481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another ATH ( all time high) | Another Milestone | $24k BTC on: December 20, 2020, 12:26:36 PM
In philippine currency, the number of a single bitcoin is already a million pesos, never would have thought it would reach the milestone, I'm definitely proud and would love to work for earning BTC once again.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Books to read about Bitcoin and Blockchain on: December 15, 2020, 03:10:50 PM
If you are referring to physical books, there are tons of books about cryptocurrency and BTC on your local libraries, but if you want to be updated with each cryptocurrency, best advise would be to surf all over the web, I've read one book about cryptocurrency, mainly Bitcoin on our local school library, it contains the history and how Bitcoin works, I'm sure you'll get lots of different topics of books about cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, etc.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Southeast Asia? on: December 14, 2020, 01:30:55 AM
Bitcoin in SEA back then really wasn't something but Bitcoin right now is a thing almost all people are talking about, you can see it in several countries that often users in the forum are from Asia, whether it be from Philippines, India, Singapore, etc. What I found fascinating with this thread is that we've brought it up again and we can definitely see the huge difference of how few only people knew about Bitcoin back then and to compare it today wherein everyone is investing, doing trade, mining and etc. You can see the huge growth of BTC here in SEA and will definitely grow more in the future.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials’ impact on the future of digital assets. on: December 14, 2020, 01:24:05 AM
For future generations as well, not only with the so called "Millenials" will continue this path but also for the future ones as well, with the influence of cryptocurrency this big I think it's impossible that schools would not include such an important topic, even professors know that these cryptocurrencies are being all over the web and back then where it used to be something lowkey is now being actually used by almost everyone, It's actually a cycle and that if Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies won't shut down of course.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: has bitcoin achieved its goal? on: December 11, 2020, 02:20:35 AM
Bitcoin has accomplished a lot over the last few years and deserves a lot of credit for it but has not achieved its goal yet.  Bitcoin is set to achieve global protection whereby everyone will accept its use in terms of payment methods and apply it to their business and transactions.

Bitcoin does not have any kind of goal that would entirely make them stop to achieve more in the future, I honestly think that global protection would be one of their many goals in the future, and if we're talking about the future here then it's not a good factor for one business to settle for less when you could settle for more, Bitcoin is set to achieve milestones rather than goals, and I think that is also the objective of other cryptocurrencies.

487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Are there governments that are utilizing the technology of Blockchain & Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2020, 02:04:33 PM
It just came out of my curiosity, I know I can simply do a research for this but I think it's also good to talk about it here in this forum since I think we all came here to be educated and gain more knowledge about Bitcoin and other cryptos. Aside from Africa of course, What are the other governments that has aside from legalizing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are actually using the technology of Blockchain and Bitcoin to give their economy a bigger boost? I mean, it's a good idea to legalize it and give people the freedom but I haven't seen other governments on stepping up and making good use of crypto to actually boost the economy of their country.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spend or HODL Bitcoin during COVID-19? on: December 09, 2020, 01:40:00 PM
I'd heavily say both spend it and HODL some, it's been a strategy that every holder does, you'll never know if the price would go upwards, it has been a series of crazy ups and downs but having to split 50/50 on whatever your are holding right now is a gold idea, at least you get to buy all your necessities during this pandemic and also save up some for othwr expenses and then hold the remaining BTC for future purposes, we don't know when will the pandemic end so it's best to split it for the sake of upcoming price spikes in the future.

490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Covid19 effected bitcoin positive or negative? on: December 01, 2020, 05:46:15 PM
The pandemic didn't really affect Bitcoin negatively, it actually became a much bigger influence for people to try out the technology of Blockchain and decide to use Bitcoin and probably buy it, unlike real currency, cryptocurrencies weren't even bothered as people are using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to settle payments and sell, as far as I even know, I do think there's a huge increase of people that has started to take trading since the price of BTC gradually went up during this pandemic, it definitely gave Bitcoin the opportunity to take advantage from our current situation.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Being an Etherean on: November 30, 2020, 10:20:13 AM
May seem true, ETH 2.0 is indeed promising, although, in the near future, more and more kinds of crypto would come out and Ethereum should not only be compared with Bitcoin since different kinds of cryptocurrency are released every month with different views and different features and focus, BTC on the other hand has a huge value lead against Ethereum, it does look promising but we are yet to see if it can be as consistent as it can be right now, if it does, then it's good, I'm not gonna pick sides since I heavily use both ETH and BTC, let's just hope the best for the both  Grin
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce bitcoin who don't know.? on: November 30, 2020, 10:14:00 AM
There are many people who don't know about Bitcoin. I am not saying it by my opinion. I just made my first topic in which I asked about it. And many of us replied positive.

My First Topic.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5294677.0

Now I am going to suggest something and also want your opinion.

1. Blockchain should be the Elective or Compulsory subject at University level.
2. Traders and the people who know about the Bitcoin should held the Events monthly and yearly basis.
3. Youtubers should make simple videos to understand the bitcoin or Blockchain. In all countries and in all languages. ( That's mean there must be a youtuber from every country)

Waiting for your suggestions.

