481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] There is NO Innovation. on: January 29, 2017, 09:46:33 AM
Banks would not be able to move "money" as well, so there's not much point in this thread, because the whole world will be screwed, not only Bitcoin or just some altcoin. Smiley

In think you sre the first Dev to add his ID. Unless there other I'm unaware of I think it might just be you. It is good to see people at least trying to be honest and open. Transparency is very important. Did doing this help with your coin at all ?

I'm not the only one and I'm not even the dev, but thanks for the kind words. Soon between 6 and 8 team members will reveal their identity + everything will be done a lot better (coin/code/wallet, website, thread etc..). Not sure if it will help, but we'll try. Wink

Heya,

I'm already in Brno. Need to take care about few things and we will be back on track. Smiley

Cheers,
Spartak

Hmmm... looks like less than 50k blocks are left until the next block reward halving. Current block is 1,429,024 and the reward halving should occur on 1,478,250 block.

so I guess we should go all in in this coin ??
Where should I send my money ?

You can currently buy only on EmpoEX, but there's only one buy order, which is basically nothing. Hopefully bigger exchanges will list it once we release the new wallet. We currently have exactly 25,619 likes on our Facebook page, yet we didn't promoted a single post there. This is a good start. You can try to buy some if you want to, but I wouldn't advice you to go all in.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't there Two Factor Authentication on Wallets? on: January 20, 2017, 01:33:02 PM
2FA on vTorrent was developed by VTR and FAILCoin developers. I can guarantee it is safe, because both are good guys. You can tell by VTR dev actions (no promises, hype etc.) and I'm working with FAIL dev for over 2 years now.

P.S. I once had like 320k VTR, but was forced to sell them too early.

Heya,

Yesterday I had a short conversation with our Lead developer Panoch. We should have some news before/on February 6, when we both have birthdays. Smiley I will travel to Brno, Czech Republic on January 25. Wish me luck. Wink

Cheers,
Spartak

Hey guys,

Just a quick update, because I haven't posted recently. Here's how our FB looks now:

Unfortunately, Facebook deleted our most viral video, otherwise imo we should have had more than 40,000 page likes, but that's ok. Smiley Good thing is that several people already offered their own videos and we're planning to award them with FAIL coins after our next release.

I've been pretty busy lately as I am about to relocate from Sofia, Bulgaria to Brno, Czech Republic. That would happen in about 10 days from now.

Cheers,
Spartak

I'm hoping to celebrate the first year with some real usage of this coin Smiley

Well, cryptocloudhosting has delayed, because Adam (the owner) liked cryptocompare.com very much and intends to use their API. All of the coins listed there must first agree though and so far most of them, but not all did it. It should be available any time soon.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARCO] AquariusCoin | scrypt PoW/PoS | NO premine | on: January 12, 2017, 11:40:29 AM
Why so much drama lol. It should be appreciated that pumpmyass dude is kindly agreed to list ur coin somewhere on his site.

Pumps are like cancer to coins.

There are some news, but Jure doesn't want to announce them yet. Smiley

What strange dump was this on yobit? It fell to less than 500 satoshi!

I was forced to sell 5500 coins, but I did not dumped the price (it had good buy orders on both YoBit and Cryptopia @ above 900 satoshi). Anything below 1500 satoshi is, imo, a good entry point.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / HackerGold (HKG) has a SERIOUS bug on: January 08, 2017, 01:51:02 PM
"Ether.Camp’s HKG Token Has A Bug And Needs To Be Reissued
Ether.Camp’s Hacker Gold Token (HKG) was found to have a bug in it. The bug is serious enough that the contract will need to be rewritten, and the tokens reissued.

According to Ether.Camp’s white paper, their Hacker Gold token (HKG) isn’t primarily a store of value, it acts more as a reputation marker. HKG tokens were issued during the incubation period of the Ether.Camp Hackathon competition and they allowed interested parties to buy other tokens of individual startups. However, it was just discovered that the HKG token’s contract code happens to have a bug in it.

