461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 28, 2022, 07:00:16 AM
I just woke up from sleep and was very surprised to see today's UCL result Shocked, I think Villarreal can at least score 1 goal in their away game and repay it at home. Based on match statistics, Liverpool fully dominated this match, they managed to create a lot of goal opportunities (19 attempted shots, 5 of them were shots on goal), in contrast to Villarreal which only had 1 attempted shot and 0 shots on goal Roll Eyes

From this first leg match I think we already know who will go to the UCL final, we just have to wait for the second leg between Real Madrid Vs Manchester City.

I also predicted BTTS, but the result wasn't surprising. It was the approach that Unai Emery took which surprised everyone. He does defend well for sure but as we saw against other teams they do spring counters.

Against Liverpool,,, they weirdly parked the bus and a team who does not do that should not try to. Worse, after letting in 2 goals, they still parked the bus???  Huh
462  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 28, 2022, 05:25:27 AM
No the rules are clearly to protect under18s,,, not gambling addicts Smiley Not adults as they are responsible for their own decisions.

Of course there are also exceptions as I have met very mature children and myself,,, probably was still immature in my 20s as I remember ICO days hehe, but anyway moot point. Rules are rules and people voted for their governments.
The intentions behind the rule seem to be clear however it is the implementation of the rule that is going to be difficult to put into practice, after all there is not really a mention of what it means to be too popular with the people that are younger than 18 years old, does this means that a certain percentage needs to be reached for an athlete to be banned from promoting casinos, does it needs to be the majority group among his fans or will they use some other metric to determine this?

But honestly and really,,, so what if it becomes a blanket ban, right? What on earth do we lose if our favorite crypto brand in gambling cannot be associated with our favorite star or athlete? What do we lose? Are we less happy? Are our lives less enriched?

If I was an Arsenal fan,,, and I am so not. I would be so so happy if I saw my favorite sports casino on the jersey (which they are). I would probably be even happier if my favorite player had an exclusive deal.

But if suddenly he could not.

I would not be pissed or angry or sad. He is still my favorite player and my favorite casino is still my favorite.

And the price,,, protection of underaged kids from too early exposure to casino.

I think this is great!
463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 27, 2022, 10:02:09 AM
Wow, what a game we had yesterday. City will feel disappointed even after winning the game, they played really, really well and should have scored a few more goals.
Then again - what to say about Real? They take even the smallest opportunities they can get - and while City is missing clear-cut chances Benzema needs only a half-cross to put the ball in the net.

City will feel that conceding 3 goals was too much - but using their chances is a trademark of Real's gameplay this season.

We can only hope that the second leg will be as good - the result will lead to an open game as well.

This is really what football is all about, and I just could not be more envious of anyone able to watch the game live,,, the scoreline also is not reflective of the whole game which some reports say City should also even have won like 8-2 or something. But clearly you only need to give Real Madrid a few chances and they will be able to convert them, unlike City who everybody knows has only one striker,,, but what a time of life to see him on form right?

Amazing game.

465  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: April 27, 2022, 08:51:10 AM
I would support if for one thing that I would then have to support boycott of all aggressor countries, which by the way includes almost every single big country whose companies and citizens run casinos,,, so no in the end I will not boycott a casino just because it was Russian.

We will all be watching and betting on World Cup soon, are we boycotting it because the host is known for human rights abuses?

Russia has been doing this for many years like US - these powerful states have done more damage to the world than good. If they utilize their efforts toward REAL peace - than the world would be a better place to live in the real term rather than all the mess they have created in the name of peace.

I seldom comment on things like this but I can say one thing for sure,,, war is profitable. All wars are waged by governments yes but they are manufactured,,, produced,,, fought by corporations. Arms supply, arms trade, military training, transport, logistics, research and development, production. This is all companies with massive profits. Check defense budgets of all countries, millions and billions per contract paid to private contractors who by the way work for many governments even on both sides of war.

Until war stops being profitable,,, they will not stop.

So Punjab Kings won the last edition by 11 runs, with 14 extras, but even the losing side managed to record 16 extras, taking the total to 30, which in my memory is the biggest by any Blackjack edition I have ever witnessed,,, amazing bust Wink

Good luck for today:

Newcastle do have a good attack but their defence I think is horrible to be up against City or Liverpool,,, not as disciplined as Crystal Palace or Brighton, so I would say the danger is indeed that Newcastle could snatch a win at Liverpool.

Concede first and concede too many though,,, and it is game over because then the feeling of panic in the big team is gone.

However Spurs on the other hand panics all of the time  Grin
Newcastle can't be that good for "now", however they have already spent like 100+ million on this team in the second part of the season after the takeover happened. I mean they were clearly in the relegation zone and they have been getting better and better results and took them higher. I am not saying that they can't beat Liverpool, in football I could believe even Norwich beating Liverpool, it's football.

Something like that happened I believe recently, Watford beat Liverpool as the first team to beat them one season, that must have been the season where pandemic made them give a break, 2 seasons ago or so if I am not wrong. Imagine a world where the team that relegated was the first team to beat Liverpool who went unbeaten for 30 games or so until then. But Newcastle would be shocked about beating Liverpool as well.

Their improvement rather came after Eddie Howe arrived however,,, so I see it as less of their purchases and more of the coach still in the end. Of course both matter and a bad coach cannot get the best out of a good talent but I think in Newcastle case,,, definitely more of a coach issue for now.

