1482  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [CHARTS] Monthly Overview Of The Unofficial Nigeria Local Board📈 60 Members on: October 11, 2022, 07:24:24 PM
NB: There are 25+ newbies, but I don't consider them established members yet, which is why I left them out.

POLL ADDED! VOTE WISELY
I don't think you should ignore them even if they are newbie specifically If they make posts and also have activity, then you may need to add them in the member list. Your local board needs more members and more activity so I'm sure it will affect your chances of getting an official local board for Nigeria.
Nice observation, I believe subsequently OP will be able to add the newbies. This is not a kind of competition where rank matters or certain amount of merits. But if they are able to make a post or two within the given period of time under review, their names should appear and it will help to give theymos the accurate number of participants in Nigerian Board Thread.

I have also expressed support in the poll, it is because I believe that the growth of crypto in Nigeria will get better day by day. I hope that sooner or later Nigeria will get its local boards, so far 5 people have expressed support but of course the high activity of local boards with lots of users will make this wish more likely in the near future.
Thanks for your support and also some other good names I have seen supporting and advising us on the best ways to go.

Bad news for PSG fans because Messi is reported to be unable to play in the second match against Benfica tomorrow, he has a calf injury

PSG's front line is already dependent on messi, when facing reims (on ligue 1), it is clear that neymar and mbappe have not been compact and busy with their targets (to be the top scorer of ligue 1) respectively

PSG is at the top of Group H, but Benfica is not an easy team to beat

Why you pity PSG because of the absence of Messi, I really think that with good structural adjustments psg will be able to win their match against Benfica. They have good team and great individual players who can run inside the box and get a brilliant goal. Their matter is no giving me thoughts.

My concern and pity goes to Liverpool of England who will likely go 10 matches without their hottest young offensive player called Luiz Diaz and this time around, Liverpool is not playing in their best form. It will really be difficult for the club.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 10, 2022, 08:57:40 PM
As per Aubameyang, it'll take him 20+games before he scores five or six or seven goals for Chelsea, they should get a striker that those it week in week out. They should have gone for Erling Haaland when they actually moved for him.
And how many of such strikers are currently in the market, willing to leaving their current teams to join you, what you must understand is that every club wants a lethal striker that can bang in goals every week, but most times those strikers might not be available for purchase and the club then has to made do with the next best option. Aubameyang is not a bad striker imo, he gets a few goals every now and then, and he is definitely not in the level of Haaland, but like i said earlier, Haaland for example was never willing to join Chelsea or any other club other than City, thus the rejected teams have to move on till they scout someone of similar abilities.
Are you judging Aubameyang based on his past or his present performances? Aubameyang has played two matches for Chelsea fc in the matches he started, this is a good result and a nice stat. If Aubameyang is used well, he will get decent amount of goals than you expected. Especially now that Chelsea has Graham Potter who seems to understand how to use a striker than Tuchel.

According to Coyster, strikers are scarce to find, especially those super talented ones. That is why good strikers like Benzema and Lewandowski are still in demand even at their old age. It is because new good strikers are hard to get.

There's a rumor around that Mbappe is not happy with the position and role that Christophe Galtier is using him in, Mbappe has not come out to openly say this, but from some football articles and the striker's tweet he made and deleted some days ago, it is rumored that he is unhappy and he wants the coach to deploy him in a different role or position. I do not know if Mbappe is actually angry at the coach since he has not been so influential in psg's games this season except for a few of them, and he is now crying for a change. When Mbappe signed his new contract, we believe it came with some promises that has made Mbappe a strong figure in PSG, both on and off the pitch Cheesy Cheesy, if that be it, the coach may be getting the wrong man upset Tongue.

Mbappe might even be the reason of Galtier's departure from the team in the future.  Grin

Because since he signed that contract with enormous conditions, he has been like the owner of PSG. The board respect him so much and take his wishes into consideration directly. They really need to do this because they are responsible for this result at the same time. Mbappe knows how much valuable he is to the team now and he wants to use this to his advantage as much as possible. I don't know how healthy and long this relationship between Mbappe and the team can be. It feels like there will be a huge disagreement between them at one point and Mbappe can suddenly leave the team.

But I don't think that it would be in this season of course. Mbappe must be focused on the Champions League title now.

I don't think that  Christophier is using Mbappe out of position. If there is anyone to lament of position, it should be Messi or Neymar because both of them are sometimes drawn into the midfield any day the team is not playing 4-3-3c. Mbappe's position has been his position and he has been doing well there.

@Z-tight, I doubt that anyone can force Mbappe out of PSG, rather it will be the players that will leave for Mbappe. The young footballer has been made a king and it is rare for someone to leave kingship to where he will become ordinary player. The money is much, the honour is much, his ego is much, he cannot therefore leave all easily.

Aston Villa VS Nottingham Forest Match is currently underway..
The current score is: Aston Villa 1 - 1 Nottingham Fores. 40 minutes of playtime.

