481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins and Blacklists on: May 13, 2021, 05:07:52 PM

Interesting topic.
Now, this is for tether, ok? Imagine when those very power will be used on future CBDCs.
Do you get the picture?
If CDBCs will take over the old money world our wealth will be wiped out with the click of a button.
Are we ready for that? I mean, are we ready to keep our financial freedom as hard as we can?
We got fooled by the very system we were trying to fight:  we started looking for easy profits guided by greed and we completely lost track of the big picture.
Bitcoin was here to liberate us and now it could be turned into our worst nightmare.
Makes sense?
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 13, 2021, 05:02:01 PM
Simeone's team made an aggressive start and after wasting some good initial chances were able to secure two goals which were defensed very hard since Sociedad played very well and was able to score only one goal at 83'.
Waiting for Real Madrid, the colchoneros are slowly getting near the title.

Inter supporters must be very upset because Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez could leave Inter due to financial issues.
On top of that, according to Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku has attracted interest from Man City and Chelsea, with Inter willing to listen to offers of €120 million for him.

Inter may have won the title, but financially speaking their are in hell!

Just a fresh post on his Facebook profile. Mark Zuckerberg posts that he named his goats Max & Bitcoin.

No need to login, that's the actual link from his post.
I have no Facebook and I can't see it.
On the other hand, what kind of names could I give to my animals, let's see: I could name the goat, Zuckerberg, the bull Michael, the cock Arthur, the donkey Elon, the chicken Vitalik and the cow Riccardo......

485  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: May 13, 2021, 04:47:20 PM
I only hope Michael Saylor will never go full-elon! We need more fellas like Michael who are in for the tech and the economics about Bitcoin!
I mean Elon pumped the worst shitcoin ever what good could we expect from him?
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla stops car purchases with Bitcoin on: May 13, 2021, 04:44:22 PM
Long term speaking I don't f******* care about what Elon says, nonetheless I'm very much pissed off by the the words of a guy who is clearly allowing a huge market manipulation which will go without consequences. The guys should shut up and avoid saying one thing today and another the day after.
I repeat, no concerns long term, for what it's worth he can sell everything the market will buy given the supply shortage.

'Doubling yearly' sounds good. I'm OK with that. Smiley
I think everyone is on the same page here.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way of long term holding on: May 12, 2021, 12:52:22 PM
Another protocol for you to follow, my suggestion or recommendation, is to not simply store in cold storage and forget about it for 10 years, unless you are incapacitated or unconscious, is to simply look up and research the current events and keep updated.

The core website, any of the major bitcoin / crypto news websites. To keep up with news about any soft forks, hard forks, new address formats, ... I mean, it would be a good idea to switch from legacy to nested segwit, or skip directly to native segwit... and in the future there might be a new format for taproot and schnorr as that is being proposed right now.

Once a year, review your coins, and study how to transfer them to a new address safely.

Ideally, you would be contributing to your stash often enough that you can include this as part of your strategy for long term holding.

There are people out there who buy for their retirement every month. Once a year isn't too much huh?

This is in addition to doing anything to make sure the wallets are indeed cold storage, the computers or hardware you use have an air gap and all the other stuff mentioned by everyone else.
Always good knowledge coming from you, if at least one noob will start dealing with bitcoin the right way after your post, you're to be thanked!
Buy, forget and store securely your bitcoin has long proven to be the most effective wealth advice for new bitcoin holders. I wish I'd have been given that advice in 2010

Some rumors on Garcia: his departure at the end of the season is not yet official, but Olympique Lyonnais have reportedly offered Roma coach Paulo Fonseca the chance to succeed him next season.

The 48-year-old Paulo Fonseca will be replaced by Jose Mourinho on the Roma bench next season. But if Portuguese sports daily Record is to be believed, the 48-year-old coach will not be out of work for long. Indeed, Jean-Michel Aulas and Juninho have reportedly contacted Paulo Fonseca directly, and the latter is currently considering a proposal from Olympique Lyonnais to replace Rudi Garcia.

Amazing Napoli yesterday! I watched the game live and it was real nice football. Udinese's goalkeeper was in very bad day yesterday.
Now I'm focusing on Inter Roma to place a single bet on a correct score: I think it's gonna end 1-1
491  Economy / Economics / Re: 3.9million users took part in the Elon Musk poll; What will be Tesla's decision? on: May 12, 2021, 12:38:15 PM
This is by far, and when I say by far I mean it, the most unbelievable thing I've ever witnessed in my crypto life! I don't know how this is gonna end... many people are gonna get hurt.
This is so altcoin P&Ds

Doing my daily look at the mempool and the damn thing is near empty. 1 sat fees are now being processed now, so a great time to make some transactions.

Curious about ETH strength of late, I take a look at their mempool. Full, massivily full, and has been since the start of this year. Of course high fees are the norm but I think what this also says is that there is a tonne of consistant demand out there on their network, BTC looks like a ghost town in comparison. Now I realise this is because their network is clogged up with all sorts of silly shit (and BTC hash has increased), but if this demand is maintained (and I'm sure no one here wants to hear this), we have to consider the very likely possibility that ETH will eventually beat out BTC for the number one spot.

Yes ETH is a centralized shitcoin and a mess in so many ways, but nobody seems to care about that. The attitude is "well they'll solve all those problems with future updates". Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Either way I don't think it matters. ETH has their network effect, just like BTC does, there will be no ETH killer, but with all the extra shit that is flooding their network as time goes on, how could it not beat BTC, the digital gold that everyone just hodls but doesn't do much else with.

