521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEWARE OF IEO on: May 04, 2019, 06:09:34 PM
The most dangerous thing in life is not to be able to see ahead of time,if you can't see ahead of time, you will always be cut up in the mist.So many are tired of ICO,as a matter of fact, ICO is almost dead, then came IEO presenting itself as a saviour of those investors that have suffered as a result of ICO,looking so tempting because some big exchange are backing it up,but i tell you,it can be more dangerous than ICO if you are not smart enough, atleast in the case of ICO,if price dump,it will dump on everyone, meaning there were some level of transparency, but for IEO especially with the big exchanges, the only thing we get to hear is that,it was sold out in seconds thereby creating an atmosphere that will make everyone to be looking forward to buy the moment it hit exchange, and the selected set of whales (hmmmm),who are already holding on to the coins are also ready to dump on people at a ridiculous price at exchange, after dumping it on people, then come a dump in price because the coin itself does not worth the price in the first instance, but because so much hype has been created in order to enrich themselves.I hope someone will wake up and not be cut up in the pool of loss.
My candid advice,if you can't get it at IEO,don't be fool to buy at a ridiculous price the moment is listed. The rich are getting richer, don't be trapped. All the best.
I was not aware that the ICO had evolved that fast. I thought STO, was the right direction for ICO's to go these days, I have to admit though, this thread is the first time I've heard it called IEO. The first thing that had came to mind was "Internet explorer"  Grin
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this GotSatoshi.com? New drama unfolding? on: May 03, 2019, 07:19:14 PM
Doesn't sound too good from the looks of it. I will stay tuned in order to find out what's really going on with this promotion. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this might turn out to be some sort of hairbrain scheme to sucker people out of coin.
I'm not for sure, so I won't bash it, but only time will tell!
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts worth staking on: May 03, 2019, 07:11:43 PM
I was looking stakingrewards.com and I'm honestly not familiar with POS coins so I was hoping someone could suggest something to use.

I thought about IOST or Livepeer but not sure. I would prefer something that doesn't require that much of an investment to start.
Diclaimer: I'm not a financial specialist and I'm not here to offer investment advice, but only to share my opinion on the matter. Please seek a proffessional for any legal or financial advice.

IOST officially launched there mainnet a few months ago. The ecosystem is very DAPP friendly and anyone with a skillset in coding javascript can make an App. They're fairly new and there team claims to have solved EOS's Node partnership problems and it even processes more transactions than the etheruem blockchain.
It's main factor is the community, theres big supporters on the official IOST telegram channel. They strive for fairness with proof of believability concensus algorithm.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS CRYPTO MINING WORTH ? on: May 03, 2019, 06:31:36 PM
Hello , i want to know if mining is worth it and what are the best cryptos to mine ?
What kind of hardware is worth to buy with a minimum budget, I've done some research online but the numbers are not the same , any suggestions would be good.
I think it's still worth it to mine if you're after some altcoins. But mining Bitcoin might require a warehouse of miners to make good profit. I could be wrong though.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase now supports Dogecoin on: May 02, 2019, 09:53:33 PM
Coinbase confirmed the next coin to be supported by it's wallet would be Dogecoin.
Now you can store Dogecoin on your coinbase mobile app. The support from coinbase has resulted in a sharp rise in price of Dogecoin in the last 24 hours.

This is truly exciting news, as it proves that with patience, perseverance,  and Due diligence, you can make smooth and steady progress gradually. Coinbase has come along way from 3-4 business days for deposits and withdrawals.
Exciting times to be in, being at the cusp of innovation and all!
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - Can We Find Him ? on: May 02, 2019, 09:45:45 PM
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto. No one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto really is, but we do know that he published a paper proposing the invention of the Bitcoin protocol back in November 2008, This paper can now be read on the official Bitcoin website, Bitcoin.org.

Nakamoto provided the first version of the bitcoin software client in 2009. He and others contributed towards the development of the project, but by the end of 2010, he made himself a less prominent figure in the rapidly growing Bitcoin community.

Nakamoto never revealed anything about himself and his last known message was in the spring of 2011, stating that he had “moved on to other things”.

Where is he now? ...

