481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 05, 2024, 08:28:00 AM
I saw that Liverpool did not play as well as usual in this match. Even though previously they had also beaten Arsenal even without M. Salah in the FA Cup. But Arteta's troops really took revenge very well and managed to beat Liverpool in the right match, namely in the Premier League, which is much more important. It seems that the competition for the title this season is much more difficult than the previous season. Because it is possible that the top position will be swapped again with Arsenal or Manchester City in a few weeks. It depends on Liverpool's performance whether they can regain their advantage in the upcoming matches or not.
Indeed, in that match we could see that Liverpool experienced a decline in their defense and the attack they built was also not as good as usual. But I'm sure this isn't a serious drop in performance. Because in passing accuracy we can see that Liverpool is still much better than Arsenal. It's just that Liverpool's defense made several mistakes which allowed Arsenal to score quite easily.

But if Liverpool don't make mistakes at the back then I think this match could end in a draw.
There we are few things I predicted about Arsenal and Liverpool meeting over the weekend and those things actually played out. One of the things I predicted is that there was going to be a lot of goals in the match and it happened that up to 4 goals we are scored. Another thing I predicted was that Arsenal will surprisingly win Liverpool against what many people thought. If anyone had carefully watched Liverpool versus Chelsea they will understand that Liverpool performance dropped but it was not not noticed because Chelsea was a weak side and because they scored Chelsea a whooping four goals it now seem like Liverpool is in their right state.

In this season Chelsea is not a club that will be used to measure performance or standard of another club. Virtually any serious football team in the English Premier League can beat Chelsea even the ones occupying the bottom of the table. So the four goals victory against Chelsea deceived Liverpool and that was the reason they did not prepare very well like they were going to play Arsenal. They forgot that Arsenal has been the most informed English Premier League team right from last season. No matter who you are, you cannot play Arsenal casually without much preparation.
482  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 03, 2024, 10:32:09 AM
Scammers take advantage of unsuspecting individuals, especially newcomers just starting their crypto journey. I witnessed fake airdrops, impersonations, and fraudulent investment schemes there. Unfortunately, these scams often appear authentic, making it challenging for newcomers to distinguish between genuine opportunities and fraudulent activities. I have warned them and advising not to follow information on social media blindly and they should turn to reputable sources like here in this forum for education instead. This forum filters out misinformation and provides a safer learning and discussion space.
The scammers often target innocent newbies and after the newbies fall prey of their scam, it will give the newbies wrong mindset which is the reason they always say that Bitcoin is a scam. Since there's no promotion by Bitcoin itself, those scam projects and Ponzi schemeers use the name of bitcoin to decieve and scam newbies.

On the side of the newbies, they don't seem to listen to advice until they are victim of the scam. When you are advising them, it will look as if you want to prevent them from becoming overnight millionaires.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: February 03, 2024, 10:10:56 AM
Manchester United are so short of players this season that they cannot perform well without the right players. Of course, Manchester United needs a star while the defense is strong, but the attack is not so strong. So it definitely needs a star in the attack department.
Indeed, one of the causes of Manchester United's unstable performance this season is due to the large number of injured players, which has forced Erik Ten Hag to reshuffle the composition of players in the defense and midfield which ultimately damaged the team harmony that had been built. However, now several important players have started to return from injury and Manchester United's attack is starting to get stronger again, where when they beat Wolverhampton, Manchester United was able to score 4 goals. Therefore, if this positive trend can continue, then Manchester United will most likely finish in the top four of the EPL.
This is a problem that I saw so many times ago when Manchester United was seriously under performing. Many people saw it but they were unable to acknowledge that it was a cause of the poor performance of Manchester United. There is nothing much a coach can do when his first 11 is unavailable for almost more than half of a season, even when the team does not have a good depth.

