481  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell? on: August 08, 2014, 02:16:02 PM
Sell?

Don't you mean "spend"?

That nuance seems to be lost a lot of the time.

482  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high will the next bubble go? on: August 08, 2014, 02:14:11 PM
$3k.

Sorry. That sucks, but that's where it will go on the next bubble. Give or take a bit. (2~5)

Professional literature would be useful though, I think most bitcoin users would help someone else get started but getting folks comfortable with how it works can be difficult (understatement of the year).

That probably would help. Offhand I'm thinking of a 2-fold, 6-panel, A4 sized pamphlet explaining the business and financial advantages of using Bitcoin. Something to appeal to the selfishness of the business.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Groceries PLEASE!!! on: July 17, 2014, 12:23:46 AM
I don't like the "middleman" idea.

I don't either, but I'm willing to support the companies that are building bridges now in the hopes that one day we won't need those bridges.

Good point. While it might be a bit of a sucky solution, it's still better than nothing.

Why do you want to buy food for BTC OP? It will have way higher value than your fiat and u'll reget it.

I'd like to continue buying bitcoins and use them. i.e. Cycle my purchasing power through Bitcoin instead of fiat.

And...

Why do you want to buy food for BTC OP? It will have way higher value than your fiat and u'll reget it.

If we all stockpile on bitcoins and nobody uses them , their value will be 0 in a matter of months.

That.

A lot of my spending is on simple things - food & gas, etc. By buying more bitcoins and using them to purchase food, I can contribute to the Bitcoin economy in a much more meaningful way. Instead, I'm pretty much stuck in a fiat economy with few options. There are few opportunities at the moment for me to spend. Groceries is a large expense, and one that I would particularly love to spend bitcoins on. Everybody eats, every day. Imagine the boost to the BTC economy if we could buy food with it. Electronics & online services & charity & remittance are all great and wonderful, but I'm hungry. Smiley

485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Groceries PLEASE!!! on: July 16, 2014, 04:51:23 PM
But what I really want is to buy some ginger, and apples, and milk, and bread and FOOD with bitcoins.

Do you have a Target store with fresh groceries near you? You can use Bitcoin at Gyft to purchase a Target gift card.

It's not what I would consider optimal (local grocer accepting Bitcoin directly), but it's a start.

I don't like the "middleman" idea. I want to pay direct. Gyft cards just don't work for me. I want to have my grocery bill on the blockchain.

You can buy food for BTC here!

Look at this thread if you are hungry...

Hahahah! Cute! Smiley
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Groceries PLEASE!!! on: July 16, 2014, 04:45:29 PM
I think the closest thing to that right now is buying those Gyft cards and then using those to buy groceries

I really just want to pay straight up in BTC. I want to use my wallet on my mobile device to pay. Cards just don't work for me.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Groceries PLEASE!!! on: July 16, 2014, 04:31:39 PM
im sorry, but arnt YOU the closest person that lives near YOUR grocery store, ..

.. may i suggest YOU talk to YOUR local grocery store to accept bitcoins. as im pretty sure no on else wil travel all th way to YOUR town to talk to YOUR local grocer..

if YOU want a grocery store near YOU to accept bitcoins, then its kind of obvious that YOU need to help YOURSELF to make things in YOUR town change. YOU live there after all..

i am bringing change to my town. so dont sit there and whing on a forum. instead ask for the best way to introduce it, the bst way to get your grocer to accept it. and dont just hope someone else will change your town while you sit on your sofa. get involved, be the change that you want

You're just being a fucking asshole. Shouldn't you be over in /r/Bitcoin instead?

Of course I've talked to the local grocer! Stop being a fucking asswipe. Oh fuck.. I just don't know why I even bother sometimes. Some Bitcoiners are just such cunts sometimes. You're a great example. Please fuck off and stop being a total jackass. I fucking hate people like you. Fuck off and stop being such a douche. Bitcoin doesn't need you constant "hey! let's fucking shit on everyone all the time every chance we get" nonsense.
489  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: French regulators to limit Bitcoin anonymity on: July 16, 2014, 04:13:59 PM
Just ignore France. Worst country in Europe by far.

I still think Spain might present some decent competition there... Wink
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Groceries PLEASE!!! on: July 16, 2014, 04:08:02 PM
I just want to pay for my groceries in bitcoins.

Well, I want to pay for everything in bitcoins, but groceries first. That's what I want. Just food. Something to eat. Not very hard.

The last time I bought a beer at a bar, I paid in bitcoins.

The last time I bought food at a restaurant, I paid in bitcoins.

I simply will not drink at a bar that doesn't accept Bitcoin and I won't eat at a restaurant that doesn't accept Bitcoin anymore. Those days are over for me.

But what I really want is to buy some ginger, and apples, and milk, and bread and FOOD with bitcoins.

Please... please... please...

I just want to eat at HOME with Bitcoin.

If you're reading this, and if you're in a decision making position at a grocery store, you will earn my loyalty by accepting Bitcoin.

491  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: French regulators to limit Bitcoin anonymity on: July 16, 2014, 03:45:07 PM
Holy fuck... Do the French still not understand why the Anglophone world makes jokes about them? This is why.

YOU CANNOT REGULATE BITCOIN.

You cannot regulate software. It's pretty simple.

I think that they're just trying to compete for the world championship of idiocy against the Spanish for taxing the sun.

Just amazing. Stunning. The French come out yet once again to demonstrate that they can be more idiotic than anyone...

Actually, I'm not sure... I think the Spanish laws about taxing the sun still beat out the French idiocy... But that's just me. Score yet one more failure for France. Tongue

FTFY

I'd bet that there are some pretty sore and angry people out there that are just waiting to see what happens with the whole fiasco, and that are willing to mete out street justice.

I don't think he has more than a couple years of life left in him.

Quite honestly, I'm a bit surprised that he's still walking around. I guess that there's quite a bit that I don't know, because it all just doesn't make sense to me.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much BTC do you need to be in the Top 100? 1,000? 10,000? 100,000? on: July 16, 2014, 02:40:05 PM
Top 1: 151,497 BTC ($93,074,379 USD)

So many memorable moments!

Is this something to caption for Ayracoin? Wink

Wow!
It's funny how at same time compiling c++,thinking about all farms ready at launch to get instamine(that's watching silently with theyr thousands of r9 ready to blame),thinking all multiple user that apply signature with same post numbers to get free ARYA,contacting some majors exchange that answer that there are 3 way to include a coin in exchange(1 is vote for free,1 is pay for a vote,1 is give a huge amount of btc to bypass all voting system),sometimes you focus only on the dev who's trying to make the entire coin work properly.  Wink

I gotta say, that's one HELL of a caption! Cheesy But, part of the point to a caption is to not need a tl;dr. Smiley

But really, a GoT coin? Ya gotta expect some of this kind of silliness! Cheesy

The original idea was to call it the "faceless coin",like:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/1172/

You have to know how many PM and mails we get from pool and some minor exchange saying:
"Hey, we're interesting to get ARYAcoin at launch. Please provide us the GTHUB and WALLET as soon as you can, so we are ready!"

Resulting in instamine! And no block founds.

That's why GTHUB and WALLET have to been release some minutes before launch.  Wink

Faceless coin would TOTALLY be like this:

Grin

But, it does sound like a fun coin. Count me in. Changed my sig! Smiley

Could you post a count down counter on in the OP for people to monitor?
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any free ways to anonimize your bitcoins? on: June 10, 2014, 12:11:06 PM
You can also buy an altcoin on one exchange, send the alt to another exchange, then convert back to bitcoin.

^^ This.
