No fork for edollar??

If roadmap is respected, this is gonna be a very nice project.

It's pretty obvious that neither of you have read this page of the thread.

Good idea with bad consequences! In my opinion it is a system of sigrigation. Those who used to be on the forum protected themselves and their earnings from the applicants. Because there is no system of independent definition of the charge MERIT. Everything is subjective and comes from those who MERIT owns them. Beginners in their circle can not get!

Yes, merit is a system of segregation - the shitposters are segregated from those who can string together a useful post.

And FYI - I started with 0 merits, same as you.

There already is a Musicoin, so either you are a dumbass or a fraud... or, actually, no reason why you can't be both.

Supposedly, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but it just annoys the hell out of me:

I got this information from the telegram group:
Quote
Edollar is a project based on cryptonight. After a few months the main developer stopped working on EDL due to health problems. Now, two collaborators are developing a different coin, CLH for ClashCoin, and annouced that will accept EDL on a 50K EDL to 1 CLH ratio as soon as they finish the CLH platform. Anyway, EDL is still listed and tradeable on Stocks.exchange and Graviex.

That's a brutal conversion rate: I'll end up with just 2.25 CLH. Any info on the total coin supply, as I imagine it must be a lot lower than EDL's ~7B?

Which reminded me of that most infamous of Nigerian hardworkers, @gidiara:

Sorry for my prediction: 0 miners of EDS in august. New refined prediction: 0 miners in May. Now hashrate only 886.85 KH/sec.
Hardworker from Nigeria only copy code, rename to EDC and wait...

I left some feedback...

So you did...  Grin

My work here is done!

528  Other / Meta / Re: Possible Ponzi/Pyramid Scheme - Was going to report to mods, but... on: June 13, 2018, 06:51:31 PM
Yeah, it's an obvious Ponzi scheme, but that sort of thing isn't moderated here in case you weren't aware.  Scammers are free to scam here--they won't get banned, but they usually get tagged by DT members if any of them are looking.

That was my interpretation, too, but this seemed so outrageous I wanted another opinion.

I think I'll provide a link to the HoweyCoins ICO and see if any of those dumbasses pick up on the [probably too subtle] hint.

529  Other / Meta / Possible Ponzi/Pyramid Scheme - Was going to report to mods, but... on: June 13, 2018, 05:53:46 PM
...I thought I'd post about it here first, because I usually just report plagiarism and the more egregious spammers/shitposters and wanted to get the opinion of the more seasoned members here on whether this should be filed under: "distasteful, but tolerable" or "insta-ban"?

So the thread in question: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2460570.0

And a quote from the thread for those too lazy to click on it (like I normally am, hence my accommodation here):

...
Unlike of other lending programs you can lend not only USD, but EUR, BTC, ETH and LTC in Mercury Global lending platform. You will receive up to 1.15% daily return during every 300 days in each of these cryptocurrencies. Reinvestments increases your income exponentially. Compound calculator http://compoundaily.com. Lending of eCurrency (ECR) also will be soon.
...

So, basically promising an outrageous 300% return IF you keep your "investment" locked up for 300 days. What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO: DAG + Cryptonote + Bulletproofs + SSL + POW + Smart Contracts on: June 13, 2018, 05:38:17 PM
Hello Serena, can you please help me with this questions.

1.- Why do we have to put L3 cache dividded by two to mine?
2.- What are the links to the forum of dero where DEV pass more time, and what tipy of discusions are there?

Thanks

1. The original CryptoNight PoW algo uses a 2MB scratchpad buffer which is invariably placed in the L3 cache of the CPU; the new Atlantis PoW algo appears to follow that one requirement (perhaps not much else), hence why the maximum number of threads (concurrent instances, so to speak) should be less than or equal to the L3 cache divided by two.

2. The devs are very active on their Slack channel. See first post for link. The discussions are mostly highly technical in nature.

531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Started][AirDrop#3 - 25th March] - Electronic Dollar(eDollar) on: June 13, 2018, 04:07:58 PM
The discord channel is fairly active and from what I can tell it looks like the following is in motion or going to occur:

1. a majority on discord chose to fork the existing coin to a new blockchain.
2. the new dev is struggling to make that happen
3. at some point we will have a narrow window to exchange our existing EDL coins for the new coin

So not totally dead, no, but definitely stuck in the proverbial mud.

532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: June 13, 2018, 01:05:52 PM
Just imagine the effect of ASIC's in some next days. The difficulty will rise so much that it will be difficult for small miners to sustain.

Did you hear of ASIC availability for CryptoniteV7 algorithm?

I think that's Just Another Shitposter spamming for his sig campaign...
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR-stak-JK 2.4.4 Compiled with no devfee on: June 13, 2018, 09:30:38 AM
Mining loki here - How to active Double Threads for RX 580 8gb? Thanks for the miner

You simply duplicate the lines starting with { "index" in the amd.txt file like this:

Code:
"gpu_threads_conf" : [
  // gpu: Ellesmere memory:3712
  // compute units: 32
  { "index" : 0, "intensity" : 848, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true },
  { "index" : 0, "intensity" : 848, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 2, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true },
],

This is for a single RX 570 (4GB) because that's what I have.