https://www.bitcrypt.co/did-satoshi-nakamoto-create-bitcoin/
He is right here within the community, and bas never left. He is apart of every project, and is the foundation of Cryptocurrencies as we know them today. He may not be around physically, but I assure you he is here within spirit, because through his innovation, he lives on!
So don't fret brother, Satoshi isn't an attention seeker for multiple reasons, like his identity is private obviously to remain protected. He never spent a single coin, an altruistic act you only read about in religious texts, or mthology. I think that his identity being conceled helps add to the mysterium of the man and his legacy
He's practical digital Jesus, the second coming of virtual christ for some. Even seen as a vigilante/ Villain others.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's Have Been Getting EXPOSED! Finally... on: May 02, 2019, 03:13:22 AM
If any of you are still interested in ICO's (I hope the answer is no), then you should know that 99.9% of them are complete garbage. They've been lying about the amount of funds that they raised, project details, project intentions ect. In other words, the majority of these companies are garbage dumpster fires. Companies like Swachhcoin (dumpster fire) got exposed recently on Tipestry. They've been deleting comments in their Telegram that exposed their company as a scam. However, Tipestry allows users to comment on the app as an extension. This way, Swachhcoin and other ICO's can't delete comments that expose their project for what they are...which is garbage.
I really don't think that it's fair to lump all ICO's into one category and call every single one fraudulent and a scam. Yes, many scams do exist within the crytpo ecosphere. An ICO is the crypto version of an IPO. It's usually a fundraising event for a startup company.
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: End of FAKE volume reporting on: May 02, 2019, 03:02:33 AM
I think the market is slowly changing as institutional investors are now beginning to show keen interest in the cryptocurrency sector.
One of the only things holding back an ETF at this point is the market manipulations like fake volume, and other things that may be harmful to investors. The bull market really needs the big guys to invest in order to take off.
Big investors will hopefully bring confidence and stability.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: May 02, 2019, 02:41:29 AM
Can you believe that losses from the theft of crypto from exchanges due to fraud hit $1.2B?

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-crypto-currency-fraud/cryptocurrency-thefts-fraud-hit-1-2-billion-in-first-quarter-report-idUSKCN1S62P3

I still can't wrap my mind around why people wouldn't want to have compliance with AML and KYC to better help that this doesn't happen

With new financial technological innovations there will always be those who are looking to exploit the usage rather than support the movement. It just comes with the territory. The more Blockchain finacial tech evolves, the more elaborate the schemes and scams will become.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does crypto keep screwing me over?? on: April 28, 2019, 01:21:12 AM
Its soooo unfair..  Sad like i will hold USDT for weeks at a time, and all the coins will pump!
but the day i decide to finally invest in a altcoin, it instantly turns into a blood bath!
EVERY FRIGGIN TIME

and i buy at the BOTTOM of the BOTTOM... whyyy does this always happen to me.. its totally not fair  Embarrassed

anyways.. what do you guys think about Wabi and KMD.. do you like these coins?

thnxx
You sound real frustrated and impatient. The cryptocurrency markets are akin to the stock market except crypto markets are much more volatile.
Unless your an avid skilled trader, or have enough patience to learn how to day trade successfully, you will continue to lose money.
Everyone loses money trading eventually, it's inevitable, even if you're a seasoned veteran, eventually you'll take a short.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto film brings Bitcoin to Hollywood on: April 28, 2019, 12:59:34 AM
Nice, what better way is there for the average Joe to be introduced to cryptocurrency than through a Hollywood film, which is going to star actors with household names?
Looks to me like these are the makings of solid progressive.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-04-27] Nike Files Trademark Application In The US For "Cryptokicks" on: April 28, 2019, 12:54:20 AM
Nike Files Trademark Application In The US For "Cryptokicks"

The footwear giant’s application describes offering crypto wallets and “downloadable mobile applications for providing access to crypto collectibles, crypto art and application tokens” — as well as operating an online marketplace featuring footwear and clothing.

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-25/nike-files-trademark-application-us-cryptokicks
It's going to start right here with small subtle moves towards cryptocurrency adoption like the approach that Nike is taking.
The consumer will slowly be introduced to the technology overtime.
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations only for BTC to increase in FIAT value? on: April 27, 2019, 09:07:06 PM
Hi all!

People in this forum and in many other discussions are fast to talk about the 'need for regulations'.

Most of the times it is in connection to mass adoption and for price speculation ideas.

Is regulations really only for Bitcoin to increase in price? What about the whole idea about a P2P currency without governments and banks being involved as a middle man .... Regulations issued by authorities, is that not only for the old system to take control of this emerging p2p currency market? I dont know but why should Bitcoin be regulated by governments and other authorities according to you?
That's all fine and dandy, except if you want institutional investors, mass adoption, etc, then regulations are needed.
Freedom without laws is anarchy, just as laws without freedom is tyranny. Instead, both parties tend to profit if
there is a mutual agreement somewhere down the line for either two to coexist. In the case of Bitcoin, it's beautifully transparent, yet subtlety private and reserved in some aspects.
It isn't the most user friendly, but it's something members of parliament across the world can somewhat collectively agree upon, that being, the blockchain itself, being the real game changer, not Bitcoin "PER SE".
Bitcoin only seems to be a unique proof of concept, providing an excellent working model of a Blockchain ecosystem. Probably why Nakamoto made the whole project open source.
  Just a theory
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gab wants to make a browser rewarding you in BTC on: April 26, 2019, 07:01:30 PM
Gab is creating its own web browser using Brave’s open-source code replacing the BAT token with Bitcoin Lightning Network integration :

https://decryptmedia.com/6719/gab-forking-brave

"The company has built its own web browser—a forked version of the open-source Brave browser—and will be releasing it within the next few weeks"
Sounds like th he Brave network had inspired another company to make a browser. Nice! I hope they pull it off, because it is always good to have an alternative of different browsers available. Competition forces the innovation to come out.
535  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the economic growth of Bitcoin will show a positive impact in upcoming days on: April 26, 2019, 06:52:01 PM
Hey
We all know how essential it is for the audience to follow the stars they love, not only that they usually have the power over a lot of population given how commercial companies die to hire them , well we have a good news * Serena Williams just revealed her list of the compani that she was investing in and one of them list was related to the cryptocurrency*