I won't be investing in it, but also don't want to be disappointed when (if) it does unseat BTC. I don't think it will be able to take BTC place this cycle either, but next on, maybe.

I hope I am wrong.
I hope and think you are. Technically, Bitcoin is superior. Eth is a clusterfuck of gas, pre-mine and upcoming PoS (no, that doesn't mean piece of sh**, although it might be construed to). Bitcoin is getting taproot and rootstock. There are already the first attempts of sidechains for DeFi, for those who want to do that. Eth might get to 10k all right. I want to see where btc will be when/if that happens.

Honey badger really doesn't give AF.
I am not worried.
Eth will undergo massive problems with the London Hard Fork and miners could get angry if losing the multi billion dollar mining gains.
Good luck vitalik.
Bitcoin, doesn't care
493  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Most favorable country for the crypto market on: May 11, 2021, 12:50:19 PM
Most favorable country for the crypto market is no country  Grin
We should do like Binance does: no HQ no taxes...
There's a rumor that says that Binance employees are being paid in BNB pre-tax and then it's their responsibility to declare their earnings in their respective country.
Interesting uh?
494  Economy / Economics / Re: If we have crypto Why people still buy stocks? on: May 11, 2021, 12:44:09 PM
I have a small portfolio of stocks plus a few good ETFs. I'm heavily invested in BTC and that doesn't mean I can't diversify my earnings in other products. 90% of my wealth is in bitcoin anyway and I'm fine with it.
Still, I believe I can make good use of old world financial instruments and investments.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 11, 2021, 12:40:20 PM
Actually, to see the quality of a coach can not only be in a relatively short time. I think Juventus have just signed him (Andrea Pirlo) for some time. All the coaches have their own style and strategy.

Even the adaptation to become a coach of a team is very important. But it is too fast for Pirlo to train a team as big as Juventus, he should first familiarize himself with the lower Serie A teams or Serie B teams.

I believe he will become a good coach.
But as you say, he first had to have some experience with a smaller team. He practically finished the course and soon went to Juventus.

Juventus have signed, not because he is a good coach, but because he was a historic player for the club. At this time, they simply trusted the names they had, not the quality. And then, in order not to admit the mistakes made by the coach, still accuse the best player of the team, as he was not working well.

Unfortunately, this time they did everything wrong...
It's clear enough to me that not Andrea Pirlo, but Andrea Agnelli is the main problem here. He's no good Juventus if Juventus has to stay competitive. He should focus on his firm and forget about football, it's not for him.
Pirlo will need to work super hard to become a great coach and I think he should start again from a low-tier team.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 11, 2021, 12:37:34 PM
PSG, what a delusion! I must think you don't want to win Ligue 1 this year if this is the best you can do against a team like Rennes (no offence, dear Rennes supporters).
Lille now has a 3 points advantage that could mean winning the league! Only two games left, will they make it?

I had no idea how close it was! I just checked the last matches and even Monaco still has a chance (but need Lille and PSG to draw or lose, wow).

When was the last time Lille won the league, and it's strange PSG is struggling now, I thought they had all the best players plus Neymar now for the best times of his life.

1 more win for Lille, I think this is theirs:)
The last two games for Lille are very easy because neither Saint-Etienne nor Angers should create much of a problem for the leading team. The thing is that this is the end of the season and literally anything could happen; there are countless examples of teams that have lost the title at the very last game.
I think Lille will not have troubles winning the league but PSG and Monaco wait for only one misstep.
497  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: May 10, 2021, 08:17:11 AM
We are over 20% Taproot signaling blocks and I am not surprised seeing that one of the largest pool Binance is doing nothing so far with 0/113 blocks.  Roll Eyes

SatoshiLabs team wrote a nice article explaining how Taproot will benefit hardware wallets and it is easy to understand it even if you are not a tech expert.
Size of transactions with Taproot will be reduced resulting in more transactions per block, and it is especially important when there are higher number of inputs and outputs that will save a lot of time for something like coinjoin transactions and mixing coins.
For example if we have 100 inputs and two outputs time for transaction could be reduced up to 90%!
Multisig prvacy will also be much better with Taproot, but important thing is that more people need to use it if we want to have more benefits.
https://blog.trezor.io/how-taproot-will-benefit-hardware-wallets-fa43c0b6123e

Agreed. I have been watching this and assumed Sat Labs would be onboard big time.  I read through the website before coming here and I was going to post the same thing you did, LOL!
Shouldn't that apply to all wallets after taproot takes place? You know I'm no geek but I understood that those improvements are for, basically, any wallet. In the end, the functioning is the same for any wallet.
Great read BTW, it's always nice to stack more knowledge on the matter. (now i'm going to stack more sats. no pun intended)

It's official, Juventus is done! This was the season of the beast for the Old Italian Lady.
It's over, Agnelli has fu**ed up everything with the Super-league fiasco! Instead of focusing on the team he preferred playing big politics behind the scenes and that's the result.Well done Ac Milan
499  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla still an unprofitable automaker on: May 10, 2021, 08:07:33 AM
Even Elon Musk said he drives a Toyata Prius during his Saturday Night Live Opening (he was kidding, obviously).
I'd also not consider buying a Tesla, it is overpriced for my standards, there are far better options.
Another thing is I'd never buy full-electric, maybe hybrid or I'd stick to the old fashioned LPG.