I am really not convinced that Aston Villa will be able to beat Nottingham Forest. If the arrival of Gerrard actually improved the performance of Aston Villa we would have seen it by now. I am going to give Aston Villa the benefit of the doubt that they might win this match only because they are playing against a team which is absolutely at the bottom of the table. And this is a very good chance for Aston Villa to get away from the relegation zone. But as I said I still highly doubt that they will be able to actually win this match.

I  am seeing the match and I can confirm that Aston Villa is not finding I easy in this match. They match is very really tough and with alot of pressure. Nottingham forest has understood the danger they will be when they lose this match and that is why they are playing as if their lives depend on this match.
The 2 goals of the match so far all came in the first half when Nigerian Dennis first netted within 15mins of the match. It didn't take so long before former Manchester United player - Young balanced the match with an equaliser.

Once again, don't invest in any cryptocurrency except Bitcoin

I think this advice is better, that's will make everyone understand which coins we need to avoid and which coin we need to invest. Although new projects has a high risk, but we can't deny if old project has a high risk too. We're just waiting for the old shitcoins project lose of their holders and the developer will abandon their old project to create fresh newly project that related with the current hype e.g. P2E, DEFI, Metaverse.
What about Ethereum? Can new ideas be built on Bitcoin? Don't get me wrong I also love Bitcoin but you saying that one should buy BTC only sucks, we are all here for the gains even if we love the tech behind blockchain, I made most of my ROI from alts not Bitcoin, your point is best for newbies who are just starting out with crypto.

You should not be uncomfortable with this statement Once again, don't invest in any cryptocurrency except Bitcoin,  if you accepted this statement Don't invest in brand new projects.

The first statement emphasised the high level of safety and security in bitcoin while the second statement emphasised the high level of risk and scam in new projects.
It is in your discretion to do what works best for you, meanwhile no one is seeing my portfolio and no one is even sure I am investing in anything. So, there is no big deal about it.

Not sure why it's happened, But I don't care about it anymore. I already faced this couple of times, and I didn't count it. It often happens to me, but not for long. It fixes within a minute. So, it's not a big problem for me. I am sure that's not only for me but for others facing this issue. So, I guess it's from the forum end. About DDoS attacks, I don't think every time it's DDoS. A Strong DDoS attack can down a website for a couple of hours. This has not happened with Bitcointalk for a long now.
I don't think this is a problem or it is rather a problem but I am not seeing it as a problem. There was when I used to experience this, but when it happens my only thought is that it's coming from my end, maybe because of the browser I use. What I do is to wait for a while, refresh the browser and proceed and the forum will continue working form me. Since I don't give attention to it whenever it happens, it never happened to be again for a very long time. I don't so much bother myself about the backend of this forum, I have the feeling that it is highly secured, I could also be wrong.

E get wetin I wan understand o. ASUU still dey strike for almost eight months now and fed don cari dem go court. That one nah to force them to come back work or wetin? You see me for this matter, I don hands off. If government wan carry ASUU go court make dem carry dem na. If dem don carry dem already, make dem carry dem dey go the place dem know...if government say dem don form new body called CONUA, dem done form na...

Every time we dey here ASUU and government do meeting and yet result no dey come, ASUU no dey gree, abi ASUU na juju wey person no dey beg?
Abeg who don see the report of any of the meetings between FG and ASUU make we know who dey fault. I don tire to dey side ASUU for this matter. E be like na time to support government be this make students return to school.
1491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is good leadership enough to fight corruption? on: October 06, 2022, 08:19:17 PM
Good leadership is not enough to fight corruption. They need honesty in carrying out their assigned tasks, especially when it comes to people. Every state official has been sworn not to break the rules, but because of their greedy nature, they break them and even try to gain more power.

If honesty is still not with them, the government will still be corrupt and try to control everything, even if it means they will hurt the people.

According to you, good leadership is not enough, leaders need honesty to fight corruption but they are not honest. They lie and they break the rules which they make. All the things you said are true, but when we talk about honesty, honesty is a key attribute of a good leader. If there is good leadership, that means there is honesty. If there is no honesty, it means the goodness is not upto the standard in this context. That is something I want to point out.
1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin CBDC on: October 06, 2022, 08:13:52 PM
I had several questions but can only remember one at the moment. When the government issues CBDC’s, how would you purchase BTC privately being that the CBDC’s will let them survail every transaction if they wish. Seems like a silly question being they can do the same through your bank but……
I believe that we should stop giving this thing called CBDC a pro by even talking about it like it will make much different than what is already obtainable in the traditional banking system. Even in locations like mine where the government of the day has stopped banking transactions directly from banks crypto traders have been buying through P2P and the same will be even if they (the government) were able to make everyone transact with the CBDC which is really don't seems to be patronized even in some countries that have launched it already.

