Niche or not, there has to be someone willing to fill it. That's why Symbiont was such an asset.

The takeaway should be that Symbiont has a lot more resources than Counterparty has alone, so we'll be working on products that are orthogonal to Counterparty *as well*. (We'll also have more resources than ever dedicated to Counterparty itself.)
Are you speaking from the perspective of Counterparty or Symbiont? If the former, you're saying that the Counterparty dev group will be working (in part) on products orthogonal to Counterparty? If the latter, is Symbiont currently working on any product that incorporates Counterparty?

Can I run counterpartyd without bitcoind?

Hi guys, I think I've asked this a couple times so I'm sorry to "beat a dead horse" but is there any way to send XCP without running a full bitcoind node?

Is there any way to send MAID besides the omniwallet.org sweeper?

Long-term price movement aside, what is ETH likely to do in the short-term and why?
I see the introduction of ETH to Chinese exchanges as a potential factor for positive price movement and mining (~50k ETH mined per day) and the release of a GUI wallet (making it easier for people to dump their presale buys) as factors for negative price movement. But what does this add up to?

zeeman, is it a technical issue, legal, financial...? No response here: https://discourse.swarm.fund/t/state-of-the-swarm/232/3So Joel Dietz is now an official advisor to competing crowdfunding platform Weifund? http://weifund.ioHis Facebook page says "I just had the biggest nerdgasm since I read the #Ethereum whitepaper." So maybe he is moving on from Counterparty/Swarm to Ethereum/Weifund?

So what's up with the Symbiont cryprosecurity issuance? Can I buy it? What are they doing next?

I'm expecting this to be fully automated within the next week so that every time anyone issues assets there will be an automatic distribution. This may happen when the asset is created or when someone clicks the "start crowdfund" option our interface.
Any update on this? BTW, what are your favorite Swarm projects currently? Vevue looks interesting. What I last heard is that the team gathered in Palo Alto and that some of them are working 18H a day to build the thing. A lot of programming needs to be done. I like Vevue indeed. Nice people as well, trying to do things right, working a lot of hours on their project for a very long time now. I really can't wait to see the projects go live How is it going with this? They're still working very hard on the Swarm CMS. Can't wait to see it go live, same for the team that's doing all the work. But it will take some more weeks they just told be. How is the project going? Is this project dead? No response here and no blog entries all year.

Has anyone used the Counterparty GUI? Is it safe? https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-guiIf I want to move a small amount of XCP out of my stash, is there any way to do so besides using the GUI or sweeping the entire thing into Counterwallet and sending the amount I don't want to move back to from where it came? I used to use the command line of counterpartyd to send some to counterwallet The problem with that is I think it requires running a full bitcoin node. Is there any way to send XCP without putting your private key online and without running a full bitcoin node?

"As for Symbiont, it hasn’t publicized which blockchain it plans to implement for its self-executing securities, or if it will develop its own blockchain, as is the case with one of the company's competitors." Man, are these guys going to use Counterparty or not?

Very cool. Do any of those allow me to send XCP without running a full bitcoin node?
Some like XCP Wallet (extension) for Chrome work entirely out of the browser. Has anyone used any of these to send XCP without running bitcoind or counterpartyd?

How can I trade equity of Factom Inc.?
no, you cannot trade equity in Factom Inc. because it is private equity. aka completely illiquid until after an IPO. What if the company never IPOs and is neither sold in a private transaction? Then you are stuck with a piece of paper proving your ownership of a piece of the company This has always been part of the deal, investors should have done their homework. Shouldn't the equity investors be entitled to a cut of the company's profits? What about selling your shares on something like Second Market? Are they transferrable? Is this a typical arrangement when investing in a private company? I'm not a Factom Inc investor but I'm trying to understand what was offered.