In the Manchester United last match, we could see some kind of composure in the midfield because of the return of casemiro. Scoring much goals is not the problem, if the opposing will end up countering such goals by scoring theirs. If the defence is nice, even if the attack does not score much goals, the team will be fine.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: February 03, 2024, 10:01:35 AM
For real there are people who have money but no ideas to execute an investment plan.while some people have ideas but no money to execute there ideas both are very necessary in investing.then if you have both money and ideas the sky is your beginning point.
It is vice versa and at the same time, people have the idea and also the money. The issue of having money and no idea is rare because the rich are always full of ideas and that is why they keep getting money. You can not execute any idea without money you can not do anything without money the issue now is that things with money are even safer than does. And people have difficulty in investing in their ideas. You can not invest in an idea with money. and when you make an investment choice you have to do your finding before you end up spending money and not getting anything in return, the economy is getting worse. without critical analysis, you might end up being an investor.
Having a business idea is as good as having money to pursue the idea. Both money and idea compliment each other in the success of business are investment. But I personally regard idea above money. It is true that you can have money but there is no good business idea and it is also true that you can have a good idea but there is no money to fund your idea.

Among these two idea is the most important, because with a very good idea others can found your idea to make profit. How many people who has money and looking for where to invest it but there are no much people who has an idea on how to multiply the money. This is the reason idea supersedes capital.Yoj have Idea today but no money but you will keep refining the idea until money comes. But you might have money and idea won't come until you blow the money up.
485  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 03, 2024, 09:43:58 AM
If Satoshi was to come out of the darkness and into the light what would it matter?
Satoshi is not in darkness but rather in light. He sees more than most of us, he could also be involved in BTC more than most of us. He could also be in this forum but the advantage he has is that he won't be receiving countless and spam messages asking him some irrelevant questions. The government is not after him, so he is living the most peaceful life anyone can think.

If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it?
It's an easy and easiest problem for Satoshi to prove himself here.
1. Satoshi has an account here: https://bpip.org/Profile?p=Satoshi, By activating the account, 90% of people here already believe that it is Satoshi.
Only 50% will believe. The rest and including myself will say that theymos activated the account.

2. Satoshi has access to this Forum in all areas, with him deactivating certain discussion boards and moving, eliminating some of the topics here, everyone here already believes it is Satoshi.
3. By creating several new discussion boards, it will be even more certain that Satoshi is real.
These are things that theymos do. So, Satoshi doing them will not prove anything as we will still believe it's theymos that is doing them.

To me, what he needs to do are;
  • Reappear here
  • Sign a message with the known keys
  • Start sending bitcoin to random users in the forum from his known address

But then, all these will not happen.
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 03, 2024, 09:24:37 AM

I missed it, I thought the Nigeria-Ivory Coast final was possible. But on the other hand, if Nigeria defeats Ivory Coast first and then Congo in the final, it will not be the easiest path and a well-deserved championship.
Quite trickish, that many and including myself anticipated Nigeria - Ivory coast finals. This is because they seem to be the biggest names that has not exited the tournament. But it is unfortunate that these big names cannot meet in the finals, one has to bow for the other.

It is noteworthy that Nigeria had already beaten Ivory Coast in the group stage 1-0, and as I remember at major tournaments (I mean the final part) it rarely happens that one team beats the other two times in a row. So from this point of view, we must either wait for Mali to win or for Nigeria to lose in the semi-finals.
You have a very good insight here and unfortunately many doesn't see it that way. Considering the circumstances at which Ivory coast qualified from the group stage, I knew they will be deadly. That was why I said that the only country that can eliminate Senegal was Ivory coast and they did it and their strength was the group poor performance and the hosting power.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 12:29:35 PM
Anybody that thinks that supernatural powers don't exist is definitely deceiving themselves, they very much exist, but mostly in their realms, individuals have to seek them to manifest their powers, although I also believe that there are scammers who parade as spiritualists, but that doesn't mean that spiritism is a fiction. From my little understanding, I think that visiting a spiritualist to determine the exact accurate outcome of gambling will come down to engaging in money rituals, and it's mostly eye for an eye, so if the gambler considers the consequences, then it'll be wiser rely on the good old luck for gambling results.
I have been very calm, reading the replies of people in order to see anyone who has used such spiritual powers to determine the outcome of a gambling. I haven't seen anyone who has done that. But your comment seem very much in agreement with the possibility that such a thing will happen.