I actually agreed with you if you read what I said,,, the danger is Newcastle could snatch a win, but they have to attack to do this and not concede first Smiley

It does not seem clear to me what this new rule mean. It does not seem to be a ban on using sports personalities,,, just to not let them target Under 18s (which for me is a very very fair rule).

Role models like it or not live in a different time,,, but they can post their half naked bodies on IG and Under18s can see that easily (or use Google on their own of course).
This people are creating different rules just to jeopardize our passion but who cares about it. I think they are trying to reduce the influence of sport celebrities on teenagers and gambling addicts. The rule are meant to target gambling platform with bigger restrictions from using the influence of celebrities to lure innocent children, maybe adults too from becoming gambling addictive.
That's a good try though!

No the rules are clearly to protect under18s,,, not gambling addicts Smiley Not adults as they are responsible for their own decisions.

Newcastle are indeed quite developed now but too naive if they can be one of the destroyers of the big 4 teams now.
They are still not enough for that although indeed they are still quite good in terms of appearance after the half-season break.
I think the possibility of a draw is still possible even though it is quite difficult but to win is almost more difficult when the opponent has big ambitions to win trophies this season

arallmuus maybe you breached it by being too good with your picks  Grin but yes,,, do not worry about it. I think promotions also disappeared for me at one time either late last year or early this year. Steve sorted it out so easy.

Thanks for the alert, I don't know NFL picks but was a very happy winner last couple of years from Multi Master so it is just about combining a little bit of research and a lot of luck  Cool
472  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Southampton FC Main Sponsor 🚀🚀 on: April 26, 2022, 07:37:06 AM
Yo Sportsbet, according to David Ornstein, Liverpool is open to having a crypto shirt sponsor.
Their current deal with Standard Chartered is expiring in the summer of 2023 and is worth around 40 mil. pounds yearly. The next one will have to be bigger though.

What are you waiting for? Grin

That would be so cool for so many of you Liverpool fans. In that case allow me to say I bet Spurs is also open to sponsorship, I mean I am pretty much used to seeing AIA already and I think it is a big longterm deal but there is always a bit of noise about them in the current condition of climate discussions so I wonder if they would consider a different move too.

It does make me think about what makes a club choose a sponsor these days, is it anymore identity or not really? I thought United always has American companies because of the owners but then Liverpool does not have American companies on the shirt.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk bought Twitter on: April 26, 2022, 05:57:12 AM
Does anybody else feel like 44 billion is like kind of cheap for something as big as Twitter? I feel like there is nothing bigger,,, yes maybe Facebook has much more people but nothing is as relevant or as cool as Twitter, even though I do not follow it anymore or use it I remember it.

I would guess 44 billion was not all there was to it?
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are the top crypto influencers on: April 25, 2022, 11:45:04 AM
I would add actual artists and creative persons like musicians,,, street artists like PBOY who even has account here in bitcointalk. These are the real influencers we should be looking at because they actually ARE creative people who know the industry and are not just shilling random tokens but actual art. Which will be important for NFT utility.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How are your shitcoins? on: April 25, 2022, 11:12:06 AM
Haha,,, my shitcoins are truly madly deeply shit that even when Bitcoin went ATH in 2020 they did not really budge much.

I actually let go of most of them even earlier around 2017-2019 and just kept the major ones like LTC and Monero,,, and recently XMR did really well so not worried.

Lesson learnt though guys. Now I do not even waste time checking them Smiley

Lazio 1 - 0 Milan

unbelievable, milan is losing
Immobile's quick goal at minute 4' made many people think that Milan lost against Lazio but at the end of the match it didn't happen. Giroud managed to score 1 goal for Milan in the 50' minute and Tonali also contributed 1 goal in the 92' minute which made Milan win with a score of 2-1 against Lazio.

Totally believable if you think about the entire performance of all the top teams in Serie A this season, especially since the 2022 half started! Every team has had an almost equal chance to win the title but dropped points also at almost an equal rate all season long.

Totally crazy, and Lazio winning was a possibility from early on but they let their advantage go. It will not be the last time an Italian team does this now:)

Hey guys just wanted to share like my good luck with Sportsbet promos,,, in practically 5 seconds worth of typing I won 3mbtc freebet from the 'Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte 🥊 Prediction Contest'. Pick the favorite,,, put in mid round (6) and it hit with a very good KO!

Also say thank you to the organizer (jeremypwr) and of course the sponsor (Sportsbet.io) for all of these awesome games that literally are so easy they only take a few minutes to join. There is literally no other sportsbook that is as rewarding as you guys, what a joy to gamble at Sportsbet  Cheesy

I think that is a good move.
We all know that Celebrities already have so many things which bother them - so they don't want to take a burden of any trouble on them. MAybe they are allowed to do this. They would keep themselves away from trouble.

Fk celebrities man,,, I got my own things bothering me,,, I could not care less if they are banned from advertising crypto or gambling or their own hair products. I love athletes as sportspeople, I love Son (South Korean footballer) but can give 2 craps about what clothes he wears.

Hum - that is a valid point but that again goes in their personal domain. Their half naked body would not affect youngster to do that since they would be aware of their culture - but showing someone that this hobby is productive will surely have some impact on kids. And the society where different ethnicity live together this would have a bad impact.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I am talking about role models influencing people who are not old enough to vote,,, therefore not able to make their own rational decisions. I agree we cannot show them gambling ads, but at the same time we are showing them nudity-for-money.
