521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how to store bitcoin for long term? on: June 25, 2017, 03:06:32 AM
in my experience it depends on how long you want to keep them. if it is the real cold cold-storage then a paper wallet is the best option since you won't be accessing it but if you want to spend the funds then a paper wallet is going to prove some difficulties when you want to spend anything. since you will have to sweep the keys then generate a new paper wallet to send the remaining funds to that.
in this case a hardware wallet or another wallet installed on another offline computer is best. like electrum on an old PC or a live linux.
522  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: June 25, 2017, 02:59:07 AM
I heard that bitcoin is a good investment for making a huge profit in the future , is that right ? Because i want to buy some bitcoin in these days .

don't invest everything you ever had but make sure to invest something. bitcoin is very scarce. there is a very limited number of coins created and the maximum amount will be fixed and won't change. it is a simple supply and demand relationship.
523  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Okcoin bitcoin withdrawals problem on: June 24, 2017, 02:29:56 AM
this is because of the new regulation rules that Chinese exchanges have to follow now. and since you said it is a large amount they are asking for more information. he has no choice but to provide all these documents properly and fully.
he is doing something wrong that they are rejecting his docs, just tell him to contact the site support and solve it by communicating.

Its almost the same thing as this guy here: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/6g8rd8/okcoin_is_robbing_me_for_97_bitcoins/?sort=confidence

Btw, he is in contact with support for a month, but i think theres a lot of people with the same problem and the support is not enough to handle everyone, thats why its taking so long.
And even tho he has a large amount, its not the problem since he cant even withdrawal even 0.1 btc lol. His compliance level is zero now. He need his docs to reach lvl 1 and be able to withdrawl 10k usd in bitcoin

unfortunately this seems to be the new rules as i said above combined with the massive ticket requests and their lack of enough support power.
if the amount is big like that guy in the reddit link you can tell him to make a topic on reddit and ping those /u/okcoin... guys that were pinged in that comment below it. and since it is already 1 month i think it is ok to do it now.
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] Google Bought Blockchain.info on: June 24, 2017, 02:13:21 AM

WRONG News!

Please be serious, read the article. Publishing fake news doesn't help BTC. An investment firm related to Google has invested in blockchain.info, but that company remains independent.

these ethereum guys always do this! you only have to have a G or I in your companies name for them to start saying Google, IBM is investing in bitcoin, ethereum. see his last comment in this topic how he advertised investment in ethereum in line with bitcoin.

526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legalization in India....incoming price inflation! on: June 23, 2017, 01:07:35 PM
Is it possible to confirm this news from reliable sources? I am a resident of India and I don't think that the government will legalize Bitcoin that easily. Tax evasion is a big issue here, and the government authorities view Bitcoin as a medium which can be used for this purpose.
How can you evade tax with bitcoin, you either have to run a elaborate illegal exchange where you give out bitcoin without any proper KYC documents, other than that it is not easy as you think to use bitcoin as a way to invade tax, first you need to hold bitcoin, how are you going to achieve that without using a banking system to send money for the coins,if you can bypass that then it might be possible, but that wont be the case most of the time

there are always ways to evade taxes but using bitcoin doesn't mean it will become easier. it actually is much harder to evade taxes using bitcoin because the first thing to do while performing a successful tax evasion is to not show how much money you own and forge documents, ...
with bitcoin all your transactions are public knowledge on the blockchain and with enough chain analysis the source and destinations can easily be found.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the price will be in 5 years? (with segwit) on: June 23, 2017, 12:06:19 PM
What do you think how much bitcoin will be worth in 5 years?
Lets say SegWit has been activated by then

I personally $10k is possible!