I know that spirituality is real but what I learnt from your comment is that, to be able to determine a result or know the outcome of a result through spiritual means, it will require a sacrifice and it is the nature of such sacrifice that will scare people from doing that. Even if your post is somewhat convincing, I don't seem to believe that anyone can know the outcome of a sports before it is played.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 01, 2024, 12:02:35 PM
As a result, the quarterfinal pairings turned out to be as random as possible:

Nigeria - Angola                  1.69 - 3.53 - 5.19

Congo - Guinea                   2.35 - 2.84 - 3.38

Mali - Ivory coast                3.68 - 2.88 - 2.21

Cape Verde - South Africa    2.69 - 2.86 - 2.84

We literally have one favorite, and the rest of the teams have a ~40% chance of winning at best. I think it makes sense to bet on a draw in all games except the first, the team, exhausted in the 1/8 finals, is unlikely to take much risk in games with equal opponents, especially when there are two steps left to the title. It might even be worth betting on the exact score 0-0 and 1-1.
It is true that big names like Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal are out of the tournament. The biggest names still available are Nigeria and Ivory coast. Apart from the two exceptional names, we can still agree that Mali and South Africa is also a big name and likewise Angola and Congo.

With the way this Nations cup is going, it will be wrong to place Nigeria as unopposed because anything can actually happen. Naturally, Nigeria and Ivory are likely going to the finals but with the surprises from the group stage in this year AFCON, it is obvious that more drama may likely happen in this stage of the tournament. So, nothing is too sure to say.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: February 01, 2024, 11:41:27 AM

There's one thing about leadership. Even when we have 20 equals in a community. Immediately one person is pronounced a leader, there's actually more power, authority, motivation given to such a leader that will differentiate him from his equals.

The picture above reminded me about a photo I saw on facebook where a question was raised about a better leader. According to the image above, the leader is the one at the from who takes all dangers first before it reaches the group.
How about this picture below

Who do you think is a better leader. The one who leads from the front or the one who protects from behind?
490  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is skill key to success! on: February 01, 2024, 11:16:15 AM
Success is not possible without skill.  Skills are important for success in life.  Each person in the society is skilled at different tasks.  Skill should be accompanied by patience and a hard-working mindset.  It is not enough to be good at a job, but to reflect that skill by working hard.  Moreover, many unskilled people are also in various good positions, this is also a kind of mental skill, although it sounds very funny.
When you say success is not possible without skills, it all depends on your definition of skills. If it is about professional skills, there are most rich people who has no no skill but became rich through smartness. But if your definition of skill is the maneuver for survival, we can say everyone such as skill as survival skills.

If is true that skills drive the word, you might be definitely one skill away from becoming wealthy who knows. There are alot of skills such as digital skills and more. Most skilful people do not lack money. But it doesn't take only skills to be successful, you need a touch of smartness. You have to be smart in order to apply your skill in a productive way.
491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: February 01, 2024, 11:05:58 AM
None of them. Because where I live we have employment issues. We have more candidates than jobs. That's why I prefer to be self employed. Also I don't like to be bossed around by someone. That's why I plan to set up my own business if I have to. We have a lot of farming land, so it's possible for us to farm corps or livestock. To be honest, I am trying to do that at this very moment. Only recently bought an incubator which I'm using to hatch chicken eggs. Let's see how far can I go. I think that, if one is capable enough, he can earn more just by farming rather than running after govt/private jobs.
It is not all bosses that are hash and if you have never been bossed over by any one, it will definitely be difficult for to become a boss. I do not mean that being a boss mean maltreating your subject or showing unnecessary superiority. There are good and kind bosses, and these are the people you will work with and kindly feel so comfortable. Although these kind of people are hard to find, especially in the third world countries.

In the civilized economy, extortion is not a priority. In as much as you are productive as an employee, you will get your due respect. Apart from that, proactive government makes laws that protect labour. So, in a country where things are organised, no one will boss you unnecessarily.