What we can infer from here is * even Superstars are actively involved in the cryptocurrencies and now they are opening up about it , this is going to influence the price positively for sure, what do you think ?
The S.E.C said to be wary of any celebrity endorsements related to cryptocurrency. With that said, if it is just a legitimate investing effort made on their behalf of common curiosity, then it is good to see the public starting to adopt innovation.
Is there a source for this information regarding these celebrities, a link would help? I'd like to research more about it.
Sounds like good news though!
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Binance Is Becoming Too Powerful (and really scary). on: April 25, 2019, 07:51:58 PM
Binance is seen as a shinning example of what a exchange should be, an ecosystem that interfaces directly with the community.
They have a top notch platform that offers a directory of resourceful guides, charts and tools! I like the fact that they provide very detail oriented and accurate information.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH or XRP on: April 25, 2019, 02:36:09 PM
Come on, this is an easy one,I think it's Ethereum. Ethereum has the super big Dapp support, soon to be POS and is Bitcoin 2.0. Ethereum took the resourcefulness of Bitcoin and made it better. Etheum basically laid the foundation work for similar projects like it. I remeber when ethereum was first being sold, I skipped over it because I didn't understand it's use-case. I understrood what a smart contract was, but didn't see the bigger picture. I felt like I missed the second coming of christ, when it mooned.  Tongue
538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Are Most Reliable Ways To Sell Bitcoin? on: April 25, 2019, 02:28:23 PM
Hey guys!

Some of you may think that my question will be dumb and that Google can help me but Google does not have everything - it does not have personal experience.

My question is - how can I sell my BTC without paying high fees to someone? I made a big mistake and lost my BTC using an exchange that's not reliable. In the end, it turned out they don't even have a customer support team.

I need a personal experience of how you have done it or maybe a place or an article where you can learn these things.

Because of the price increase, I want to sell some of my Bitcoins but I want also to make sure the transaction goes through.

It really depends on what country you're located in. The laws and regulations regarding cryptocurrencies vary from country to country. If you are within the U.S, Coinbase is a staple within the American diet of exchanges. It"s pretty simple to set up an account. but does require some personal information. A somewhat regulated exchange is the go to option. I'm not too sure about Local Bitcoins, because I don't know the exact laws governing money transmission services. There are regulations in place within the U.S that require money business transferring licence, some states require it as well as federal registering.
There are policy's for AML/KYC that must be met in order to do so, etc. Like I said, I'm not sure, but I think you should consult with you're local financial attorney/ advisory/ professional if you're not sure, at least before making any hasty moves.

Just my two cents!
539  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-25] Samsung Ploughs $2.9 Mln into Crypto Hardware Wallet Giant Ledger on: April 25, 2019, 02:15:40 PM
South Korea’s biggest conglomerate and one of the world’s largest brands, has invested $2.9 million in crypto hardware wallet manufacturer and custodial service provider Ledger in a high-profile deal.

The multi-million dollar investment in Ledger by Samsung comes less than a week after Samsung Ventures led a $4 million round in ZenGo, a startup developing keyless crypto wallets.

The commitment of Samsung in the crypto sector is likely to act as a catalyst that recovers the confidence of investors in the long-term prospect of the market.

See more - https://www.ccn.com/samsung-ploughs-2-9-million-into-crypto-hardware-wallet-giant-ledger
This sounds like pretty great news to me. I guess Samsung is on board as an institutional investor now! Maybe this will inspire other companies with similar attributes to follow suit and get more active within the Bitcoin and other Blockchain communities. The Price of Bitcoin seems to be stabilizing this year, with those violent swings slowing down.
540  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How bitcoin inheritance can be achieved. on: April 24, 2019, 08:51:36 PM
Make a multi-sig (2-3), one key for you, one key for your wife/husband, and one key for your child. If you died, your spouse and your child can move or use the funds. Not the best idea but it should work if you have a family and you can trust them.
This is pretty resourceful information. Someone needs to make a Bitcoin cookbook, or survival guide outlining and detailing all potential and necessary steps that one could take in order to invest, live off of everyday, grow, and even how to secure generaltional wealth with just BTC.
I have a strong feeling that in the future, some societies will be almost cashless. A world where just about everything is recorded on a ledger, whether private, or public. Exciting times to be in, it feels like we're at the cusp of the future of finance. Blockchain tech is starting to spread like wildfire.
