4702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country knows about cock fighting betting? on: April 14, 2019, 08:46:14 AM
I have read a lot of threads the past few days but infortunately I was trying to look upon discussions that talk about cock fighting. Why? because this event is one of the old gambling activities way back and up to present. I do not know if it is known by other country but for sure in Mexico, Spain and Philippines cock fighting is widely spread. Sometimes it is legal but sometimes men operated it illegal.

Does you country know about this cock fight betting?

I have personally witnessed and attended a legal tournament held in one of our main concert arena in the Philippines about cock fighting. The funny thing is, there is also a televised live channel in our local cable provider for cock fighting. Back when I was still a kid, both my grand father and my father used to own a farm specifically for breeding cock fighters in our province.

My dad used to participate in tournaments and win enormous amount of cash. But he finally moved-on from his gambling addiction towards improvement of his life. Cock fighting in general is a multi-factorial type of gambling. Sure, luck still plays a role but it also depends on the breed of the chicken, its bloodline (if it came from a family of fighters- like what they said), its technique and training.

If you guys have any questions about cock fighting in general, I will happily provide you with some answers!
4703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you teach bitcoin if someone does want to know coming from you? on: April 14, 2019, 08:09:20 AM
You cannot force someone to learn about something especially if they are uninterested/disinterested about it. But if you are really determined and passionate about it, you can show them your proof that you really earned income during your investments on bitcoin.

The problem with cryptocurrencies (in general) is it has this stigma due to media being portrayed as a medium for illegal activities. But in all honesty, the results will be the focal point in order to influence others. Most people already benefitted from its high volatility making it as a short-term investment.

Bitcoin in itself, is relatively complicated to explain especially to a beginner. There are a lot of infographics and videos explaining bitcoin to the simplest way possible and they can start from there in order to understand the technology which powers this revolutionary payment method.
4704  Other / Meta / Re: Signature posters Union on: April 13, 2019, 04:34:59 PM
I don't recommend about the creation of a union for low paying wages. There are campaigns out there that use their personal money to fund their campaign and it is on the discretion of the user if they want to join a low-paying signature campaign or not.

I don't think we need a union for this, as it totally depends on the users if he/she wants to apply for a lower paying campaign or not. It makes no sense to force projects to pay more if they can't afford it.

Like what Hacker said, no one is forced to participate in a low-paying signature. The creation of a union would only bring harm than good as there can never be a "standard" payment in campaign signatures.
4705  Other / Meta / Re: Ice bucket challange ... meh ... Rank up challenge ! on: April 13, 2019, 03:59:30 PM
Maybe you could provide some limitations on who can participate as there are some people who are like 5-10 merits away from ranking up. In addition, I guess you could also increase the time limit depending on their current rank, with the lowest rank having the least time (maybe before less than 24 hours) and other ranks following the same rule as well. Nonetheless, this is a noble purpose as long as charity always wins!

Good luck to all participants who will be attempting to challenge this event!
4706  Economy / Economics / Re: There's nothing more happier than seeing your bitcoin price going up! on: April 13, 2019, 03:17:33 PM
Everyone seems to be inclined whenever the price of bitcoin increases but we must also appreciate the valuable lessons we learn if its price decreases. Me too, I personally feel delighted whenever my investments bear fruit and sometimes I inevitably feel bitter whenever some lose its value. Although this seems to be case, I also appreciate the moments I learn from my own mistakes.
This opens up the opportunity to reflect on my decisions on why some of my investments failed. These learnings are what I consider to be essential especially I strive to be someone who wants to be successful in the cryptoworld.

4709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling securely and sensibly online on: April 11, 2019, 06:29:06 PM
The only problem that I see with online gambling is its accessibility. This factor alone is both a positive and a negative factor depending on one's perspective. Compared to casinos, online gambling provides convenience and flexibility since it can be accessed solely on the internet. But the problem lies on temptation. If a person is on withdrawal, he/she is one click away from gambling again.

Although this may be viewed as something negative, the positive effect outweighs the negative implications. View gambling as a form of entertainment and not as something that you should rely your daily-monthly income.

This is far much easier said than done. Bitcoin gambling can easily fall out of control, and bad habits quickly turn into addiction. I think no gambling is better than little.

In order to cure addiction, a gradual withdrawal is needed. The hobby must be switched into something recreational that distracts the mind from accessing it. With the emergence of online casinos, people are most likely tempted as it is one click away.
4710  Other / Meta / Re: Thoughts on people that use this forum as income source? on: April 11, 2019, 04:24:21 PM
It is inevitable that this forum is used as a medium for promoting business, advertisements, and recruitments for businesses. This forum has the largest amount of users active around the world and this would be a great opportunity for people who are looking to share their knowledge about cryptocurrencies in general.

The problem comes when people view the forum purely on earning income alone. This defeats the purpose of being a learning tool and as a general guide to most newbies since the forum is being populated with spammers, scammers, hackers, and abusers.

Lastly, relying on this forum as their primary source of income is a risky move. The flow of income may be unstable and the offers from various campaign signatures is mainly on a short-term basis.
4711  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Just Started to Accept Bitcoin in my Espresso Bar on: April 11, 2019, 01:41:42 PM
Hello and congratulations for your growing business! I have a few questions in mind that needs to be clarified based on your experience ever since you started accepting bitcoin as an alternative payment:

1. How many people preferred paying in bitcoin compared to using cash? Follow-up question, was your business able to attract more customers due to implementing this kind of change?;
2. How did this affect the overall profit margin of the business?; and
3. Were the transactions taxable or is it a loophole in order to avoid paying taxes?

