481  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin $20k mark on: January 23, 2018, 06:07:52 PM
Well the price of bitcoin is highly volatile right now fluctuating between $10,000 and $13,000, until this volatility dies down a little it is unlikely to see a steady uptrend. As the panic relating to the possible regulatory changes in china is forgotten, bitcoin will slowly begin its ascent back to, and possibly surpassing $20,000. I wouldn't expect this to happen within the next couple of months, as no good news is likely to come any time soon.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bigger dip to come? on: January 22, 2018, 12:38:30 PM
Do you guys think there will come a bigger dip than 2-3 days ago (in a short term)?
Probably this fall will last at least a week, so we can say that while it's time to buy, in order to see further growth in all meaningful coins. In general, you need not miss the moment.

Probably in the next couple of months it will happen. I think the price of bitcoin is a little bit of stable at this moment and I'm looking forward to see bitcoin on $16,000 dollars again before the end of january.  Grin

yup, a bigger dip is imminent, until bitcoin drops to $1000 Smiley
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-to-drop-as-low-as-1000-this-year-wall-street-cio-predicts

Oh look, a wall street nobody says Bitcoin will plummet again. How many times has this been said in the past? Maybe he has competing interests against bitcoin, or maybe he is spreading FUD in order to invest at the lower bracket.

The support level of $10,000 was breached only momentarily in the last crash, I highly doubt we'll see another big drop like that again, but instead expect some volatility between $10,000-$13,000, with it slowly climbing towards Q4 of 2018.
483  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing Supply Limit. on: January 22, 2018, 12:35:20 PM
The maximum number of bitcoins that will ever be in circulation is 20999999.9769, just shy of 21 million. This number cannot be changed in vanilla bitcoin, but may vary in derivative coins or forked coins. The number chosen was supposedly random for BTC, whereas other coins choose a number that has some meaning, such as pi, or the number of estimated ounces of Gold in the world.

484  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Questions on my future bitcoin casino project! on: January 21, 2018, 11:33:54 AM
1. Some countries do not require you to have a license when running a crypto-only casino, look at the following list to identify countries that haven't passed full legislation on crypto gambling - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

2. The legality of the casino would depend on your compliance with laws and regulations of the country you have registered the business in, and the country in which the casino is hosted.

3. It does not matter which type of domain you own, they're all treated equally, what matters is the kind of hosting you have, whether it is VPS, Dedicated server, cloud hosting etc, what OS it's running on, which control panel is installed (if any) and what language your script is coded in.

Watching this thread, as this information is also of interest to me.
486  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOT]Bittrex - Auto Trading and Order Monitoring Bot on: January 20, 2018, 10:51:08 PM
You do realize 0.01BTC per month is expensive? You can buy the much more established Gunbot for 0.06BTC for a lifetime license, and resellers often sell it for 0.03. In order to compete in this market you're going to need to massively reduce our price, at least until your have proven yourself against the competition.

We do not have any competition with Gunbot or another bots. Our system runs on our servers. So this is not downloadable application or bot. It runs on server. That means we CANNOT make offer for LIFE time. Because every month we pay server cost. Plus you misunderstood the price.
LITE : 0.005 BTC / Month
PRO : 0.0075 BTC / Month
PRO PLUS: Being developed.

You totally misunderstood about price. Also Gunbot or other cannot offer same services. You are free to try for 7 days you will understand what I mean. -> http://join.botbittrex.com

I understand, apologies for my previous message, I made a mistake.

Your price is more reasonable given that it's a hosted service, but I'd still say it's overpriced considering you can get a VPS for $10 a month.

Edit: I didn't make a mistake, your first post clearly says that the price is 0.01BTC per month. Maybe you should update that.

488  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New exchange wishes to get some advises. on: January 20, 2018, 01:14:09 PM
Well the most obvious way to attract users are the following;

1. Lower exchange fees (less than 0.25%)
2. Tiered exchange fees, e.g. 0.25% for low volume, 0.15% for mid volume and 0.1% for high volume
3. Be the first to accept new and promising coins
4. Excellent customer support, this is a major problem for most large exchanges as they take weeks to respond to often important messages.
5. Anonymous, simple registration

Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I have my wallet.dat from a backup but I can't remember my passphrase on: January 20, 2018, 01:08:57 PM
Can you provide us the possible combinations for each character, that will allow us to calculate the number of permutations possible, and hence the amount of time it would take to crack the password using BTCrecover and a known amount of computing power.

Alternatively, you can try Dave's wallet recovery service, or one of the other copycat services, but make sure they're reputable. Do not pay upfront.
490  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need free advice. on: January 19, 2018, 07:14:07 AM
In today's world, design is the key to success. Since you're just starting out, I highly doubt you'll have the funds to develop new patterning or materials for use. But in a fashion conscious world, a striking design can catch on, and sometimes become a must-have piece.

I would recommend hiring out a talented designer first, to create catchy illustrations and phrases, use high quality materials if you're going to charge a premium price, and offer some degree of customization to set yourself apart from the others, e.g. name stitching.