The easiest way to do this is to let xmr-stak generate the amd.txt file automatically (which it will do the first time it is run) then edit that file to double up on the index lines. You will likely have to adjust the intensity value to get the best hashrate and stop it from crashing, but the other parameters should be the same as shown above (the default choices for strided_index and mem_chunk may not be ideal).

NB - I'm still running 2.4.2.

534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: June 12, 2018, 09:47:05 PM
1 KW from a 4-battery series connect of car-type or standard lead-acid deep cycle batteries is a fairly low load - car batteries in particular are rated for "reserve capacity" in minutes at a 25 amp draw.
It would also be not bad for a 2-battery series setup at 24 amps, well within the rated capacity of the batteries though you might see a small reduction in the "rated" amp-hour capacity.

Not even close to the typical 500 VA UPS that runs from a single 12V 7AH gel cell (and DOES show a massive reduction in battery capacity due to the very heavy draw).

Yeah, a 48V pack comprised of 4 automotive SLI batteries in series is a reasonable solution, especially if only a few minutes of operation per day on average is required (that Peukert effect is a real bitch, and shows up even at 0.25C draw). Again, this is just for providing a bit of tolerance to the occasional passing cloud or, perhaps, thunderstorm; not to continue mining all night long.

535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: June 12, 2018, 04:29:22 PM

Meanwhile bitmain and its ASICs will happily harvest Zencash unfairly....
This is corroiding zenchash nowadays unfortunatly....

yup, even after the Asics for SIA, XMR and ETH, the ZEN devs managed to not be ready. Hilarious ...
I think you are exaggerating now.

Please read this:
https://blog.zencash.com/mandatory-upgrade-zen-2-0-14-super-nodes/

While I am still mining ZEN and haven't sold any (for now), I have to agree with @CryptoWaffle here that every coin with so-called "ASIC resistance" had ample warning said resistance might not be as assured as once thought, especially after ASICs were released for both Ethash and CryptoNight.

So when I read something like this from the above blog:

Quote
Zen 2.0.14 is the update previously planned before the Equihash ASIC announcement and blockchain attack events. The time frame to include any new changes was too short to address these issues.

I think the dev is either lazy or deluded or incompetent.

Of course, the real threat to network security is arguably NiceHash, where it is possible to rent enough hashpower to execute a 51% attack on the smaller coins that use a common algo. Since NiceHash is unlikely to go away any time soon, and their location in Slovenia makes them all but untouchable, prudent coin devs should be figuring out how to mitigate such an attack vector now, rather than waiting for it to happen... Again.

536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MUSICOIN] Musicoin Project Releases Roadmap 2.0 🎸 on: June 12, 2018, 01:26:05 PM
You are 100% right and the only option now is more adoption of the coin but to see more adoption
Dev team have to do something some incentive that calls investors attention

Doing more bounties and airdrops or paying exorbitant fees to get listed on another exchange will not magically boost the price of a coin. What is needed specifically for Musicoin is what is already happening:

OP updated with new artist of the week and news regarding our new 3x Platinum artist Smiley

Then watch the network effect take over: as more artists decide Musicoin is a good idea even more artists will agree, etc. and so on.

Hello people good night. From my understading,
It seems that the mining Will ONLY be from
Cpu now. I AM correct or some rx570 Will work?
I love This project, but unfortenely i am really bad in
Computer stuuf. Really really bad.
Sorry for all caps and my bad English

You need to have some knowledge of "computer stuff" to mine crypto; no way around it, I'm afraid.

At least in the very beginning DERO Atlantis will only be mineable with a CPU using the official wallet daemon. I wrote a post a couple pages back that people have been brazenly plagiarizing on how to mine with the daemon in Windows so go read that... several times if you have to. It's really not that difficult.

538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO: DAG + Cryptonote + Bulletproofs + SSL + POW + Smart Contracts on: June 11, 2018, 03:01:23 PM
If its converted, does that mean there is 2 dero chains then, rather than the single. SO in essence, 2 Dero coins ?

No, it means the old PoW algo will stop working. The coins from the old chain can be converted to the new chain, but once the algo changes no new blocks will be added to the old chain.

In other words, existing mining software and ASICs will stop working.

My understanding - though this has not been confirmed or denied by the DERO team - is that only the wallet daemon will be usable to mine on the new algo at first.

539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: June 11, 2018, 12:40:23 PM
@Phil to your solar idea, i think most time you would "only" get 90% of your max solar watt/panel. And if it drops because of the short? cloud it always fall down, and miner stops hard. Doesn't cool down, could be much cycles/day. Isn't it there where you are, you could get the same rate for solar, as from the grid?  Even if only in short times of clouding, you could get lets say 30-60% power from solar, and the rest from grid. And after sun is down, stop mining. Or is it to much expensiver if grid is avaible? How long miners need for startup?

You can always incorporate a small battery pack for a bit of "ride through" capability; it's not like there are only two choices in solar: no battery or a massive battery. One caveat is that a small battery - say, under 1-2 kW-h of capacity - will need to be a lithium-ion type as they have much higher peak power output than lead-acid. Used battery modules from Chevy Volts, Nissan Leafs, Teslas, etc., are especially popular among the DIY solar crowd.

ZenCash is not associated with Joshua Yabut in any way since June 2017. We cannot speculate or comment on his actions.

Too bad, because that was a brazen and hilarious stunt.