I am hoping that you shed me some light regarding my queries since it can also be an opportunity for other future businessmen to accept bitcoin as a payment. I wish nothing but the best to your business, OP.
4712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much time you spend to read forum post ? on: April 11, 2019, 11:43:21 AM
Hello Guys,

Welcome to my thread. Today I am going to share my own knowledge about the necessity of reading forum post. Let me ask you something

Which one you like most?

1. Do you like to make your own post ?
2. Do you like to spend time on reading forum post?

Both options are very crucial and one should not supersede the other.

For the first option, making your own post is the first step in communicating with the community. You get the opportunity to share your knowledge, to give your opinion on something, have the chance to get merited, and to layout your platforms if you are promoting your business, services/products. In other words, constructing a post connects you with the people in the forum.

For the second option, browsing through the forum and reading posts from different subsections essentially render you the necessary knowledge about cryptocurrencies, in general. For newbies who are relatively new to this term, they get to learn all the basics and fundamentals (given that they utilize the search bar effectively!).

Well I like to do more of reading and commenting to others post but when ever I have something I feel is important and helpful to the forum I do not hesitate to air my mind by composing my own post

Sharing anything is appreciated by everyone, regardless on how small or big it is. Just prevent spamming the forum and re-stating what most people said as it only contributes in flooding posts.
4713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling turn an atheist to theist and superstitious? on: April 11, 2019, 06:27:34 AM
<snip...>

I do not see the relevance of connecting religious beliefs into luck but if it actually helps the person overcome the stress or pressure in gambling, then they are free to do so. Unfortunately, people who cling into believing superstitious beliefs typically end up disappointed. No matter what prayer you act or offering you do, when you are dealing with odds, everything is random.

Gambling is really a game for you to win easy money and for entertainment, that is why it doesn't have any relation in any superstitions or religion, even it is all about chances of winning.

That is the problem of most addicts as they view gambling as a form of acquiring 'easy money'. But in fact, it goes both ways that it is easy to win money and also easy to lose everything. If people tend to cling into superstitious beliefs whenever they gamble, let them be as it is their way of rationalizing their current situation. If it helps them mitigate their stress then I do not see the problem on doing so.
4714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take the profit OR hold on on: April 11, 2019, 01:10:37 AM
I have invested in ETH when it was $105. Now it's $176. Will it be a good idea to take the profit now? Or I should hold on for better profit which may lead to less profit too  Grin Suggestion is appreciated.

This depends on your primary goal before you invested in ETH. Do you seek for short/long-term profit? Do you feel the need to cash-in your investments for something? Those are some of the questions that you need to answer before deciding whether to take the profit or HODL as you are the only person who has the capacity to decide.

Personally, I would cash out fifty percent (50%) of the ETH for another investment and the remaining value for long-term. With the high volatility of cryptocurrencies in general, I would maximize it potential for day-trading even if the nature is riskier compared to investing.

hold it again, if you last longer it might go up to $ 500. if you sell now, you have got a profit but if one day it rises higher, then you will regret it.

On the other hand, if the value decreases he/she will regret it also. The price is multi-factorial and needs to be taken lots of consideration before cashing out.
4715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: technical analysis is enough to be successful in trading ???? on: April 10, 2019, 11:12:02 AM
I am trading from many years using technical analysis but technical analysis only is not enough , I am lacking something in my analysis and not having confidence in taking trades only based on technical analysis, I did ask many traders they say lot of factors like psychology, crowd behaviour , market sentiments , any experienced traders here know some other factors  please mention , and if  of you know  books where I can learn those  please mention book name            thanks

Doing technical analysis alone cannot guarantee you to become a successful trader. Remember that trading is a multi-factorial skill that requires various experiences and skills in order to become successful. I strongly suggest that you study the market through considering the internal and external influences on the coin. Furthermore, confidence is something that is gained through experience.

I am not aware of any books that teaches the basics of trading but you can browse around this section of the forum as many people have provided their personal tips and experiences in order to become a better trader.

Quite very effective if you are willing to taking small profits per trade and not be so greedy.

This is actually what most day-traders do. They accrue small profits from their transactions but they have to develop an exit strategy to know the limits of their trades. Multiple small trades with small profit margins may be profitable but it might be difficult to recover from ONE BIG LOSS from a trade.
4716  Economy / Reputation / Re: 2 Merit For Small And Off topic, Brand New First post. on: April 10, 2019, 08:02:43 AM
The Post Very Small And Almost Off Topic. But One Full Member  Person gave me two merit in my post. I don't know what I do.

To be honest, it looks like you shot yourself at the foot when you posted this question especially here in the META boards. Playing the victim will not do anything good as most people here are crafty/skilful in busting out spammers and abusers.

You should have just ignored and moved on. Begging for answers make it look like you are guilty of something.
4717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Digital options - Gambling or trading? on: April 10, 2019, 04:57:29 AM
<snip...>

Two worlds that seemingly is similar but are worlds apart in terms of nature. Digital options may offer an option where you can speculate the price in a given time frame but there are internal and external factors that can be considered in order to verify your assumptions. Furthermore, people develop techniques and skills in every trade successful/fail trade they do since experience contributes to it.

Unlike in gambling, there may be techniques (i.e probability, etc.) to lower the risks but everything revolves around luck and the odds. Not to mention, there are various negative implications that an individual can succumb into in the long-run.

4719  Economy / Lending / Re: Need small, short-term loan (0.003 BTC) on: April 09, 2019, 10:33:20 AM
I can fill this loan, can you provide a signed message from old staked address? I see that you use a different address here compared to the address registered in the signature campaign you are on

Good day!

As was mentioned by DarkStar_ on my trust page, the bitcoin address that I inputted is a "2 of 3 multisig address, and is not SegWit". Due to this, I had to look for a wallet that supports SegWit and I learned that coinbase.com seemed to fit in that criterion. But the address that I provided for the loan is my local exchange wallet that I primarily use for my daily expenditures.