CBDC is not to be disregarded for any reason. They are government backed and are even more powerful than cryptocurrency. They are powerful because they are widely adopted, they are legal tenders and also national reserve currency. Because we are crypto educated and know how to maneuver our ways does not mean everyone else outside there knows how to handle these situations.
There are people we recieve their salary in fiat and if CBDC is fully inplace, they Will start receiving salary in CBDC. What of people who pay import and export duties in airports and sea ports. The use of fiat is wide and so CBDC will be. It will not make sense for we to ignore CBDC because it is a rising technology birthed by cryptocurrency.

WHO IS ERLING HAALAND?

Erling Haaland is a young footballer from Norway for loves football  and goal scoring more than anything. Haaland is that player who doesn't have anything to prove again. He is totally unstoppable by any defence. Haaland does not only score in almost every match, but he also assists in also every match.
The world of football have been wondering who will replace Messi and Ronaldo, while we were looking at Neymar and Salah from no where Haaland came to the stage.

Now one sad thing is that we won't see him in the world Cup.

Haaland got 2 goals and 1 assist against Copenhagen before he was substituted.

For the City game against Copenhagen, I was expecting a hat trick from Haaland in the first half but unfortunately he got a brace in less than 40 minutes, it was yet again another beautiful performance from City and the goal made easy Haaland getting 2 goals after scoring a hat trick against Manchester United last weekend n the derby match, good game for City and a wonderful outing from the guys .

I was not comfortable with Pep's decision to substitute Haaland in the second half. I have the feeling that he has deprived him a hat-trick in the match. He shouldn't limit the guy,  not even now that he is on fire. I understand that Haaland is important to Manchester City team and that is why the substitute him to reserve him. It will also not make him not to be injured if injury wants to come. Some people even get injured during training. Guardiola should not make Haaland and fans feel bad. He is in competition with other scorers in Champions league, allow him to use the weak team to increase his goal tally.
1494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The sole difference is capital. on: October 05, 2022, 10:02:15 PM
When it comes to trading, capital makes the difference. For it hits me hard to know that same energy and technicality put in making about $500 is also synonymous to making a million dollars or more in trading.
If we look back to our series of successful trades most of us would have made tremendous profits running in millions if it was on a good capital start.

And I agree with myself that when it comes to trading, for good traders the difference in our profit making level is in the capital and not necessarily put on number of successful trades executed.
It boils down to say the difference is just capital.

All you said is nothing but the truth in the context of your topic. Capital is the biggest difference. The same effort you used to make $5 is the same someone trading with large capital will use to make $500. You that is trading with small capital will be at higher risk because the profit will not be encouraging to you and you will try to use higher leverage and in the process could blow your account.
Another thing is that when you enter trade with huge capital, only one entry could give you good profit. But with small capital, you will have several entries which will increase your risk of losing.
1495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My quick advice to my fellow newbies on: October 05, 2022, 09:24:45 PM
Very good advice from the OP. Everything is sounds well and educating but one thing I know is that newbies overlook these advice. They don't put it into consideration until they fall victim of one or two of the things you listed, they will now learn from experience.
Every newbie is expected to make some mistakes but the one who learn before trying to gain will make small amount of mistakes compared to the ones who came without learning.
Another important thing is to have a genuine mentor or guidance who will teach you the real and basics things as a newbie before you will begin to make your own decisions.

While now is a good time to invest in Bitcoin, we can't forget that there's always a chance for a surprise in the crypto market. As for me, I'm going to keep evaluating its price in the meantime.

Dude! Till when will you stop evaluating the price. When actually do you want to get in? Do you believe that bitcoin will get to $3,000? If you really want to invest in Bitcoin, this is the perfect time. If you are not sure you can be buying little by little with the dollar cost averaging method because you cannot know exactly where the bottom is. If you wait too much the market may reverse and start going up and you will then have to wait for a longer time or to jump into an already rising market which is very risky.

Who are/is the right people/person to teach financial education?

The parents or the government?

The parents you are asking to teach the financial education are they financially educated? Are they properly taught the principles of money? Parents cannot give what they do not have and government don't want everyone to be financially educated so that they can still have poor followers who will obey every of their rules and laws. This is why they hardly teach the financial education in schools.

Even the government doesn't know all the updates in the financial education. Many of us in this forum are more financially educated than many people outside who claim to be.

Wolves have sacked manager Bruno Lage as a result of a disappointing start to the season. I think he was well deservedly fired. What makes this man think he is going to get results by selling all his defenders? After losing four out of eight games this season, Wolves placed 18th with just six points.

Was it actually the coach that sold the defenders or the management? If the coach requested for sells of players, he must have also requested for players to buy him. If you end up selling the players and not buying, there would be deficiency.
I can say that the sack of Bruno Lage was surprised to me. I was even making gest of Rodgers that Liecester has already written his sack letter and was just waiting for him to lose or draw against Nottingham Forest. But he was very lucky to get a big win. Attention now on Nottingham coach for a possible next sack. We shouldn't be surprised to see it this coming week.
