Hello community We would like to give some update on the development and incoming release. DMD Diamond 3.0 (whitepaper https://bit.diamonds/DMD_WP_1.0.pdf ) is a very important update, a cornerstone of future releases and we want it to be done just perfectly. We have made several alpha builds that had been thoroughly tested and everything seems to work seamlessly, however, with each build we fine tune fundamental parameters of economic model of Diamond. This has to be tested extensively so you get a great looking wallet, the most user friendly PoS mechanics out there that just works out of the box fully automated and of course the best Masternode setup that is able to handle network duties and reward holders accordingly. In software development dates are your worst enemy; they can easily introduce mistakes, promote omitting stuff and using shortcuts, just to stick to an artificial deadline. We want none of that to happen that’s why the exact dates are never given; our aim can be nothing less than the best possible Masternode coin. The initial release was aimed for late August but it seems we need a few more weeks of work on it so the software can be expected mid-September. However, it’s important to note that DMD Diamond 2.0 has been running smoothly and with great stability for years so a few extra weeks of fine tuning and improving zero micromanagement Poof of Stake and other user convenience features are sure worth the wait. In August we will start inviting people to our Diamond 3.0 test network so that anyone who wants to try out the system and learn how to create Masternodes or see how automatic coin management behaves will be able to join in. People who are willing to write guides can apply for an invite – there are bounties available for your work!  Please do take all the time to polish and shine DMD 3.0 -- we do not want to have another DMD 2.102 fiasco That's why this decision was made. It's best to check everything attentively and carefully before publishing a version in which there may be errors. |

New to diamond...
So I downloaded diamondqt GUI wallet from OP and installed it, fully sync'd the blockchain, encrypted the wallet, and unlocked it. I was never given any private/public keys during the process though; how do I obtain these keys?
If you want to export your private key, then you should first completely (not only for mininng) unlock your wallet. After this go to the console and run the command: dumpprivkey <You DMD wallet adress> The quotes (<>) are unnecessary! and copy the received private key. But it's much more convenient and safer to keep a copy of the encrypted file wallet.dat. Just copy this file when your wallet is off and save it on a safe medium (USB removable disk or USB flash drive) To make sure that your copy of the wallet.dat file is fully functional, you can run a new DMD wallet with another location in the Diamond folder not C:\Users\user Name\AppData\Roaming\Diamond and put your copy of the file wallet.dat there. To quickly change the location of the Diamond folder, I recommend to use this description for convenience. If your copy is fully functional, then you will see in your new wallet your balance  To verify the correctness of the password in you backup wallet.dat file, just try to unlock your wallet in the mode "for mining only" P.s Added this question and answer to the page https://diamond-info.github.io/dmd_info.html |

So what happens when maaternodes are full? Will that mean pos and nodes generate same coins?
If you have 10k DMD then you can always choose in which mode your node will work. This can be either Masternode or POS minting (but not at the same time). The choice will be determined by the current award level for POS or MN. As you see the image above, MN will have an advantage in income before POS. If the number of active MNs in the network is 100, then you will receive an income of ~ 9 DMD per day (for one MN). There should be >100 MNs pretty quickly - within 6 months. So, at current market rates - $35,100 USD for 10,000 DMD should return ~$11,530 USD. That raises the "staking" for the DMD richlisters to almost 33%. I'm curious what/how the rest of DMD holders will benefit from DMD3? Right now, PoS for DMD2 is 25% for everyone (as specified without Reactor, StakeBoost, etc). I'm hoping that will NOT change significantly - otherwise the majority of DMD holders may decide to dump. We have big plans to launch several services for DMD in 2018. So this is not just a coin for wealthy people (although this statement is also true) |

Раз в году и палка стреляет ВМ запустят и все сразу захотят купить Нову. Её к тому времени введут на легальную российскую криптобиржу. Бальтазар будет везде ездить и лицом торговать, как Виталик, рекламировать свою разработку. Курс резко взлетит до 1000$. У меня как раз к тому времени будет скуплено по дешёвке 100к+ Новы. Раз в году, - количество новы в обращении будет только расти  Срочно продай квартиру, машину и почку и инвестируй в нову И что? Пусть растёт. Количество почти всех криптовалют растёт со временем. Для чего срочно продавать квартиру, машину и почку? Не вижу никакой срочной необходимости. Да и не для этого покупал, чтобы снова продавать и инвестировать в криптовалюты. А почка мне ещё пригодится. У меня с 2010 года ещё достаточно биткоинов осталось, чтобы инвестировать в Нову. Ну если вы хранили 7 лет кошелек с биткоинами и не оставили их на btc-e, то можно только позавидовать вашим убеждениям. По мне, так такой риск может быть оправдан (в текущей ситуации с btc-e), только если вы находитесь в прямом контакте с разработчиком или являетесь им  |

There is no merged mining with DMD. Yes, there are some differences in the mining between GSR and DMD (as well as differences in the technical specification). Although at first glance these coins have common Groestl algorithm |

Thank you all for the good reviews. It's just worth remembering that some names and file extensions are important. Outside the wallet, you can assign any names and extensions to your backups, but when you try to restore your coins from file, it must have an absolutely exact value and this is wallet.dat I will add this item to the list of questions and answers for the page https://diamond-info.github.io/dmd_info.html |

It is the correct .dat file but i had saved it as dmd2.dat does it make a difference if its not wallet.dat? but anyhow i had made a few backup's on some thumb drives so when the new wallet is released i will download the blockchain from the beginning with the old wallet in place. Your old - backup file (before changing to a new one) must necessarily have the name wallet and the .dat extension. Otherwise, you will not be able to make a replacement because every time the wallet checks for the file wallet.dat and in case of its absence creates it again (empty without coins) BOOM! Fixed it renamed it from dmd2.dat back to wallet.dat and it worked like a charm thanks a lot for your time and help and to everyone else trying to help me out. Excellent. last month I started my experience with PoS , the coin I got was Clam and invested it in JD so far it's really good as long as you know when is the best time to buy your capital
so most likely I will buy another PoS wallet , so I will keep my on this thread

I have not yet encountered good and detailed comparisons for different POS coins. I can only add that many developers when publishing on the start page of the specification, try in every possible way to hide the fact of unlimited for a particular coin. I believe that the value of any digital asset is determined by the absence of inflation and the maintenance of the total number of coins in the system at the declared level. Diamond managed to combine these two factors and in the future version of wallet 3.0 this new system will be realized. no worries if i cant get it to work i will wait for v 3.0 then try.
We have all repeatedly checked the -rescan and -reindex functions and they are working. I specifically described for you a method that does not require the creation of additional shortcuts and the use of the console. Just a normal replacement of files. In 99% of cases for beginners, by replacing files, you can solve this question without any problems. The main thing is that when replacing files, your wallet was off. |
