New wallet is good for the future of BCN.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CYP] CYPHER [3 HARDCODED NODES][QUBIT][1MB][SITE][C-CEX - BITTREX] on: April 12, 2015, 06:44:07 AM
Interesting, looks like the 2nd whale withdrew almost half of his coins.

Estimated Mining Time: 2 weeks Approx.

is that accurate??

The real block time seems to be about 32 seconds instead of 120. PoW will end in about 35 hours.

The spacing seems to be correct (120 seconds) so I guess the base difficulty should be 4 times of what it is now.

Code: (main.cpp#43)
unsigned int nTargetSpacing = 2 * 60; // 120 seconds
unsigned int nRetarget = 30;
unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 12 * 60 * 60; // 12 hours
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = -1;           // unlimited
unsigned int nModifierInterval = 10 * 60; // time to elapse before new modifier is computed
static const int64_t nTargetTimespan_legacy = nTargetSpacing * nRetarget; // nTargetTimespan_legacy = 3600
static const int64_t nInterval = nTargetTimespan_legacy / nTargetSpacing; // nInterval = 30

static const int64_t nTargetTimespan = 16 * 60; // nTargetTimespan = 960

What is this:
unsigned int nRetarget = 30;
static const int64_t nInterval = nTargetTimespan_legacy / nTargetSpacing; // nInterval = 30

Is the block time 30 second instead of 120 second? So the mining will last 5.2 days instead of 21 days?
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam or not? Coinbase offer up to $8500 dollars to small investors on: April 11, 2015, 07:44:46 AM
...
Investors who want to apply, please make a deposit to ....

Think about it.
If everyone invests by sending to the same address, then how would they know who sent how much?

Exactly. If it is too good to be true, then it is not true.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.3 on: April 11, 2015, 07:13:31 AM
if we do not use -cclock, will it use the existing clock such as 720MHz, instead of the default 1000MHz for 7970?
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - optimized X11/X13/NeoScrypt/Lyra2RE/etc. kernel-switch miner on: April 11, 2015, 07:10:38 AM
Catalyst 13.12

Nah dude unless you are stilling wanting to mine scrypt, this driver set is going to put you at a disadvantage for other algorithms.

Also I think you need AMD APP SDK 2.9 or 3.0 beta

You need to use 14.6 or higher to get better results.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blowing the lid off the CryptoNote/Bytecoin scam (with the exception of Monero) on: April 11, 2015, 07:03:35 AM
There have been several cryptonotes.  None achieved a level of community support so well as XMR, and AFICT, always because of issues of transparency, misrepresentation, contract stability.  (The latter can be construed to include a credibly sustainable development trajectory.)

Bytecoin could be the "bitcoin" of cryptonotes, however, it has serious premining issue.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really coming to Bitcoin ? on: April 10, 2015, 05:02:07 PM
Government only able to regulate bitcoin service, not bitcoin itself
Some people aren't scared & keep using bitcoin

Government will try to regulate/destroy bitcoin using various way like 51% attack / force bitcoin core developers to follow them Angry
I wonder what will bitcoiner do if it happen

Regulating the bitcoin service is good for the adoption as we can be sure the "banks" we store the coins cannot steal from us.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really coming to Bitcoin ? on: April 09, 2015, 11:08:20 AM
The Reserve Bank of Australia does not believe that bitcoin regulation is worth the cost as it may require international cooperation.  Regulation cost money that's the bottom line.

Regulation costs money, but it could also potentially bring in money for the government. from taxes and other things.
They would also want to regulate it to try and prevent money laundering, but obviously, they would fail. If banning cryptocurrencies also counts as "regulation", then it could also occur.

The central banks can wait for the bitcoin technology to mature. Then they will regulate it and bring in more taxes and other things. At present, it is not worth the effort and bitcoin might die. It is not their responsibility to help bitcoin technology.
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: China lower the power price and cause bitcoin crash? on: April 09, 2015, 11:05:05 AM
It has been confirmed that the power rate in China will drop by 2 cents(yuan) ? Could this trigger the bitcoin crash?
I don't think so, the miners can use the power more cheaper than the industrial and commercial electricity, this power rate decreasing will not change anything.

The Chinese miners use the power at price negotiated directly with power generator, which is much cheaper than commercial or industry rates.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: April 07, 2015, 09:06:09 AM
$100 bitcoin would be a beautiful thing.

You might not see that beautiful thing in your life time.

Monero continues to get pounded, resulting in a nice iCEBREAKER free experience.

You can buy more Monero compared to previously.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 07, 2015, 07:54:53 AM
