.0

I will put it up on GiitHub shortly.

Finally someone that does instead of talking. That's the spirit! 5500 BTC await you! Tongue

I will sell you 0.2 BTC for $20. You send first.
466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bit Bit is giving away Block Erupters and a 2 BTC prize! on: August 03, 2013, 03:38:59 PM
WELCOME TO BIT BIT
(The Forum)
A BITCOIN SITE OF OPPORTUNITY!

BIT BIT IS ALL ABOUT OPPORTUNITY AND HERE IS THE REASON WHY AND ITS PURPOSE.

A NEW GLOBAL SOCIETY IS TAKING FORM. A GREAT RESPONSIBILITY IS ON THE FOUNDERS WHO ARE LAYING THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH THIS NEW SOCIETY WILL BE BUILT.
THE FOUNDERS OF THE COMING AGE ARE GOING TO DEFINE WHAT THIS NEW SOCIETY IS GOING TO BE LIKE AND WILL DECIDE THE WAY IN WHICH HUMAN BEINGS
BEHAVE TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER WELL BEYOND THIS CURRENT AGE.

WHO ARE THE FOUNDERS OF THIS NEW GLOBAL SOCIETY? THEY ARE THE DEVELOPERS OF SCIENTIFIC, TECHNICAL, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL INNOVATION AND ALL THOSE
WHO ARE CURRENTLY WORKING HARD TO CREATE OR SUPPORT THESE INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES AND SOCIAL MEDIAS'. IT IS HARDER TO CHANGE THAT WHICH IS ALREADY ESTABLISHED.
THE ONLY TIME THAT ALLOWS THE GREATEST CHANCE AT CREATING A HEALTHY AND POSITIVE SOCIETY IS AT THE TIME OF ITS VERY BEGINNINGS.

THAT TIME IS TODAY.

WILL WE CONTINUE TO TOLERATE THE VAST CENTRALIZED CLASS DIFFERENCES BASED ON AN INDIVIDUALS WEALTH,
OR WILL THE FOUNDERS DECIDE THAT WEALTH SHOULD BE DECENTRALIZED AND FREELY OPEN TO ALL?
CAN CLASS BE BASED ON EACH INDIVIDUALS TALENTS AND ATTRIBUTES INSTEAD OF EACH INDIVIDUALS ACCUMULATED RESOURCES?
WHAT IS YOUR CLASS STANDING TODAY IN THE SOCIETIES OF THIS ERA... IS IT FAIRLY PLACED UPON YOU... IS IT BASED ON WHO YOU ARE...
OR HOW MUCH YOU HAVE?

WEALTH IS YOUR RIGHT. WE AT BIT BIT FULLY SUPPORT THE RIGHT TO HAVE WEALTH, BUT WHAT WE AT BIT BIT ARE AGAINST
IS THE FAR TO PREVALENT CONDITION OF PEOPLE IN DESPERATE LACK THAT HAVE NO OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE THE CONDITION THEY ARE IN.

IN THIS WORLD THE HUMAN CONDITION OF SUFFERING CAUSED BY THE DESPERATE LACK OF EVEN THE VERY BASICS OF HUMAN NEED HAS ALWAYS EXISTED
AND THAT MAY ALWAYS BE SO. WE AT BIT BIT AIM TO CHANGE THIS BY MAKING IT PROFITABLE TO GIVE RESOURCES TO OTHERS IN NEED
THEREFOR CHANGING THE RULES OF SOCIETY .

IMAGINE A WORLD WERE BEING GENEROUS BRINGS US BOTH EMOTIONAL WEALTH AND GREATER FINANCIAL WEALTH.
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF BY HELPING THAT PERSON OR FAMILY THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ONLY IMPROVING THEIR LIVES
BUT ARE ALSO GIVING THEM A CHANCE FOR GREATER OPPORTUNITY, BUT THAT YOU ALSO INCREASE YOUR OWN FINANCIAL PORTFOLIO?
IMAGINE YOURSELF SENDING YOUR WEALTH TO THOSE CAUSES THAT YOU DETERMINE WORTHY AND FOR YOUR TROUBLES
YOU ACTUALLY INCREASE YOUR OWN WEALTH.