That being said, it is not a bad idea to be a boss of your own only if you have the capital, idea and experience to keep going. The government of a working country even has some good ways to support their citizens aspiring to be self employed.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 09:18:40 PM
Liverpool and Chelsea match really exciting with Liverpool delivering masterpiece performance and pressuring Chelsea consistently. They've had one goal for their stress. Game on, I hope Chelsea can respond accordingly, but their defensive play isn't giving much hope in that regard. This match has a lot of surprises to unfold, let's keep our fingers crossed. Enzo Fernandez its really frustrated this evening, he's already gotten a yellow card. I hope he doesn't land himself into more troubles in the future.
Despite the fact the Darwin Nunez was unable to convert a penalty kick which is supposed to place the Liverpool side at the invincible mood. Liverpool had enjoyed consistency throughout the first half as against the unstable Chelsea side. Chelsea which has been playing as if they have began to return to the good old days is unlucky to meet the side whose coach wants to give an English premier League title before leaving the club at the end of the season.

The first half is 2 goals to nil against Chelsea and I am not sure that the result will change in favour of Chelsea in this second half.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 08:00:24 PM
Aston Villa has currently become really inconsistent. So it is probably not going to be a good time for them.  Aston Villa was unable to win the last match and now if Tottenham wins the next match, there is a very good chance that Aston Villa is going to get put out from the top four. I actually don't know if everyone expected Aston Villa to perform really well and be very consistent. But I almost always thought they would become inconsistent at a certain time. Maybe this is the time. But there is also a chance that they will become consistent and perform well again.  But it is definitely going to be hard for them to climb back up again to the second position.
I don't think this is judging whether they are consistent or not because so far Aston Villa have succeeded in being in the top 4 at the top of the standings, which is quite a good achievement, and of course, when they lost the match yesterday, it was because the opponent they faced was Newcastle. As you can see, Aston Villa is not just silent against Newcastle; they have tried several ways because it seems that Aston Villa's ball control and accuracy are higher than those of Newcastle. Unfortunately, at that time, luck was not on Aston Villa's side.
There is one thing about every average club and English Premier League. It is not even only in English Premier League but also in all the leagues. An average club cannot continue to be in good form from the beginning of the season till the end of the season because they might lack the squad depth to maintain their stability throughout the season. This is the reason why at some point they will do better and at some other points they will drop in their form. Take Newcastle United for instance, they have seen their glory days and they are now in their down turn days and that is why they are struggling. This is obviously the same thing with Aston Villa, they have enjoyed the top flight for long and I think it is time for them to drop in their momentum because they do not possess that quality to remain at topmost performance from beginning of the season till the end just like Manchester City does. They should actually learn to be focused on a particular trophy in order to be successful this season.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 31, 2024, 07:39:10 PM
Seeing as almost all the favourite and strongest teams have been knocked out of the season, there should be a clearly unpredictable AFCON. If Nigeria are able to beat Angola in their game, all hope will be in Nigeria because it might be the only strong team left to participate, that is, if definitely they have the victory over Angola.

Compared to the countries that are currently in the quarterfinals, of course Nigeria is a strong team, but you also shouldn't forget Ivory Coast which also contains good players at the moment, I think if you look at the performance of the two existing teams of course Nigeria will be able to overcome Angola may be easy, but still Nigeria must be aware of the surprises that Angola might give later in the match, In terms of player quality, Nigeria is of course much better so this is profitable for Nigeria, besides that, as long as the African Cup is played from the group phase to the quarter-finals, I haven't seen Angola get a strong team at all and I think Angola journey to the quarter-finals is too easy compared to Nigeria.
I personally predict that in the final maybe we will see Nigeria and Ivory Coast meet.
In the recent ranking of FIFA will understand that the best countries in Africa that are at the top of the FIFA ranking have all exited the ongoing African Nations Cup. This is a very surprising thing to the African continent and also an indication that Africa has really grown above what they used to be in the past. The first indication was the success of some African countries in the world cup such as Morocco and Cameroon and others who did well by beating top countries of the world. Nigeria is obviously among the favourites to win this cup.

3 of our best players went for drug test and to be sincere with you I was surprised with this movement. Is it that CAF is looking for a way to make Nigeria lose our next game? Thank God V. Osimhen, Simon Moses and Troost-Ekong all tested negative and these are key players that we really need in this game against Angola, I don't know what they're planning against the Super Eagles. Another problem is our goalkeeper who was injured in our last game against Cameroon and I pray by tomorrow we'd hear a positive news, because I honestly don't want Uzoho to be in that goalpost 😁.
It is expected that anything that is doing extremely well will be checked for dope. It is not a league so those players have not been together with the confederation of African football authority so they need to be checked. If you are a players are being checked a lot it means that they have quality.