The bug was only recently discovered by Zack Coburn, a developer whose main projects are Etherboost, a decentralized trading hub, and FirstBlood, an Ethereum eSports rewards platform. After getting in contact with Ether.Camp’s CEO & Founder Roman Mandeleil, Coburn was asked to submit a vulnerability report on GitHub, which can be viewed here (https://github.com/ether-camp/virtual-accelerator/issues/8).

The bug was found in the transferFrom() function of the HKG token contract. Exploiting this vulnerability would allow a bad actor to reset an account balance. This bug is significant enough to warrant a reissuing of HKG tokens after a fix is made. The entire vulnerability was made possible because of a minuscule snippet of code that read “=+” instead of “+=.” Vitalik Buterin himself chimed in on a reddit discussion about the bug, writing:

Quote
IMO this is a matter of language unintuitiveness; =+ should not be legal. I'll be checking Serpent and Viper for this. One way an FV checker could have prevented this though if it was standard for currencies to include an invariant that the total supply never changes.

In the vulnerability report, the recommended fix is to create a new HKG contract that corrects the bug, as well as restores all account balances to what they were before the bug reared its ugly head. Dapps that internally track the balances of HKG will need to be taken into account, while exchanges and token holders will also need to be notified about any new token contract. Because the flawed StandardToken code that initially created the HKG token was used to create all hack.ether.camp team tokens, those tokens are affected as well.

ETHNews reached out to Ether.Camp, but they declined to comment while work is underway to fix the flaw. We may expect to hear from them about this developing story in a few days.

Originally, Zeppelin had performed an audit of the HKG token code and found no severe security problems. This only serves to show how sneaky even the smallest bugs can be, even surviving a public code audit. Ultimately, this speaks to the importance of using proven code and performing rigorous tests when writing smart contracts.

The entire blockchain ecosystem suffers when situations like this reflect insecurities. Bugs are always going to plague computer code, but when found in such a fledgling field, they are scrutinized and can cause skepticism. To ensure the safety and reliability of any code written, it’s important to follow industry standard best practices. When Ethereum encounters a bug, investors may get nervous, but as developers continue learning from their mistakes and others’, the system as a whole becomes stronger and more resilient, leading to a more secure Ethernet ecosystem in the end.

Btw someone mentioned women's beauty. Here's the new Miss Helsinki 2017 (Sephora Ikalaba):

Nice, eh? That "thing" is 19 years old!

spartak_t I don't trust that FB metrics mean anything in terms of real outcomes.

Any real outcomes to report? E.g. sales, liquidity increases, etc.

And you're right - so far this doesn't mean anything. The real outcomes can be reported probably in few months (5-8) as we're still not ready with the currency. Working with your own funds and without 5k BTC ICOs could be difficult. Wink
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amanda B Johnson - fraud, scam enabler and paid shill for dash/darkcoin scam? on: January 07, 2017, 07:54:25 PM
I am a little bit interested in the marketing effect as a matter of interest in general in understanding our ecosystem demographics.

There you go:

Making people laugh is probably the best way to get their attention. When having enough users as a base, you can then tell them there is something called digital currencies. Smiley Bad thing is that Facebook deleted our most viral video, which had about 9.5 million views and the page likes stopped. We were getting like 3-4k new page likes every day, but it seems we must wait until some other video (or whatever) becomes viral. Smiley

I really fail to see how she is scamming anyone. She is being paid to advertise a product and everyone knows it. I am not a huge fan of alt-coins in general but do not see how dark/dash is any different than the rest of them. Some are pre-mined, some get insta-mined, some get ICOs...they are all the same...cash grabs.

I have no problems with Amanda B Johnson getting paid to promote products, in fact I think Dash is one of the few decent altcoin projects, my problem is when she started hating on bitcoin core and the blockstream developments, and then she started shilling bitcoin classic as a lot of people know. Getting paid to attack other projects is what I don't like, specially when it's crap like XT/Classic/BU or whatever is next.

Any link?

Oh my... this girl can be very annoying. Thanks for the info!

Why anyone who's YouTube channel has less than 800k views and with less than 3k Twitter followers should matter? Hundreds of Dash per month? Not to mention she hasn't posted video or tweet for like 6-8 months now. That's a marketing failure here.