THATS WHAT BIT BIT IS ALL ABOUT,  WE ARE THE FOUNDERS OF THE COMING AGE...

AND AS A BITCOIN USER...

468  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2013-07-29 Bitcoin Illegal in Thailand on: July 29, 2013, 11:08:19 AM
Ok, may be I'm not aware about legal procedures in Thailand.
it seems like sharia court, where judge makes decision according not to law but by their own opinion.

Obviously for there to be any penalty it would have to go through the courts.  ie Civil and/or Criminal charges would have to be brought and trials, appeals etc...

Any Guinea pig volunteers?

Maybe an American Goat will do... No need to bring pigs from Guinea.
469  Local / Mineração em Geral / Re: Calc on: July 28, 2013, 09:08:48 PM
e essa formula serve para todas as moedas ou apenas para bitcoin?

Apenas BTC. Para outras moedas os valores serão diferentes.
470  Local / Mineração em Geral / Re: Calc on: July 28, 2013, 03:50:03 PM
porque 2*32???
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Difficulty

A equação completa será:
D = Difficuldade | H=Mhash/s | R= Recompensa (25BTC agora)

24 / (D * 2^32 / (H * 10^6) / 60 / 60) * R = BTC/dia
471  Local / Mineração em Geral / Re: Calc on: July 28, 2013, 01:56:55 PM
eu nao quero uma calculadora.. eu quero e saber fazer os calculos... deve ter uma forma qualquer nao?

Code:
difficulty * 2^32 / hashrate

Para calcular 1 dia:
Code:
86,400 / (difficulty * 2^32 / hashrate)

472  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Do NOT use MT.GOX! on: July 28, 2013, 01:00:06 PM
IIRC there is a bounty for anyone that has a withdraw actually go through in the last 7 weeks.

I got out after it took them 5 weeks to send a SEPA, which ultimately had to be cancelled. Now there is rumours that that their Polish bank account has been closed (it's been removed from their staging subdomain).

Don't talk nonsense. I'm looking at their staging subdomain and the polish bank account data is there. It wasn't removed. Stop the FUD, ok?

Well if you go to staging.mtgox.com and look at the bottom you can see that Poland has been removed from the footer (and no longer has Polish translation).

And what does that have to do with their bank account? You said the account was closed. You were FUD'ing. Period. Don't try to weasel out now with a dumb excuse. How old are you, 6?

Thread is FUD.

Quote
...levies a toll on electricity generated and injected to the line.

As a producer you just have to pay to use (and fuck up) the national power grid, nothing to do with collecting sunlight 'an sich' and for your own use.

And then they passsed a law which forbids you from collecting sunlight without connecting it to the grid... Tongue

476  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Pls remove pip from install instructions on: July 28, 2013, 12:03:22 AM
Please supply your apt sources file.

FYI I'm using a clean install of Ubuntu. (In fact, it even boots up clean every time, from a CD.)

So I will get it booted up and paste the sources, but FYI they will be the same as whatever you would normally find in a clean install.

Maybe activate some of the extra repositories that come off by default, like Universe(?).
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins transferred under 5 secs. w/o confirmations! How possible? on: July 28, 2013, 12:01:06 AM
looks like it's some sort of payment address and funds are moving to different change wallet after transactions. I found http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewgpg.php?nick=PsyKick this guy's address in one of these transactions.

Which transaction was that? That is my OTC account. I may have some information for you.

 it was 19.88 BTC transfer

I think that was Bitcoin-24 returning the balance I had in there when they closed.

Hey, psy. Please believe me when I say that I'm not accusing any mods/admins of wrongdoings with this thread. It was started to get a serious concern addressed, then morphed somewhat toward IW, not meaning to bring you into the discussion, albeit another poster above felt it was warranted. When I first read the PsyKick post, I didn't even make the connection until you came here and started asking questions.

Exactly when did Bitcoin-24 close? The reason I ask is because I thought I saw bitcoins go to them via IW's wallet.

New information: I was wrong. It was a Bitcoin-Central withdrawal, while they were still working. In fact it was the last withdrawal I made from bitcoin-central before them closing.