$10k will just be the start of the rise!
with lightning network the price will start rising as fast as lightning. Smiley
we are currently stuck behind a very long debate which has stalled the rise of bitcoin. if we had Seg Wit then the Japan news about mass adoption would have had a very different effect and price would have already reached $4000
528  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mind, they have very high maintenance commissions on: June 23, 2017, 11:55:48 AM
for years people have been saying cloud mining is not profitable and nobody ever listens until they invest and waste their time and money to realize it on their own.

the only case which i have ever seen cloud mining be profitable was when you could buy GHS and mine right away but be able to sell it on the market just as fast like trading an altcoin and make profit. if you could ever find something like that, and if you are good at trading then consider investing in it.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are you preparing yourself for the 1st of August? on: June 23, 2017, 11:45:24 AM
I think we're going to be fine. It may need a couple of days to stabilize, but after that everything is back to normal.

Yes of course but for that want to profit during the chaos what is the best course of action? Should we sell before Aug and buy back later or not? Please provide guidance

I think for me I will sell and buy back. Sell a portion not all. At least 1 quarter

the problem is nobody knows!
a lot of different things can happen so bitcoin price can go in a lot of different directions.

if you have invested more than you can afford to lose, or if the amount is making you uneasy then sell some of it to reduce the pressure on your mind.

if not then don't worry too much and wait for things to become a little clearer and then make a decision.
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: India to legalize bitcoin on: June 21, 2017, 05:14:38 AM

meh, it is dissapointing because a known shit news site has posted this so i wouldn't bother reading it.

and i don't get the title either, it is not really "suddenly", it proves cointelegraph is once again posting random stuff without researching. Indian have been debating what to do about bitcoin for a long time now. they have multiple good exchanges and a very large trading volume with the price even higher than USD markets (about 10% higher).

there have even been a couple of petitions in the past couple of months to make bitcoin officially legal. so yeah, apparently months and months of work to CTL means suddenly Cheesy
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit agreement with >80% miner agreement. on: June 21, 2017, 04:40:31 AM
someone knowledgable and without drama, needs to make a summary topic of the situation and post it in this board. i see a lot of FUD and false information these days that is making my head spin.

the summary needs to cover a couple of questions:
1. what is the difference between SegWit and SegWit2x
2. why do people keep saying it is BU code, it is buggy, it will crash,...
3. who are working on it. is it tested
...
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: segwit2X soon? on: June 21, 2017, 03:50:47 AM
79.2% right now!!!

It can't get any closer. A difference of just 0.8%. I am still having a few doubts regarding it. For how long this 80% consensus needs to be maintained? And if the consensus dips below 80% for a short time period, does it gets void? This 80% mark, is it average required or the mandatory minimum?

from what i have read the "consensus" is at 95% not lower.
and that 0.8% you see is just fluctuations.
also the duration that they should keep signalling without falling under the said percentage on average is a full difficulty adjustment period. and then it will Lock_in. and it is on average meaning if it is 97% then goes down to 94% and up again and down again it still is considered on average above 95%
533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Surging Anew on: June 21, 2017, 03:43:39 AM
I noticed two important things when I logged in to my BTC-e account today. Bitcoin was up by around 5%, and Ether was down by 5%. The market cap dominance for BTC has increased from 37% to 39% (I hope very soon it will achieve 50%, and within a couple of months it may reach 80%). This is the beginning of the end of altcoin bubble. All these inflated balloons are going to burst, once SegWig2x is activated.

that's just the start. very soon more ICO owners will want to sell their funds they have received in their ICO sells and we are talking about a couple of million dollars for each of them not just small amounts!
and when that happens all the money will crash ETH and will come back to bitcoin and lead to higher rise.
534  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain.com domain offline. on: June 19, 2017, 03:48:22 AM
maybe somebody is angrily DDoSing it Cheesy

Cheesy This is the most probable explanation. I believe there are others in the Chinese mining community who might be thinking that Bitmain is cheating them because of ASIC Boost. The only way to prove it though is through the UASF, but Bitmain has to mine that chain also. If there is a 15% reduction of total hash power in Bitmain then that could be proof that they were using ASIC Boost all along.

do you mean their hashrate drop down 15% of what they currently have (which is 17% i believe) which means going down to 14-15% or goes down 15% meaning drop to 2% in total?