Can you please educate me on this because I booked class during my high school, I would have learnt about the rules of acronym formation. Help a brother.

What is the acronym for British Broadcasting Corporation ?
BBC

What is the acronym for International Business Machines ?
IBM

What is the acronym for British Petroleum ?
BP

What is the acronym for Kentucky Fried Chicken ?
Etc...
KFC

I think you now have the basics.
Yes sir.

Bitcointalk it's for "Bit Coin Talk" or Bi Tcoin Talk" ?
I want to know your logic if you answer the 2nd solution.
Bitcoin is a word, although formed from two words, but one word in the crypto lexicon. Bitcoin-talk could just be BT according to m2017, but...

And for the older among us, BTT has long been used for Bit TorrenT.

Any special relationship between Bit Torren T and Bitcoin?
496  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: January 31, 2024, 03:35:55 PM
Xx
  • BTCT
  • BTT
  • BCT
And I will go with the first option because the acronym of bitcoin is BTC. So, BiTCoinTalk should be BTCT.
A whole debate erupted over the choice of abbreviation. Smiley
I expected the debate because this is an open forum with diverse opinions. Moreso, there are alot of learned people who will like to make inputs in one way or the other.

BCT - probably, if we consider the rules for the formation of abbreviations, this version is the most accurate.
Can you please educate me on this because I bonked class during my high school, I would have learnt about the rules of acronym formation. Help a brother.

Let me add more fuel to the discussion to help it flare up better. Smiley Why is the option not being considered:
BT - BitcoinTalk, briefly and clearly.
Obviously, this is an added petrol but then I will like to say that BT is too simple and easy to write or memorize. We don't like cheap things in this forum  Grin

2. Do  not keep bitcoin in an exchange wallet: This is also important to be aware of. A lot of people only think that after protecting their seed phrases, their coins are secured.

There's alot of contradictions in your advice. It is either English words are failing you to express yourself or you do not understand so well what you are advising.
First, it will just be fine to say that I shouldn't keep my coins on exchanges and not exchange wallet.
Secondly, you said alot of people thinks after protecting their seed phrase, their coins are secured. How is this related to the exchanges under discussion. Exchanges do not issue seed phrases.
Also in number 1, you advise that we should keep safe oor seed phrase and in number 2, you went ahead to discourage us from number one. It all, I believe advise is gotten but I don't know if people will use it although.

I've run out of words to see Onana's level of behavior. Neither at MU nor in the Cameroon national team, he always did silly things that were detrimental to the team.
I think he has started star syndrome since his move from Inter to MU. Just imagine letting go of De Gea for a goalkeeper like Onana. Another fact is that Cameroon suffered defeat when Onana entered the starting eleven.
On the other hand, Inter Milan is enjoying a much better replacement for Onana, namely Yan Sommer. I don't know how long Onana will continue to do this stupid thing at MU, I hope ETH will rotate the goalkeeper position and try Altay Bayındır and reserve Onana for a while.
Now is definitely not the time to tender blames, rather there are more significant moment to make corrective paths on mistakes done. We should not tender our blames on Erik Ten Hag for signing André Onana from Inter Milan. First, he had good structure in Inter Milan were he made numerous saves that credited him to be one of the few African goalkeepers. But coming to Manchester United, the story have not been the same, alot of things change for the Cameroon international, he failed to make appearance and Aldo flopping at club level, Onana have conceded more goals than an estimated average player.
Onana has attracted many criticism in the recent time, ranging from his country Cameroon to his club Manchester United. It started from Manchester United before it got to the national team Cameroon. I have somewhat followed up the African Nations Cup and I do not think that I would have to blame on Onana for cameroonian national teams loss in the ongoing African Cup of Nations competition.

Even without anana and the goal post of cameroonian national team, they still lost and are officially out of the African Nations Cup. The only thing I am not confident about Manchester United goalkeeper is that he always make stories to be at the headline of the press knowing too well that the press, the media and even the Manchester United fans have not in love with him. He needed to be more reserved, calm and calculative but in the other words he is always at the headline. I just pray that is career should not continue in the decline lane that it has found itself.
