Thank you for the update.  Sometimes, miner can freezes just like any other computers, but when it happens, if you simply physically power it off and power it back on, most of the time, it will fixes the problem.

If the problem persists, please contact us and we will look into further!

Thank you for selecting Antminer Product Lines!!

Have had two S5 running flawlessly for three weeks and today experienced an issue.  One of the two appeared to have frozen.  Perhaps half a day elapsed while both controller and Hash appeared stuck.  Discovered the problem by observing lower than expected Hash on Eligius and traced it back to the specific S5 by addressing it, whereupon it displayed the status page (without my logging in or requesting it), but was unresponsive to GUI selections.  Shut down the PSU for sixty seconds, fired it up again, and back to normal.  It now once again appears fine.

30mbps should be good enough if you are trying to use it on multi PH operation.  If you want to install IP came for the security camera watching and VPN from outside, then you may use 7-10Mbps temporary for the access and another 2-5Mpbs for the video watching or playing with your drone flying over the mining farm.

You'll always do better with your own node.

EDIT: assuming you have the bandwidth for it.

Question on this...

What kind of sustained bandwidth does a normal mining operation consume? I have a 30MB up/down pipe and was wondering what I should allocate. I can build a DMZ for my local P2Pool server to run on, and set the limits on bandwidth. Would 2MB be enough? More?

Antminer Products will run on 208v, power source, as long as the PSU you use supports them.

Most of ATX or server grade PSUs are operational between 100v - 240v.  Then, those PSU will spit out 12v from the PCI-E connectors.

Has anyone published out the wattage draw to frequency settings in a chart for 110v?

Also...

I'm considering adding in additional S5s to some 2 Phase 208v 30 Amp Breakers. I have 4 of these circuits just sitting idle in one of my rooms.

Im a little unfamiliar with 208v to begin with, let alone 2 Phase. If I buy the simple distros for the sockets, use EVGA g2 1300w PSUs, how many could I plug in and feed of a 30a 208v 2 Phase?

Thanks!

Strato

MINERSOURCE.NET or Miner Hosting LLC was not AUTHORIZED BITMAIN DISTRIBUTOR OR AUTHORIZED RESELLERS

Please Purchase any Bitcoin Miners Direct from the Manufactures.  Bitmain is not the only manufactures who sell hardware DIRECTLY to the consumers.  All REPUTABLE MANUFACTURES DO SELL hardware directly to the consumers.  Any time you purchase from other than the manufactures, you may experience extra headache as None of the Manufactures will have control over whoever resell the hardware.

Also, other manufactures have very similar warranty rules when it comes to the second/third handed Bitcoin Miners.  Some were even sold new but being used or out of warranty to start with.

We have service parts available for both S3 and S3+.  Please contact us for the service need.

Unfortunately, we CAN NOT be liable for unaffiliated resellers or individual reselling miners and when the transaction goes side way. (BUT, if you need the item serviced, there may be a small expense to you if it is out of the warranty, but it can be serviced)

Bitmain Product has 90-day warranty from the date of purchase from the FACTORY. (not from the day you purchased somewhere on the internet)

If you see any firmware bugs, or issues.  Please PM us!!!

Unfortunately, Bugs will continue to exist  Cry

P.S: Some may experience it and some may never see it in bug mode...  Bad experience could be the firmware caused or could be the hashing environment caused, or simply weird condition that we may never know. (But... But... But... We want to know about it)

There is no guarantee that all reported bugs will be fixed but each report will be carefully looked at.

I have done the ticket thing, tried to be nice, what I got was . Please spend more money returning it to us so we can fix it and send it back. Oh, you need the original purchase number from the supplier you bought it from though.  In this case minersource who is apparently no longer in existance as their web site is gone and no other info on them is availabel. I sad that they are listed as a supllier but the  customers info from the purchase they made from the supplier doesn't work.

Thus my post here. Maybe save some people some headaches. Sorry but my last few Antminer buys (3 U3, 3 S3+) have all been sour apples.

@clarkjhaley13

If you could, please PM us for a possible RMA approval.

Also, if you could, were they sent from China or were they sent from Minersource?

Were These S3+ or S3?

S3 were discontinued almost 6 months ago.

530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: dead chain on AntMinerS2? on: February 05, 2015, 10:13:55 PM
If you could, please power the unit off. Open the cover, then reseat each Hashing PCB and the Control PCB to make sure.  Then power it back on and see if it fixes the issue.  May have to shut it down a few times.

if you are seeing some X's, it could be the firmware bugs but if it is completely gone or all ----- with 0 temperatue, power cycle has a chance of fixing it.

If not, please try to insert this trouble hashing PCB into a different slot and see if the whole -------- travel with the card or remain with the slot.  If it travel with the hashing PCB, we may be able to offer you the replacement Hashing PCB.  If it remains with the slot, then your backplain may be damaged

Hello.

Ive been using this S2 for a couple of weeks now. Very happy about it.. Until now. I was casually checking the admin web interface for temperatures, as I do everyday, and saw this:

A few minutes before that (unfortunately i dont have a screenshot for that) i could swear i saw the chain above that one with a status like ------x----x---x-- or something around those lines. inactive chips and 2 or 3 dead ones. Ive been resetting a few times the unit to check if by some miracle it would fix (ex windows user, still have that habit) but nein.

So, any thoughts? Has this happened to any of you before? Is there something that can be done?

Thanks.

yes, you can use the same S3+ firmware for the S3.  If your miner has an older firmware prior to October 24 version, please update to the newer firmware such as December 19th version.

Other wise, if your miner is working, please keep it as is!!!

Used S2 could be a great miner if your condition meets certain requirements.  (or just mine for fun as a hobby)

however, you may save money by buying Antminer S5 as a new unit.  You will get 1.15TH and half the power consumption and you can buy it on Amazon with a credit card or bank account payment or gift card purchase.

* Noise wise, S2 and S5...  You'll notice it is running from the fan.

Keep in mind if you are using them for home mining, they are EXTREMELY LOUD compared to other miners out there.