also do you have any source for me that i can read about ASIC boost? i saw some stuff the first day it was revealed but didn't see how much it is boosting.
535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Biggest threat to the future of Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2017, 03:30:47 AM
in addition to all that, the only other thing that can hurt bitcoin the most is its users in my opinion.
mostly the users who don't understand bitcoin at all. they see it as a plaything to make money only and make it fast. they have weird expectations from bitcoin and when they are not met they start thinking it is dead.
and one more thing is many who have started calling bitcoin just as an store of value. and this will haunt us in the long term if more people stop wanting bitcoin as it should be (a currency) and want it only as an store of value.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Companies That Help Track Down Stolen Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2017, 03:01:26 AM
Sorry, but just to bump this one more time, where would be the best place to find people willing to help out for a finders fee/bounty?  Here, another forum, etc.?

i don't know why but it seems like nobody suggested walletexplorer.com so far! you can search a bitcoin address there and see all the linked addresses, it has some good information but it is not complete but it is free.

if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll see their paid services which is more complete and better. if you are serious about finding someone and are willing to pay then contact them and ask how their services are.
but don't have high expectations because this is bitcoin and if someone wants they can hide their tracks pretty well.
537  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: which exchange has better bitcoin withdrawal fees? on: June 19, 2017, 02:55:48 AM
Kraken and Bittrex offers BTC0.001 for every withdrawal transaction you make while I think this is cheap and may make your transaction goes faster to confirm. While on Yobit = 0.0015 for every withdrawal transaction

If you withdraw bulk amount from exchanges, this fees not going to hurt you much.

actually the high fee of 0.0025BTC belongs to kraken, i am not using it i just checked them out to see how much it is. if you search you can see it for yourself too!

Why do you even care for withdrawal fees much if you are making good profits from trading as for me most of the time the fees is 2-5% of my profit. I trade on bittrex which takes 0.001 btc fees and so does livecoin. But t
If fees is so important trade on poloniex they take the lowest fees of 0.0001 btc but you get the exact rate on it so that's a down point.

sometimes in the small exchanges that have some coins that are not listed anywhere else i do trading and do it with small amounts of bitcoin, so if they have 10K satoshi fee it is best for me. but mostly i just wanted to know my options to be able to choose better.
538  Economy / Service Discussion / which exchange has better bitcoin withdrawal fees? on: June 18, 2017, 06:48:59 AM
with the rise of transction fees all the exchanges that i know have increased their withdrawal fees, and some of them even increased it to ridiculously high amounts like 0.0025BTC per transaction!!!

so is there any place that has not yet increased this or has a lower fee?
539  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I need best ad network for gambling site on: June 18, 2017, 02:59:01 AM
What is best ad-network for gambling site promotion?
I've tried mellow ads but it seems that it only brings faucet users   Huh

well what did you expect? all these advertising networks are only being used by faucet sites and a little part of it is from real sites. this is exactly why some real big and legit ad networks such as google deny faucets!

if you want to advertise then it is best to do it directly on a bitcoin or gambling or bitcoin gambling related website, they all accept banners directly too. you struck a deal and place your ad there. it may cost more but the result is much better.

and obviously signature on a forum is always an option.
540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc reached the bottom for this week , correction and retest 3,000 $ ? on: June 18, 2017, 02:51:03 AM
I enjoy reading opinions of "traders" coming on here to quantify something they don't understand. The actual bubble is just barely starting to form, and the correction is being corrected -  Grin

just the fact that you think you understand it differently that others doesn't mean you are correct!
a bubble doesn't have to be a 10million dollar bubble. it can effectively be a smaller size too. and besides if you research more about "bubble" there is no absolute definition for it. you can call a $10 rise a bubble the same way you can call a $10000 rise.
there is a lot of factors to consider too. things such as how much new money came in and with bitcoin you should always consider the adoption increase which is causing the rise.