This market is highly saturated, so you'll need something stellar in order to stand out.
491  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is it fantastic project or not to create a human-mined bitcoin? on: January 19, 2018, 07:11:15 AM
I think if the action actually produced some sort of benefit for mankind, then this could be a good idea, as it would genuinely be paying people for a worthy contribution. However, nearly all repetitive tasks can be performed by a computer, so it will only be a matter of time until someone produces a script or software that can outperform the humans, and gain an advantage.

For instance, I think if there were a crypto that was provided only to those who volunteer their time at homeless shelters, food banks, environmental cleanup etc, then that would be a worthy goal. It would be unrealistic to implement however, but I do believe a system could be constructed given the right funding and guidance.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: needing some feedback on understanding localbitcoins USD per BTC on: January 19, 2018, 07:07:53 AM
Yes if you deal with a big amount the difference can be big (like +$1,000 while making a 1BTC deal in your example).
But when you think about it, it's just a 10% difference in the price. And of course, you can't expect to see people selling at the current price because, after all, they are there to make a profit Smiley

If it wasn't so easy to fraud with Paypal and people were more honest, it wouldn't be like this. Unfortunately, Paypal protects the buyers more than the sellers generally speaking.

Firstly, the risk of a chargeback when using Paypal to buy bitcoins is extremely high, I would say at least 20% of the time stolen/hacked Paypal accounts are used to purchase bitcoin, hence the vendor needs to increase their fees to cover the likelihood of a future chargeback.

Secondly, Paypal appear to be very much anti-crypto. If you open a dispute with Paypal after purchasing bitcoin, they will almost always side with the buyer, even though it is a digital item. Another problem for BTC sellers.

Lastly, Paypal has fees of over 3%, hence this needs to be added to the margin.
493  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to download wallet in external hard drive? on: January 19, 2018, 07:00:53 AM
I don't see any problem with storing your wallet files on an external hard drive, assuming you take the proper precautions when securing the drive itself. E.g. You can encrypt the files within a password protected archive, or simply use a password protected drive such as the following.

https://www.amazon.com/lepin-Military-AES-CBC-Encrypted-Advanced/dp/B06X6NP89Y/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1516345200&sr=8-11&keywords=password+thumb+drive

Of course, you could simply use a trezor or ledger hardware wallet.
494  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Some Lightning channels up on mainnet. Should this be encouraged? on: January 19, 2018, 06:57:48 AM
I would say this should be strongly discouraged whilst the LN is still in its developmental phases. If something goes wrong now, it could damage faith in the LN as a means of bitcoin scaling, which could either damage the reputation of bitcoin as a competitor to VISA, or allow bitcoin to be eclipsed by an altcoin which has scaled successfully. However, I do believe that those using the LN channels will likely be bitcoin veterans, so it is unlikely they'll get into it without prior knowledge of the risks.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ethereum be beat Bitcoin on: January 18, 2018, 04:48:51 PM
In my opinion, there is no reason to suggest that Ethereum will EVER beat bitcoin. Yes, gas prices are cheaper than BTC tx fees at the moment, but that's simply because ETH hasn't reached the number of transactions per day that Bitcoin has managed. Bitcoin is the first, and the first nearly always wins, that is evident by the fact that BTC is worth 10x as much as Ethereum.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bigger dip to come? on: January 18, 2018, 03:03:34 PM
I highly doubt there will be a bigger dip than what we've currently seen, as this was one of the largest crashes bitcoin has seen in its entire existence. The odds of an event like this happening twice in a short space of time is unlikely, so don't worry, HODL until we reach the moon, and then keeping hodling until we get to Mars.

On a more serious note, it is likely we'll see another crash when the results of the china ban are finalized, if they are negative, expect a crash, if positive, expect a boom.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Turning Bitcoin into ££££ on: January 18, 2018, 03:01:37 PM
Localbitcoins is easily the most known way, and probably the safest too as they act as an escrow for the funds. On Localbitcoins you will also see businesses that buy bitcoins for a regular amount, and you can often perform the transaction at their branch for your security.

Alternatively, check out the currency exchange section in the marketplace, you can typically find someone to do a cash transaction in the UK.
498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LOOKING FOR CRYPTO WRITERS on: January 18, 2018, 02:54:35 PM
I may be interested in writing for you, depending on the pay, I know a lot of these writing jobs try to pay a stupid amount, like $10 per 1000 words. Not sure how they find people willing to write for that much, they must be very low quality.

If you're actually paying a reasonable amount, and would like some high quality content, then send me a PM, and we'll work something out.
499  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How will Lightning Network be encouraged to use? on: January 18, 2018, 02:40:57 PM
Lightning network usage will be encouraged by user demand, companies will implement the lightning network when their competition starts to do so. Similar to preferring segwit transactions right now, you see some people will not trade with a company that doesn't implement segwit, thus if they want to survive in a competition environment they will utilize every edge they can get, bringing down theirs and the customers fee.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans bitcoin EVERY year on: January 17, 2018, 12:10:52 PM
Excellent post, people tend to forget all the times Bitcoin has been supposedly banned in the past.

It may very well be that these reports are simply used to crash the market, so that the high rolling investors can buy in low, release a statement saying that Bitcoin won't actually be banned, and then ride the wave as bitcoin again reaches a new high. Hopefully this turns out to be the same pattern, those who sell now are going to be mad when they actualize their losses, rather than waiting for their gains like a true HODLER.
