With the 270s, you have to use the newer Catalyst driver packs and those newer packs simply do not work well with more than 5 cards, unfortunately. I know this because i've got 2 5 card 270 rigs that i had planned to make 6.
On both 270 crates, i tried getting 6 up in Win8.1 x64 with the H81 Pro BTC mining board and could not get the 6th card to actually work. The board / drivers would recognize the 6th card, but error 43 out. Older driver packs refused to recognize the cards, and the newer Cat. drivers (13.11 betas / 13.12 / 14.1 betas) would not erase the error 43, no matter what i tried. Uninstalling / manually reinstalling the 6th card selectivly didn't work out either.
All in all, it was a pain in the tail. I've seen people who get 6 cards up with the latest drivers, but they are using *nix / BAMT etc.

Well, you can blame your beloved foundation and their long history of not addressing vulnerabilities until they have been exploited.
+1. Perhaps all of this mess will either 1) get the Foundation off their tails to be more vocal about protocol issues / fixes 2) get the Foundation to implement an actual PR operation that addresses protocol issues / fixes.

There honestly should be no pointing of fingers.
Gox certainly (being the oldest exchange) should have been the first exchange to implement their own secondary txid verification measures, but i am quite sure (most) all the exchanges have failed to provide adequate security measures against this issue.
In a sense, Gox was merely the trigger for a situation that had to happen: Malleability has to be mitigated from the core code because this issue is not going away until the protocol is hardened against exploitation of this type.
I am glad it happened now as opposed to when the btc network is worth trillions.

There is at least 1 1ghs+ GPU (and soon gridseed) farm in china that we know of.
May be him/her/it/the borg.
With 290s, nothing is impossible.

All of the old world institutions that worship John Maynard Keynes will be shamed. We need to amass an army of commenters at the bottom of every single article like this one to refute such foolishness with facts and history about the bitcoin network's resiliency rating. The BTC train has already left the building. Get on or get flattened.

This type of stuff must and will happen. Sucks for the people who have their coins in Gox, and nothing can be done to alleviate that feeling or loss.
BTC has never been stress-tested in the public eye in its history ever before like this, and thus this situation is nothing more than an excellent PR opportunity for the BTC community to demonstrate the innate resiliency of the network as a whole.

+1 for the 270s. The 7950s are good performance / watt, but the 270s are even better..
They work very well with the 13.11 Beta / 13.12 drivers. Had virtually no issues setting up 2 5 card boxes.
One box has all MSI 270s, the other box has Asus 270s and all 10 cards are doing 475-480ks on SGMiner 4.0.0 in Win8.1 x64.
Which models are your cards? Are they 270s or 270xs? Here are my 270s: MSI R9 270 GAMING 2GASUS R9270-DC2OC-2GD5

>.> There is gonna be some serious monday morning quarterbacking by all the idiot talking heads in the media. That being said, hopefully this little bump slows people from buying GPUs.

Can we just seriously take Gox out back and administer the coup de grace?
They have been instrumental in causing instability for years now.

I do not think the cards in the OP are BF4 Eds.
I can't provide anything about the ram as i have since sold these cards off for 270s.
270s make quite a bit more sense in terms of performance / watt!

Have you tried using the --gpu-powertune 20 flag?
20 being full throttle.

These MSI cards may be special. They do use Samsung ram, and not elpida or hynix. There's a good chance the MSI card bios may having tigher memory timings etc which allow higher hashrates. The only other 280xs i know of that hit this high are those Sapphire Toxic 280xs. I would be highly interested in knowing what brand of ram they use.