In my university, we discussed first a little background about Bitcoin then we went straight to the technology of Blockchain to furthermore understand how BTC really works and how important Blockchain technology is to cryptocurrencies, we tackled about smart contracts, e-wallets and how they work, how does fiat differ from cryptocurrency, and etc. all I can say is that having a smooth talk and an action plan would make Bitcoin easier to tackle, well, in terms of universities and schools, In my opinion, when you are to introduce Bitcoin to someone, you really do need to find the certain phrases that will get their attention and become much more curious.
493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding or Scalping ? what do you chose on: November 29, 2020, 03:00:01 PM
Scalping - resell (shares or tickets) at a large or quick profit. {Yes, I had to Google it, because it is not a word that is used

around here very often.}  Grin We are all a bunch of hoarders around here, because we believe that this technology would

still go to the Moon. It is not to say that some of us are not selling some coins when the price hits a record high price.  Cool

The secret is never to sell everything. You take some profits when it peak and you keep some on the side, until it hits

the mother of all peaks.  Wink

This strategy will most likely be used by a lot of people, Bitcoin is simply growing dramatically, we can never scalp (I honestly had to look at thread on what scalping is), whenever we see the price go up, you'll really have to save some and not just sell it all in one blow.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: November 29, 2020, 02:54:17 PM
Out of curiosity, do they hire Bitcoin enthusiasts or they get people from the tech department and ask them to research and teach about bitcoin?

Actually, my professor did invest in Bitcoin and tried to do mining, she did share her own experiences and from that I think she started to study more about Bitcoin and later on discovered Blockchain and its purpose, I think she'll be teaching this soon to her fellow professors for sure.

495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: November 29, 2020, 01:34:25 PM
You guys are lucky to have that on your curriculum in this time of year. But, I guess it would be more relevant If you tackle more on blockchain technology than cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. Because there's a lot of things or computer related projects you can make with the use of blockchain, not much about Bitcoin, but a digital currency and a tool for investment.
Nevertheless, that's a good curriculum anyway.

Actually, our subject is more lenient on the technology of Blockchain, I think they tried to tackle on the history of BTC first in order for the students to gain some idea on why Blockchain is involved with BTC, we also tackled other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Ripple, BCH, and more, we also tackled this semester the technology of Blockchain and how it works.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: November 29, 2020, 12:17:59 PM
I also decided to post it here because I think this is a big leap towards the future, from people doubting about Bitcoin and now, people are heavily relying on it, being informed, buying bitcoins, learning the ways on how to exactly earn bitcoins.
No doubt this is a big leap towards the future. Now students will have information about bitcoin and with this information they have processed it towards however they want. I just hope that they do not teach it in negative manner like this is a thread for current currency system and the current currency system is the system which needs to stay.

I little curiosity: Which institute is this and which country you are talking about.

Here in the Philippines, Bitcoin and Blockchain are 2 topics that aren't tackled that much around here, that's why, well, in my case, it really is a big leap considering a third world country like ours.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: November 29, 2020, 09:49:29 AM
I don't know if we're the same but in this school year (2020-2021) Bitcoin is now being introduced to our school, although it may not be introduced to other courses, since I am currently taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) hence, we are to take Bitcoin and the history of BTC. It's actually great that schools are putting Bitcoin to their curriculum, with that, I got to share my experience with Bitcoin, I got the chance to share my knowledge about the history of Bitcoin and how much I benefited from this.

I also decided to post it here because I think this is a big leap towards the future, from people doubting about Bitcoin and now, people are heavily relying on it, being informed, buying bitcoins, learning the ways on how to exactly earn bitcoins.

P.S - Okay, so for those who are asking on what country, type of school am I in, I currently live in the Philippines which is a third world country, a country that is not yet solidified when it comes to technology, and education that is not as advanced as it may seem, since we are focused on the main subjects, Bitcoin and the technology of Blockchain has unlikely entered, well, educationally speaking, but my school (a college institute) and probably many more has started off talking about Blockchain, there are no downsides to this since we are only talking about it and studying but they're not encouraging students just yet to become enthusiastic about Bitcoin, probably in the future.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is becoming legal in my country! Any business idea? on: May 27, 2020, 06:21:28 AM

Pick your cards :

* an accounting service
* ATM management
* brick and mortar boutique to sell ledgers/trezor, mining gear,
* same as above but online based
* set up a business that "settle" btc payment for small business, promote your services. ( ie, organise a plug-in for payement terminal) that liquidate BTC into your currencies, go and talk to coffee shops, barbers, auto repairs ...
* become a bitcoin "teacher", do seminars, coach people (maybe not from a financial point of view, just do it from a technological point of view)
* become an importer of BTC related products (Ballet wallet ?  coldkey ?)
* become a broker

Sky is the limit

These are great options to choose at if you'd ask me, I think the best way to widen the knowledge of people is becoming an enthusiast and influence BTC and cryptocurrency to the people, targeted students would probably aged 16 and above, it'd be essential and a great income for you as well, teaching BTC to them while benefiting at the same time, and thus, the economy will also rise since more and more people would recognize BTC's benefits and unlimited opportunities.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: May 27, 2020, 05:56:17 AM
Numerous people have tried but there really is no 100% true antidote for the virus, anyways, many businesses have went downhill, hopefully, every country will be able to outdone and flatten the curve before August hits, some third world countries are really suffering, the economy of the whole country will even worsen if the economy of these businesses will continue to go down.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Central Bank Admits It Can’t Ban Bitcoin on: May 27, 2020, 05:43:18 AM
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies produces tons of benefits to the people and to the economy itself, one thing I know for sure is that they can't ban BTC since it plays a big role in the economy, esp. with people making good use of these cryptocurrencies, they may not legalize BTC and the other cryptocurrencies but they will never ban them since it is definitely beneficial to the people of Russia and to the government as well.
